I betcha didn’t know……

That Utah has an amusement park that is pretty rockin’.

The brother and his family were in town so we all met up at Lagoon.  We missed you Dad (he is in Kentucky with another Brother working on their house).

There were a lot of roller coasters.  Short lines=9 roller coasters in an hour (I think I am getting old because my stomach no longer loves going upside down and doing quick turns at 60 miles an hour, but it is so worth it to see their faces during the rides).

Hopefully you like kid pictures because they are second (to ice cream) on the list of the highest amount of pictures that I put on my blog.

IMG 0734That is kind of an evil smile curly haired girl.

IMG 0743

We were not about to pay $12 for a piece of pizza at the amusement park so we brought loads of snacks.

IMG 0740

PS you must try the goldfish s’more variety.  They have chocolate, graham cracker and marshmallow crackers and they are fun to build your own ideal smore with (in my humble opinion, 3 marshmallows are necessary for each s’more).

On the way up to Lagoon Billy said that In-N-Out sounded good to him, I couldn’t get it out of my head and had to get my fix on the way home.  My usual veggie burger and fries, the pickles were especially good yesterday.

IMG 0764

You really didn’t think I would end a long run day without ice cream did ya?

IMG 0765

I challenge you to tell me about a better shake than in-n-out vanilla shakes.  In case you were wondering I did lick my ketchup cup clean (and that was the third one).  I tried my students french fry and shake dipping maneuver and it was heavenly.

Overall, I don’t think that my body is very happy with me…..long run, rollercoasters and walking around an amusement park all day.  I will be sleeping in.

What would be your ideal time to wake up everyday (work, running, kids etc are not an issue in this question)?

-I think 8:30 is perfect for me!

Roller coaster fan?  Do they make you sick?  Are you afriad of of heights?

Do you have any amusement parks or water parks near you?  Do you go very often?

Roller Coasters make me feel icky. I wake up at 4am now to workout before work but I bet my body would love to sleep in at least until 7:30 every day.

Happy Friday!

My fave time to get up is 7-7:15. Lots of time to do stuff in the morning but not so early that it’s dark!

You’re seriously awesome! A long run of that distance and then an amusement park for the rest of the day? You deserve to sleep in till noon!!!

7:45-8:30 is a great window. I work out in the evening and I am a stay at home mom, so if the baby agrees with this (after being fed around 5:30) I am golden.

I grew up in Ohio and Cedar Point is frequently voted the #1 coaster park in America, and they are right, and I love them. Sometimes riding in a cab is like a rollercoaster that I DON’T like. It’s vomitous.

We do have Coney Island and 6 Flags, both pale in comparison. Although, in Coney Island, you can see a dude drill a hole into his nose at the sideshow.

Oh, and there IS a better vanilla shake. It’s the vanilla shake at the Shake Shack in madison sq park. I’ve had both. Shake Shack wins.

We have “Holiday World” in Indiana. It use to be Santa Claus Land because it is located in Santa Claus, IN but it has grown huge and now involves other holidays. It also has a gigantic water park. I think it has the biggest wooden coaster or something crazy like that. Totally fun though.

I AM basically a VANILLA SHAKE GURU. I agree there is definitely a difference in a fast food milkshake vs. a restaurant style..it is a softer more creamier version..with a bit of an aftertaste (THAT IS ACTUALLY ENJOYABLE).

Have you tried the Vanilla Cupcake Goldfish yet? Probably be good dipped in Chocolate Ice Cream..

um you are so luckyyyy an amusement park right by youuu!! so jealouss!
and yum your veggie burger looks deliciousss!! congrats on your long run again pretty girl!!!<3

I love roller coasters!! The nearest park is 2.5 hours away (Cedar Point), but the drive is totally worth it.
And I’ve never been to In-N-Out (Canadian girl here!), but is that Veggie burger just veggies piled on a burger bun? If so, that’s AWESOME! I dislike most commercial veggie burgers, so having one that is literally just vegetables seems so right.
Oh, and I definitely need to try those s’mores goldfish.

How fun! I’ve never been to Lagoon, but my family is visiting this weekend, so we were thinking of taking them there! I was going back and forth about it, but I think you sold me! ;) Did you stay for the “Frightmares” – was it worth it? Random question: can you take food into the park??
I love, love, love rollercoasters! I’m not as much of a fan of the rides that twirl you in circles so fast that you feel sick afterward though.

