The Fourth Part 2

……….After going to an afternoon movie, The Green Latern (um, don’t hate me but I was bored stiff during this movie, which is crazy because I am EASILY ENTERTAINED) we went home and got Charlie to celebrate our Nation in the best way possible…….with Yogurtland.

This is how Charlie likes to ride in the car…..watch that paw mister….I am a married woman.

IMG 7291

In the car we were all stating what flavor we were going to get that day and when we turned the corner the parking lot was empty which is absolutely unheard of at a place that serves the best fro-yo around.

It was closed.  Even Charlie was mad.  I haven’t seen my MIL cry since tears of happiness (I think) on me and Bill’s wedding day.

So, we went to the next best place and it was pretty delicious.  How dare Yogurtland be closed for the holiday.

IMG 7293

After the sugar-induced coma that occured (which occur’s every holiday of my life) I got to work on these babies to share with our fellow firework watcheroos….if you are good blog best friends I will share the recipe with you later for my favorite snickerdoodle blondies.

IMG 7301

My FIL made an AMAZING CURRY that is a family recipe (I added the recipe to my RECIPE’S TAB) Mine looks like soup because I love adding the broth part but there is rice down there somewhere.

IMG 7303

I am not going to show you pictures of fireworks because I think you know what they look like but I will show you a picture of where we hiked up to (cell phone tower) to watch the fireworks.  We saw 6 different shows from where we were sitting and it was awesome.   I make Billy sit on my lap, it is normal I promise.

IMG 7325

Their was an awesome Fourth of July robot dance perfromed by me with those glow sticks……I might have to reinact it for you.

Don’t forget to enter my GIVEAWAY, it ends tomorrow!!

————————————————————————–

Do you like Curry?!?!  Is there a restaurant or recipe that has your favorite curry?  Spicy or mild?

What was the BEST thing you ate yesterday?

-Homemade CURRY!!!

Random question….. After you wear your clothes where do you put them?

A- Away where they go, hung up or folded.

B- Dirty laundry basket.

C- The floor/bed/chair or any other piece of furniture

D- The closet floor

E- Not Applicable because you wear the same clothes the next day.

Currently C……as part of my trying to be more like an adult I am going to work on putting them away this week.  E also occurs quite frequently but I can’t figure out if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

My answer to the above question is both E – cuz sometimes I wear the same clothes the next day, and also C: I have a stool in my Bedroom where I put my already worn clothes, since I don’t think they are ready for the laundry yet – AND I might just wanna wear ’em again!

Reply

Typically I put my clothes away in the closet or dresser…unless I’m drunk or something haha!

Glad you had a nice holiday weekend! :)

That picture of Charlie in the car is soo cute!!

I’ve had curry and enjoyed it, but I haven’t had it enough to say what my favorite is or where it might be from.

The best thing I ate yesterday was my husband’s cupcake from Sprinkles cupcakes in Chicago (I have pics on my blog… his was better than mine and I had major cupcake-envy!).

And I want to see the recipe for the blondies… they look really good and really moist!!!

Reply

I was so upset when I went to my favorite custard and Italian ice place last night and it was closed :( I had to settle with McD’s soft serve!!!

Favorite curry is coconut curry :) SO DELICIOUS! But I hate eating food that’s so spicy that I can’t enjoy it.

Sometimes I put my laundry in the laundry basket, but if I’m going to wear it again, I throw it on this chair next to my bed. Yea, that chair needs a cleaning soon!

I LOVE curry! The best thing I ate yesterday was a tilapia sandwich when we went out to eat with my parents. We ended up trying like three restaurants before we found one that was actually open. So you were not alone!

Reply

Mango BBQ Chicken Pizza!

With my clothes, I am anal there… in the laundry basket, my hubby though – on the floor beside the bed!

I love curry! And I think my favorite is the recipes we have made at home, the best that comes to mind is coconut curry! Or peanut curry soup! Just not a fan of the glowing yellow curry.

I am a clothes-piler. Pile #1 is on the floor, made of clothes that are too dirty to wear. Pile #2 is on a surface, usually the half of my bed I don’t sleep on, made of clothes I plan to wear again. I rocked the same t-shirt for three days this week. I lounge and workout in different sets of clothing, so it’s OK…?

Reply

I want the recipe!!!!!!

Reply

When do ticket sale begin for the reinactment of the 4th of July robot dance? I’m there!!!

Where my clothes go depend on the the item and its position in the days of stank! Ya know if I have wore it 5 times it just walks itself into the laundry room but if not it may be hung up, folded or even thrown on the floor for later use ;-)

I had the best greaseless deep fried turkey with jalapeno butter injector!!! It was da bomb!

