TJ’s and Falling Pictures.

My hair isn’t in a ponytail for the first time in 21 days.  Although, I have to tell you it went right back up in a ponytail 2.3 minutes after church.

Please tell me you can see where I was trying to go with this artistic photo…….the donut is meant to be a smiley face.

Today for lunch Billy asked if I wanted nacho’s.  I told him no and ate 1/2 of his so that he had to make himself another plate.  He smothered it in olives so that I would steer clear of stealing them again.

I was debating for at least 20 minutes on having a turkey/bbq/cheese sandwich melt or a baked pototo, so I combined the best of both worlds and it was heavenly.

I thought I would showcase to you my latest purchases from Trader Joes all for under $6.  Billy was proud.

And for your entertainment, some awesome pictures that I captured at the park yesterday…..don’t worry, BIlly was doing a front handspring and landed it even though it looks like he is about to fall on his back.

Why are boys so fearless? I get scared doing a front roll.  Although my BALANCE BEAM ROUTINE was pretty sweet.

What is a food that you recently got at the grocery store that you are excited to eat?

-I am really looking forward to my TJ’s pretzels….I have been craving salt like crazy (probably because I sweat 2 gallons a day at the gym here in California…..are fans really that expensive?)

What is your favorite baked potato topping?

Is today anybody else’s rest day?  What day is your rest day normally?

-Rest days are the best and I take full advantage of them.  Scientific research shows that it benefiicial for recovery and preventing injury to spend your entire rest day on the couch eating white chocolate.

I am super excited to make this Nutella Fudge Brownie recipe I saw online yesterday. So today I bought a big container of it. I don’t usually buy Nutella, but the recipe is made with whole wheat flour as well so I thought maybe I’d give this healthy(er) recipe a whirl!

What is a food that you recently got at the grocery store that you are excited to eat?

Ummm…..all of it?!? Ok, really I do get excited about some of the stuff that I always get, like cottage cheese (because I eat it all in less than 48 hours of purchase!), and just about any bready type product I buy that is Gluten Free especially when I splurge and buy 6 donuts for $6.49!!!!

What is your favorite baked potato topping?

Ummm…all of it?!? LOL, really I like a little bit of butter, cheese and broccoli and sometimes real bacon crumbles (NO Bac N Bits here!).

Is today anybody else’s rest day? What day is your rest day normally?

Today is my long run day. Really it depends lately because of the heat I try to rest when it is the hottest day of the week but sometimes it doesn’t work out. My rest day this week was yesterday.

I am excited about too many foods ATM… I work in a European-style cheese shop, and we special ordered some Burrata – of course, I had to buy some. We had half of it last night (some over pasta and some on crostini with white truffle oil and white truffle salt. That was my own creation, and it was so good we’re having it again tonight), and I CAN’T WAIT to eat the rest of it tonight. My hubby did some grocery shopping today and he bought some S’Mores cookies at the bakery. It’s taken everything in me to save these for after dinner. He also bought me some Annie’s Naturals Cheddar Bunnies Snack Packs. Now, I’ve had Annie’s CBs a billion times, but somehow the little snacky bags excite me to no end.

So glad to hear you’re taking the rest day idea so seriously!!!

Not a rest day for me. Sunday was always my long run day, and these days it’s my long ride day. :) I am HORRIBLE about taking a rest day, but this pelvis/hip fiasco has taught me many lessons, and one of the biggest is the importance of rest days. My two physical therapists and my hip doctor were all horrified to learn I didn’t take any….and pretty much put the scare into me that I need to do it if I want to be healthy. One per week is mandatory now (and two is even better – but that is hard for me…. So I do something really low-key like stretching or some strength work for the second one). I usually take my rest day on a workday because that means I also get to sleep a little later on an already hectic day. :)

P.S. I like ketchup on my baked potatoes, which most people think is gross.

I recently got some sunflower seed butter from the store, Oh my Lord, I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited as I was that day!

Today I did my long run (10 miles :D ), but yesterday was my rest day! I laid on the couch all day yesterday, reading blogs, watching tv….and thats about it. Rest days are awesome :)

Hahaha, I do the EXACT same thing with my boyfriend – he’ll ask if I want to split something and I’ll say no, and then proceed to eat half of whatever he got. Thankfully he loves me & knows me well enough by now that he’s expecting me to attack his food :)

Today is my rest day too!!! I love taking Sundays as my rest day so that I can fully enjoy my time at church, with Daniel, and have family dinners. I also meal plan and workout plan on Sundays (well, I’m trying to at least).

I love Greek yogurt on my baked potato (instead of sour cream) and Brummel & Brown yogurt spread (instead of butter) and CHEESE. And bacon. And ranch. And sriracha. And sometimes bbq. Okay, I like anything and everything on my potatoes!

