Little Charlie (puppy pics here) is not so little anymore, but he still loves to cuddle with his big sis. I forsee many beach runs with this bundle of energy this summer.
We went into our ‘room’ and this was on the bed. I keep trying to convince Billy that since he got the magazine (it is in a language I don’t speak) that both packs of swedish fish were for me and I would share one piece of chocolate with him if he did all of his chores and massaged my feet twice a day.
After catching up with everyone, laughing a lot and unpacking (boo, I hate doing things that involve work) it was time for dinner.
They all laughed when I assumed that the bowl of salad was mine and it was kind of awkward for a split second when I realized they thought I was just kidding. I wasn’t. I will slowly easy them into my rabbit ways.
Dinner was fantastic. My MIL is the best cook (ps she gives me daughter in law points when I do/say good things put there are also times that I get them taken away, so far I am still in the positive).
We had salad, a potato and meatloaf with homemade bbq sauce, I only drank about 1/3 cup of it straight.
And one more reason why I know that I was meant to be a part of this family……
Seriously. And they didn’t just do this because they knew I was coming. I think.
I better be careful, otherwise I might break the bed again.
I had the ‘Bananas Foster’ flavor and Billy was in pure heaven with his all time number 1 ice cream, eating it straight out of the container while watching Monk!!
I am out on my FIRST california run of the summer. I think I am going to really love the whole going from 203,049,938 feet to sea level thing.

Holy ice cream tower! Coffee is my favorite flavor, but the sweet chai sounds good too. My dog is my favorite running buddy ever because she gets SO excited when I start putting on my running shoes. She loves running, but she can only go about 3-4 miles in the summer because of the heat. She even barks and runs towards the door when she sees me running on the treadmill!

I think I’d go for the chai latte one, just b/c it sounds interesting. I’m a total DOG person. Allergic to and really just don’t like cats. I think they’re sneaky little things. Usually, I don’t run with my dog b/c she’s insane and spends the first mile jumping up like a lunatic and trying to bite the leash but we just got her this new harness thing that is amazing and my husband tried it out with her on a run yesterday and said it works pretty well. So she may get lucky and get another shot with me later this week :)

I would be eating the chocolate in a heartbeat. I’m a dog and a cat person- never thought I would like cats, but then my roommate and I got one in college, and he is the sweetest thing in the world. He’s also more of a dog (he likes to fetch :)) Thank god I get along with my bf’s family- they are awesome! His parents are divorced, and I love both sides of the family. It’s so so so nice to feel super comfortable and at ease whenever I’m with them!

I am a dog person. As I’ve mentioned before, I used to have the cutest dog when I lived in Chicago – he’s in Cali now. You should say hi. haha. He was such a little ball of energy so it was hard to run with him. He’d weave in and out. We’d usually make it about 3 miles at most.
If I ever have a boyfriend again (sigh haha), I vow to get along with his family! I got along with my previous boyfriend’s family just fine and I’m sure I’ll continue the streak this time around (please oh please make it soon ;-))

I try to jog with my Bullmastiff, but he drools a lot and it swings around and slimes down my leg. So gross!
I do get along with my inlaws… And the hubs gets along with my parents, but, he was totally confused when my parents gave him a sterling silver ice cream scoop and for a second, I thought that maybe we wouldn’t make it, but I’ve successfully converted him to an ice cream lovah. We’ll make it for sure!

I am a dog person, but my hub’s somehow talked me into getting a cat. I tried to put her on a leash and take her walking one day, but she couldn’t get over the fact that I usually don’t let her go outside so she basically laid down and played dead. Apparently she didn’t like me dragging her along either, weird?

My boyfriend is from a small town, so whenever we go back his whole family is always around. I love his family, so spending time with them is a blast!
I have a puppy, he is 6 months and I love him to death! He is a golden, and I walk him right now. I have tried running with him but I think he is still too little. He likes to run in front of me and wrap around me so I happen to trip alot lol! Hopefully in the future more runs with him.

I’m totally a dog person. I try to run with Bungee-girl, but she’s a slowpoke, so we only go a couple miles before she’s pretending to be a dead dog on the side of the road.
My in-laws are very nice, but they don’t understand me (or my sense of humor) at all, so it makes for some awkward get-togethers!

My in-laws are AWESOME!!! They live close to us, so my husband and I hang out with them much like you hang out with your parents. I feel very blessed.

You'd love his aunt, she's EPIC and can run and bike with the best of the guys…an amazing exercise demon, lol! :-) I can't eat dairy (I know, its terrible :-P) but if I could I would DEFINITELY go for the vanilla…Mmmm…and I think the best ice cream flavour in the world (theoretically) would be Ban and Jerry's baked alaska. I’d definitely go with the vanilla raspberry swirl. I can’t say I wasn’t surprised that coffee is Billy’s favorite ice-cream flavor. I think coffee is the one smell I love, but hate the taste of. My husband thinks I’m so weird for loving the smell of coffee as much as I do.

I am both a dog and cat person. I have 4 cats and 1 dog, and I also do cat rescue (I currently have 9 needing homes). I have an English Pointer and he is waaaaay too strong and too fast for me to run with. No worries – I live in the country and there are 3 random dogs that on any given day decide to run with me. I love it! (And I also find it “funny” that my husband doesn’t have any dogs run with him…They bite him instead:-o!)
I’ve been living vicariously through your running! I love that you are able to get back out there. I don’t know if you remember talking to me about my hip SF, which I got in April. My doctor’s appointment today was positive and he says he wants to spend the next month strengthening my hip/butt/pelvic muscles so that in 4-6 weeks….I can RUN AGAIN!!! This has been a long road, but your blog really helps. Thanks for being so generous in sharing your experiences with us.

SHUT.YOUR.FACE. I didn’t know ANYONE loved Swedish Fish as much as I did. My husband seriously laughs sometimes, saying that I only run so I can eat as many Swedish Fish as I want. (That’s only *partly* true.) :) He’s a Twizzler man, so there’s rarely chocolate in our house.
Given the Mountain O’ Ice Cream Goodness above, you could just hand me regular old vanilla. I worked in Japan for 9 months and Haagen-Dazs was the only thing that tasted remotely familiar. Go figure.
We are SO dog people. In fact, we’re weenie dog people. We have a 2 year old male dapple dachshund named Elvis. He certainly lives up to the coolness of his name. I love him, but weenie dogs do NOT make good running buddies. :/
And I’m SO the fave daughter-in-law in my husband’s family…mostly because I’m the only one. I like to think that if there were more, I’d still be the fave. I love his family and he loves mine! :)

I LOVE my husband’s family. I feel like they are my family and they enjoy the art of snacking/grazing and going to movies on Christmas Day, so I am so glad I get to hang out with them! However they are not cool enough to live in California and allow us to live there for 7 weeks. Sad.

I have a white lab that I take running every once in a while. He is only a year old so he still gets distracted with all the fun smells and friends he sees along the way. I would have to open all the containers minus the fruity ones and take a little bit from each because I can never choose just one flavor of ice cream. And probably put sprinkles on top. I get along great with my in laws and they are awesome people but I’m not sure I could live with them for 7 weeks! That’s a long time to live with anyone! We get along great but I do not fit in! They love southern cooking (read: everything fried in butter or bacon grease) so hearing that I was a vegetarian was a bit of a shock but they make tons of effort to make sure I have stuff to eat. They all love sports and I can’t watch or play anything with a ball, etc etc. Families are so different! I’m the world’s only dog hater – it doesn’t make me popular but I can’t help it! I am deathly allergic to cats. I do enough for animals by not eating them so I don’t feel I need to have them as pets or play with them and stuff.
