Saturday Workouts ROCK!

Saturday workouts are the best….don’t you agree?

No having to debate whether a shower is really worth it or not because you are already late to work….just me?  Dang it.

This morning I met up with my sister and did weights.  I skipped out on pump and told my sister that she was in charge of making my arms BURN (skipped legs because they are sore from all the bike riding)  We did THIS WORKOUT and my arms are very jello-ish now.

Did 20 minutes on the stair climber and then came home (ate a bowl of Smacks) to get on the treadmill for four miles of incline walking while watching House Hunters.

I was sweating up a storm and then tigertailed it up.  I think the last 4 workout outfits I have worn have been black and purple.  Somebody help me.

Incline walks are the best. I did one myself this morning followed by a nice long swim session!
I also lovelovelove the stair climber all you ever need is 20 mins and you’re done for!

Today I ran 2 whole miles and then 45 minutes on the elliptical- all the while feeling sad that I was missing the Hobble Creek Half! Sad, stupid injury…

Reply

I’m sorry about your injury. :( I’m battling one, too (pelvic stress fracture), and I’ve worked back up to two miles, too! I also know that feeling of missing the races. I missed a marathon in May, a 10k that I do every year in June, and who knows what else. The last few weeks I’ve started signing up for 5ks and run-walking them. It’s helped my morale tremendously, even if it is hard to watch others run while I walk! Take care… A lot of us know how you feel!

I MISSED HOBBLE CREEK TODAY TOO!!! We need to start a club….stupid injuries! Praying for you Jerilee and Kim!

Reply

Can I join said club? I currently (*knock on wood*) have no injuries, but it seems to be a constant battle for me. I’m *terrified* of signing up for my first marathon because I’m afraid I’ll get injured during training or during the marathon itself, and I’ll have another half a month after the full.

Reply

YES OF COURSE!!! JOIN AWAY!! You CAN get through your first marathon with no injuries, I know it:)

Reply

Injuries stink. I do have to say it helps to know that other people are going through it, too, although I wish none of us were! We’ll get through it together. Strength in numbers. :)

PURE BARRE SANDWICH!!

4 mile run | pure barre class | 4 mile run

Sweaty! Recovering with a phenomenal banana-espresso-cinnamon-other stuff smoothie and cheerios!

ahhh well done lady! those inclines on the TM are brutal. Smacks must have pushed you through it. hehe.

Took a 17 mile bike ride with the hubby today. At mile 8, we stopped for a late breakfast which for me included a peanut butter chocolate chip pancake the size of my head! I also had scrambled eggs, hash browns, and sourdough toast. The waitress was shocked that I ate it all. My husband was not. :-D

PS You’re stunning in purple and black, so why not?;-)

Reply

Thanks KIM!! AHHH how fun to stop for pancakes (especially pb and chic chip)….I am going to force Billy to do that with me tomorrow!! Ha, I laughed so hard that the waitress was shocked but your husband wasn’t because that also happens to us every time we eat out!! Thanks for your sweet words!

Reply

I know…. My husband is almost exactly twice as big as I am, and he is constantly telling people how I eat roughly twice as much as he does. They just roll their eyes! The pancakes were totally worth the stop. :) I hope you had fun at the pool!

Reply

Sadly I didn’t work out today :/ BUT tomorrow I’m running to the beach!!!!! :)

Reply

HAVE SO MUCH FUN RUNNING ON THE BEACH, that is AWESOME!

Resting up today for tomorrow’s 18km run!

Hahahahahahahah “Not having to debate whether a shower is really worth it or not because you are already late to work….just me? Dang it.”

You are not alone, sister.

AHHH Thank you Katy…..I feel so much better now!

Today was a 17 miler in Central Park and now I’m debating on pinkberry now or later or now and later… Haha
Purple and black are a great combo! Try to keep it up for a whole 7 days!
Can you and your sister come and make me workout my arms???

NOW AND LATER!! Great run gorgeous girl!! Ha, I will be there in November:)

1 hour of power yoga podcast in my living room, followed by 25 minutes of elliptical hill intervals, followed by a hummus/avocado sandwich the size of my head. YEAHHHH.

