My Favorite Hobby:

Is spoiling my nieces and nephews.

My sis told me that my little niece had set out exactly what she wanted to wear for our date in the morning before school because she was so excited.  She has only been counting down the days until last night since our last date.

We first had to fuel up with her favorite, Wendy’s!  I had chili and a salad.  I don’t know why Billy orders the small size of fries, he should know by now that I will end up eating all of his and he will be left with just one of the ‘too crispy’ fries.  He really should just get two orders of them….when will he learn?

After a riveting conversation about recess, Christmas presents and jelly beans we were off to part two of the date.

The dollar store. Her mom is going to love the fact that we bought her a recorder.  She will really love that we got her lots of sugar to fuel the recorder playing.   I think the Minnie Mouse jump rope was my favorite thing that she picked out, did I ever tell you that I was the best jump roper on our whole playground in elementary school…and in high school.

Really, this wasn’t my idea.  I will say my heart got really happy when she requested a froyo stop.

When we got back we decided to be kind and share the flaming hot cheetohs.  Does it make me a bad person that I taught Curly that if she wanted to make the cheetohs not so hot she should just blow on them to cool them off?

I think it does but at least I shared.

Ok the resemblance between you and your neice is uncanny..is she into running yet? Clearly the fro yo addiction has already worn off :)!

Reply

I am teaching her everything I know:) She has done a one mile race and she rocked it:)

Reply

My last date was last night. We went to see New Years Eve, and I should have requested fro-yo too.

I don’t want to birth any kids, but I wouldn’t mind adopting one. I was adopted so I’d like to give another child the same love I got.

Reply

Did you like the movie? Maybe you should go to froyo tonight? That is so cool that you were adopted and you are wanting to adopt a child too!

Reply

This is too cute. I want to see some movies –I’m hoping for a date night this weekend to see one! That girl is clearly after your own heart!

Last night, we had the opening of Aladdin! It went very well – great audience!

last night, worked out at the gym with the hubs. as for my last date…every night is date night :) i love chili! have one child ( adopted daughter ) and do not plan on adopting any more.

My last date was on my BFs birthday. We hung out together all day, went to the museum and then for dinner.. Very fun!!

Reply

Last night I hung out with my son, baked Christmas tree sugar cookies, and watched a little bit of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the new version) while hubby was at the Rangers game. Luckily he brought Little Man home a Rangers tuque as consolation for not getting the auditors to cough up more tickets!

My last date was sushi with my husband at our favourite spot. We always go for sushi and I will never ever get tired of it.

I love chili but hubs can’t have kidney beans so I rarely make it. I feel like chili ain’t chili without beans!

We have one son and plan on having one more. My husband says if it’s a girl we will have TWO more because he wants two sons. I told him I hope he has lots of money to hire a surrogate. Ha!

How many kiddos do you want to have Janae?

Reply

She is TOO adorable. I went to my brother’s highschool Christmas choral concert last night. He did a mean Elvis-inspired “White Christmas” solo!

Reply

That is too adorable!! I bet that evening made her feel so special!

Reply

I had chili for lunch yesterday! I love it!

I was pretty awesome with a jump rope back in the day too. I could double dutch like nobody’s business.

Is it sad that I can’t remember my last real date?

your niece is so cute!!! you both have the same smile!
i am off to see my nieces today – ages 5 & 2. i see them every wednesday and is definitely a highlight of my week.
being an auntie is the BEST! way to go on letting your niece get the recorder!! haha!

You guys are such a great aunt and uncle!
Last night we went to the gym, and watched Glee :)
My last date was last month when the hubby treated me to a date morning – complete with Starbucks, breakfast and Christmas tree decorating. Next month is my turn…
LOVE chili! Perfect comfort food.
I want 2 kids, one of each please ;)

your nieces are so, so adorable! looks like a fun night to me! last night we were pretty boring… my husband had to work late, so i folded laundry and wrapped christmas presents. i guess i got some of the stuff i really don’t like out of the way tho!

my last date was with my hubs. i dragged him to see the new Twilight movie a couple weekends ago and of course we got fro yo afterward!

i LOVE chili! it’s one of my favorite things to eat during the colder months. it’s so satisfying and full of flavor.

we want 2 or 4 kids. we’re for sure going to have 2, and if we survive, then we’ll have 4. my husband doesn’t want an odd number, so we’ll see i guess! how many kids do YOU want, janae? :)

Last night I worked late, went to the gym, made dinner and worked on bloggin. Excited Tuesday night eh?

