My most nutritious eats ever.

I crashed.  I crashed hard.

After our fun afternoon daycationing I came home and napped for who knows how long.  I have no idea what bugs have attacked me but they have taken over my body and are chipping away at my sinuses. FYI Nyquil makes me a little dramatic (I write my posts at night) and it is t-minus 9.5 minutes until I am out like a lap for hopefully 12.4 hours.

When I woke up from my nap the only thing that sounded remotely good was saltines and salsa.  Try it, it won’t disappoint.  I am sure Charlie’s dog bone on the floor is very appetizing.

An hour later Billy offered to make his famous FROACHED eggs but my runny nose did not feel like runny yolks.

This is how Charlie sits when we cook.  He wants to be a part of the family time.

In came my second nutrient packed choice of the night.  White potato smothered in ketchup (I put it on after the picture so that you will not see how I put on approximately 1 cup of the stuff on my potato).

Will someone shape my eyebrows for me…. one is a tad bit higher than the other.

A few episodes of Chopped later and a short cat nap, there was one thing that I KNEW would heal me instantly plus we still had mula left from the DAYCATION GIVEAWAY to spend on ice cream of course!  You are welcome for not being in the below picture with my liquid filled head high off of cold medicine.

Nothing like smooth peanut butter cookie fro-yo to soothe a sandpaper throat.

Early morning long run and coming home to husband doing the dishes. Time at the lake and IL’s in town! And of course s’mores, bonfire, fresh fruit and other great food.

Hope you feel better ASAP!!! Love the baked potato/ketchup myself, even when i am not sick.

Canada Day shenanigans for me! Drinks on the deck and lots of snacks! Boys dragging the couch up a steep rock cliff and chilling up there. The usual! Hope you feel better soon!

What did I do last night? SLEPT! HA! I had a super sugary day yesterday (its was birthday hangover day so I had to eat ALL the leftover birthday cake, oh yes I did.)
No 4th of July races this year, sadly I think I need to take a few FULL days of rest before doing anything again as I dont think I properly rested/recovered after my 10K race last Sunday (first one ever and I placed in my AG!!)
I hope you feel better soon!! Whenever I start getting sick I take Apple Cidar Vinegar SEVERAL times a day (a few times I mix it with raw honey and hot water as well-get the Braggs brand of vinegar if you’re going to do this) and, as strange as it sounds, I take about a tsp of salt STRAIGHT a few times a day, oh and drink a TON of water, like 10 16oz glasses. EVERYtime I have done this this year, I have avoided a full blown sickness!! (((HUGS))) and prayers your way!!

I was working until 11PM, so nothing super exciting :(

But I’m looking forward to tonight because I get the night off! I have plans to cook with my boyfriend, relax and maybe watch Monte Carlo!!!

I really want to run a July 4th race, but there aren’t many near me. I think we’re going to just see fireworks.

Btw do you call it Fourth of July or July 4th??

I hope you feel better soon!!! I started to get that scratchy throat, runny nose, headache thingy 5 days ago and it still hasn’t gone away. I too ate Fro-Yo and lots of ice cream thoughout the week. No races for me this weekend. I am in serious workout/running withdrawal right now and could dropkick anybody that I see running just out of pure jealousy!

It was Canada Day so we went to the lake, ate ice cream (banana double chocolate), visited a candy store (consumed everything I ate – laffy taffy, maple candies and gummies, walked along the beach and decided we were still hungry/thirsty so went for drinks and “pochos ” (like nachos but with cut potatoes – genius!) and then watched the BEST fireworks I have seen in years!

Feel better soon!

Hope you get to feeling bet my night last night was full of writing a 10 page paper! Exciting stuff right there!

Used my new road bike with my clips for the first time in Central Park this morning. Definitely tipped over in front of a whole group of people. Definitely have scrapes on my elbows and knees like a 5 year old. But it was awesome!! Can’t wait for more Central Park bike rides!!!

Last night I went to a concert of one of my favorite folk artists. It was AMAZING, but it ended after midnight, and I was so tired driving home. And then my dog woke me up at 6am.

I hope you feel better soon.

