Triple Tangent Tuesday

Happy Tuesday my beautiful (and handsome) loves!!! Today is Tuesday and you know what that means…..it is time to share three completely random things about me that I am sure you really didn’t need to know but I feel the need to share with you.

——————————————————————————

My mom gave me this nifty keychain lipstick thingee and it is probably the coolest thing I have gotten all year (don’t worry Billy, the treadmill beats it:)   I am crazy and have to have some sort of moisture on my lips at all times.  This way I have an easily accessible lip gloss within arms reach as I am driving.  Do not drive distracted.

IMG 0388

It also gives me more incentive to not lose my keys.  Instead of frantically searching my surroundings twice a day for my keys it will only be once a day.

——————————————————————————

I haven’t washed my hair since last Thursday.  I know that is gross and you really didn’t want to know that but summer in my mind= ponytail, swimsuit and flip flops.  Getting ready just seems wrong.

Photo on 2011 06 07 at 13 40

I am sure you all wanted a close-up of my ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ ponytail.  My hair is to a point that I no longer need hairspray and it will just stay however I want it to naturally…..good thing or a bad thing?

Maybe (I said Maybe…..don’t hold me to this BIlly) I will wash my hair after work today if I have enough time but if chocolate chip cookies and The Bachelorette are calling my name you better believe I am waiting one more day to tackle the birds nest.

—————————————————————————–

Last night at Wendy’s I had a brilliant idea.  They have a salad dressing that I am completely obsessed with (Pomegranate Vinaigrette) and I asked them for some extra packets because I like to drench my salad.  They gave them to me for free and I saved them for my lunch today.  I didn’t lie…..I do like to drench my salad with salad dressing, that is the truth, I just failed to mention I wasn’t going to drench it last night.

IMG 0390

I am going to be a great example to my future children.

—————————————————————————-

Today’s Drivers Ed Stops:

-32 ounce gatorade (clearly I needed the electrolyte’s after my 3 miles yesterday).

-Saver’s (a second-hand clothing store) the students needed an outfit for their next dance. I gave them 10 minutes and sat in the car and read.

-Nordstrom.  I needed some new make-up.

-A park.  I went down the slide three times and swung on the swings for a few minutes.

Those are the things that have kept me sane thus far in my journey.  Oh yeah….and a pack of skittles.

—————————————————————————

PS did anyone notice in Billy’s Guest Post that he didn’t change the colors in his post…..I thought for sure he would have kept to the theme of color a.d.d on HRG and throw in some pastels.

————————————————————————

Tell me a tangent or two (or three or more) about YOU!!! I look forward to reading these every Tuesday!

Chapstick, lip gloss or lip stick?

-I love me some thick gooey lip gloss!

Do you have any fun keychains on your keys? What are they?

-Billy and I share a keychain (one car ((that works)) family) and so I can’t get away with much….hopefully he doesn’t notice the lip gloss keychain.

I have been on almost a weekly rotation TOO with my hair! AH! It IS kinda amazing though how long you can stretch it out without washing it. ;)

I love that you make your drivers ed kids run errands for you. That is so funny, I bet they love you!

Reply

I HAVE THAT GLOSS!! But *sigh* I still manage to lose my keys 10000 times a day… !

Really, I should spend all of Monday thinking of a TT cos it takes me so long!! Tangent: I made cookie dough nut butter last week, and I ate it in less than two days. Self-control is overrated ;)

P.S. I can’t remember the last time I washed my hair. I should never have bought dry shampoo, because now it’s just replaced the real thing! :P

Reply

Man, I have tried the tresseme dry shampoo and it doesn’t work for me! :( maybe im not spraying enough o_O?

I need lip gloss on a key chain so I won’t throw all the items in my bag on my desk at work for the world to see while trying to find stinkin chapstick!

Tangent: I made peanut butter truffle cookies! They were AMAZING! So amazing I am going to have to run all afternoon in the 100% alabama weather and do an extra 20 minutes of zumba…I question if the cookies were worth it!