Reply

I always hang my work out clothes up on a hook usually after I wear them to air dry so I can wear them again! :) ha, i’m gross!!

That picture of fro yo makes me want some…right now! :)

Reply

Love that you have a water bottle in your purse!!! Looks like a fun weekend!! I usually put my clothes in the laundry basket, dresser or closet but I’d say that sometimes they end up on the floor. Depends on my mood!!!

Reply

mmmmmm I love curry! There isn’t a restaurant that serves my fave curry but I love to make stir fry with curry sauce.

My clothes generally go on the floor, along with my clean laundry which I keep meaning to put away. It’s been 3 weeks. At least I know where my clean clothes are: on the floor…2 inches away from the dirty ones ;-)

Reply

I probably would have cried if my fav fro yo place was closed too. As for the clothes, I put them in all of those places, but mostly on the floor until they make it to the basket.

Reply

I know it’s gross but I many times i just drape my workout clothes over the closet door and where them the next day!! my husband hates it!!!!!!

Reply

Usually C but I am trying to get more on board with A. The more time off I have this summer, the lazier I become. I’m a teacher, I don’t start summer school until Friday, my house should be the cleanest it’s ever been….hmmm….quite the opposite going on here. I had a similar situation last week where I arrived after craving my favorite yogurt place and it was CLOSED! Unacceptable – that was last Saturday and my craving has still not been satisfied, at that place or any other froyo place! Yesterday was some seriously delicious food but I think my cookies and cream brownies were the best.

Reply

I love blondies! Yours look fab!
Best thing I ate yesterday was homemade strawberry ice cream.
As I am writing this, I’m looking at my pile of clothes (from yesterday and maybe two days ago?) on the floor by my dresser. :D

Reply

I had amazing veggie kabobs – the marinade made them so yummy! Also had another BBQ creation- veggie sausage with cream cheese and red onion, loooovvvee that :)

Reply

We’ve only been living in this house a month, so I am currently still in the “put your clothes where the belong” (after a day or so of sitting on the dryer after being folded…) stage. We’ll see how long that lasts!

Also, I need you to share the snickerdoodle blondie recipe with us so I can have those in my life immediately. Yum.

Reply

Oooo I really want to try curry…I’ve never had it before!

I’d have to say the best thing I ate yesterday was a blueberry/green smoothie. Yum.

This is bad…but after I wear my clothes, they usually stay in my room for a while, and then I finally put them down to the wash…geeze I’m so lazy.

Reply

Those blondies look awesome! I can’t wait for the recipe!

I do like curry!!! HOT!

The best thing I ate yesterday…probably the smoothie I made for lunch and then the grilled porkchops we had last night.

I do A, B , and C (although never in the floor)! Sometimes E, too! :)

Reply

Love curry and I LOVE it HOT!

The hotter the better– when I go to the thai restaurant in town, I get their hottest version “make me cry hot”, and they always warn me that it can’t be returned if it’s too hot, haha.

Reply

I drove home from my parents yesterday. In the span of a five hour drive, I stopped for massive amounts of fro yo. Twice. I thought of you!

Reply

I can’t believe Yogurtland was closed! How dare they. I am so glad you still got your sugar fix for the day.

I haven’t ever tried curry but it looks delicious in the picture. The best thing I ate yesterday was my grandmas potatoe salad, and about 19 cookies, 1 bowl of icecream, and 2 brownies. oops!

Reply

Best thing I ate yesterday: Spinach, turkey and feta burgers!! Yum!!

My clothes go on the floor too.. I’m not ready to grow up yet.

Reply

Oo I’m jealous! Your best thing sounds delicious. :)

Reply

I had the BEST strawberries yesterday. So good. Also? It depends on level of worn-ness. Sweat? Hamper. Clean? Closet.

Reply

I KNEW IT!!! I am not going to see Green Lantern, problem solved.

Reply

I want a video of that glowstick robot. I have a feeling our dance moves would go great together.

Reply

hm… B. or C. !! i am weird with re-wearing clothes… i always feel like i haaave to wash everything even if i wore it for 2.5 seconds to the point where it’s probably wasteful! but then i absolutely hate folding/putting away clothes so the washed ones usually end up piled on a chair/the bed.

that yogurt looks SOOO good!!! :)

Reply

Those brownies sound incredible! Yum!
I adore curry! Especially in Indian food.
I’m totally a C person, however I do usually pick them all up eventually, just usually not when I am changing clothes.

Reply

I LOVE curry! It is the perfect blend of pretty much everything. I put my clothes away, if they’re dirty they go in the hamper. My husband leaves his on the floor at the end of the bed and will wear them for like 3 days in a row until I finally put them in the hamper before he goes for a fourth wear. Its pretty out of control.

