Triple Tangent Tuesday

You don’t have to tell me but I know that your absolute favorite about Tuesdays is this triple tangent post.  You look forward to it, you dream about it and you keep checking back hoping it will be up.  Okay, I am being completely sarcastic because 3/4ths of Tuesdays I forget that it is actually Tuesday and the times that I do write a TTT the three things I write about probably make you wonder how I ever graduated from college.  So, here we go……..

1.  I don’t know if this was just a rumor in Utah but I always heard as a kid that if you collect 10 tootsie pop wrappers that HAVE a star on them than you get a sucker for free.

Photo

I am up to 9 (the rest are at home) and I am wondering where in the world I can redeem my wrappers for my free sucker.  This better be true, I have been looking forward to it for a while.

——————————————————-

2.  Last night we had a Skype date with my in-laws.  Don’t get used to the lack of random things all over our carpet, it will not be like that for long.

Photo copy

My Father-In-Law is taking a picture of me taking a picture of them.   Technology these days.  We stayed up really late chatting and then I decided to take a shower and wash my hair at 11 pm.  I really don’t know who I am anymore.  This translated into sleeping in until 7:10, which was glorious but I am craving a good sweat and so Billy and I will be doing a night run together and I can’t wait to try and hurdle the ice.

————————————————————–

3.   All I can think about eating tonight for dinner is a grilled cheese sandwich.

Screen Shot 2012 01 10 at 8 51 46 AM

Is it weird to spend your break in between classes looking at a slideshow online (SOURCE) of all the best grilled cheese sandwiches in the country?  Yes, yes it is.   The above sandwich is my number one pick of the best looking grilled cheese.

Billy, I will make this for us for dinner (secret code for I can’t wait for you to make this for me in a few hours).

———————————————————————-

Tell me about some TANGENTS about you?!?!?

What do you want for dinner tonight?

Do you use Skype?  Who do you Skype with?

Do you ever wash your hair at night?

We skype all the time now that we live in a different State than fam. Our family watched us open Christmas presents this year via skype. It was awesome.

Sometimes I wash my hair at night when I don’t get around to showering until my hubby gets home. Such is the life of a stay-at-home mom who always chooses working out over showering :)

Reply

Working out is way more important than showering! That is so fun that your fam was able to watch you open presents!

Reply

I am having chicken tortilla soup and I cannot wait! I have never used Skype. Only sometimes wash my hair at night, usually in the morning.

Beecher’s cheese is based here in Seattle and it is SO good. Yum!

Reply

Now I am jealous of your soup AND the fact that you get to go get a grilled cheese from Beecher’s whenever you want! I must come visit you!

Reply

I always wash my hair at night. I can’t be taking the time to blow dry it so that’s my only option in Denver winters!!!!! :) I skype with lots of my friends back in the Dominican Republic. And most importantly, I had grilled cheese for lunch. :)
And in the crockpot: red rice & beans. Totally excited about that!

Reply

Your dinner sounds awesome and I am glad you had grilled cheese for lunch! Seriously, blow drying hair is a waste of time!

Reply

Mmm, grilled cheese! I am going to try a new recipe tonight I sort of made up, this tofu stir fry concoction with some of annie chun’s all natural spicy chicken ramen noodles. Should be interesting!

Have a great run!

Reply

YUM!!! I want to hear all about your dinner and how it was!

Reply

I heard the same thing about star tootsie pops. I grew up in kansas.
We had turkey bacon, turkey, avocado, and colby jack grilled sandwiches the other day. They were delicious.

Hope you have a great evening.

Reply

Okay, your sandwich sounds incredible! A few comments below is posted the link that it is a myth about the star on the wrappers….I am very hurt right now.

Reply

Dusty..that sounds AMAZING!!!

Reply

It is delicious and easy to make.

Reply

oh you gotta love the skype fun! we have been skyping up a storm here too. My nieces and nephews have way too much fun!

Reply

SO SO FUN to Skype with nieces and nephews, that is my favorite!