Reply

Cookies are ALWAYS worth it. I think I NEED that pb truffle cookie recipe!! Good luck in that weather!!

I hate lip gloss, it feels so sticky on my lips. I am, however, obsessed with chap stick, all flavors and colors.
My hair gets washed at least once a day, sometimes twice. It’s super curly and will turn into a frizzball if I don’t.

Reply

Omg seriously you would be the BEST health teacher. Where were you when I was in high school?!?!?!

I actually love chapstick more than the sticky stuff. I hate having my hair stick to my lips!

I can’t believe that you haven’t washed your hair since Thursday. I’ve always wanted to wait 3 days to wash my hair, but I can never hold out. You should go for the world record!

Tangent: I actually don’t like frosting. If it’s too thick and sweet, it makes me gag… Don’t hate me, Janae!

Reply

We will still be best friends but I can’t promise that I won’t try to bring you to the dark side of frosting loving:)

Reply

Lip gloss all the way! I always have at least 3 types in my purse! My favorite is the Victoria Secret stuff!

Reply

I love hugh jass glossy lips too. Twinnies! I’m obsessed with eyebrows though. I cannot stand people with unibrows or no brows ha.

Reply

Completely addicted to chapstick. I have them everywhere….night stand, make-up drawer, purse and so on. The worst part is I usually have more then one in those locations. Can’t live without it. Not a huge fan of lip gloss though. It’s so sticky!

Tangent….12 days in my ‘walking boot’ for a stress fracture. Maddening! Not sure how you survived 3 + months! And I can’t do any weight bearing cardio which really means no cardio.

I have a climbing clip on my key chain so I can clip it to ANYTHING! My purse, belt loop, diaper bag, etc. Looks dorky but I don’t loose my keys!

Reply

NOOOOOOOO!!! Girl, I am SO SO SORRY about your stress fracture and that you have to be in a walking boot! That breaks my heart! I am hear for you and you will come out of this STRONGER than ever!

Reply

I wish I had you as a driver’s ed teacher! We never went anywhere. True story: My driver’s ed teacher got a ticket for making an illegal turn while I was in the car. He did lots of other crazy stuff and was fired a few weeks later.

It’s been awhile for my hair too. I once had a stylist tell me that I should only wash my hair once a week because it’s so thick. When I’m feeling lazy, I use that as my excuse. :)

I LOVE lip gloss too! :)

Reply

Oh and I just started my running blog, so I did my tangents there!

Reply

I love anything by Mac Cosmetics…preferably just lip conditioner for the day use – lipsticks a little much if you ask me…I ain’t no career woman!

Reply

MAC IS MY FAVORITE!!! Agreed on the lipstick….plus I don’t know how to put it on ha!

Reply

PS Whenever I leave comments on your blog it doesn’t show up…I think it goes to spam!!!

Reply

I too am a chapstick/lipgloss fiend. I have to have it!

Reply

Chapstick. Hands down!

Reply

You must try carmex in chap stik form, it lasts forever!

And comes in a DELICIOUS strawberry flavor! …I’ve been tempted to eat it before, it smells so good. Creepy, yes, I know :)

Reply

Hahahhaa wait I wish you had been my driver’s ed teacher. I had Strass, an Italian guy who liked to listen to country music and baseball scores at the same time

Reply

I love that you’re being a grown up and working right now. You’re my hero. :)

I love lipgloss!!

Reply

You have such a fun personality! Yes, I have been stalking your blog along with all your cute, yougurtland lover, running friends. I actually met you once at runner’s corner during a form class. That’s how I found out about your blog. Anyway, I have loved reading all the fun you’ve been having while you are healing (sorry about that btw). I am so happy you are getting back to running. I am running my first ever half marathon this saturday (the Utah Valley) and it has been so helpful and inspiring to read about your running experiences. I even decided to jump into blog land and start my own running blog!