There is nothing I would like more than a few nieces and nephews…but sadly I am an only child and my husband’s sister is not planning on having children :( In turn I have had to have 3 (2 girls, 1 boy) children so they can in fact have nieces and nephews….oh and there were other reasons too! You are very lucky to be so close with your family!
Last date I was on was on my birthday we went out for sushi and took a walk on the beach (its been a mild december in NJ). It was wonderful and I can’t wait for the next one!
Love chili with lots and lots of mushrooms! Anything you have 5 sides you can add is good in my book.
Have a great day :)

What did you do last night? I took my dog to the groomers.. they met up with a friend who doesn’t mind her kids screaming all night. ugh pass the flaming hot cheeto’s. Can you silence loud kids with them?

Reply

Last date was dinner at our favorite place with friends. I have 2 girls Hannah, 20 gulp! and Emily 16. They are great kids, but still drive me crazy sometimes. Like chili over spagetti, with beans.

Reply

That is a great idea for dinner….I will be trying that. Two girls…so fun but I bet the teenage years are not as fun ha!

Reply

I go CRAZY with that dollar value menu at Wendy’s…..there are so many delicious things that I always want, I can never narrow it down—
-vanilla frosty
-potato
-french fries
-spicy chicken nuggets
…..the list goes on!

I think my last real date with my boyfriend was on my birthday (November)?? We went to my favorite pizza place and got ice cream!
I love chili!! So good! I always have to put a ton of cheese on it :-)
I think one or two kids… Not sure… Kids are a lot of work and expensive!

I’m with ya on having only one!

Reply

I have 3 littlr ones 3, 4, and 6. I love when I get date nights with them! They want to go see the Chipmunk Chipwrecked movie….think we will do that over Christmas vacation. I love Wendy’s chili with the bake potato and some chesse! yum! your nieces and nephew are such cute kids!

Reply

Oh my gosh, I can’t even remember our last “real” date. That’s sad and pathetic. haha
last night I made soup, watched a horrible witch movie with Nicholas Cage in it and blogged in front of the Christmas tree :)

Reply

Last night I ate about 7 cups of cashews and then became dehydrated from all the salt. I still have a headache and my stomach hates me! Almost as riveting as your recess conversation, I’m sure!

Every day with Dean feels like a date! We don’t go out too much. We spend a lot of time working out and cooking together but I love it! hopefully we will go out on some “real” dates once Christmas break starts :)

Reply

This made me crack up. I have that problem too with nuts, I just keep eating and eating them until I all of a sudden feel sick.

Reply

your niece is too adorable :) i cant wait for kevins nephew to get older so we can steal him for dates too!

i wasnt feeling well last night but we sat in alot of traffic and took a costco trip..in order to pick up a 40 lb bag of dog food for nacho (who loves kirkland brand food, and the size of the bag means that its like a lifetime supply of food for him)..we bought a couple of other things we needed, and so we had the dog food on the bottom shelf of the cart…and then kevin realized when we got home that he had forgotten the bag of dog food in the cart…LOL. so we spent the other half of the night joking about how only HE could forget a 40 lb bag of dog food at costco…ayyy. otherwise we gorged ourselves on rotiserrie chicken and salad and watched dexter. awesome date night ;)

i LOVE chili, need to make a batch soon. its an awesome thing to make and freeze for future meals!

i dont have any kids…me and kevin are hoping to enjoy some time with just the two of us for a while..but in the future i’d love 2 or 3 of them :)

LOVE chili!
last date was a couple weeks ago torr and i went out and watched a band and had drinks. it was fabulous because we have been super lazy around the house lately it seems.

Reply

Last night I went to a Sports Training circuits class, ran, and made dinner for my husban. FLAMIN’ HOTS ARE THE BEST! I would love that as a pre-date gift! our last date was Thursday and we went out for the awesomest parmesan fries and turkey burgers!! I want to have AT LEAST 4 kids. Minimum! Although I’m getting up there so I need to get crackin’!

Reply

Last night I cleaned house, started my holiday baking spree, wrapped presents, cooked dinner, and watched BL finale!!!

My last date was with my husband, we went to PF Changs for dinner, did some Christmas shopping, and met up with friends for a late night of bowling! Yea we’re pretty hardcore these days.

I love chili, but I don’t eat red meat, so I can only eat the kind that I make sans beef.

No kids yet…. getting closer to starting a family and its freaking me out! I would be ok with 1, but my husband probably wants 2 or 3.