Reply

GIRL!!! That is so fun that your family is coming to town! We didn’t stay for Frightmares so I am not sure. You can bring whatever food you want into the park! The food there was SO expensive!!! I couldn’t believe how much they were charging. Have so much fun Ashley!

What an awesome day at the theme park! As always, the kiddos are hilarious!

Have you ever been to Cedar Point? It’s quite possibly the best theme park in the WORLD. Actually, I think it is! It’s SUCH a blast!!!! I love going there!!!! If you ever have the chance..MAKE THE TRIP. You won’t regret it :)

Janae, you are just about the cutest person ever, besides my kids of course! I love reading your blog and my hubs makes fun of me for checking it so often. I LOVE rollercoasters, but since I’ve had kids my stomach just doesn’t quite handle it anymore. I tend to be an early riser, up by 6, but I think that’s because I get an hour of peace before my toddlers wake up :) I’d love to wake up at 8!

Reply

I actually am not a fan of rollercoasters! But vanilla shakes….YES :)

Reply

7:15am :) I get groggy if I oversleep past about 7:30am, unless it was a super late night!
I am not a fan of roller coasters! I am a chicken.
There is an indoor amusement park about 90 minutes away and a waterpark about 15 minutes away, but we don’t go to either often. When I was younger the waterpark was a huge hit in the summer.

Reply

I ate an entire bag of those s’more goldfish in like 2 days. I haven’t bought them since…I lack too much self control! :)

Reply

I LOVE roller coasters….and french fries. :D

Reply

I think 8:00 would be good for me — it would give me enough time to have some coffee in me for a workout!
I didn’t ride my first roller coaster till I was 26 at Sea World, and it was best friend that got me to do it. I’m not sure anyone else could have got me to do it, b/c I’m not a big fan of rides!

Reply

I’m so jealous of all the fun you get to have with your family on a weekly basis. Those kiddos loved the rollercoasters! I can’t stand rollercoasters. They make me feel so sick. My sister did pay me $20 to ride the Hulk with her down in Orlando. It was the best $20 I ever made! Haha. :)
I’m going to have to try smore’s goldfish. Smore’s are like my all time favorite dessert…after fro-yo of course. :)

Reply

I love the Goldfish S’Mores!!!! They are so yummy. I say I buy them for my kids but I usually hog them for my self! I love roller coasters but it’s been awhile since I have been on one!

Reply

Looks like such a good time!

I would get up around 6:30 am I like being up early to enjoy coffee and watch the sunrise.

Reply

I had In N Out lst night and it was heavenly. I love roller coasters. We have a big amusement park nearby but I don’t go often – it’s a little sketchy. I love water parks too and am highly entertained by the bathing suits that are sported.

Reply

i would say my ideal time would be 8:30 as well :) I’m such a morning person and my body doesnt even let me sleep late anymore even when im tired..womp womp.

I’m ok with roller coasters, im kind of deathly afraid of heights so they arent the most enjoyable thing in the world, but i’ll get on them with friends and whatever when we’re at amusement parks. im more of a fan of the teacups..hahaha

i’ve never had In n out before…wahhh!! they need to open some over here!

Reply

That burger looks amazing!

I love rollercoasters and so does Mike, but he can only really ride about three before he feels like he’s going to die. I could go all day!

If I could wake up at any time, I think it’d be between 7:30 and 8. That would be glorious.

Reply

Ideal wake up: probably between 8 and 9 depending on my mood. I am more of a morning person than I used to be, but still not a fan of getting up too early.

I have always been a wuss about roller coasters. I have never been on one that went upside down. Freaks me out!!!! There was a small park pretty close to me house that I went to all the time with my family, eventually they put in a water park too, which are my favorite kinda parks!! There is also Kings Island (6 flags) about 2 hours away, we went there maybe once a year or so. Haven’t been to an amusement park in years!! I don’t have any little people in my family, but I see roller coasters in my future.

Reply

Um……… Am I the only one who noticed what that kid is doing in the first picture?????????? Am I seeing that right? lol

Reply

That “evil smile’ on your niece’s face (that’s your niece, right?) is priceless! Love that girl.

My parents work for a theme park and let me tell you… betcha didn’t know you can get bored of them. Easily. After getting a yearly pass which allows you to go every-single-day.