You are definitely brave to be a drivers ed teacher!! Ha ha!
I need to get me one of those lip gloss thingy’s

Reply

YOUR COMMENT MADE MY DAY!! Thank you SO SO MUCH!!! We met at Runner’s Corner…WAHOO!! We are already best friends. We should go to Yogurtland. I will be watching you at the UV half and you are going to do AMAZING!!! Thanks again for your sweet words!

Reply

I’ve missed your blog!!! (I’ve been busy with work, travel, and visitors but I still read all the time… just haven’t commented).

I have to admit, I don’t loooove gloss. I can’t stand my hair sticking to it and my husband doesn’t like to kiss me if my lips are all goopy. I’m all about Rosebud Minted Lip Balm. So good. So minty. And leaves my lips soooo soft (and it’s husband-approved!)!!

My only nifty key chain is the lock to my U-lock. I’ve been riding my bike to work lately and I need to keep that thing handy!

Reply

chapstick for sure! I love that you use driver’s ed to run your errands

Reply

Sorry! I’m not really a freaky stalker lady! My new blog is theworthofmysole.blogspot.com. Just in case!! :)

Reply

you are soooo funny!
Tangent: every afternoon about this time I get a huge craving for a piece of biscotti that they sell at the coffee shop in my building. This is bad for two reasons: a) the biscotti has 260 calories in it b) it costs $2.10. WHAT!? That is way too much money for a piece of biscotti that I want everyday. I let myself have it maybe once a week and I like to eat it with a cup of caffeine free tea. Today I got lucky and when I went down to get it a Director at my company that I sometimes baby-sit his kids was paying for a cup of coffee and he paid for my biscotti! woop woop.

Reply

Now I am CRAVING BISCOTTI!!! That sounds amazing but PRICEY!!! SO SO HAPPY that you got a free biscotti….that would totally make my day!!

Reply

I love ordering extra dressing to use later….I even had a condiment baggie in my fridge! :P

Reply

I need to get myself a condiment baggie…thanks for the brilliant idea!

Reply

I put tons of keychains on my keys so I can more easily grab them in my way-too-big purse!

Reply

I wish I had a Driver’s Ed teacher like you back in the day, so fun! I’m a chapstick girl all the way. I love the way gloss looks but I end up getting my hair stuck to it and it looks like I’m constantly eating my hair. NOT a good look for me!

Reply

1. I bought my very first mango today
2. I only eat whole peanuts, no halfsies
3. I just recently discovered I am lactose intolerant!

I love the lip gloss from Bath & Body Works, coconut vanilla!
I also recieved 5 FREE asics chapsticks @ our local running shoe store :)

Reply

You’re gonna love this:

Tangent about me that I’m positive you don’t know is that I’m PREGNANT!!!!! (Don’t comment specifically about that on my blog because I haven’t told everyone yet)
I’ve been sketchy on the workouts lately because I’m throwing up, but I’m sticking to 3 workouts a week and hoping to jump back into running in the 2nd trimester. Baby #4 is due in January and I’m FREAKING out!!! The blog will once again be devoted to a hot bod after baby!

Reply

THIS ABSOLUTELY MADE MY DAY!!!! Girl, I am SO SO happy for you!!! AHHH BABY NUMBER 4!! You are the best mom ever. I am sorry that you have been sick but you WILL be back out there in the next trimester…keep me updated gorgeous girl!

Reply

wowzas! i havn’t washed mine since sunday and i thought that was bad! my husband literally tried to throw me in the shower last night but i wasn’t having it. so your the winner! it doesn’t even look greesey!! LUCKY! and my secret to successful moisturefull lips is Vaseline! i take it EVERYWHERE! but beware… once you start you can’t stop… and i’m not gunna lie about the fact that i put it on my entire face and use it an moisturizer mmmmmm. congrats on the running!