Reply

Your neices must love you and Billy to pieces! Such a fun Aunt & Uncle!
I have two girls, 4 1/2 and 6 1/2…and they are too much fun! They are very sweet girls who don’t always listen, and couldn’t be more different from each other!
Last night, we made oodles of cupcakes for my school’s Turkey Dinner (A tradition our school puts on for the students as many of them don’t get a turkey dinner at home.) A big mess was made, my youngest was covered in cake batter, but we had fun! Then, after they went to bed I watched the Biggest Loser Finale! (I won’t say much for those who haven’t watched yet.) So happy to hear that the new seasons starts right after the holdiays!!

Reply

So sweet.

I took my 12-year-old niece on a date over the summer. We went to the movies, then to the bookstore and I bought each of us a copy of her summer reading book. So we got to read it together and talk about it.

I have a 3-year old daughter and I really hope to have one more. We’ll see if it is meant to be.

Reply

haha too cute – your nieces are absolutely adorable and I wish I had someone to request fro-yo more often – Tripp asked for some last night, and when I went to go get a bowl, he said nm – he had eaten too many M&Ms – is that even possible?!

Reply

Three kids and I’m done. Two boys, then adopted my girl, can’t have any more and adopting is SO much paperwork. :) Really though, I think we are good.

Date night was Carrabba’s and New Year’s Eve movie. Last night I watched Biggest Loser (broke the t.v. strike and bought an antenna just for that).

Curly is a doll and love the date w/ your niece…perfect. They love that stuff. Jess

We are always on the same wave length lady!! Look out for tonight’s post about sleepovers with my favorite little one hehe. Sounds like you had a more exciting night than I. I was exhausted, bed way early!

Last night I started making cake pops for my two oldests preschool class parties. Going out on dates doesn’t happen too much around here (wish our parents didn’t live 4 hours away). Instead we have special dates when the kids are asleep. We try to do this once a week. Last week I made Garlic Herb & Shrimp tacos and we turned the fireplace on and cozied up under a blanket to watch Love Actually. And yes, I love chili!

Reply

I baked triple chocolate muffins for my husband’s holiday graze fest today.

Kiddos?: I always thought I would have 2, and 2 by now……….I have lived life unfolding on its own terms in this department, however, my heart of heart still tells me to be patient, all things in their own time.

You have the cutest nieces/nephews! They are lucky to have such a fun aunt and uncle…you and Billy will make great parents one day! : )

What a fun night with the cutest little girl ever. You and her look so much alike and she is just seriously adorable.

I watched the BL finale last night. woo hoo!

Last night I did some POP Pilates at home, then went to the gym to teach SRHED (hip hop dance mixed with strength and core training). The gym was dead when I got there, so we saran wrapped people into chairs (I ended up getting stuck in there too) – yeah – we are awesome.

I had a girls’ date a couple weeks ago with some of my closest friends and it was awesome! Brick oven pizza at a local pizza joint. YUM.

Chili is delicious – one of my favorite “it’s finally fall” foods.

I have 70 students, 15 cheerleaders, 14 nieces and nephew, 2 dogs, and 1 cat. Does that count???? I do not want kids anytime soon, but maybe one day I’ll have one or two.

The Mr and I had a date last night…which is surprising because dates sans kiddos don’t happen as often as they should. We went & got some Indian food (I heart Indian food) and ran some errands (so romantic huh?) Have you ever been to Bombay House? We have 2 kids – an almost 5 year old and a 2 & 1/2 yr old. We will probably add one more into the mix for good measure. And I love chili…plus, my kids actually love chilli too. It is one of the few meals I make that no one complains about…maybe because I serve it with chips..and my kids love chips. Hmmmm.

I LOVE spoiling my niece. I have 3, but only one of them is old enough to come over and spend the night. I’ve had her for the entire weekend twice, and while it was SUPER tiring it was really fun! I don’t live close enough to just take her out for the night, but that would be fun! — The Hubs & I haven’t been on a date since……..forever. Hm, I really can’t remember the last time. We will probably go fishing or something this weekend if the weather is ncie (that’s our idea of a good date). oh, we did ride the motorcycle over to a park to watch the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico last weekend – does that count?

Right now we don’t plan on having any kids. That could change in a few years, but right now we enjoy being selfish.

Reply

Last night I did nothing! I laid on the couch and watched TV. It was glorious!

My last date was about a month ago. My husband and I went to dinner and a movie!

I love chili, especially Wendy’s chili.

My husband and I have one daughter, who is now 13. I am perfectly content having one child (I’m an only child myself) and have absolutely no plans to have any more.