Reply

Mmm those blondies look amazing!

For me it’s pretty much all of the above – it depends what clothes they are, if I’m going to wear them again, when I’m going to wear them…

Reply

oh FUN! I wish I had had Fro Yo….. ;)

Reply

janae, we seriously are food sistas! I love homemade curry, spicy foods, sushi, cottage cheese salads, etc.
And now I am in love with charlie. I think him and sadie would be best buds!

Reply

At least you got a suitable fro-yo replacement! I love curry, but I hate spicy food so I make it really mild and most people have to add extra spices to it later.
I put my clothes on the floor every night. Then the next morning I feel guilty and put them away or in the hamper.

Reply

Awww…I love this post so much – your posts always make me smile and giggle :-) That photo of Charlie in the car and your subsequent comment was just class, lol! :-D Ditto for the mother in law’s tears. Hehehe! Clothes wise? E (it’s okay if they smell nice still, lol!) and B. I saw the preview for the Green Lantern and it did look cringe-worthy…even Ryan Reynolds was not enough to convince me to watch that film :-P I’m glad you affirmed my choice for me, lol! Take care, honey, happy working out, eating and family time!!!! <3 yx

Reply

Golden Spoon is my favorite place in the ENTIRE WORLD. I am so jealous you got to go there yesterday!!! When I first moved to Southern Cali I ate Golden Spoon for dinner 3times a week just because it made me happy! Do you think you send some to Asia for me??
Glad you had a good fourth :) The best thing I ate was chocolate chips and sour patch kids – ironically while watching The Green Lantern.
I put my clothes in the laundry but now my boyfriend told me my workout clothes smell so I have to hang them to dry first lol!

Reply

I put shirts in the dirty clothes most of the time – but sometimes i only wear it for a quick trip out – so then it goes on the floor until I want to wear it again . Shorts and pants often go on the floor because I believe they should be worn again until they either get a stain, start to smell or I do laundry.

My other problem is I do laundry and then dig through the baskets for a week before I decide to fold the stuff and put it away.

I have been this way since High School… I see no hope for the future. Shoot.

Reply

fresh n clean get folded and put away, worn but still clean :) get tossed on the “holding chair” for later, sweaty workout stuff gets washed straight away, and no clothes on the floor for me! Oh curry, yummm… Thai coconut curry is calling me… yours looks super too!

Reply

I LOVE CURRY. All kinds but Thai Massaman (sp?) curry is my favorite!!

Reply

Um, my clothes do either A, B, or C- it just depends :). How dare Yogurtland not be open on the holiday! That’s ridic…oh and I emailed you back! Of course I forgive you :)

Reply

Love the random question! My clothes do either B or C – stuff I have worn for the whole day or multiple times goes in the dirty laundry, but if it was worn for less than five hours (roughly), it finds a home hanging on the towel rack in the bathroom or the foot rest to a chair in the closet.

Reply

Bummer about Yogurtland, but that replacement yogurt looks pretty damn tasty too!!

I’m not a curry fan, just because I do not like the spices that go into curry. I’m just not an Indian food kind of person…bleh.

Reply

It’s such a heart break when you are so set on something and you don’t get it, it’s a bummmmmer!

I laughed soo hard at Charlie copping a feel! Goliath does that too! Dogs love chesticles, amiright?

1. I LURVCURRY! So much so it’s one word. All kinds.
2. Best thing WILL be my lunch, stuff greek pita.
3. All of the above, depending on my mood and level of exhaustion. And yeah, sometimes I will flip dirtay scrubs and wear them inside out so the last option is also applicable.

Reply

We almost went by Yogurtland last night, but were too tired. Good thing we didn’t since we would have just been disappointed like you guys were! Don’t they know they need to be serving yogurt to the masses on July 4th!!

Reply

I’d have to say C, D, or E. I’m a huge fan or repeating outfits and need to work on my adultness also and start putting my clothes away. Dogs are so funny!

Reply

love curryyyyyyyy so so so so good!
and i went to whole foods to pick myself up some dinner for my car ride back to school…and THEY WERE CLOSED TOO..so i feel ya disappointment there!!

and my clothes go into a pile in my bathroom floor where i either eventually put them in the hamper orrr wear them again…

Reply

There is a thai place near by that has a great curry dish. I need to drag my bf there for lunch soon, he has never been..

Best thing I ate yesterday was bits of fruit while I was making fruit salad. I swear I eat more than ends up in the bowl..

I’m usually pretty OCD about putting my stuff away (either hang/fold, or in laundry baskets), but that just because my dog really likes to chew up my socks/underwear/sports bras/gym clothes if I leave them on the ground. He was really bad about it when he was a puppy (my laundry baskets now reside on top of my dresser), and the habit is so ingrained in me now that I am still good about it even though he’s almost 3 and probably wouldn’t be so bad now..

