I got home from the gym and I was a sweaty mess= breakfast smoothie. Heaven.   It cooled me off= no shower right?!? I am going swimming later anyways, don’t worry.

I did get ready though because I had another date.  Billy is starting to get pretty jealous.

But first, meet Mr. Blue.   He really is only half that size..the rest is fluff.  This dog is the happiest little thing you will ever meet.  That tail does not stop wagging.

My cutest grandma took me out to Kneaders.  It is ‘our place.’  Carbs and conversation always means a good time.

I had the turkey sandwich on foccacia with a lil’ salad and drumroll for the most amazing part…….

Strawberry mountain of happiness.

I challenge you to eat this beauty without smiling, impossible I tell you.

Where do your grandma’s live?

-Mine is just 20 minutes away but for most of my life she lived in California. Life is just better with her closer:)

Did you have pet’s growing up?

We always had dogs (shelty, poodle and golden retriever) and I LOVED IT!!!

Choose your favorite strawberry dessert….  strawberry pie, strawberry tart, ice cream with strawberries or vanilla cupcake with strawberry icing?

Can you guess mine?

My grandma lives 2 1/2 hours from me, and I see her when I can. I am trying to figure out a time to go visit you soon actually!!

I had a cat until I was 15. I loved her

Chocolate covered strawberries please!!

Hope you had fun swimming!!

The cupcake! I never met a cupcake I didn’t love. :-)

I’m gonna say yours is the ice cream. You eat way too much yogurt for it not to be!

Reply

You know me way too well!! I have never met a cupcake I didn’t like either!!!

awww that dog looks like an Ewok in that picture! I was fortunate to have one grandmother just 10 minutes away for most of my life but the other was (still is) in Puerto Rico. We’ve always had dogs in our house. I’m currently the mother of a boxer. As for strawberries, I love them dipped in chocolate or cream cheese dip. I’m guessing you love strawberry ice cream :D

Haha Blue’s face is too cute. He looks like a stuffed animal!!

Unfortunately, my grandparents all live in China, so I only get to see them about once every 4 years. And since they’re too old to travel on a plane for 15 hours, we can only see them when we have the time to visit China. But I think it’s awesome that you have dates with your grandma :)

I LOVE strawberry shortcake with pound cake, and chocolate dipped strawberries, of course!

That dog is the cutest thing ever!

My grandmas both live in Michigan, so super far away from me. I did live very close to them when i went to college, though, so I got some major bonding time in then!

That dessert is awesome!

I had one dog growing up, but now that I’m an adult, I plan to never go a year without one! Bungee is the best thing ever!

What a cute dog! My grandma is in Florida half the year and Maryland the other half. She’s too far away as far as I’m concerned. Sad.

Reply

Awww!!! What a cute dog! And this just made me miss my Grandma :( She lives about 5 and a half hours away, so I don’t get to see her too often, but we do chat on the phone sometimes. We’re buds! :)

Both of my grandmas live in NY, I’m in NC. I hate being so far away from both of them.

Both of my grandmas live in Columbus, OH- my hometown..so I get to see them when I’m home :) I definitely had pets growing up and I miss them terribly. Vanilla cupcake with strawberry ice cream for sure!

Awww, adorable dog!! Your grandma is a cutie too. :)

I think my favorite strawberry dessert is either strawberry/rhubarb pie or strawberry ice cream. Yum!

Reply

That dog is super cute but he doesn’t look all that happy. I’d call him Grumps if I saw him :) Its probably just the breed and maybe am biased to think Golden Retrievers take the cake in the happiness department….

I grew up with my grandma just about 8 blocks away. It was heaven! We went there every chance we got, especially on Sundays after church because she always had a cake or sugar cookies just waiting to be eaten! My other grandparents were about 2 hrs. away, so I’ve been pretty lucky.

I love chocolate dipped strawberries or a fresh strawberry shake. Mmmmm!

Reply

That dessert looks insanely good!
My grandmother only lives 30 minutes away and I don’t see her nearly enough. You’ve just inspired me to give her a call :)

All of my grandparents live in Michigan- about 5 1/2 hours away from me. The distance is hard, especially as they’re (and I’m) getting older. I’m actually considering moving closer, if just for a year or two, so I don’t regret not spending more time with them and the rest of my relatives there!

Reply

This is adorable. I’m jealous your grandma lives so close. My grandmother lives on the other side of the country and I don’t like it one bit. Whenever I have a family I want everyone close… at least on the same side of the country.