Eeew having a cold sucks!! I’m running a half marathon on Monday for the 4th. My whole family and a bunch of friends will also be running the race. Plus, one of my friends is running her first full! Should be a fun race! I’m actually looking to PR because it is “fast and flat!”

Reply

I watched Food Inc for the first time last night! So eye opening. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to watch it!

No 4th of july races for me but I do have some runs planned!

I hope you feel better.

Today I slept in (7 a.m. baby!), went for a run, ate breakfast, made granola bars, showered, and now just got done having lunch.

Probably no 4th of July race for me–I’m still recovering from my marathon.

Adorable picture of Charlie! My dogs are ALWAYS in the kitchen while I’m cooking (praying I drop something for them to eat!).

Last night I went out for sushi with my mom, dad, and brother while Daniel helped the guys roofing our house. I came home and we chilled while watching TV and then hit the sack fairly early. Nothing too exciting haha.

I’m praying for you right now that you will feel a MILLION times better!

Sorry you’re sick! That sucks. Date night with my husband last night, then some catching up on Master Chef. It’s taken the place of our weekly Biggest Loser episodes. Have you seen it? It’s surprisingly entertaining.

I was going to do a 4th of July 4 mile race, but decided to save my money for some better races this October. Race fees can really add up!

I’m excited to enter your SOYJOY giveaway! I’m going to go do that right now. After I found out I was gluten intolerant, SOYJOY bars became a staple in my diet. :)

I hope you feel better!! I saw my bf last night for the first time in 6 weeks :). I will not be running a race on the 4th- I have to prepare my stomach for some delicious eats instead.

I went to the farmer’s market to get beets for a salad I wanted to make and my dog pooped in the middle of the sidewalk and I got nasty looks. I also had a great swim in cool waters this morning. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

My friday night was pretty pathetic – yoga, went to a friend’s house for a bit, and hubby had to work so I watched a Frasier marathon and read blogs. Cold medicine makes me SO high I can’t take it when I teach! My Saturday has been great – just did my first swim/bike/run to train for my first triathlon coming up in three short weeks! Now I am relaxing and if you can believe this I have a huge froyo craving (possibly from reading your blog) and NO ONE can/will go with me!

mmmm love FRO YO!! :)

Rode 50 Miles through the mountains on Skyline Drive in Virginia. Amazingly beautiful. Will post about it soon! Followed it up with an 8 mile run and frozen lemonade. Refueling with PB&J and Chocolate Milk.

Busy living in a perfect day.

Oh I am so sorry you are under the weather…and in Cali?! No bueno! You know I love the pic of Charlie right? Aren’t dogs basically furry people? If not, dont tell my Cooper!

You still look beautiful NyQuil induced coma or not!!

I’m sorry you’re not feeling well! I hope you get better quickly! Although I have to admit I love an excuse to knock myself out with drugs. :)

My awesomesause Saturday includes an an amazing 17 mile run in which I broke the key fob (the only thing I ran with) and locked all my stuff into the car that only has one key.

Fortunately I burned 2022 calories on my run so I can spend the rest of the day eating. Which is pretty much all I want to do anyway.

I’m sorry your sick! Hope you feel better. Being sick in the summer time is the worrrrst. I’m glad you got fro yo to make you feel better. Something awesome about my Saturday? Hot weather and a nice tan :-) FEEL BETTER!

I like the Wasa thin crisps with salsa, so I imagine it’s pretty similar texture-wise.

I went to the Angels v Dodgers game last night. It was so much fun!!

And on the 4th I plan to run my first 5k!! I’m excited but super nervous. Can’t wait!

Mmmm…yogurtland! That is a dangerous place for me to end up!

I sat in a lot of traffic coming home from work and then almost immediately turned around and headed out to the door to First Friday’s where I walked around, had some delicious coffee and tried my best to avoid the unhealthy food truck eats surrounding me.

Reply

last night the husband and I had a babysitter and date night. We went to Thai food and then a comedy club (my first time). We came home to discover that from our new house we could see fireworks from the next town over. I am running 12-14 miles tomorrow so no 4th of July racing for me.
