Something I haven’t done in 2.8 years…..

Exciting news: I am getting my hair colored (other than from a box) for the first time in 2.8 years on Friday.  Because I am far too cheap to actually pay for a hair cut AND a hair coloring, I made my sister trim my hair first.  The little curly kept coming at me with her own pair of scissors.  She thought that she could do a way better job than my sis.

She is also back to wearing her princess costumes from the second she gets home until she has to change into pajamas.

Not only did my best friend, the sister, cut my hair for free but she also made me dinner.  French toast pre-syrup dumping….she hadn’t brought it over yet…when someone offers to make me dinner, I let them do all of the work.

Photo 2 copy

My third favorite magazine ever decided to celebrate my birthday month with an entire magazine full of chocolate recipes, they really know how to make a girl feel special.  Over-the-top AND dessert should always be in the same sentence.

Photo 2 copy 3

Reason #45624 that I love Billy.  While we were at Yogurtland getting our free yogurt on monday he said that he didn’t feel like one (I think he must be coming down with an awful virus or something) and said he would get one for me and put it in the freezer.

Photo 2

Now he doesn’t have my stacking skills but he did make one darn good froyo which more than satisfied my late-night (keep in mind, that means 8:30 pm for me) sweet tooth.

Do you color your hair?  How often?  How often do you get your hair cut….do you go to the same person or try out different people?

What was the last meal that someone made for YOU!?!? What did they make?

Do you have a sweet tooth after dinner…what do you commonly cure that sweet tooth with or do you just ignore it?

Are you a Food Network lover like me?

I have a monster sweet tooth after dinner! I cure it with a variety of goodies….chocolate is a big one, cookies, fro-yo, and lately it has been swedish fish.
ALSO….I just read your post on the mental aspect of running and I LOVED it! That is by far my biggest challenge with running, but I definitely believe so much of running/athletics is mental! Thanks for sharing! :)
Happy Wednesday!

When people say they don’t have a sweet tooth after dinner, I am convinced they are lying to themselves..or else I’m making up for the lack of! Billy is a good man..a very good man! I probably shouldn’t admit it but as I live with my momma, she makes a huge chunk of my meals–> packed lunches have never been so easy :D

Awww you are making me miss my sister!

I used to color my hair, but in my ‘old age’ I am getting even more frugal–the roots are still growing out, it drives my hair stylist nuts;-)

I have a total ‘late night’ sweet tooth–I always listen to it–better than avoiding and downing a whole container of ice cream later in the week (not that this has ever happened or anything) ;-)

Reply

I use a box dye too but I actually went to get my hair cut yesterday and decided that I’ll let the gal do the color too. So next month I’ll finally get a professional color! Oh, my life is so exciting :)

I always am in the mood for sweets. I kid you not. Luckily, things like flavored yogurt tend to hit the spot. And when they don’t chocolate will suffice.

My mom’s best friend is a hair dresser. She has been cutting my hair since I was a baby. I’ve only had 3 other people in my entire life do it, and that was usually me trying to be nice to a friend in cosmetology school, or when I wasn’t home/not going to be home when my hooker roots came in (I have dark hair and have dyed it blonde since I was 14), so I needed to go somewhere else. She never charged me for a hair cut until I graduated college – I think I owe her now :) Plus she’s fun to gossip with.

Oooooh yum! That froyo looks magical!

I never colour my hair… I used to be blonde but gave that up in high school!
I have a HUGE sweet tooth I try to ignore but a lot of the time it doesn’t work… Chocolate is usually my choice!
Obsessed with the Food Network…Chopped and Iron Chef all the way!

Yay for non-box hair color! I dyed my hair in november and it was a DISASTER! so i went to get it fixed at the salon…much better choice!

I live at home so my mom usually makes dinner for me! Woohoo!

I’ve been eating a graham cracker with PB sometimes if i need some sweetness ;)

And yes, Chopped is my fav!!

Hi, I’m Jenn and I have a HUGE sweet tooth after dinner…
I do not ignore it, if I did that would set me up for wanting TONS of sweets in the future. I believe in not playing the rigid food police and allowing ourselves what we crave in moderation.