Reply

OoooI agree- 8:30am is ideal- that way I wouldn’t miss Regis & Kelly @ 9am :D
Have you tried the vanilla cupcake goldfish??? They are my favorite…SO SO SO good- the real challenge is trying not to eat the whole bag ;)

Reply

I’d say around 9 ish. Whenever I don’t set an alarm I usually wake up around 8. Sometimes I’ll wake up at 9 or 9:30 and get so excited that I slept in :)
I LOVE roller coasters. So much fun. I am afraid of heights a little bit but I feel like everyone gets scared!
I’m not too far from Disney so I do have a bunch near me! I haven’t been in a while but I love parks!

Reply

I used to love roller coasters! Not anymore…

I’d wake up at like 10am every day if I could. i am NOT a morning person!

Reply

Uh, I betcha didn’t know what that little boy is doing is the first picture. Oh my. :)

Reply

Oh gosh soo not a fan of roller coasters.. If i could wake up at anytime of the day it would probably be between 7:30-8:00 AM. I love mornings!

Reply

I LOVE rollercoasters!! I could ride them one right after the other!! I like the chocolate shake from in n out.

Reply

Girl, you put your body through the wringer yesterday. I sure hope you are still sleeping as I type this.

My body loves 7:30.

Put it this way, if my hubby and I have kids, he has already signed up for Dad’s day at the amusment park.

Reply

I like to get up at 6:00, but usually get up at 5. Sigh. My body cannot sleep past 6:45, EVER.

I love amusement parks… there aren’t any amazing ones by me… but I’ve found as I get older I become more of a chicken. I’m starting to be a baby and avoid rollercoasters and I used to be such a daredevil!

Reply

LOVE In-N-Out. Now I need a grilled cheese animal style! And yeah, their milkshakes are awesome!

9am would be the perfect wake up time for me.

Don’t really like roller coasters but I’m not afraid of heights. It’s more of a motion sickness thing.

Reply

omg, in your third picture down, i love the pic of the kid in the stroller with his legs crossed…..too cute!

do not like roller coasters. i get dizzy way too easily and my equilibrium is just not the same since riding every ride possible at universal studios and disney world back in ’99. …..but heck….i’ll still do them :)

Reply

#LOVE those pictures!!!! Looks like an awesome day!!!!!!!!!! :)

Reply

there are a lot of amusement parks nearby, but i dont get to go that often. many are very expensive!

Reply

I’ve been eyeing those s’mores Goldfish crackers. I didn’t realize that all the pieces would be separate. Interesting.

In-and-Out is the best burger. I love how fresh everything always tastes. And yes, their milkshakes are the best. Must be the real milk and ice cream they use!

Reply

How fun!!! I love roller coasters, and I love those Goldfish S’mores. You can eat a ton for a relatively low number of calories!

Ideal time to wake up would probably be about 7:30. Right now I wake up around 5:15-5:30. Bleck!

And I’ve never had an In-and-Out burger before. But yours looks amazing!

You would think living in the Midwest that they would have a million theme parks to keep us all entertained, but sadly they don’t. We did go to Worlds of Fun this summer and it was worlds of fun, but going anywhere with my family tends to be that way. I love roller coasters a lot! When we go we ride in the front, middle and back.

i knew!

goldfish s’mores?!?!? I have an almost 2 year old how did I not already expose him, not to mention ME to these?!?!?

I love curly haired girls face. CUTE!

We have ‘Canada’s Wonderland” about an hour away from us. It’s too big for mini kids. IMO

Reply

9 am for sure! I teach elementary, but still wake up super early to get to work on time!

I live near Chicago, but in Wisconsin so I live near quite a few amusement parks! And this summer, I went to GreatAmerica and only rode coasters because of my boyfriend, but I prefer spinny rides :)

Reply

I LOOOOOOoooove roller coasters. no amusement parks in alaska so the only time i ever went on any was when I went on vacation BUT now that we are in NC i plan to go all the time, weeee!
and my ideal wakeup time would be 830 as well!!

Hi There! I check your blog and love your positivity and general bounciness. I have a question though, and I don’t mean this in a mean way, but where is your sis’s husband? We see her all the time, but no dad. Hope it’s not something sad :(

Reply

All those kids are TOO adorable! The closest amusement park to me is Magic Mountain but it’s kind of sketchy and run down now. We also have Universal Studios, Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm but everything is so expensive I usually only go to one of those once a year!

