Max Brenner and Late Night Lounging.

Let’s be honest.  When my food came out on a slab of wood, I was a little nervous.   The fact that there were 3.4 waffle fries in my bowl (with no ketchup) didn’t help matters.

Luckily, my panini was really good or else I would have caused a riot.

Added bonus: We had a hot double date with other runners that love their food too.

Aaron called this picture: do Janae’s cheesy face and make your neck look funny like she normally does in all of her pictures.

Here is the thing. I am actually quite ashamed to even type this but we did not get dessert at Max Brenner’s (they are famous for their desserts).  1 cookie = $10.  Yeah, I don’t think so, that is more than my hourly teacher wage.  I will just make up for it by eating two ice cream sundaes today.

As we were walking around Caesar’s palace we were talking about how excited we were to meet a certain someone someone and then boom….there she was.  It was fate.

Billy has been a good sport and listened to our obsessive talk about blogs, running, Kim Kardashian and boots for hours.  I owe him big time. Don’t feel too bad, he did have other husbands around at times to talk about cars and stuff with.

This would be us just relaxin’ at some lounge that I don’t remember but it felt good to be surrounded with people that I have stalked for longer than I will admit.

Do you order dessert at restaurants?

-Not when I can buy 5 gallons of ice cream at the store for the same price.

What was the last restaurant you ate at?  Ever been to Max Brenner?

How would you rate your day on a scale of 1-10 today?

I usually never get dessert at restaurants, just always go for fro-yo after;) Today was a pretty good day for me because I got to look into a culinary school I am hoping to attend next year! So I’d rate it a 9 out of 10:)

I’m usually too full to order dessert plus I’m cheap too! :)
I think the last restaurant we ate at was Panera for soup & bread.
Looks like you’re having so much fun! Super jealous!

Wait WHAT? You didn’t get the loaded chocolate pizza? It’s worth every penny. And the sundaes are the size of a small child. You totally should have.

Reply

You definitely need to eat at Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill!!! It’s amazing:)

Reply

Agree with Miss Jenn above!…Mesa grill is SO amazing. Best pork chops in the world…and I don’t even like pork chops?!

You gals have fun tonight – rest up though!

I never get dessert at restaurants! WAY to much… :)

OMG WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA? GIRL! The rule is, when going to Max Brenners, stop at McDonald’s first and have dinner off the dollar menu and THEN go to Max Brenner’s and spend all you $$ on dessert!

We have one here in NYC- it’s my obsession.

Reply

McDonalds then Brenners..sounds like a deadly combo! Too funny, what do you end up getting!

Reply

I LOVE the fondue, the Toffee something Sundae, the crepes, the granitas, oh man… pretty much everything! :)

I went to Max Brenner’s for dinner when I was in Vegas for a convention. I was also a little bit disappointed in the lack of waffle fries, but the food looked cool on the plate and tasted pretty good too. No dessert for me, either. I’m a poor college student. But another night, when we ate at Planet Hollywood, I had an ice cream sundae … for dinner … instead of food …

I’ve never even heard of that place.

I normally don’t order dessert because we always go out for fro-yo after. :)

what great pics! Yall look like yall are having so much fun!

I don’t usually get dessert at restaurants. I’d rather just go get fro yo or a cupcake. The last restaurant I went to was my favorite Thai restaurant in town!

Reply

Looks like fun! I always order dessert even though I am usually the only one. Last restaurant was sushi. Day so far a 7. Good luck tomorrow!

Reply

Hooray for a great day in VEGAS! Your dinner looks delicious!

Best wishes on your race tomorrow! :)

GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!!!

If I had a choice I would order dessert instead of real food but that never happens! I will often get dessert if it sounds appealing! That does sound pricey though…good thing you have some Canadian goodies that you can stash in your pockets ;)

Reply

I only order dessert at restaurants if they are seriously amazing. Like cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory. Or my absolute favorite dessert OF ALL TIME – the Maple Butter Blondie at Applebee’s. I can’t even think about it. I love it so much.

The last restaurant I ate at was a local Mexican restaurant… I have a fajita addiction. And I would rate my day as a solid 7! Not as productive as I should have been (cough desperatelyneedtodolaundry cough) but I got a great workout in and laid in bed for a while. Can’t beat that :)

Yah Brenners is a place you need to have a strategy to go with. Its a niche/novelty place so you have to be in the mood to go and basically need to order something unique you cant get elsewhere. They have great peanutbutter shakes, dessert pizzas, and “licks” which are basically chocolate shots you can dip cookies or a babka in, but you definitely need a plan when it comes to ordering! No worries Brenners has a cookbook so you can recreate one of their treats at home.