Love it when people cook dinner after a long day at work. I also love the crock pot for this same reason, it’s already cooked when I get home and only one pot to wash.

Can’t wait to see your hair on Friday!

Reply

Love sweets anytime. Last month was the first time I used a box to do my hair. Since moving I tried one person and didn’t like the color. I went to the same girl for 8 years, and love her. I have considered fly back to AZ to have her do my hair, but that would be one expensive cut and color. Can’t wait to see pictures of your new hair.

Reply

My sister made me dinner last night! Chickpea and kale stew! Delish! :)

Reply

I have never colored my hair! I’m lucky enough to have natural highlights and I don’t want to mess with that. I do not get my hair cut enough–last trim was August, I really need to go again (always the same person).

Husband made chili for us last night. So good that I’m already looking forward to leftovers tonight. I have a sweet tooth all the time…I had two cookies before breakfast.

I was blonde forever, and just stopped a few months ago and went super dark from a box because I was sick of doing the salon thing and paying so much money! Now I miss the blonde and am slowly working my way back. I can not remember the last time someone made ME a meal! that is one good hubby, bringing the froyo home for you! so thoughtful:-) I have an insane sweet tooth, after any meal. I must satisfy it with chocolate. that can not be ignored. ever! I usually put chocolate in my purse if we go out to eat, in case we don’t get dessert. That way I am sure to have my chocolate fix.

Reply

I just started getting my hair professionally colored again I must say it lasts SOOO much longer and is totally worth the extra cost! My hubby made me dinner on Monday:) He made BBQ baked chicken breast and cornbread casserole and it was very good! I pretty much have a sweet tooth 24/7 but at night I cure the craving with frozen grapes!

Reply

I’ve never colored my hair, I’m too afraid it will mess up my natural color! And the last time someone cooked for me was when I was at home over Christmas! I don’t think my goldfish will be getting into cooking anytime soon… Haha.

Reply

Color my hair every 3 months or so. Depends on what we have going on. I go to the same person each time and she does my cut and color.
Last meal someone made me was probably dear husband making spaghetti.
I don’t have much of one after dinner but if I do, I usually have a piece of fruit or a pudding snack!
Not necessarily a Food Network fan but love Top Chef!

I color my hair twice a year in March and September. Since it costs so much I try not to color it any more than that. I always have my same hair dresser cut and color my hair. It took me years to get a color and cut I really love so now I do not trust anyone else!
On Sunday uor friends made us chicken pasta with spinach, mushrooms and onions and homemade sundried tomato feta sauce it was amazing!
I always have a sweet tooth! At night I either have a square of dark chocolate, a couple dates , tea or hot chocolate.
I want to start watching the food network more, in the summers we watch it more since no new other shows are on, but I haven’t watched in forever.

Reply

That is so nice of her!! I wish I had a sis for stuff like that :) I do color my hair. It’s so expensive especially when I want to be blonde which is what is happening now. I always get highlights because I haaaate to see my dark roots -__-

Reply

I think I have a problem where I have to have chocolate every day. Somedays i think that messes with the “training” I’m doing for my first half marathon but honestly, chocolate is way more important;)

I have to color my hair about every three months. I found a Paul Mitchell school here and am super excited I can be cheap and still have good color and a good cut!

Reply

I color my hair… so every 6-8 weeks I have to go get the roots touched up. This requires a special trip home because I only trust one person with my color :)

I’m the cook–always.

I have a sweet tooth 24/7… peanut butter & chocolate usually do the trick!

My roommate and I always turn the TV on and always find it on Food Network. We love it!

Reply

When I danced pro, they used to color my hair all the time! I went from blonde to brunette to red and back again. After awhile, my hair turned to straw, so after I quit, I also quit the dying and haven’t colored it since. Much easier on the upkeep :)

Reply

Ugh coloring my hair is the bane of my existence I started too young getting highlights and have ever since. Of course now that I am older I have to pay for them so I try to find the cheapest deal which is now a hairdresser that comes to my house and highlights and cuts my hair for WAY less then a salon would, I love her and will cry when she moves or decides to open her own salon!

Reply

I’ve heard that FN Mag issue was amazing! I only get my hair done 3-4 times a year. I’m cheap!