Reply

I too grew up with the tootsie roll rumor but it looks like we have to count this among the urban legends we love so much. http://urbanlegends.about.com/od/business/a/tootsie_pop.htm

Sad!

Reply

Sarah,
Thank you so much for clearing this up for me. I have wondered about this for way too long. This is sad!! I guess I will just have to go eat some more to make myself happy again. Thanks!

Reply

I agree, it is sad. :(

Reply

I remember this from growing up. And it wasn’t a legend where I am from. I went to school in a small little town in Indiana called Battle Ground and at the trading post in this town we could trade in our wrappers with an indian shooting a star for a free tootsie pop!

Reply

I have totally heard the star rumor and it HAS to be true. I have my fingers crossed for you.

I want the taco soup that I have in the crockpot at this very moment!!

I wash my hair at night ALL THE TIME. Its easier for me to do in the morning that way. WEIRD.

I live in SEATTLE and can have that Beechers Grilled Cheese anytime I want. JEALOUS??? ;-)

Reply

BEYOND JEALOUS!!! I need to get up there asap! Thanks for crossing your fingers! Enjoy your taco soup tonight!

Reply

I wash my hair at night a few times a week. I have to straighten and flat iron it and sometimes it is just easier to get it done at night. My husband makes fun of me for it, but I also use dry shampoo on days I don’t have time to wash/dry/flat iron. It works really well.

We’re having chicken soft tacos for dinner tonight, but your grilled cheese looks better!

Reply

I need to get dry shampoo….I hate washing my hair! ENJOY YOUR TACOS!

Reply

Well I am just in from the hardest spin class I have ever done, hello jelly legs. Love that feeling though. I always wash my hair at night, that’s when I work out so it has to be done. Otherwise it would not be a pretty situation. It would also be smelly.

Just had a wrap with curry and some homemade soup. I really know how to push the boat out for dinner. Enjoy your sandwich!

Reply

AWESOME job on that killer spin class! It really is the best feeling ever. Your meal sounds AMAZING…I am jealous!

Reply

Don’t know why but never Skype … I did just face-time with two of my college best friends for the first time this weekend and we wondered why we don’t do it more often.

Definitely believed in the tootsie roll legend but we seemed to only remember when unwrapping – I don’t think anyone ever collected 10.

Reply

Ha, I could do face time but I have never done it! You inspired me to try it.

Reply

That grilled cheese looks so good!!! My favorite grilled cheese is one with BRIE and colby jack.. and of course dipped into some tomato basil soup :)

I thought I wanted Panera but now I’m feeling the grilled cheese.. or Pappa Murphy’s Pizza.. I have no clue, I’m starved!

I used Fring (Android Skype) when my bf was out of town it worked okay but skype on the computer works better! and I like how you at least have to be ‘logged in’… this new iPhone ‘face time’ thing freaks me out a little lol the bf’s mom calls him via ‘facetime’ sometimes early in the morning on the weekend… at least let us wake up and shower before we’re made to video conference :)

And speaking of showers YES I shower at night about half the time because if I get in a workout late in the day I can’t stand to be all schhweatty for long. You’re welcome :)

Tangents: I may be looking at buying a HOUSE. And yes, I do add point value for proximity to good running trails LOL!

Reply

I am also a teacher and I do enjoy your TTTs. Tuesdays are some of my favorite days.
I love to look at random food things on the internet. Some of the best recipes I’ve created came from an internet inspiration.

Reply

HEY KENT!! What do you teach? This makes me really happy!

Reply

I teach 3rd – 7th language arts and I love it. I really do enjoy reading your blog. It’s nice to know that there are other random people out there that love fitness, food, church and their family. Not to mention teaching :)

Reply

I totally want that grilled cheese. In fact….was going to write about a tangent, but now all I can think about is the grilled cheese!!!!!!! I really hope Billy pulls through for your sake!