Reply

I remember my first time on a rollar coaster….I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it. My face on the picture screen=priceless. :D
I am an early bird by nature so I would give myself 7:30 AM!

Reply

UGH so mad we have no In N Outs here in CT. I have been dying to try it. I’ve even been to Vegas and Cali numerous times and haven’t tried it – sinful. But I actually am an amusement park h8er. I hate how unclean they are, I hate the crowds, I hate the lines, I dislike rides (usually), and I hate how much $$ they are. I should probably stop being such a Debbie Downer hahaha

Reply

Perfect time for me to wake up is maybe…7:30? That’s sunrise here right now, and I don’t really like to sleep in much later than that. I love amusement parks and roller coasters, but it’s been a while since I’ve ridden one!

Reply

I would love to wake up at 8am.
The older I get the worse my motion sickness gets. Bummer. I still ride some stuff though.

Reply

I’d love to get up at @ 9. Just in time for Regis & Kelly. Not a rollercoaster fan. I’m just a huge pansy!

Reply

Looks like you all had a blast! I hate roller coasters..I would have been on the ground taking pictures. :)

Reply

I wake at 5AM, and that works for me.
I’m well OVER rollercoasters, but I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!
Your enthusiasm for running, candy, family and faith are right up my alley.
(Not necessarily in that order, God first. no lightning and thunder please!)
I enjoy reading that you started your Sunday with church.
Even little references like “after church” remind others that they are not alone in placing worship as a high priority in their lives.
THANK YOU! Your words and smile (not to mention that curly-haired angel I so enjoy seeing) make me laugh at the end of a long day teaching.

Reply

we love amusement parks! more reason to come visit you! so much fun. oh plus in and out burger.
:)

I used to love rollar coasters, I could ride them all day! But the last few years they have made me sick, so I’m not a big fan any more. But I do LOVE water parks. My favorite ones are Wet and Wild and Blizzard Beach in Orlando. But we don’t live any where close to one.

Reply

My ideal time would be 9. I could go to bed at 9 or 10 and sleep about 12 hours on a daily basis. Not sure if that’s healthy, but it sounds great.

I loooove roller coasters. When I was 12, I got on my first one because my friend made get on, I got a nosebleed and was super scared after (I was a nerd….) but next time we went to an amusement park I felt compelled to get on all the roller coasters I possibly could and haven’t stopped since.

Yep I have a couple of parks near me, mainly Disneyland which is less than 30 minutes away. Love it!

Reply

OBVIOUSLY you have not had Chick-fil-A milkshakes. Born & raised in Cali – and I love In-n-Out, but Chick-fil-A milkshakes beat theirs 160%. I used to work there and still have free milkshake coupons….maybe I’ll send you some…what’s your address??

Reply

Fortunately my current job enables me to wake up at my ideal hour: 8am! Your day at the amusement park looks so fun! Your posts always make me smile: such happy food :)!..I need those smore goldfisheys in my life! Customisation at its finest :)

Reply

No kids involved? I would wake up between 7 and 8. I hate having to wake up at 4:15am so I can workout before my kids wake up.

Reply

yes there ARE better milkshakes…taffys milkshakes in orchard park NY. they have over 150 flavorsof milkshakes and they make all of them fanstastically. not in the cheap like fast food type machines. anyways my favorite kind is the grasshopper which tastes JUST like a thinmint cookie and since they use ores in it sometimes you get a little chunk of oreo frosting and its SOGOOD.

Reply

Looks like such a fun day! Maybe around 7:30 or 8 is perfect for me. Today I got up at 7 to run and it felt pretty good.

Have you tried Chic-Fil-A shakes? I’ve never been to In and Out,but Chic-Fil-A shakes are made from real ice cream and are the best shakes I’ve ever experienced.

Reply

OMG the shake/frosty -fry dipping thing is like….probably one of my favorite foods EVER. I’ve never been to In-N-Out, being on the east coast, buuut if it’s anything like Five Guys I bet its incredible – although I don’t thinkg Five Guys has a veggie burger option, so maybe In-N-Out wins….

Reply

In N Out = Neopolitan Shake.