Reply

good for you! how are you getting your hair done? i haven’t paid to get my hair colored since our wedding (about a year and a half ago). i usually use a cap and box from walmart. ;) it really is just so pricey, and if i can do it myself with it looking decent, i’m okay with that. i still love to get my hair professionally done… it’s great sitting there and having them do all the work!

i always have had a sweet tooth after dinner!! i usually satisfy it with a small bowl of ice cream or a couple small pieces of dark chocolate.

Reply

So nice that he saved his fro yo for you!
I used to color my hair…back when my parents paid the bills. But I have not done it in years, because I’m way to cheap.

Reply

YES!! I got that issue of Food Network on my Nook last night. I haven’t read it yet because I know I will start craving chocolate. I had forgot about it until now, and now I am craving chocolate anyways! Awesome!

BTW — I need a cut and color too, but I am also to cheap! ;)

Reply

Oh man…I have a sweet tooth before dinner, during dinner, after dinner, etc….it never ends:)

your blog makes me wish i had a sister! i think its precious that you always refer to her as your best friend….and that she cooked for you!

i am a HUGE food network lover. I am taking a day off from work today (mental health) and i will be watching food network for a good part of the day lol

Reply

Oooo – what color are you going with? Can’t wait to see what you do :)

I’ve done highlights for years and finally went back to my “normal” color (and by normal I mean the color hides the grays!).

Reply

Since moving to NYC I get my hair cut and colored only every 3 months, where my total bill ends up being $230! When I lived in UT I got it done every 5 weeks!

I satisfy my sweet tooth every single night with dark chocolate. You don’t need very much and it’s so good.

And I LOVE Food Network. My favorite show is Chopped. I actually got to go to Scott Conant’s (one of the judges) restaurants, Scarpetta last week for my 5 year anniversary. You MUST go there if you are ever in the city. Amazing.

Reply

I color my hair because thanks to my genetics..i’ve been getting gray hair since i was 22 ;) I dont do it nearly as often as I should..I’d say in the past, i’ve only gotten my hair down around 2 times a year, and now in the past 2 years, i’ve tried to get to the salon every 3-4 months. its going to be easier now because i’ve started going to my mom’s cousins salon. HOOKUP!

Kevin made me wings on sunday. i love that boy :)

i always have a sweet tooth, all day every day. but i do tend to have ice cream or some form of chocolate every night.

LOVE THE FOOD NETWORK. is their magazine any good? i’m ashamed to say i’ve never read it before. i usually just steal recipes off their website :)

Reply

I am way cheap when it comes to my hair. Hardly ever go to the salon and when I do cut only. I have massive amount of grey right now, gotta head to cvs for that fancy box of color.

I have the worst sweet tooth and wish I could go to the dentist and get it pulled!

Reply

I get my hair cut every 4-6 months. I am desperately in need of a hair cut right now. No food network, because no cable/satellite fancy schmancy tv channels.

Reply

I’m obsessed with food network! I’m fairly certain the people in the gym rush down to get there before me or they are stuck watching Chopped on TV while they work out..

Reply

Okay, so here’s the deal…I get haircuts approximately twice a year. Why? Well, because my hair stylist charges 58 dollars plus a tip–BUT she is amazing and I have been going to her for years. My hair is super straight and fine, so you can’t really tell if I haven’t had a haircut in awhile. Plus, then I can spend my money on other things, like expensive gym memberships and Target runs.

I’ve colored my hair on and off for the past 5 years or so. My natural color is light brown–kind of a dark dishwater blonde. Right now it’s colored chocolate brown. I colored it for my wedding day and I probably won’t get it colored again until next fall because I am cheap.

I used to go to Great Clips but I always came home and had to touch things up myself…which usually was a disaster. You’re so lucky that your sister does hair! Seriously!!

My mom made me homemade chicken noodle soup last night! It was so good!

I always have a sweet tooth after dinner! My favorite things are popsicles and leftover Christmas candy to satisfy it!

I LOVE food network and miss it so much since we canceled cable last year! I still get the magazine though–I got that chocolate one yesterday and I can’t wait to read it while on the machines at the gym this afternoon!

Reply

I have bright red hair so I have never colored it. I don’t want to, but every stylist says they would never do it anyway!