Reply

Mmmmm. Grilled cheese! That’s exactly what we are having for dinner tonight!
Would you believe that I’ve never skyped? My parents live (no lie) 0.1 mile away and the Huz’s live one town over- so no need maybe?
I always wash my hair at night cos I have a gross and dirty job..

Reply

mmm that grilled cheese looks amazing! now i want one for dinner… we’re going out for dinner to meet cody’s aunt since she’s in town. we’re going to cafe trio… ever been? i looked up the menu and it looks pretty good! i’m stoked.

Reply

I love grilled cheese’s!
Supper tonight is baked sweet potatoes topped with veggie chili, Greek yogurt and cilantro – I cannot wait!
Nope, never skyped!
And I rarely wash my hair at night, usually every other morning.

Reply

What I want for dinner is for someone else to cook! I usually only Skype with my hubby when he is on a work trip. When I was in high school I used to wash my hair at night so I didn’t have to get up any earlier. Now I only do it if I dont get my morning shower in.

Reply

Yes we skype! Mostly with my family in Texas. It is so fun and I love to see the look on Daddaw’s face when he sees us on the computer. He is in his 90s and thinks it is simply amazing! He can’t hardly hear us but he laughs the whole time so we think we are super funny even though we know he is laughing because he is amazed. Its soooo cute!

Reply

I’m pretty sure the stars DO mean you get a free lolly – or a prize – or it’s just some horrible, horrible trick they’re playing on us!!

I used to use skype but now I generally use g chat video chat or ichat video chat to talk to my college friends – particularly when we’re watching the same trashy tv show or getting ready to go out so we can pretend we’re together :)

Reply

Some of you peeps are obviously too young. Back in the day in good old PG Utah you could take 1 (that’s right just 1) toostie pop wrapper, with an Indian shooting a star, to V & S and get a free toostie pop. Apparently no one told V & S it was just a hoax.

Reply

WHAT!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH Jessie, how did I miss out on this. I am actually upset because I would have at least 500 free suckers if I knew about this. Oh well, I guess I will just go buy them now. Have a great day Jessie!

Reply

I did this too as a kid1 I remember just collecting the wrappers with the star and taking them to Safeway. I was born in the 80’s so it wasn’t too long ago that they did that, at least here in Oregon.

Reply

I almost always wash my hair at night and let it go natural. Only on my off days so I was during the sunshine part of the day and then dry it straight. When its straight I can pull off dirty hair for days! :-)
Tangent…hmmmm
1. Power Yoga
2. Wondering around TJ Maxx
3. Shopping for diapers and wipes for a friend and getting completely freaked out by all the choices.

Reply

Wooohoo night run! Be careful-do.not.slip on the ice (you know I learned this the hard way!!!).
I ALWAYS wash my hair at night. I have no idea why. Now that I think of it, it’s actually kind of weird.

Reply

I always thought that about tootsie pops too. I saved up a ton with stars as a kid, but could never find a store or place that would give me my free tootsie pop. BTW, are you a sucker? I’ve always tried sucking the tootsie pop all the way down (remember the commercials?), but only ever last a few minutes before I take a bite. My son is massively talented though. Whenever he has a sucker he sucks it all the way down to the stick. Never takes a bite. I don’t know where he gets the patience.

Oh, and we love skype and google video chat. Since we’re living in New Zealand right now that’s the only way to see our family and friends.

Reply

I am definitely a sucker ha! I love that you asked that!! I take a bite when it gets to the tootsie roll. YOU LIVE IN NEW ZEALAND?!?! That is so cool and I am majorly jealous!

Reply

I’ve heard the same thing about tootsie pops, but I think it may be something they used to do a long time ago and don’t do anymore. And for dinner, I don’t know what I’m getting! I’m going to dinner with my mom, her friend, and her friend’s daughter!

Reply

Tonight for dinner was bbq and brussel sprouts! So good!

I skype with my sister and nephew. Not often, because they live like 15 mins. away, but its still fun!

I never usually wash my hair at night. If I do, I’d get too tired to blow dry it…and I’d wake up looking like I stuck my finger in a socket. It would not be pretty.