I just did Jillian Michael’s Yoga Meltdown & Couch to 5K, Week 4. I never thought I could really run because I suck and then had some back issues but I was doing walking/jogging intervals here and there. Then, the other week, I tried Peanut Butter Fingers walk/jogging workout and was able to do it. Last week, I thought I would try to tackle the Couch to 5K amd was able to start on Week 4. So excited!!! I would just like to be able to run for longer periods at a time. ;)

AHHHH I am so so happy you were able to do pb fingers workout….AHHH I am STOKE about you being on week 4 of the program, you are AMAZING!

today was 7 miles + a total body workout video

i think you are just secretly reusing the same clothes and that’s why they are all purple and black ;)

Reply

How did you know…..did Billy tell you I keep re-wearing all of my clothes? GREAT WORKOUT!

Reply

Mis calfos?! OMG, girl, you are hilarious :D Thanks for the laugh!!
& we were workout clothes twins today- I wore black & purple too. :)
Workout today was a CRAZY leg workout- over an hour of torturing my legs- they love me now- haha ;) & I also did some running on the treadmill.

I did a 13 miler with no fuel, no watch, no music – sometimes I like to just get out and RUN. It was brutally hot, though. We have a heat index of 118 today and there was a heat advisory as early as 8 am.

Reply

Powerwalking, but I’m sure it looked more like waddling around this morning. Having only 8 weeks until my due date makes it a bit harder to move around.

It’s 109 degrees here and therefore, my outdoor activity was limited to walking this morning.

Reply

I totally agree about the Saturday workouts! My workouts have been TOTALLY CRAMPED by the fact that we’re moving tomorrow (to Denver – yay)! My husband dragged me out of bed early so my workout was cleaning the house from top to bottom!! Hooray!! Lol.

Reply

I walked around the city for my new job!! It was awesome!!! Spent about four hours doing it!!

Reply

i ran 7 miles alone and then ran an additional 8 miles with a friend. definitely pooling it up this weekend too! :)

Reply

DANG GIRL!! WAY TO GO!! You are on fire!

Reply

Usually love my Saturday workouts. My supposed to be long run got rained out so I headed to hot yoga instead. Can barely move after a PT session yesterday and yoga today!

Reply

My workout for today was laughing with friends. Good for the belly muscles, good for the soul :)
I’ll be kayaking tomorrow, which should be a nice upper body workout as well as being fun. Unlike my usual upper body workouts :/ Which would probably be more fun if I was any good at them, haha.

Reply

I totally rocked the black and purple yesterday for my 7 mile run! :D That’s the longest I’ve ran all year! Woohoo! Have a great weekend Janae :)

Reply

Awesome workout girl! I did Jillian Michael’s No More Trouble Zones 40 min circuit workout and it kicked my butt! I love getting a good workout in!

Reply

Saturday workouts are the BEST because I get to do them with my Dear! Working out with a partner is always more fun :D

Reply

We spent a couple hours walking around on Saturday, it was so nice just to take a leisurely stroll! Plus it was at 7,700 feet of altitude, so I’m sure it was considered cardio ;)

Reply

Yesterday I had an “all mixed up” workout! I walked my dog for 25 minutes, then did 25 minutes of yoga, and 10 minutes of upper body.

Later in the day I walked through some trails with a gf for a couple hours. It was a gorgeous day!

Reply

Saturday I was in Colorado visiting my childhood best friend! I got to watch her coach 9/10year old girls in a soccer tournament and then we hiked Red Rock and saw dinosaur footprints!! I also jogged around the soccer fields at half time — whee!!!

I love Saturday workouts best also. I hate rushing!

Hi janae – I read your blog all the time, but am quiet in the comments until now! i ran my very first 10k on saturday, and blew away my goal! i was hoping for under an hour (and didn’t think i’d do that) and finished in 55:13! I never run that fast. I thought you’d be proud :)

Now I’m like, well duh! Truly tanhukfl for your help.
