Taboule- get in my belly.

I got in a great swim yesterday after shopping even though I was SO tired and had ZERO desire to do anything.  I told myself just to jump in the water and then choose whether I wanted to jump right back out or stay in.  My reverse psychology on myself worked and as soon as I hit the water, it woke me up and I was ready to work for some endorphins.  I will answer your questions now….. yes, I am completely and totally addicted.

We started the night off by going on a walk!  How can you stay inside when the weather is this beautiful?!?!

IMG 6155

Lets just say I hit the wall within a hundred meters into the walk.   1.3 mph was killing me off.

IMG 6164

I hit it hard.  Time for some gatorade, shot blocks and mantras and I was able to finish strong.

IMG 6165

We had an awesome walk and the best part was analyzing each house we walked by…….what qualities we want to copycat.  I LOVE looking at homes and thinking about the future of not living in a house with wood paneling, pet mice and built in 1908 (I am not exaggerating).

I finally made it to Costco yesterday to stock up on the goods (including a 405 pack of popcorn) and my sister almost passed out when she saw her favorite item at Costco. She stocked up on the Taboule nd shared one of the tubs with us for dinner.

Taboule main ingredients: Parsley, lemon, cracked wheat, tomatoes, onions and seasonings.  I will be closet buying 20 of these babies at a time and eating it straight with a spoon while I finish Season 2 of ‘Make It or Break It.’  Billy still won’t stop making fun of me for crying twice during the season finale of a tv show about high school gymnasts.

IMG 6167

We cut up high fiber/protein wraps and broiled them for a few minutes to make some homemade chips.

IMG 6166

I think I might have gone back for 15ths…………..that is a new (non-ice cream) going back for more personal record.

IMG 6169

I don’t even remember what happened after that.    5 episodes of Chopped, waking up to candy wrappers all around me and caramel stuck in my hair even after I washed it today.  I will not cave and re-wash it.  I am sticking to my ‘saving money on shampoo’ movement.

I love Make it or Break it and I am so ashamed! I think girls our age love gymnastics because we grew up with the Olympic Dream Team. I still sneak watch the gymnastics during the Olympics.

I have never tried Taboule…I must find some! Looks yum.

Haha! I'm the same way. I coax myself into it by putting on my shoes and telling myself that I can quit if I'm not enjoying it… then I get my butt moving and always end up enjoying it :) Oh the beauty of mind tricks.

I work @ a salon, let me send you some good shampoo and have you ever tried DRY shampoo? You can go days without washing it, spray some dry shampoo in it and your good to go. It looks clean and no one will EVER KNOW :) my friend can go 17 days without washing her hair!!

I LOVE Taboule!! That stuff is so fabulous. I can never get enough, either.

You're right about the workout. The toughest part is just taking the plunge. Once I get going, I never want to stop.

haha! I am loving the pics…you and your sis always take the best pics! And that food looks so yummy! what a fun day!

I seriously could eat TONS of pizza. I am obsessed..it is so hard for me to stop! Last tv show I watched was Biggest Loser I think!

2nds… coffee!!!!!!!! I also LOVE pizza! I usually don't have to convince myself because I'm training for a race and that's all I need. Besides Im afraid getting really heavy as i age.

it's so true, that getting out the door is the hardest part of a workout! the rest is all butterflies and rainbows…. sometimes. If there is more of something, I go back for 2nds no questions asked, always. Especially- sweet potato fries, anything with hummus, and ice cream.

Mmm I love taboule! For working out, I trick myself by getting dressed. Then I feel like I have to do it.

I always go back for seconds when we have tacos. Last time we had them, I ate six. Seriously.

Janae, I am obsessed with your sisters hair! It is so long and gorgeous! I always go back for seconds, period. And if it's mexican food, I go back for 45th's. No shame!

Next time I'm in Costco I will be on the lookout for Taboule! It looks so good.

I have the best device for forcing me to go for my runs – my dog Dakota. She's grown up running 4-5 times a week, and she expects it. So she'll whine and sit and stare at me until we go! Perfect way to keep you on track with your running – buy a dog! Haha.

Waffles!

What was the last tv show that you watched?
24!

What do you do to convince yourself to do your workout?
I tell myself I can leave if I don't feel up to it once I start. Or I reward myself with a smoothie from my gym's cafe.

Make It or Break It is THE BEST!!!!

I LOVE going on walks and dreaming about my future home!