Reply

Beecher’s Cheese is amazing. They also have the best mac n cheese I have ever had! I used to go there way more than I want to admit when I lived in Seattle. I moved to CO and occasionally crave their cheese…

Reply

Okay, now I have to have some mac n cheese too. Let’s take a blogger trip to Seattle to go to Beecher’s!

Reply

there is actually a Tootsie Roll (and Junior Mint) factory near the lab I work at. therefore whenever you come to Boston to kill it in the marathon I can also try to help you trade in your star wrappers.

Tonight for dinner I am having a massive concoction of spinach , broccoli, cauliflower, salsa, black beans, avocado, and cheese. YUM

Reply

You would help me do that;) You are the greatest, thanks so much Megan. Um….your salad thingee sounds INCREDIBLE!

Reply

Tonight’s dinner is Roasted Chickpea Tacos…mmmmm!

I love Skype! My family is all over the country so we check in with each other every week. I’ve been able to see and speak with my nephews from the day they were born because of Skype.

Reply

I’ve never heard of that tootsie pop thing but I hope you get a free one!!!
I had a salad with chicken, black beans, and corn. I made it mexican.
I skype sometimes with family or academic adviors (weird)

Reply

Hey! I just wanted to say that I love your site and I’ve been reading it as I’ve been training for my second half marathon which I ran on Saturday! Same exact time as the first but with the ability to walk after which to me was a success! I just wanted to say that’s for allowing me to use your blog as a source of motivation!

Reply

KATE!!! Your comment made my day! CONGRATS on running your second 1/2 marathon on Saturday! You are incredible and I am so glad you were able to walk afterwards ha. Have a great day and keep in touch!

Reply

That sandwich looks so good! I remember collecting all the tootsie pop wrappers with a star when I was younger. I always thought they were special, then I started thinking maybe they’re what the guy is shooting at with his arrow.
Tonight for dinner we’re having baked pasta – I love baked pasta. I don’t really love regualr pasta, but when it’s baked, it’s so much better!

Reply

We had french toast and suasage for dinner.
I have never Skyped.
I may have looked at the same slide show – the sandwiches look amazing.
Tangent – I am a Groupon junkie and if my husband didn’t stop me I would buy every cosmetic procedure/beauty product/ massage offered.

Reply

I look at recipes and food pictures all the time … I don’t think it’s weird at all! It would be weirder if you were looking at … like … plants, or something (yeah, I don’t know … I couldn’t come up with something funny!). ;)

Reply

I had grilled cheese tonight! So simple yet so delicious. And now it is time for ice cream.

Reply

ENJOY YOUR ICE CREAM….I am going to have to copy you!

Reply

I am bad about showering on a regular basis…it’s just such a hassle to wash my hair on a daily basis….

I will say sometimes I do like washing my hair the night before going to work the next morning because I like saving a few minutes of rushing around in the morning!

Reply

I heard you got a free t-shirt if you got the indian and the star. I think it’s an urban legend.

For dinner I made pizza with spinach, feta, and tomato. It was glorious.

I used to HAVE to shower and wash my hair at night when I was younger. I have some strange OCD tendencies.

I don’t use Skype, but I do use gmail video chat.

Reply

Think I’m pretty boring – not many tangents going on today….I would have liked someone to cook for me for dinner, but I made a roasted vegetable brown rice pasta dish. pretty freakin’ good if you ask me. I used to add shrimp to it, but I got the stomach bug the day after the last time I ate shrimp, so no more shrimp for me. which is sad because I used to love shrimp:( there’s a tangent for you.
I go through phases with the hair washing – right now I try not to wash it more than twice a week, totally gross, I know, but I’m trying to preserve the color. which you probably can’t even see the nice color because it’s always greasy. should probs get dry shampoo – for another day!
jealous you got to sleep in, and you get a nice night run with the hubs…have fun!!!

Reply

What is a sucker? Over in New England, they were always called lollipops. And we had a store around here that would give you a free tootsie pop with a wrapper with a star on it. Maybe its legit, maybe the guy just wanted to get rid of us. Who knows.