Reply

I am obsessed with chapstick! It has to be Carmex Strawberry lip balm. I have about 10,000 around my house, in my car, in all of my purses, at work, everywhere! I also loveee lipgloss :)

You should be proud of not washing your hair for so long. Think of how healthy it is now! Especially after your crazy swimming schedule and you were worried about it feeling like straw :)

Reply

I love your blog! I am a DI collegiate athlete and just started one of my own…would love to be able to join the blogging community!

Reply

http://strongistheskinny.blogspot.com/

Reply

carmex for me. any of the glossy/frilly stuff ends up “missing” the second this 6 year old daughter of mine can lay her hands on it.

tangent: i WASHED my hair today!!! you’re welcome. and, i realized last night, after driving past taco time that i have never eaten at taco time and it’s been at least 10 years since i’ve had taco bell.

Reply

I eat peanut butter crackers like most people eat Oreos! split them apart, lick off the peanut butter, then eat. :)

Reply

I love lip gloss too! Have you ever tried Victoria Secret’s lip gloss? It’s DIVINE. I’m tellin’ ya, they may “specialize” in undergarments but I think they rival sephora in makeup finds :-)

I haven’t washed my hair in a while either…it’s in a bun. Again. I will not tell you how many days it’s been, but I think it’s been less than you, so I’ve got that goin for me!

Reply

I go days without washing my hair too. Ponytails and summer go hand in hand!

Reply

-I too love me some thick gooey lip gloss. Victoria’s Secret has the best :-) Little known secret!

Reply

Victoria’s Secret does have the BEST lip gloss EVER!!! Okay, so every time I try to comment on your blog it doesn’t show up!! CHECK YOUR SPAM!!!

Reply

GIRL. genius move on the salad dressing. like… i am so proud of you. GENIUS.

Reply

My Billy and I share a car, too, so our key chain is pretty boring! I wish I had a big fluffy purple bird on there. ;) I love chapstick during the day, lip gloss at night! And your hair doesn’t even look dirty in that photo!

Reply

I wash my hair once a week too; hair washing day is long run day(Sat) basically because by the time Thursday rolls around I realize, well I have to wash my hair Saturday so why do it today also?

Tangent:How to wash your hair once a week (for those who say they can’t)
Wash your hair after your hardest workout and rest the next day (2 days of clean hair)
Don’t use products in your hair, wear straight for first 2-3 days
Curl you hair and use as much product as you want to try to hide greasy-ness or use baby powder for 2-3 days
Wear it up 1-2 days
Wash and…
Repeat

Reply

AWESOME TIPS!!! THANKS SO MUCH GIRL!!!

Reply

Have you ever been to the Soul Cycle spin classes in NYC? I am obsessed. The teacher is on a platform with candles, and 2 pound hand weights are even used during one song. I took my boyfriend last week and he was so proud telling everyone about his first spin class, “the most he has ever sweat.” Cross-training I actually enjoy!

Reply

I love Burts Bee’s pomagrante lip stuff… my favorite, and I have one by my bed, one in my purse and one at my desk at work… always have to have one handy.

Man I wish I could wash my hair once a week, I will try Tiffany’s tips though!

Tangent: I make a double batch of the Fitnessista’s amazeballs to last all week, and they only last about 1 1/2 days… almond butter is my weakness, plus they taste just like cookie dough, without the raw eggs.

Reply

haha I think triple tangent Tues are HILARIOUS

so i dont wash my hair either unless i have to. I definitely go 3-4 days on the regular. I think when it does what you want it to naturally you’re having a GREAT hair day!!!!

I always need vaseline around : i need thick moisture!

and my keychain is a cute heart locket my boyfriend got me for christmas with our pictures in it ( super small lol) because i used to drive all day for my old job and my keys were something i had with me constantly! hes such a cutie!

Reply

Before I go to bed everynight I have to suck on a cough drop. Don’t ask me why, a long time ago when I was little and sick I noticed how they clear my nasal passage really well and kind of put me to sleep…so now I think it is just a mind thing. Ha, I am crazy!!
I much prefer chap stick, of course the flavored kind. Sometimes my lip gloss just gets to messy and sticky.

