(Remember how I said we were going on vacation this week and how we didn’t……turns out that most of the schools in Utah have a break from school this week and there were no open seats to fly stand-by on ((we use buddy passes from my brother to fly)).

I started yesterday off with a trip to the gym with my sister.  We lifted (she wanted to do legs but I laughed in her face……squats the day after a 21-miler?).  When it came time for cardio, I was sentenced to the elliptical while watching my sister happily run on the treadmill in front of me.

At least I had Joey and Ross to keep me company.

Highlight #2 of my day off was a ginormous cup of froyo.  I met up with HEATHER (a fellow cross-country coach) and her husband at Yogurtland (of course).   I think you know what my oatmeal cookie/pb/chocolate milkshake flavored froyo topped with gummy bears and marshmallows looked like so I won’t make you view yet again another picture of it.

After that…….we had our first big purchase together as a married couple.

Who knew that purchasing a car took ALL DAY?  So many silly papers to sign and banks to go to.  Good thing I was prepared with a few apples in my purse and a tub of peanut butter.  Double good thing that the car dealership had free hot chocolate and snacks.  Triple good thing that they had biking magazines to keep me entertained.

Once we were finally outta there, all I could think about was 12 inches of goodness from Subway (all foot-longs are $5 right now).  I had the steak/egg/cheese foot-long….

Health tip of the day:  Always, I mean always add Reese’s Pieces to your Frosted Flakes for an after dinner snack.  The best decision I have ever made and quite festive for the upcoming holiday.

Congrats on the car!! That is so exciting. I have to take my mom to get a colonoscopy today -___- tmi? lol so not too exciting! I like steak but I never really crave it. I’ll still eat it though :) I usually do cardio first ! It depends on my mood

Ha…steak, egg and cheese Subway? Never heard of and sounds so manly…but I LOVE that you got it! I actually used to get the meatball subs and people always asked me why because I was a girl! I was like…um, because they are awesome. Okay, and adding Reese to your frosted flakes? Sugar rocks :)

I’ve got an urban adventure race this morning! No idea what to expect but it should be exciting.

Also can I tell you that when I read you went to fro-yo with Heather, I got all excited for a moment, like it was me? Duh.

Congratulations on buying a car together! How exciting!!

I always do weights AFTER cardio..I know you’re technically not supposed to or something but I find that after I’m dripping in sweat and exhausted after running or biking, I don’t notice much difference while lifting weights. I mean, isn’t the initial few minutes of sweating the most difficult? ha

LOVE me some steak. lol

I like mixing up everything. Like today.. I hopped on the elliptical, then I did 2 miles on the treadmill, then I did a weights circuit and lower body, then I did a spin routine. If I try and split it up evenly (all cardio first, all weights last, and vice versa), it just doesn’t work for me.

Cutback week here so only 4 on the plan. But will be a gym rat anyway. Boys are going to the football game (Elon University) but I opted no thank you.

LOVE steak. Just can’t help it.

Would u believe me if I said I spent ALL day (till 8pm) at the car dealer too? So not fun BUT having a new ride after driving around my ol’ bessy sure feels good! Too bad I wasn’t smart like you to bring food, I ended up 7 hours foodless except and raiding wholefoods on the way home!

Congratulations on the new wheels! I can’t tell from the pic–what did he get? Most importantly, though, what will be the fate of the scooter? :o haha

I went vegetarian almost four months ago, but even before that, I honestly never really was a fan of steak.

ALWAYS cardio first. If I do weights first, I feel all heavy and feel like it interferes with my cardio workout. I know, it makes no sense anywhere except in my head… lol

I’m a vegetarian, so no steak for me, but even when I did eat meat, I was never a fan of steak for some reason.
I always do cardio first so I’m warm.

My plans for today are to go for the longest trail run since I was injured in July WHOOOOOOHOOOOO! It’s only 6 miles but I am so happy about it!

We are hitting up our first trip to Costco today!!! We have always gone to Sams since Costco is in a town we don’t go to but we are gonna check it out today!

I only ‘allow’ myself a 20-min cardio warmup before weights. Anything more has to wait until after weights, otherwise ill never get around to lifting weights! You’ve got me craving a mamma of a sandwich now!

Cardio first for me b/c I’m paranoid I’m going to get sore or pull something if I do weights first. Also, then I don’t have to warm up for weights since I’ve done the cardio already :)

Totally doing the recess pieces thing tonight. Genius.

Ran 12 miles this morning, and enjoyed every minute. I heart the slow steady long runs. Now I am cooking/baking for the day, so when the endorphin high wears off we can loaf and watch college fb, nap, and eat……….perfection.

Congrats on getting a new car, that’s awesome! My Saturday was a 20 mile run and now lots and lots of eating and relaxing.
I hardly ever eat steak, but when my parents grill out and we have some…it’s heavenly. I just can’t cook it properly myself!
If I do cardio and weights at once, I almost always start with cardio.

Saturday was Hubby/Wife workout, home for big brunch, naps for the kids, family swim in the afternoon, then baked chicken for dinner and Finding Nemo for movie night!

My daughter just wrote a haiku about steak! LOL – I guess that’s a yes, we like steak, on that one!

I do the cardio first, to warm my muscles. :)

I definitely do weights first, otherwise I would talk myself out of it unless I’m working out at home, then I run first. Weird.

Yay new car! We are looking for one right now. Sort of a pain, not gonna lie :p