Reply

Lollipops?!?! Okay, we call them that too but not very often. WHAT!?! I wonder if that store still takes them…if yes, I am flying over!

Reply

Hi Janae!

1. Yesterday I was in the mood for tofu, black beans, and spaghetti squash, so I created a concoction of all three, in a tomato sauce, and today we had the leftovers! yum :)

2. I skype with my mom/family because I just moved across the country last September :( I also skype with the man-friend when either of us go anywhere for a long (read: more than 2 day) period of time.

3. I used to shower LATE at night whilst studying because it kept me awake for another couple of hours.

I actually prefer to shower at night because I like the way my hair looks when I’ve slept on it wet… weird? perhaps.

ALSO: I’m pretty sure I spend about 80% of my life looking at pictures of food or recipes.

Reply

Wahoo for getting in a shower–I finally did today too (to wash my hair I mean–i shower daily. No worries there. hehe)

Have fun on the run!!

p.s. I like your secret code…..might have to use that one ;)

Reply

Love love love your tangents. It reminded me to post some too!

And I also grew up thinking that about Tootsie pops! Apparently MA and UT know what’s up, but I’ve never tried to redeem them either….

Reply

I want some greek yogurt and frozen berries for dessert. MMMmmmm. Sounding good right now. (Dinner was grilled chicken and veggie stir fry).

Tangent? I just got a new (used) grand piano- something I’ve wanted MY WHOLE LIFE. Big happy smile.

I never wash my hair at night. Too annoying to have get all messy during sleep. (And I freeze if I haven’t dried it good enough).

Reply

I have never heard that about tootsie pops, but then again, I don’t really like them much (I know, I know, blasphemy!)

I use Skype occasionally to talk to my boyfriend, but that’s it. I like to text people or talk in person… not a fan of video chat or talking on the phone for some reason.

I always wash my hair in the morning. It gets greasy overnight if I sleep on it dry, and if I sleep on it wet, I end up looking like something out of an 80’s horror movie the next morning. :)

Reply

I only shower after I work out- f I don’t work out, I don’t have to shower, right? So if it’s a morning workout I (might) take a morning shower, and if it’s a post-work workout, I shower at night! As long as I’m not climbing into bed gross, I’m cool with waiting :)

Reply

Grilledcheesesocial.com is a drool-worthy grilled cheese site. Putting cheese on the OUTSIDE of the bread is something I am totally addicted to thanks to that site.

I only wash my hair before I start my day. It’s short and I cant fix it if it greasy or dirty.

I love toostie pops! I have not had one in sooo long!

Reply

Tanya, I will forever love you because of that amazing link to the grilled cheese site and I have to try it on the outside, you are the best!

Reply

I always heard the same thing about tootsie pops when I was growing up in California. I like to think it’s true…
Btw – my boyfriend and I are making grilled cheese & soup for dinner tonight. So excited, and rather timely given your post tonight! I’m going to make him take me to that Seattle place next time we go!

Reply

I have heard about the star wrappers too! I have NO idea what they mean, but definitely think they are special.

My sister in law lives in Austria with her husband. We Skype with them and other family sometimes. It’s such a great way to stay in touch!

We had leftovers for dinner, but I am still hungry!!

I always wash my hair at night. I let it dry and then do something with it after my AM workouts. Less time washing = more sleep!!

Reply

Just found your blog a few days ago, and I love it.

Reply

my hair gets greasy SO easily/fast (yes, apparently i am still a pre-pubescent 13 year old) so i always wash it in the morning before work.

that grilled cheese looks to die for! i hope yours was equally as amazing!

Reply

I use to collect the star wrappers as a kid too! I heard that you had to have the whole Indian with the boy for it to be valid though. No idea if I actually traded any in!
I shower at night most days because it saves me time in the morning.