Ooh yum…I know “real” chocolate lovers scoff at white chocolate, but I LOVE it! I think I like white best, actually.

I picked up mini jars of pb&j today at the store to last me for my last 3 days in London. I won’t lie, even though I eat something with pb&j most days of the week, I’m still excited. It’s like I’m 4, rather than 23. Oy.

The way you photograph food does something to my brain. I went out this morning to get one of those crawler type doughnuts from the blog yesterday. It was everything I wanted it to be and more………so thank you!!

Rest day here too, and in all honesty I have felt a little restless and I like I should just do something. I want to be smarter than my temptations, so I have spent the day cooking. My husband think he died and went to heaven.

I cannot wait to have corn on the cob that I bought from a home grown stand.

I always buy a bag of TJ’s pumpernickle pretzels the week before half and full ironmans. Now, if I buy them at a random time, I start to get the itch to race :-)

I LOOOOOOOVE Trader Joe’s. We don’t have them in Canada and the need to stock up usually spurs a trip to the U.S. for me.

I fill the car up and the checkout cutie always laughs.

I got a TON of cereal and granola! I made one of those cereal suicides to go with my dinner mmmmmm. Sundays are my rest days too! Today’s rest day involved walking around the mall for four hours though, but usually I’m on my butt reading. LOVE your baked potato idea!!! I like baked sweet potatoes with cinnamon, sugar, chopped apple, and white chocolate chips – dessert potato!

Sundays are always my rest days as well. It is nice to be so busy during the week, and allow myself one day to just veg out in front of the tv and do whatever I please with no set schedule in mind.

I want them to be Sundays, but those seem to have been the days where I’m out of town or doing something all day long.

O MAN that dressing is DA BOMB! I think that salad dressing calories don’t count cause its liquid, like smoothies and milkshakes, and even frozen yogurt cause once it melts its liquid.. I’m sure this makes sense to you as much as it does to me. Favorite baked potato topping would be cheeeeeese and ham and plain greek yogurt, and ketchup, I didn’t have to choose one did I? haha!

I wasn’t planning on having today be a rest day, but that’s what ended up happening. And then I proceeded to eat three homemade peanut butter cookies, a huge bowl of pasta, and two garlic cheddar biscuits … as if I’m carbo-loading for a race in my imagination. :P

Today was a rest day for me, too! I worked 12-7, so it didn’t really seem restful. ;) But no workout. I love all sorts of toppings on baked potatoes. Salsa + avocado is a favorite.

My son and I were flying solo this week so sadly I haven’t been to the grocery store in over a week. I’m actually excited to go shopping tomorrow.
My day of rest was fabulous. Church followed by a 2 hour nap followed by my hubby cooking dinner for breakfast and freinds coming over for birthday cupcakes.
I’m pretty boring when it comes to baked potatoes – sour cream and cheese.

I don’t know how I missed your balance beam routine. That was plain awesome! Off days? Monday and Friday. Monday because I’m doing long runs on Sat and Sun. Fridays because I wanted an off day after my moderate day during the week before the weekend. Food craving? Clif Mojo bars…

Those TJ’s pretzels are the best. We go through a bag a week at least.

I just got country style pork spare ribs today at Whole Foods (err Whole paycheck), which I just made into a pork cassoulet that’s to die for. I’d say I can’t wait to eat them, but I just finished them….

Fav baked potato topping is actually just a good dollop of butter and salt. I’m a bit of a potato purist apparently.

Today is my rest day, but I take at least 2-3 a week. I found that I run more efficiently if I don’t overstress myself. I’m faster and less tired if I take off that many days and do something else or nothing at all. I also ran 18 yesterday (second 18 in consecutive weeks!), so I feel like I deserve sleepy time.

GREAT JOB ON YOUR 18 MILER!! You are amazing and I think I might have to follow your 2-3 rest days a week…that is so smart and in the long run you will run way more because you want get injured as much…I LOVE IT!

Just looking at your BIL is making me cringe! How boys don’t break their necks more often amazes me!
My fridge is almsot bare right now b/c I’ve been avoiding the grocery store like the plague so I have no recent exciting purchases but I bet I will tomorrow after I go. I tend to go a little crazy at the store when I’m down to nothing at home!

My recent purchase that I couldn’t wait to try was Trader Joe’s Gone Bananas. I got it home and barely finished my lunch before breaking it open. They’re so good!

today is a recovery day but I did Mat Pilates and foam roller on my quads because they are burning after my 11.5 miles run yesterday!! I will have several rest days this week because I am going on vacation.

I love those pretzels too! I eat them with hummus.
