First Post and The Cure.

You guys are brilliant and I want to hire you to be my doctor after the comments in my last post.  I think I did have a migraine and I was glad to know that the rainbow vision is a normal side effect of migraines.  Hormones are probably the culprit…..why else would I have cried during the preview for the new Men In Black movie (ps does Will Smith ever age?) because I I thought I forgot my leftover candy from last night at home (don’t worry, I found it).

Have you ever taken a blanket to the movies?  I highly recommend it.   I also highly recommend making homemade popcorn for the movies.

Photo 1 2

After some caffeine (okay a LOT of caffeine), medicine, loads of water and massaging my temples, I felt a whole lot better.  It still hurts to move my head quickly or tip it down, does that make sense?

For dinner last night we had leftover broccoli cheese soup and I hit the hay early.

To save you from having to scroll through too many pictures (like most of my posts), I combined dinner and dessert photos in one.  Remember:  having a migraine= you don’t have to take pretty pictures.

Something that I love to do is to read bloggers very FIRST post.  I don’t know why I find it so entertaining but I think it is interesting to see why and how they started their blog?  HERE is mine.

BLOGGERS:  What was your very first post about?  Do you ever look back on it?  Have you changed a lot since you started your blog?  I think you should LINK it in the comments so that we can all read your first posts!

Favorite seafood in the whole wide world?

Crab.

Are you all done with Christmas shopping?

-Nope, I am very good at procrastinating.

I started mine with weight loss in mind, but it’s all about eating now! :)

I’m finishing up my shopping today after I get out of work early.

I’m pretty sure I don’t even want to look at my first post…way too embarrassing!

Glad you’re feeling better!

My first post was about my desk that I built. I was really proud of it! http://reneweduponadream.blogspot.com/2011/09/first-post-my-new-desk.html I still love that desk too! It was the first thing I ever built, and it set off a love of building furniture :)

And uh, no I’m not done Christmas shopping, almost though! Just gotta grab a couple of things for my mom!

Reply

My oh my. I have changed 200% since my first post, just over a year ago. At first it was all about me trying to lose weight, but now it’s so much more. And thankfully my writing has gotten better too!

Here is my first ever post. Lame.

That picture is amazing! Crab and scallops are my favourite hands down, and I am done my shopping :D

I started mine to document my marathon journey! And to have an outlet to figure out what the heck I wanted to do with my life. Welp I ran my marathon and turns out I want to be a teacher :) I <3 blogging!

Since my blog is primarily about training to run in Team in Training/Leukemia & Lymphoma Society races, in my first post, I wanted to let everyone in my family know why a complete “non-athlete” like myself would have suddenly decided to become a “runner:”

http://www.andreaintraining.com/2011/05/flyer-that-started-it-all.html

As for how I’ve changed? The me from May can’t run nearly as far as the me from December. ;)

My favorite seafood is salmon.

I have several more people left to buy gifts for which, given that I’m usually done Christmas shopping by Black Friday, is deeply freaking me out! :)

I hope you feel better!!! I love looking at people’s first posts!! They’re always to awkward to me haha. I didn’t know how to start mine! I love crab and shrimp. I’m not done shopping yet! For the most part, I just have one more gift. Here’s my first post! http://www.gothextramileblog.com/2011/08/08/first-post/

I love reading bloggers first posts too. I feel like the more you blog the easier it is and the more comfortable you become. My first post was probably about how awesome I am or cheese. Or maybe both.
Glad you’re feeling better!

I am happy to hear you are feeling better. I am a tad disappointed that your MIL (or whomever cooks) hasn’t made you a new soup. I have a recipe for a cheese and potato soup that I want to try. Can you get them to make it and tell me if it is any good? ;)

I just re-read my first post, which was from October of this year. Sort of random that I just began my blogging life with a race recap: http://sanjuanrunnergirl.blogspot.com/2011/10/balck-canyon-20k.html

Favorite seafood= sushi…I know, that encompasses a lot. It is my favorite way to eat it.

Basically done shopping– I keep thinking of “one more little thing”……

Reply

I’m glad you’re feeling better! Be careful about the caffeine. My neurologist growing up (had awful migraines all through teen years and early 20s) always told me caffeine was a quick fix that took it away for a bit but using it meant the migraine could come back with a vengeance later!!

My first couple of blog posts were just intro’s. So the first “real” post is here. http://wp.me/p1JJuk-f
The ONLY seafood I like is shrimp.
I did most of my Christmas shopping online and shipped it straight to Arizona. So yes, it is all done.