Where do your grandma’s live?
Growing up my moms parents lived a few blocks away, they were in my same ward! So fun! My dads parents lived about 10 minutes away! I was one lucky grand-daughter! Now, since I am in South Jordan, they both live about 25 minutes away!

Did you have pet’s growing up?
Growing up I had dogs… First dog was a sheepdog named Truffles, Next was a Chocolate Lab named Mollie, Next was Cobie the Choc Lab, and Last was Buddie the Yellow Lab.. My parents still have him! Now, My little family has a black lab named Olive! I love dogs!

Choose your favorite strawberry dessert…. strawberry pie, strawberry tart, ice cream with strawberries or vanilla cupcake with strawberry icing?
Mine would have to be Homemade Strawberry Icecream! Yum!

Your Grammie is so sweet!

Reply

I am jealous of the strawberry mountain and how clean your grandma’s dog’s feet are……I can only dream that my stinky poodle would ever be that clean for more than 5 minutes!

Reply

My fav strawberry dessert is a tie between strawberry pie and strawberry shortcake. Yum!

My Grandma lives in a farmhouse in KS, which is the same house where she was born! And it’s the best, most happy, most lovely place on the planet.

We had loads of pets growing up. Dogs, cats, rabbits, even a couple sheep. :) My lifestyle at the moment is not conducive to pets, but you can believe that if it ever calms down I will definitely have one.

I’m going to go with strawberry tart!

And yay for going 4 miles!!

Reply

RABITS AND SHEEP TOO…..I am JEALOUS!! That is so so cool that your gma lives in the same house that she was born in!

Reply

Your Grandma is too cute! (so is her dog!)

-strawberries only need coolwhip. That combo (maybe with some chocolate chips) is always amazing

Reply

I agree 100% with you….strawberries and coolwhip=heaven!

Reply

Aaaw what a cute dog!!! :D My parents bought a dog when they got married, and we had him until he was 18!!! I’ve also had two cats, one here and one in the US!

Reply

Mr. Blue looks like a dog my gma had when I was growing up. That strawberry thing is so cute!

Reply

My grandma lives 30 minutes away from me and I love her living so close. I get to see her often, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Reply

SERIOUSLY…it is the BEST to have grandmas close!!!

Reply

My Gma (as we call her) lives around 20 minutes away too!

We had a dog growing up called Snuggles… haha, and then we had cats too, but they always ran away and we never had the same one for more than 2 years at a time sadly.

I would go with vanilla ice cream with strawberries! Or today I microwaved frozen strawberries and then stired them into Greek yogurt for my morning snack.

I live in Alaska and we have no family here. :( One of my grandma lives in Oregon and the other in Oklahoma. My grandma from OR is coming up this weekend!!!!! I haven’t seen here in a year, I am very excited to see here but a little nervous because I guess she has been losing her memory really bad. :( I hope she remembers me or I’m going to be crying in the airport.

Reply

how fun that you get to have lunch with your g-ma! jealous! ;)

Reply

ps, thanks for telling me to go to that pump class this morning… my buns will thank you tomorrow!

Reply

I love gmas :)

My grandmas live in Virginia (about 3 hours from me) and Tennessee. I get to see both in the next two weeks and I am pumped!

I had quite a few pets growing up. My brother and I had bad allergies and asthma when we were little so we couldn’t have dogs or cats. But we did have hamsters, birds, fish, and hermit crabs (yuck). Our peach-faced lovebird, Rainbow (haha), is 10 now!

My fave strawberry dessert is…chocolate fro yo with strawberries, bananas, oreos, and chocolate fudge…yum!

Reply

I miss my Grandmother terribly! I had no pets growing up :( but now we have a Yorkie named Baxter and we love him to pieces! I love strawberry pretzel salad, it’s a Southern thang!

Reply

I grew up with Shelties. They really are amazing dogs, but my parents got them from breeders. I won’t go on my breeder rant here, but I will say, it was pretty obvious that there was a lot of inter-family lovin’ coming out of that house. Our last Sheltie would run into walls. Yeah, not all there.

Reply

Favorite strawberry dessert = strawberry cupcake. With fresh strawberries in the batter and in the italian buttercream frosting. Oh, and it must be made by my sister. Because she makes the best cupcakes!

Reply

My grandma lives less than an hour away, but I really don’t see her as often as I should.

We always had at least one dog and cat growing up- now I have two pups of my own!

Reply

Strawberry ice cream please :) Aren’t grandmas the best? I get to see mine once or twice a month and it is always a blast, she spoils me way to much and always makes my day a little brighter. The pup and your gma are too adorable, awwwwww!