I think the last “meal” made for me was a frozen pizza “made” by my boyfriend. It’s his specialty :P

I eat dessert every single night. Sometimes candy, sometimes fro yo, but always something sweet. I figure I workout enough and eat healthy most of the time, so I can have dessert!

Love the Food Network but don’t have cable :(

Reply

I colored my hair through high school and college but stopped right before I got married. I haven’t dyed my hair since… so 11 years :). Yes, I am old.
The last time someone made dinner for me was Sunday. The husband makes waffles for dinner every Sunday- it’s one of my favorite traditions ;).
My after dinner sweet tooth is usually satisfied with Hot Tamales. I buy a box or two every time I go to Wal-mart.

Reply

I ALWAYS have a sweet tooth after dinner and ALWAYS gotta end the day on a sweet note ;) Fro-yo is my faveee way to satisfy my needs!

Reply

I have never looked into Food Network magazine, but I don’t know why not since I LOVE so many of their shows. I’m home from work today and one of the things I’m most excited about is watching food network during the day :-)

Reply

I get my hair cut every six weeks or so…it’s an excuse to go home for the weekend. =P Gotta tame the beast!

The last meal someone made for me was eggplant rollatini and angel hair pasta! Mmmmmm….

I absolutely have a sweet tooth! Sometimes I have tea or coffee instead, or I treat myself to a cookie.

Oh, yes. I watched Food Network last night as I walked by someone’s room. Spreadin’ the Food Network love.

Reply

I’m too antsy to keep up with coloring my hair! Too much sitting around at the salon. But I’m sure you’ll look awesome and it’ll make me want to try it. I’ve never done it!

And I always have a sweet tooth after dinner. Every since I was little my dad would bring out a bag of hershey kisses after dinner and we would all have one. I thank my dad for my need of chocolate IMMEDIATELY after a meal. Now, I think I’m doing the same thing to my husband. Whups.

Reply

I color my hair a couple times a year…I get bored with it. I’ve always gone to one of the hair schools in the area and they’ve always done a good job. This last time I had a coupon and got my hair cut and colored for only $16! I win. Um…I ALWAYS have a sweet tooth…and usually I satisfy it, it’s bad. Last night at a church activity we had cheesecake and red velvet cake…yum-o. I’m super lucky and Steve will make me dinner quite a bit…or we’ll make it together, etc.

Reply

I absolutely love the Food Network magazine! I freaked out when I got that chocolate edition. ;) Also, I love how your towered up your “free” yogurt cup. Haha. That’s hilarious. Also, I’m envious over your breakfast-for-dinner french toast. My hubby is against breakfast for dinner (??) so we don’t ever have it. I guess it’s a food purist? ;)

Reply

I LOVE Food Network! I have it on the television pretty much 24:7. The only exception is when either of my two favorite NHL teams are playing (Go Blackhawks and Go Penguins!).

My favorite Food Network chefs are Giada, Ina, Aunt Sandy, and Hungry Girl (don’t you love how I refer to them by first name/nickname, as if I know them personally?) I also love Restaurant Impossible and Chopped!

I subscribe to Food Network Magazine also. The recipes are great and I love the monthly celebrity chef kitchen feature – I think it gives a great glimpse of behind-the-scenes personality!

What color are you dying your hair? I get pink highlights a few times a year, keeps things jazzy.

I can’t remember the last time someone made me dinner. How sad is that?

Reply

I just got my hair done for the first time in 7 months. yikes!
I die it about twice a year, just the same color as my roots, my ends always get gross and faded. I am super cheap too and always went to the same lady since I was al ittle girl (not kidding) and she only charged me $40 for a cut and a dye! score! sadly when we moved to NC i had to find someone new and held out forever because it was like $120, that is crazy talk.
anyway end of story, found someone a little cheaper. I typically try to get it cut once ever 2 months or so!

Reply

I’m going to have to start. At 28-I have grays. It’s horrific. My girlfriend from childhood cuts my hair when I visit ohio. She’s awesome and has a fro just like me!!
Hubs made me coffee over the weekend. It was divine.

I want curly to dress up with.