I think my first post was abut my honeymoon! Or that is when I started blogging more, before I used a blog for wedding updates.
I love ALL seafood, but favorite has to be mahi, mahi because I do not have it often and had it while in Costa Rica which might be one of my best meals ever.
Yup, I am a early shopper and have been done for awhile. I also cannot stand crowds!

Glad to hear you’re feeling better!
It’s funny that you’re talking about first blog posts, because I’m coming upon my first anniversary! And yes, I have definitely changed. I’m kinda embarrassed by the first one because I had no idea what I was doing! I’m still learning every day and all you great bloggers out there keep me going!
Crab cakes are my favorite “form” of seafood.
Today I get to start Christmas shopping- can you say “procrastinate”? :-)happy holidays Janae! I love your blog!

I’m DONE with Christmas shopping. I’m a computer teacher and don’t tell my boss, but I’ve bought most of my presents online this year from work.

Love your blog! Thanks for constantly entertaining me and challenging me to be a better runner. Merry Christmas!

So sorry to hear about the migrane…I know from experience that they are horrible…I started getting them in high school and they used to make me throw up (TMI?) then I seemed to outgrow them but they came back after I had both of my children, I don’t get sick anymore but I pretty much just have to go to bed to get rid of it…all light and noise and movements hurt my head…the last time I had one, I finished watching a movie with my family in our living room with my sunglasses on in an already dark room so I could look at the TV screen!

Thanks for suggesting looking back! My first post was about the day I bought my house, which was super fun to look back on: http://sistersspacesstuff.blogspot.com/2011/08/amys-housethe-first-day.html

Oh my gosh, my first post was incredibly random and I kind of cringe to look back on it haha. Oh well, gotta start somewhere right? I love a lot of seafood, but my favorite is generally tuna and salmon :D. I’m finally done with my Christmas shopping, but I do need to wrap everything!

Reply

Not being able to leave my son overnight. It’s still pathetic when I read it today!! http://wp.me/p1BXgz-L

Ooooh, toughie!! I think probably scallops or raw oysters!!!

I still need to find a scarf for my brother’s girlfriend.

Your first post was adorable! Mine is just kind of… there. And awkward. http://tinyurl.com/7jd8e92

But I actually really enjoyed reading it again because you’re right – we all have changed! I made my first blog post in April, when I was just starting Couch to 5K again… and now I’ve run several 5Ks, done my first half marathon, and am training for second!

I must admit that I hate seafood… the only thing that I’ll tolerate is tuna, and it has to be so full of stuff (like tuna salad) that it barely resembles the tuna from whence it came. I’m a huge baby.

Reply

Your first post cracked me up. The night before my MCAT, I was so stressed, so I thought a shower might help. Someone banged on the door and just kept banging. I peaked out the peep hole and it was a really big, angry looking guy I didn’t know. I finally opened the door and I had left my keys in the lock. He was just trying to be nice. I felt like an idiot!

My favorite seafood has to be lobster. Crab’s a close second. And scallops and shrimp. Heck, I love it all.

Only a few gifts left to pick up, just last minute stocking stuffer type stuff!

I always read the very first blog posts too – glad to know I’m not the only one.

I remember loving your first post, mostly for your sense of humour about yourself and general energy, which comes through in your writing. I think I must have been reading for a year now?

I wish I hadn’t deleted my first two blogs: I’d love to look back and see what my ‘proper’ first post actually was. On my current blog it’s this ‘real’ one:

http://www.almostovernow.com/2010/12/blyth-sands-5-miler-4122-off-road-beach.html

I miss looking like that!

When I ate seafood I liked tuna (does that count as seafood? Eh, well in my mind it does).

i agree, it is fun to go read bloggers’ first posts. especially those bloggers that have been blogging for a long time. i’ve only had my blog for about five months, so it hasn’t changed a TON, but the quality of my photos and my writing style has improved i think! i’ve also changed the title of my blog a couple times too. here is my first post: http://www.myfoodnfitnessdiaries.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=639&action=edit

I don’t know if it my favorite, but it is definitely my most frequent……tuna fish out of the can. My school lunches have tuna on salad or sandwich at least once a week (today is one of those days), and after long run Saturdays I crave a ginormous salad with tuna.

Tipping the head down……yes totally been there. Honestly my cures are light exercise or frosting (sugar) ……..two of your favorites if you want to try my remedies

I can’t remember what my first post on my first blog was about. Now I’m on blog #2, and it seems like the posts that get the most response are the ones where I list things and have little freak outs.
