Almost everyone was excited about my family birthday party except for the one that decided to take a nap on the floor and cover her face with a coat. Party pooper.
When my mom asked me what I wanted for dinner I came up with a very detailed list of what everyone was in charge of.
My aunt was to bring a bowl (that could fit my nieces) of salad, ranch and homemade croutons (I am not demanding at all).
My grandma was in charge of the fruit, my sis in charge of the french bread (because I know she would add the right amount of garlic on it…20 cloves) and my mom’s famous lasagna. You can see last year that I requested the exact same cheesy/noodle/tomato happiness and I have requested this same dish every year that I have been able to eat solid foods.
It was my Dad’s bday party too! One of my favorite things is that my Dad and I have shared our birthdays every year. He turned 60 this year wahooooo and got a Kindle Fire and hasn’t looked away from the screen for the last 10 hours…Mom, he likes it:)
Billy and I were in charge of dessert. Funfetti. 4 layers. 2 boxes of mix, 2 cans of frosting and one jar of sprinkles. You cannot say that funfetti is not the best cake in the world and next year we are going to go for a 6 layer cake.
Looks like I will be eating Subway and chocolate covered cinnamon bears for the rest of the week. It also looks like I won ‘The Run Across America’ (artwork done by my nephew) which is kind of a big accomplishment.
What better way to start your bday morning than with a run, followed by a fun day at school and lots of Billy time after school. PS today is the last day you will have to hear anything more about my birthday, I promise.

I’ve never had OR hosted a surprise party… which is probably for the best – I’m terrible at that sort of thing!
Best birthday gift is a toss up between three all from my bf: a beautiful Tiffany necklace, a even MORE BEAUTIFUL pale yellow bike with a basket (who I named Buttercup :D), and a BASEBALL (for massaging myself! this was probably partly just for his own benefit…he’s a personal trainer and i’m ALWAAAAAAAAAYS making him give me massages!).
My birthday is not til August but I’m already compiling a shortlist of cakes for my mum to make :p (now that I don’t live at home, and my parents live about 2 hours away, they are SUPER into spoiling me… mostly with food. It’s awesome. I should’ve moved out YEARS ago!!!)