Reply

I’ve never colored my hair…it has some natural highlights in it and my hairdresser said that if i colored it, the natural highlights may never come back? could be a lie, but it scared me enough to never color my hair. My mom cut my hair for me until freshman year of high school. I forbid her from getting scissors near my hair ever again when she discovered that she needed glasses after cutting my hair on a nice slant 2 hours before a freshman dance.

After your sugar free challenge after Christmas, I did the same thing and since then my after dinner sweet tooth has been seriously reduced…my after dinner popcorn craving, however, is at an all time high.

I LOVE the food network. Chopped, Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, and Cupcake Wars have my heart.

PS: You are just so great…the amount of time you spend with your sister and family is so heart warming and inspiring. I hope that one day my sister and I will be as close as you 2 :)

HAPPY HUMP DAY! (sorry for the obnoxiously long comment.)

Reply

I colored my hair once.. I was in high school bored on spring break with my friends.. terrible mistake! My hair was bright orange for a week until I died it back.

I have such a sweet tooth after dinner so I always eat some dark choco chips with some greek yogurt. If I had a fro yo fund I would most def hit up red mango every other night.

Reply

I have a sweet tooth all the time! I would love to have dessert after every meal!

Reply

I LOVE Food Network!! I still remember getting my first issue of their magazine. I think I doggy-eared just about every page!

Reply

I color my hair every 4 weeks. I started going gray when I was 16, and by the time I was 30 it was completely white. The good thing about it is that I feel like I can experiment with whatever colors I want to, because it’s only a 1 month commitment.
My husband broiled us chicken for dinner last night…we both had either a stomach flu or food poisoning yesterday, it was the only solid food we ate all day. I’m really lucky, though, my husband cooks dinner most of the time anyway. He’s a much better cook than me, I’d rather bake something.
I want a treat after every meal, and I let myself have one once a day. Most of the time ;)
I love food tv…but I prefer the baking shows. I’m all about yummy treats!

Reply

last year i decided i was spending way too much getting my hair highlighted so i started doing it from a box myself…it looks pretty decent. i do need to make an appointment to get it cut though. i might go on the cheap and have my uncles husband cut it for me :)

hmm last time someone cooked for me….umm my uncle and his hubby made me and my boyfriend stuffed lamb. yummy!

and i always try to crave my sweet tooth – chocolate in any form (last night it was vanilla ice cream with peanut butter and chocolate syrup :) and i love the food network.

Reply

Let’s see…do I color my hair? Every 12 weeks like clockwork! Couldn’t go 2.8 years!

I can’t think of the last time someone cooked for me. How nice that would be!

I would like to get my hair colored dark again but it’s too expensive. Boo. and I always always go to the same person.. it would be very difficult for me to switch.
I’m ALWAYS looking for a little piece of chocolate after dinner. I remember when we were yonger my sister and I would go crazy looking for some. We NEEDED to fullfill that craving!

That is definitely signs of being a FABULOUS husband! You better be working on an awesome Valentine’s Day gift for him, if he’s willing to give you his froyo!

I have a serious sweet tooth. The last meal someone made for me was ribs/salad/steamed broccoli.

I do not have cable, so no food network for me.

I actually box color my hair, and I get it cut 1 – 2 times a year.

Reply

I literally just got my hair cut – which hadn’t been done since Aug/Sept :( hahaha

and I got bangs again…which I’m thinking was a huge mistake as they had finally grown out :P

also – I will be getting my hair dyed to my natural colour next week b/c I want what is left of the blonde OUT!

I used to dye my hair a lot but I actually like my natural brown colour

Reply

Um seriously Billy freaking rocks!!!! What in the heck is wrong with men and not craving fro-yo 24/7? so weird.

I color my hair like once every 5 years when I find a hair color box on clearence at biglots for 99 cents. And I sometimes get it cut once a year…..if I remember.

Reply

awww you have the best familiy! a sis that cuts your hair and makes you french toast AND a husband that sacrifices his free froyo for you!

I love it! I don’t color my hair as often as I should, I am trying to be as stealthy as possible about hiding my roots haha. I found an amazing and affordable hair person in SLC, she is AMAZING!