I always say the hardest part is walking out the front door.

congrats on making it through the wall ;)

I discovered taboule this year and can't believe I went so long without it!!! If I have to pick one food I always go back for seconds it's gotta be pizza!! One is never enough!

And I'm the creepy girl who likes looking IN windows at night…in a totally discreet way of course!

I love taboulli… funny so many different ways to spell it!

The last tv show? hmmm probably Blue Bloods finale.

Last show I watched was Biggest Loser! Can't wait until the finale this Tuesday!

I do the same thing as you to convince myself to workout. When I don't want to run I tell myself I'm going for a walk, and then once I'm out there I usually end up running. Or I just start without even thinking about it.

Seconds and thirds? Homemade cookies are the first thing that comes to mind since I just had three.

Those homemade chips look amazing!

Janae, I love your blog (and am totally creeping all over the archives). You inspire me to run farther, not get dispirited by injury and, obviously, to eat more candy!

PS Your hairband to keep books open idea is genius!

I go back for fourths on pasta… I love me so carbs a little too much!
I wish I had a sister, you two always look like you are having such a good time :)

I was watching Chopped last night too! One of my goals after finishing culinary school is to go on that show and rock it!

When I run, I just need to tell my dog we are going for a run. That wagging tail does it to me every time. Plus I can't let her down! Also, I just need to think about the delicious food I can't eat unless I burn those calories first!

my house was built in 1910, althoug you wouldn't know it…i love thinking about the many people who have lived here before my husband and I.

Reply

I go back for seconds on ice cream, and biscuits with honey.

If you love tabbouleh (like I do!), you should listen to this Tabbouleh Song!

Reply

How have I not heard of this Taboule stuff – looks scrumptious!! Way to go on powering through your walk. :)

Reply

Pizza is a definite…as well as any baked goods!

Last show I watched was Iron Chef Canada…love it.

Sometimes I go to sleep wearing my running clothes so that when I wake up I give myself no other choice but to hit the pavement!

Seconds? COFFEE!

Reply

I love costco, but I've never seen taboule :( I can always go back for seconds (or thirds) of fresh bread from the bakery. YUM

Reply

That taboule is the BEST. I have tried some from other places, but Costco's version takes the cake. Peanut butter I go back for allll day. On bread, crackers, apples, fingers, spoons. Anythaang.

This post cracks me up. I love how close you are to your family! And I totally want to steal your homemade chips idea!

Reply

i've never heard of taboule.. sounds delicious. Definitely looking for it next time I go shopping!

Pizza and cereal.

I, like you, tell myself to decide after 1 mile….once I get a mile in I'm fine. I have used this tactic when going out when I feel like staying home too. I'll say, just drive around the block and then decide, and I always go.

Happy Sunday!

I love taboule!! Great mix and THAT is something I could go back for second and thirds without getting full!

You and your sister are so beautiful–enjoy that gorgeous UT weather!!

Ooh I wondered if u guys had tabbouli because I never seem to see it on anyones blogs! I have it almost every day (live in Australia they have it at most of our supermarkets) but one of my friends is obsessed- she eats basically a family pack for lunch each day! So good and I always mix it in with heaps of other stuff. I'm glad u like it! And I love your blog! Xx

You and your sister look like you have such a great time together. Nice job on the walk. You rock. :)

I've been stalking your blog for a while but have never commented…I had to though when you mentioned crying while watching it Make it or Break It. I am OBSeSSED with that show and cry like every other episode!! so do not be embarrassed! Know that every week there is another always hungry runner girl in western PA watching it too…and probably crying lol

Reply

i use baking soda instead of shampoo and it works great (and at 50 cents a box, is way cheaper). i only have to "wash" my hair once a week. just google no poo method.

Reply

I always go back for more pizza. Last night I caught up on “How I met your Mother” we were about a month behind, we dvr it. If I want to entice myself to do a good workout I schedule it with a friend. It makes it go faster.

Reply

Thanks to this post I was at Costco today and you better believe I grabbed me some Taboule. My husband came home and was like, "What is this stuff?" And I was like, "The hungry runner girl eats it, need I say more?" We both loved it. Thank you for blessing my refrigerator with your awesome influence. : )

I love looking at houses too. I'll go with the pet mice, but I want a simple two story with a 3/4 wrap around porch, an attached two-car garage, a separate garage out back for wood projects, and the house has to be some sort of purple color.

But I ride, walk, skip by houses all the time and pick out things like the driveway's stonework or the upstairs windows that I'd like to copy.