Reply

Random tangent – In high school, we used to have a school store that sold candy for like 10 cents. We convinced the ladies that ran the school store (usually one of the student’s moms) that if you found 1 tootsie roll pop with a star you could get a free one. They totally bought it. We had this scam going on for months until they finally found out somehow and refused to give us free candy.

We just got the ipad2. I am loving video chatting with my family and not being tied behind a computer!

Reply

If I workout at night, I do wash my hair, but I am a morning shower person. I am super weird when it comes to showers….I could take like 3 a day if I could get away with it. ;)
I have skype on my computer, but have yet to use it. :/
I wanted some salmon and roated veggies….I had cereal.

Have a great night!

Reply

Mac and cheese. That’s all I can think about for dinner!

Reply

I went and donated blood tonight, so I am having a Healthy Choice meal at 9:22 :(

I had some issues with my blood wanting to keep giving. They made me drink gatorade, ice my arm..etc :(

Reply

I remember hearing that about Tootsie Pops when I was younger! I never saw anyone get a free sucker though. Darn it!

I wash my hair at night on the weekends, but during the week I wash it in the morning and just rinse off before going to bed at night. It’s a little OCD of me, but I right public transportation to/from work and just can’t be comfy in my bed until I shower!

Reply

I hate my blow dryer so I wash my hair and shower at night whenever possible. Morning workouts lead to morning showers though- which usually lead to going to work with wet hair!

Reply

For dinner I had a burger and fries with a shake. Not healthy, but it was delicious!
I do skype once in a while with a friend who lives in France, but definitely not often enough!
I hope you got your grilled cheese sandwich because it looks delicious.

Reply

My mom told me that Tootsie pop rumor when I was a kid! I think the only way you can redeem it is if you get in a time machine back to the 50s…

Reply

I wish i could wash my hair at night! But if i lay on it, it gets all wavy.

Reply

When I lived in Fayetteville, AR, there was a place that was a grilled cheese place. It was AMAZING. Whenever I met people for lunch I always suggested it. I’m just saying…people the waiters MIGHT have known my name.

Reply

You’re so cute! :) I was told the same thing a looong time ago about the tootsie wrappers. I collected the star ones for the longest time…never knew how to redeem them. If you find out please tell me! :)

I’ve never skyped. Not that hip. But, sounds fun! :)

What I WANTED for dinner…sushi. But, I made curry chicken.

tangent – my first job in the United States after I left Okinawa was McDonald’s. I loved closing at night because I was able to take the leftover apple pie’s home to my dad. I got lots of daughter points for that! I met Montel Williams at the drive-thru one time. He lives in Henderson, NV @ the time. I was a little star struck. :)

Reply

You met MONTEL!! That is awesome. I had no idea that you worked at Mcdonalds! Now I am craving an apple pie ha. You better get some sushi for date night this week. LOVE YOU!

Reply

I skyped with Lindsay Cotter last week (or the week before)! I love skype. Billy and I used to skype when we were long-distance. such great technology! we picked up dinner from whole foods tonight – happy belly.

Reply

okay, i’ve heard the SAME thing about tootsie roll pops…please let’s figure this thing out once and for all once u’ve got one more…report back! :)

dinner tonight…i think i’m in need of some noodles and shrimp.

Reply

For dinner, I had a salad and a tortilla with hummus. Boring I know…

Growing up you could take the tootsie rolls with stars on them and get a free sucker. We used to do it all the time. My grandparents also owned a candy store, needless to say I ate candy every night for dinner and I always got in trouble for it when I got home!

Reply

Oh man I completely forgot about Tootsie Pops…as a kid, I was a “sucker” for them :)! And washing hair in the way forward in terms of efficiency…think about it: less shower time=more workout time! That bit of your FIL taking a pic of you taking a pic is hilarious! And just for the record (because I know you have been waiting and itching for the day to come): I am finally satisfying the Mexican craving which your nacho post spurred on: I have a brown rice and fajita chicken bowl for lunch :)!

Reply

The Tootsie Roll rumor spread in elementary schools in Colorado too! If you find out that it is not a rumor, and you actually get a free one, you must tell me. It will fulfill my little 6 year old dreams.