Your niece totally looks like a mini-Janae! She’s so cute!

Aren’t kids that age just awesome? I love listening to them and talking to them about what’s important in their little lives. So cute!

I have 3 boys, I would love an even 4 but don’t think my husband will go for it:). How many kids do you want? Your niece is so cute, she looks like you and your sis! Can’t remember our last date, kind of tough with three little kids. We need to do that ASAP!

Last night was the lights at Temple Square with my brother’s family. It was so fun – they have 3 kids, and we love whenever we get to see our nieces and nephews. Then I wrapped some Christmas gifts and we watch some of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Last date was Monday for Steve’s birthday – we went to dinner and then rock climbing which was a lot of fun.

Last night? I went to my nieces Christmas play…..Her one line was brilliant by the way. I also worked on my second post for like 2 hours! Some how I got everything to publish and lost it ALL. Ugh. It was late and I had to retype everything. :/

Have a great day!

I love kids, but I don’t want any of my own. I am perfectly content being the most awesome auntie east of the Mississippi –couldn’t say most awesome auntie ever since you’d probably fight me for that title! So, I’ll be the MAA of the East and you can be MAA of the West, deal? I’m like you: I want to spoil ’em, get them all hopped up on sugar and then return them. If I were a mom I couldn’t do that;)
Luuuuved the story of blowing on the hot cheetos to cool them off! I totally started laughing in the middle of the library. (Yes, I either read blogs or do wall sits on my study breaks)

Reply

I went for a run with my hubby and one of our three boys last night!! That totally does not make you a bad person. Check this out! I tell our kids that when they scrape their knee or whatever that if they blow on the “owie” it will make it feel better. Why? Because they can’t scream if they are blowing on it! HA! I know, I am terrible but boys are loud! LOL

Reply

What did I do last night? I slept! I don’t have a final today so I went to bed at 9pm and slept until 7! It was glorious

My last date? Well, I would I go on dates every night with my boyfriend! Even if we’re making dinner I still consider it a date and it is just wonderful :)

I like veggie chili! I’m really not a fan of super heavy/meaty chili but if it’s loaded with veggies or beans I am all over it!

I have 2 brothers so I would say 3 is a great number. I could see myself having 4 or maybe 5!

Reply

My hubby and I are lame, our dates consist of running races together (or against each other, because we’re competitive like that).

Last night I rode on the bike trainer (because I was too wussy to freeze outside) while watching psych. I can’t wait to watch the biggest loser on hulu today!

We have two adorable boys, and that’s probably all, but we sure love them a lot!

Reply

I went out for sushi and running. Not together! I also made shortbread and chocolate dipped candy canes!!

I have 2 kids and have 0 idea if I’ll have more. We’ll see.

Elijah blows on jalapeno potato chips hoping they’ll cool off. I think it must be successful because he keeps going back for more.

how sweet! i used to love dates with my aunt! we would always get $1 to spend at the candy store.

i only like homemade chili because growing up my mom always made it with venison so regular tastes weird to me.

I have no idea when my last date was…i need to find a man ;)

You look just like your niece. Wait, your niece looks just like you. My in-laws take the kids to the dollar store to for dates. They think it is the coolest place ever.
What a fun night.

I love your “date night” with your niece. I wish I lived closer so I could do this with my nephew.

We love chili – we made it last weekend in the crock while we decorated our home and tree for Christmas. After chili dinner, we watched Christmas movies! So much fun ;)

Your nieces are the cutest. I love that you and Billy take her out for a date night fully focused on her. I’m sure that is something she will never forget. :)

Last night I had to do work. Booo. My last date was for all you can eat gelato. Mmmm. I’m a big fan of chili, especially if there is football on TV. I’m not ready to commit on number of kids – I expect to have the first one in the next 4.5 weeks or so, but right now I can’t imagine being pregnant again. I’ll have to regroup in a few months!

Super fun that you go on date nights with your nieces. I wish mine lived closer so I could do the same.

Last night we worked on our homemade Christmas presents and wandered around our house thinking “Where will we put all this stuff once the baby comes?” Ha.

Those kids are so unbelievably cute! I hope to have 2 or 3 kids. One of my best friends from high school just had twins today!! A boy and a girl! They are so cute, but I can’t imagine having two babies at once!

I always say that I only want one kid…but whoever I say that to always says “you can’t just have one.” And I always respond: “Well, actually, yes. Yes I can just have one!” I feel like just because I want one child I am judged as a bad person or something. I just want to give that one child everything, geez. What if I wanted NO children? People really freak out if you say that….