Last place for me was Johnny Rockets..love casual diners. Why does grilled cheese taste soo much better out?

Home desserts are always a win. You can heat it up, freeze it, or addd to it. I love dessert later, not right after a meal makes it 10x better.

Ahhh! And I can’t believe I forgot to say it, but HAVE A GREAT TIME TOMORROW! You’re going to show that race who is boss! I’m only slightly jealous… next year for me!

Reply

I never order dessert at restaurants, I’d much prefer some self-serve fro yo, or something I make at home!

Reply

I will admit that I often get desert instead of an entre. Today was maybe a 4 – I was supposed to run a 5k Jingle Jog with my husband (non-runner) this morning but I was sick all week and had no strength so he ran and I cheered him at the finish line.

Reply

I only order dessert if they have something deliciously chocolate-y and at least 23,000 calories.

Reply

OMG i need to find the nearest Max Brenner ASAP! those pizzas and your panini look incredible, and I’m really sad that I’m reading this while eating a Pb-banana sandwich. And I agree about the dessert….ice cream is cheap and I’m blessed with skills in the baking department!

Reply

I can’t believe you didn’t go for the desert! I like getting desserts in restaurants because then I don’t have a whole bunch of sugar sitting around at home! ;)

Reply

Sounds like a blastttt! I don’t usually order dessert, I’d rather have the cheaper stuff too. I ate a panera the other day!

Reply

I would rate today a 10! I went piano shopping… and I think I found THE ONE! It’s my first piano purchase ever… and I can’t wait! A friend of mine thinks I should talk the salesman down $900 and offer $9000 instead of $9900. That makes me nervous. Have you ever talked anyone down in price on anything? How about when you guys went car shopping?

Reply

BTW- Good luck tomorrow!!!!

Reply

Hmmm, they can’t be too famous I haven’t even heard of them in the 6 years I live here. Must be the $10 cookie price! OUCH!! Glad you had fun

Reply

OH MY GOSH! Those pizzas look AMAZING!

Reply

I am easy to please- I’m ok with going home and raiding my chocolate stash for dessert! Plus the gap gives my appetite sone time to recover ;)! Those waffle fries look so good!

Reply

We usually don’t order desserts at restaurants since they are so pricey. I agree – so much cheaper to eat something sweet at home. Usually only time we order dessert out is if we are going out for a friends birthday and we all split.

The last restaurant I ate at was The Black Walnut Cafe http://www.blackwalnutcafe.com/. Do you have these in Utah? A tad pricey but the food is great! And if you do want dessert out this is the place to go!

Good luck today!

Super jealous over here! How I would have loved to have been at that table :) I never order dessert at restaurants unless it’s fast food, because I am cheap lol

On a scale of 1-10, I would rate yesterday as a 7. Super busy with errands and driving all around, but lots of good family time too :)

Reply

HAHAHA LOVE that picture of them and the pizzas!

I actually NEVER order dessert at restaurants…I’m almost always disappointed! I’m much more of a stop on the way home for ice-cream/froyo kind of girl!

Reply

I do not normally order desserts either, normally I am too full. Of course if I went to a place that is famous for desserts, I probably would have skipped my main meal and just ordered dessert. :)

Reply

I don’t usually order desserts, unless it’s a damned good canolie. That’s the Italian in me I guess. I’m more of a cheese fondue or plate kind of girl for an appetizer. I’d rather do apps than dessert any day!

Good luck today, you’ll rock it!

Reply

So much fun and so many fun girls! I’m so jealous you were able to get together with Skinnyrunner, OUAL and Monica from Run Eat Repeat. Love these girls and you!
Can’t wait to hear all about the race!

Ooohhhh….Max Brenner! I won his cookbook on a blog giveaway – it’s amazing.

I rarely order dessert at restaurants – only on special occasions.

The last restaurant we visited was Cheddar’s yesterday (we had a gift card yay!).

I would rate my day as a 4 yesterday – it was GREAT until about 4:00, then I was brutally attacked by the stomach virus. Bleh. Hopefully I will start feeling better soon!

You look gorgeous!

Well, I do believe that picture is full of the most famous bloggers I know. So fun! I wish I could have met Cely- she cracks me up.

I think I won with the “Janae neck” picture ;) just saying.