Reply

I am a total chapstick fiend. I used to like ooey gooey gloss but I am a spaz and my hair always ends up stuck to my face. not attractive. :)

My tangent is that today I have a hollow leg. I couldn’t stop eating. (2 bowls of berry berry kix before my run? really michelle?) and I just ordered fro yo delivery for dinner. It won’t fill me up but.. well, it will fill my soul up with happiness and that’s all I need. :)

Reply

I have all my former pet dogs’ (who’ve gone to the great kennel in the sky) name tags on my keys!
My friends think it’s so creepy… like my keys are like a really morbid dog graveyard or something. hahahahah

I used to have a little mini Rubix Cube keyring but it made me so frustrated because a) I could never do it, and b) it was kinda heavy and used to bash against my thigh while I was driving.

Random Tangent #1: My full name is Elizabeth Charlotte Ann. When I was teensy-tiny, my mum used to call me “Lizzie-Lottie-Annie”. I think that’s so cute and I’m trying to convince people to call me that again but so far no luck!! :(

Random Tangent #2: I am also kinda opposed to showers/hair washing. The other night my boyfriend made a deal with me – If I had a shower after the gym, he’d go get my favourite pizza for dinner. I whined about it and asked if I had to wash my hair. His answer? “Do you want garlic bread or not?!”
He knows me too well. I caved :(

Random Tangent #3: I go through weird phases with herbs, where I’m OBSESSED with a particular one and put it on everything. At the moment I am DILL-CRAZY! My sandwich today for lunch… Cheese, raspberry jam, and DILL! …hmm I guess that’s a kinda weird combo anyway. haha oh well.. it’s DELICIOUS! :D

Reply

um, my computer crashed and had a virus, I haven’t slept in past 3:45am for the past 4 days due to travel/race, and I just got home to a house with no food. ahhh, life is good. feed me some skittles please!

Reply

You are MISSING OUT!! they sell gloss on a clamp that can attach to your key chain on a retractable chain. It’s on my id lanyard and it makes my life.

Reply

Tangent – when I was in driver’s ed, the teacher told us a story about how he had a Buffalo head in his backseat and one of his basketball players (he also coached girl’s basketball) found it. Driver’s ed was weird, but at least I got to drive after 9 when I was 17 (in NY you normally have to wait until you are 18). I’m on your hygiene plan. I am recovering from my first ultra marathon and forced myself to shower today after two days off – when I don’t work out, I don’t shower. It doesn’t help that I teach with no AC and the temps have been in the 90s. One more random tangent – I hate sweet salad dressings – sorry! Loved your Tuesday post though, as always!

Reply

i love the keychain lip gloss idea but i’m not a fan of a lot of things on my key chains so i probably wouldnt like it :(

i’m a lip gloss kind of girl but i have to have plain spf chapstick {soft lips} on before a run and plain burts bees chapstick on before bed. weird. i love some lip gloss though. i think have a pretty big stash right now too!

tangent ~ i have to wash my hair every single day because i have a million fly aways and super greasy hair! its so greasy that sometimes i feel like i need to wash it twice a day even if i didnt work out or anything. and my hair has a mind of its own, on any given day i have no idea how its going to react. i have to switch my shampoo and conditioners every couple of days so that i dont get too much static. ugh. hair. i wish it was more simple for me!

Reply

Burt’s Bees all the way!

And I wish my hair looked like that after not washing it for that long! I can barely go a day because it’s so greasy and nasty!

Reply

hahaha, sounds like a fun day at driver’s ed!

Washing your hair everyday is for wimps. Only the cool kids can handle grease :) (I rarely wash my hair more than a couple times a week.

A tangent about me: Dresses are my favorite because they require no thinking when getting ready. Just throw it on and run out the door.

Reply

Chap stick at home, lip gloss out and about!

I have a sweet Lake Powell keychain that flashes my name using solar power. It rocks! The key hook next to my door makes it so I never lose my keys. Good think too because I’d be in trouble if I lost the keys to Lone Peak High School ha.