I love that your niece wanted to cut your hair, I bet she would have done a good job :)

Reply

I color my hair out of a box- it works great!! I do it every 6 weeks or so…

My cousin cooked chicken Parmesan on Monday for the bachelor and it was delicious! She cooks every Monday so I’m thankful for that!!

I’ve been craving yogurt w/ cinnamon and fruit- it’s so delicious. And fro yo! Always fro yo.

Reply

Your niece is adorable!

YAH for hair awesomeness :) I like something sweet-usually after dinner -too. YUMM

Reply

I do color my hair but I’m soooo lazy about it! I often wait until it’s absolutely necessary. I also go with the sun, chlorine, and lemon wedge method in the summer :). Hmm the last meal someone cooked for me…my mom made me whole wheat pasta with veggies and a cheesy sauce. I don’t know how she made it, but I do know the sauce was healthy (no butter or cream) and soooooooo delicious!!! Seriously, moms are the best chefs. I totally have a sweet tooth after dinner. I usually go for dark chocolate covered almonds or pomegranate seeds or m&ms yummy. Love food network. Giada is my girl (but she doesn’t know it…creepy?)

Reply

THAT is a sign of a good one–Giving up his fro-yo for you (even tho he didn’t want it!). Curly gets cuter EVERY post! Props to your sis for the haircut–I have my mom cut mine when I’m home too to save $$.

I use Sun-In occasionally–I know, I know, gasp, it’s bad for my hair, but it doesn’t hurt in the least ;)

Why have I not purchased a Food Network magazine yet?

Reply

Your niece is possibly the cutest kid in the entire universe, especially since she has to wear princess costumes all the time.. How precious is that?!

I LOVE the Food Network. I love to cook, but I often need inspiration, whether it’s a picture, recipe or watching someone make something. Giada de Laurentiis is my favourite but Michael Smith and Paula Deen are awesome too!!

BTW I had to go to Cold Stone yesterday. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about fro yo all week from the picture you posted the other day and Cold Stone was the closest thing I could find!! It was GOOD!

Another thing we have in common, our older sisters are hair stylists. I only let my sister cut, color or highlight my hair. I have had anything from bleach blonde hair, orange (this was in high school when my sister first started cosmetology school and forgot to tone my hair. I wasn’t happy), auburn, brunette and black. I haven’t colored or done anything but cut my hair in the last 4 years. I figure when I start to gray, I’ll go blonde again. The last person to cook for me was my mom and it was over Christmas. She is the best and that is her love language. Yes, I have a sweet tooth after dinner. I usually have one of my IsaDelights. I used to tame it by eating a spoonful of peanut butter. Love the Food Network but can’t watch it often because I would make everything and not have enough people to feed.

Reply

I’ve been getting highlights for about 5 years now. I am pretty fussy about who does them (because I panic about what my hair’d look like if it went wrong!). But I’m pretty rubbish at getting them done regularly!

And the last meal someone cooked for me? Erm… A post-christmas roast dinner with lots and lots of gravy! It was yummy :)

Reply

I get my hair highlighted, and it needs it BADLY at the moment. I get my hair cut every 6 weeks or so, and my highlights I think every 10 weeks (although I’m way over that now). I always go to the samer person – I have since I was old enough to get my hair cut. She is one of my close friends and also my personal training client. I could never afford her (aveda salon = very pricey), but luckily we swap out her workouts for my hair cuts, highlights, brow waxing, makeup, and aveda products. It’s a nice little setup. :)

Daniel cooked shrimp fajitas for me Monday night – they were delicious!

I most definitely have a sweet tooth after dinner. It varies what I do to satisfy it, but I rarely ignore it.

I’m a FN freak. Love it!

Reply

I haven’t watched much on the food network, except for when my lovely cousin WON chopped a week or two ago!!!!!!

I wait waaaaay too long between haircuts/highlights, I reallly need to get my highlights redone.

Did you see the part about the Chocolate Festival in that magazine? It’s held in Southern Oregon every year and is amazing! You should come for the chocolate and visit me! =)

Billy is too funny! When Dear Hubby and I would get ice cream from the local place back in Michigan, we would drive home and then immediately place them in the freezer so that we could get into jammies to fully enjoy. Then when I was finger-licking the sides of my cup, he would say, “Well I think I’ll save a little for tomorrow.” UGH!