Reply

C- The floor/bed/chair or any other piece of furniture. And my husband loves me for it. ;)

I LOOOOOOOOOOVE CURRY! The spicier the better. I like to make my own curry! I think it can be hard to find good curry.

Reply

Happy 4th! looks like a fun foodie day!

Workout clothes MUST go to the laundry especially in this humid summer heat. I’m usually pretty good at putting clothes away…I dont like clutter! :)

HOpe your shins are healing–such a frustrating injury as rest is the method of healing. :/

I love Charlie!!!

Reply

I love that pic of the dog!
Hah I am a clothes disaster. I spend 45 minutes every weekend picking up everything I threw on the floor in random places during the week. If you get better at this, teach me how too!!!

Reply

I was mad that CBW (a wraps/bowls/salads place) was closed yesterday! BOOO! We also ended up at Golden Spoon. I love that place! The yogurt is really good!

My fave food yesterday was an avocado turkey burger! Post 15k race my hubs got his grill on and I swear it tasted better than any turkey burger I have ever had. Maybe the heat exhaustion helped a little?! LOL!

I hate putting laundry away so I do it ASAP. The longer I wait the worse it is!

Janae,

Love your website!!! Love your posts!! Are you always in such a good mood? It’s awesome!

Reply

have you ever had Japanese curry?! it’s got a lot of the same spices as indian curry but it has some sweeter things like apples in it, along with potatoes, broccoli, carrots, eggplant and the list could go on… :)

And I’m not surprised Yogurtland was closed…because in my opinion, Golden Spoon has always been my favorite. :) Was here since I was a little kid in SoCal and then Yogurtland came and stole it’s thunder!

Reply

I just have to say you make the most hilarious pictures. I always have to laugh out loud. But the answer to the question; Definitely C! I usually throw my clothes on my chair and tidy it up later. That Fro-yo looks yum!

Reply

My Yogurtland was open! I had to call on my way home from my friend’s house to make sure they weren’t closing early and they had regular hours. :)

Reply

I love your blog!

Reply

I ate deviled egg potato salad yesterday and it was AMAZING because I love deviled eggs AND I love potato salad. Like Hannah Montana, it was the best of both worlds. And yes, I am embarrassed that I just wrote that. You’re welcome.

I’m definitely a clothes-go-wherever-they-land kind of person. Working on that!

Also, PLEASE share that blondie recipe! I drooled all over myself just looking at them!

Reply

The Yogurtland near my house was open! I would have been outraged if it was closed :)

Want blondie recipe! WANT!

Do you like Curry?!?! Is there a restaurant or recipe that has your favorite curry? Spicy or mild?

–Definitely like curry. My favorite place to get curry also happens to be my favorite restaurant, which serves Vietnamese and Cambodian food. I love their shrimp curry and they have spring rolls to die for!

What was the BEST thing you ate yesterday?

–Leftovers. But not any leftovers – leftover spaghetti and meatballs made by my mom. Unfortunately the leftovers didn’t include any sausage, which is my favorite part of the meal. Fortunately there was enough sauce left for me to take home and freeze for the future!

Random question….. After you wear your clothes where do you put them?

–Laundry basket or bathroom floor. Depends how lazy I am. I don’t wear things more than once, because I know I could lose track of how often I wore them before washing.

Reply

We had lobster tails yesterday and now I wish it was the 4th of July every day.

I too throw my clothes everywhere. I try to at least keep them in a pile, but it doesn’t always work out. The dude is always finding my socks everywhere :]

Reply

Snickerdoodles are my favorite – please share!

I make a compromise with my laundry. Fold them neatly then leave them on the floor where my cat will nest and cover it all in hair. Then it goes back into the washing machine.

Reply

I have to put my clothes away immediately because I cannot stand the clutter. I am a bit of a perfectionist! I love having everything in its place and my clean clothes’ place is in the drawers or hung up!

Reply

I am sorry to admit that my answer is C. I would LOVE to be more organized and wash my clothes and then fold and put away like normal people but I just can’t do it. My fiance starts to complain when I have piles the size of people and the dogs are gonna get eaten by them. I’m super excited that you love curry too because it is our FAVORITE. We have a Thai place in town that makes the best yellow curry with pineapple and tofu. It’s amazing. I try to replicate it at home but it is a sad substitute. Hope yours was amazing!!

Reply

I miss golden spoon!!! that is the first thing i am having when i am back on so cal :)

Reply

Please please please share the recipe for the snickerdoole recipe!! :) I know my Dad would LOVE those!! :)