I had exactly what I wanted for dinner tonight: pasta. Which is essentially what I want for dinner every night, but I also want to fit into my pants so… I have to space out my pasta evenings.

I usually shower and wash my hair in the morning or early afternoon. And by “usually” I mean that I wash my hair maybe twice a week. In fact, lately it’s been getting down to sometimes once a week. I am slightly afraid that I will wake up with dreadlocks one morning, but not enough to actually wash my hair more often!

Reply

thank you for giving me a sweet childhood memory :) Yes- that indian with a star thing- I so remember that!!! ;)

Reply

Oh my gosh, I seem to be surrounded by grilled cheese sandwiches at the moment! My boyfriend keeps making them and I am so trying to be healthy!! I do use Skype, mainly to chat with my friends in New Zealand. If I can use a real phone, I much prefer to, but it’s so great using video too. Especially when you get to see their kids getting bigger etc.
I wash my hair at night in summer, as our apartment gets really hot. In winter though I do it whenever I’ll have the time right after to blow dry it.
Enjoy your evening run!

Reply

hahaha no, it’s totally normal to look at pictures of food :-P that grilled cheese looks amazing! I haven’t had grilled cheese in a a reeeeeeaaly long time. I like to make them in my waffle maker (like a panini press) cuz its faster than on the stove so then I can eat it faster haha! I never wash my hair at night unless I worked out in the afternoon…which is very very rarely lol. morning person through and through!

Reply

I always heard that about the tootsie pops too, but I heard you got a free bag of suckers! :)

I always wash my hair at night on Mondays and Tuesdays because those are the days I teach back to back classes at the gym and am ridiculously sweaty. However, even if I wash my hair at night, I still shower and wash my hair the next morning. I wish I had hair that could be washed at night and look fine the next day, but unfortunately that’s not the case. Enjoy your night run and grilled cheese!

Reply

I always wash my hair at night because I have a LOT of curly hair, but always wish I could just do it quickly in the morning. I want breakfast for dinner tonight! Egg sandwich, yes please! I skype with my sisters in different states (and am always jealous you get dinner with yours on the regular)

I think this was yesterdays post but some songs I’ve been running to:
Shake it out- Manchester Orchestra
The Naked and Famous – Young Blood
Midnight City – M83 (so excited to speed this one up with garage band!) :)

Reply

I ALWAYS wash my hair at night, I can’t really blow dry my hair cause it turns into a 80’s hair band doo so I alawys wash it the night before, braid it and then sleep, usually in the morning it’s still a bit wet but not to bad.

I’ve never used skype, I honestly despise talking to people via phone/video etc. I’d rather text or talk to people in person, I’m weird that way.

I have Beef & Broccoli Stir Fry on the menu tonight! Grilled cheese does sound uber yummy though ..

Reply

Supper tonight = haven’t decided yet… but it’s now looking like some fancy grilled cheese might have to be on the menu. Thanks for that :)

Hair washing at night? Yes. I usually run and swim in the evenings because I’m a sea creature in the mornings and have long since given up on trying to be a morning person. It’s just not going to happen. So showers usually happen late at night (and bonus = 10 more minutes of sleep in the am! Win!) The downside is my hair dries into wild bed head as I sleep and I look like a swamp being the next day. Worth it? Oh yes!

Reply

haha thanks, now I want a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch!

I never wash my hair at night because going to bed with wet hair leads to a scary fro the next morning…yay for curly hair :/

Reply

ditto on the star on the wrapper thing. only, i never nkew it was 10? i just thought it was 1? you could have 10 suckers if you go by my rule. ps, i always wondered where you cashed them in? haha.

Reply

I love Skype! I was able to chat with my husband when he was overseas in Afghanistan. :-)

Reply

I’m 33 and growing up in Oregon you only had to have 1 Indian in the Tootsie Pop wrapper, and when I did I walked to the mom & pop store and they totally gave you a free one! It was awesome :)