Reply

Oh your grandma is too cute! My mom’s mom passed away when I was in high school, but I got to spend a lot of time with her growing up. And my other grandmother is here in Dallas and I try to see her as much as possible! My favorite strawberry dessert is probably strawberry shortcake, but I also love strawberry cake with white icing.

Reply

I ADORE strawberry tarts. :) they make me so happy. and so do you.

Reply

Aww your grandma is adorable! Sadly, my grandparents have passed away but my dear parents live back in Nebraska.

I had a doggie when i lived in Chicago, an adorable beagle. Cutest guy ever! He lives in LA now (with the ex BF) but you’ll see him pop up on my blog every now and then.

Strawberry Pie Please!

Ohmygosh I LOVE Mr Blue. I want to cuddle him.

I had a rabbit and a bird growing up but always wanted a dog. As soon as I could afford it as an adult I adopted one and it was the best descision I ever made. I seriously don’t know what I did before her little furry face came into my life. :)
(Does that sound creepy? I just mean she’s a great dog and I couldn’t picture a time not having a dog!)

Reply

Aww, love Mr. Blue! I have literally never lived more than a few months of my entire 40+ year life without animals. I just don’t know how to operate without them.

And what sweet pic of your g-ma! Mine lived super long lives but are sadly all gone now. They were all an enormous part of making me someone that anyone would even want to like. They were amazing women. I’m forever in their debt.

Janae, I think you will like my post today!! Check it out! And, lloooove Mr Blue so cute!

4 Mile Run…woot woot!! I had a Golden when I grew up, and actually I was very jealous of it because it got more attention then I did. Now I have my own Golden and love it more than anything!
I would say mine would be a cupcake with the strawberry icing.

My grandma lives in my hometown and rocks my socks. Her sister, for whom my daughter is named, lives 2 hrs away from me in Philly.

We had 2 dogs, a chocolate lab and a bichon frise and a cat.

I like traditional strawberry shortcake with homemade whipped cream.

BTW, smoothie totally = shower.

Reply

I’m gonna go with.. ICE CREAM is your favorite dessert…

Reply

What a cute doggie! I had dogs when I was growing up – we went through 4 of them. :)

I’m going to guess your favorite dessert is… ice cream! :)

My grandma lives a 1 minute drive/5 minute run from my house! It’s amazing. She only speaks Italian though so communication isn’t 100%. I kind of combine English and Italian in hopes she will understand what I’m saying!

I like strawberry flavoured candy…does that count?

PS – I am STILL waiting for you to read my last post… HURRYYYYYY!

Reply

Strawberry tart! With ice cream and a cupcake on the side.

My grandma’s dog looks identical to this one. He’s absolutely insane though, hopefully this dog is not.

I heart strawberries! Strawberry season offically started today here so I am excited to go to a pick your own and get a ton of them! I am just about out of the jam I made last summer!
Favorite Strawberry Dessert! hmmm thats a hard one-It has to be my grandmas strawberry rhubarb pie! So good!
Grandmas are the best….Mine lives about 5 hours from me and it sucks!

I’m a total meat girl but the veggie avacado on focaccia bread is by far the best sandwich I have EVER eaten. Their brownies are the fudgiest. I miss Kneaders.

Currently my grandma lives an hour and a half away, but when I move to Eau Claire soon she’ll only be 30 minutes away!

My Granny lives far far away from me :( She’s in Tennessee and I’m in California. A part of the military life that I don’t like so much is being soooo far from family!

So cute! Btw, where in Cali will you be coming too?? I’m in So. Cal!!! Hopefully you’ll be around the area (because there are TONS of froyo places here). ahah

OH MY GOSH I WANT TO HUG THAT DOG, it’s soo cute!

That strawberry mountain of happiness looks divine! My grandma only lives half an hour away but I don’t get to see her very often. So I have decided to start calling her at least once a week, and emailing her just to tell her I love her and think she’s basically fantastic.
My favourite strawberry dessert? Tough to choose, probably just fresh strawberries when they are in season and ripe enough to burst in little packages of pleasure in your mouth. When they are out of season, nothing beats strawberry gelato!

Reply

1. My Grandma lives about 20 minutes away. I lived with her when I was younger and all through college. She is 96 now and she is still awesome!
2. I grew up with a dog named Sheba. She was awesome. She’s in doggie heaven now. :(
3. I pick the ice cream (vanilla) with strawberries. I love strawberries but I do not like strawberry flavored things.

I love Mr. Blue. He looks like my dog, Dexter!