When I took drivers ed, I did 15 min of range followed by 15 min of road and my teacher passed me off. Those two things are supposed to take hours and I did it all in 30 min. Don’t ask me how I did it. My teacher told me not to tell anyone he let me get away with that. Haha that was cool with me!

Reply

I need my Burt’s Bees at arms length at all times. I’m pretty sure I’m eating it while I sleep at the rate it disappears.

I have a bottle opener/flash light key chain. It’s amazing.

I already passed driver’s ed with flying colors years ago, but I wish I could take it again with you!

Reply

I am beyond jealous of your ability to go multiple days w/o washing your hair, I wish I could do that! I have to wash mine every day, it’s super oily. Sometimes I can skip a day but I have to use lots of dry shampoo and wear it up with a headband. By the end of the second day I can literally smell my stinky, dirty hair. TMI?….nah…..
I used to know a girl in high school who had curly hair that was very dry and she could go so long between washings that she would forget the last time she washed. Now that is an amazing ability.

I made strawberry cupcakes with icing tonight. They were amazing! Be jeal.

Reply

haha, apparently all runners have almost everything in common….
Training for a marathon and I only wash my hair about 2 times a week. Have chapstick in every nook n cranny of my life, and must must must have peanut butter or chocolate with almost all meals. Love you guys, reading your stuff makes my day.. especially when its just tuesday but already feels like a friday

Reply

JANAE!

I am more of a chapstick kind of girl. Hair sticking to my lips make me angry so I tend to stay away from gloss. Maybe I should start putting my hair up in a sweet ponytail like yours and I won’t have that problem!

Tangent: Reading your blog everyday both excites me and depresses me because I love you but I get jealous of your froyo (can’t eat it bc of the dairy) BUT GUESS WHAT?!?! I just found a place in Toronto that has dairy-free froyo in a bunch of different flavours and there is a topping bar where you can just LOAD IT UP yourself. I see sugar mountains in my future. If I get cavities it’s your fault.

xo

I love your Triple Tangent Tuesdays! They are one of my favorite things. I definitely stole the idea and have made it a tradition on my blog too… forgive me!

I’m with you on washing your hair. I was so proud today because I washed my hair AND actually took the time to do eye makeup. This never happens. Lately I’ve been on the once-a-week plan with washing my hair… I’m not proud, but I have plenty of free time!

Reply

I love all your random things you share with us! Love it! Tangent… Everyday I have to have some sort of food with melted cheesey goodness on top and dip it in salsa!! My favorite though… popcorn!

I love Bobbi Brown Lip gloss!! Its fabulous!

Reply

that’s such a cute keychain! your face is priceless by the way…haha. and i wish i had a driver’s ed teacher that let me take a detour to the park! i had a really fat and bald dude that was super strict. :/

Reply

definitely lip gloss.

I have a keyring that has a silver tube type thing. It unscrews in the middle and there is a tiny little bottle of perfume inside.

Reply

I just added a new keychain to my keys. It’s an adorable keychain from Brighton. I love Brighton stuff

Reply

hi, my name is alyssa… and I should belong to chapstick-ers annonymous.

Reply

Carmex is the WAY! I’m NOT a girlie girl so hardly any makeup and NEVER any lipgloss or lipstick. Just good ‘ole fashioned Carmex, baby.

Not really a tangent, but more of a response to yours: I HAVE TO WASH MY HAIR EVERYDAY!!! You are lucky there….I get wayyy to greasy! :0( I always ask for an extra dressing packet and take it home with me AND I love that you have a sweet tooth. FROSTING ROCKS. Seriously, I’d give up my kids for frosting. (Ok….not really, but I’d consider it!)

Reply

Just wanted to let you know that I think your blog is my absolute favorite!! It is soooo so fun to read and so honest and hilarious, I look forward to reading it everyday!!!

Reply

That is also my favorite dressing! And I, too, ask for extra packets for future salads. This is totally normal behavior!!