Reply

Yay for your hair color! Mine has blond highlights so I have to touch it up often.
I have a huge sweet tooth after dinner. I usually eat ice cream :) we don’t have any fro-yo places near us :(

Nope, I don’t color my hair. I feel lucky that I like my hair color so I can save some major bucks and time on the coloring thing. I’m trying out different people still since moving to TX, but hopefully I’ll find a favorite. Last meal someone made for me? I can’t even remember.

Reply

I am super cheap when it comes to my hair so I try to go as long as I can between colorings. I’m in the process of trying to find a new stylist since my last one fried my hair when she did highlights (I guess you get what you pay for). I have an appt on Friday with a new girl so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

I have colored my hair myself for years. I only color it to cover up all the, um, gray that I have. I look way to young to have all this gray hair I have naturally earned through my years of teaching, having kids, working with kids at church, riding up Pike’s Peak with hubby driving etc. Waaaaaaaay to young looking. I get my hair cut every few months since I keep it long. I go to the same lady I found when I moved here 5 years ago.

I don’t remember the last meal someone cooked for me unless you count hubby picking up pizza for me or making popcorn (the old fashioned way on the stove) for me.

I have a terrible sweet tooth. I am trying to drop 5 pounds before my next half (less gut to carry those 13.1 miles) so I have been either having just ONE chocolate kiss or a banana and putting some carmel syrup over it, just a little.

Reply

Love love love Food Network. Unfortunately I have to watch it when I’m at a friends house because I’m far too cheap to pay for cable..

I usually get my hair cut and colored every 3 months. But this time, I waited 4 months and it is a hot mess! I’m going on Saturday and I can’t wait. I found a woman who does a really nice job for a really good price … I’m praying I can find someone as great when we move south!

And yes, I love the Food Network. “Cupcake Wars” is one of my favorites!!

My sister does my hair :) Although I haven’t colored it in forever. She told me last weekend that I have a natural Ombre. I don’t know if that’s good or bad, lol!

Sweet tooth is always rockin. Froyo or Hot Chocolate seems to cure it :)

I love Food Network. Love it.

OK You officially just inspired me to stop procrastinating and make a hair appointment. I used to highlight my hair but that got WAY too expensive so I’ve been using the non-permanent box dyes on it for a couple years while it grows out. Now I kind of have a cheap version of the ombre trend going on but I’m ready to go back to having one color of hair – my normal color! Making an appointment today.

And I am a HUGE food network lover. One of the winners of Cupcake Wars has a shop by my office!

Yes, I color (when my grays bother me), YES, a HUGE sweet tooth (good thing I run or it would definitely be really bad), Yes, the Hubs makes dinner for me (we take turns but I prefer to go out), and YES I LOVE FOOD NETWORK! I almost cried when I got this issue! It’s beautiful. :)

I have been coloring my hair since I was 18 years old, first out of the box and then I went to the salon. My hairdresser is a good friend of mine and she has been doing my hair forever it seems. She gives me a pretty good discount, so it’s not a fortune.

I highlight my hair every 3 month with my trusted hair dresser that does it out of her home. She’s good and cheap, just the way I like it.

My favorite snack to cure a sweet tooth is ShaSha Organic Spelt Lemon Snap Cookies (http://www.shashabread.com/snaps-cookies/) with tea.

As a hairdresser, reading through these comments is giving me anxiety!! Ha ha ha ha. I am atimate about coloring my roots every 4-5 weeks but I am growing my hair out so I am terrible about getting haircuts. In fact, I’ve had 2 haircuts since August. Yikes!! If I ever move back to Utah I will trade you. You can be my running coach, and I will color your hair.

I always need something sweet after dinner. Usually its a few pieces of 90% dark chocolate. Brandon thinks chocolate that dark is too bitter but I love it.

I have gone to the same lady for haircuts for forever! Why change up a good thing, right? Your sis must be pretty good at hair…. that or you are very brave! I would NOT trust either of my sisters with a pair of scissors and my hair!

Love the Food Network!! You would think as much as I watch it that I would actually branch out and cook a somewhat elaborate meal… but no. I leave that to Brandon and then I do the dishes. Works for me! :)
