Rewarded for Good Behavior.

When I came home from school I was rewarded for my efforts over the last few months.

Billy said that I had done such a good job not spending any money for a while (lets just say I used to spend a little too much time at Nordstrom) and it was time to go shopping.

We headed on over to my favorite cheap, lasts only 4 washes (good thing I don’t wash my clothes very often) clothing store.

IMG_4520.jpg

I am now ready for spring.

I rewarded Billy for taking me shopping by getting his favorite 5 buck pizza.  One pizza for me, one for him. Okay, that isn’t true…Billy’s bro and wife came over too.

IMG_4518.jpg

Hey, at least I had some rabbit food on the side.

IMG_4522.JPG

I was then rewarded for getting Billy pizza by getting me Coldstone.  I got vanilla with strawberries, gummy bears and graham crackers.  I know, it is random but believe me it was good.

IMG_4523.JPG

To make things even, I rewarded Billy for the ice cream by letting him stay up till 10:30 p.m. That is a whole hour past our bed time.  Wow, I am a good wife.

We ended the night talking about our biggest goal in life.   When we are retired we just want to be permanent cruisers.  No house. Our rent/mortgage/food money will be used to pay for each cruise.

————————————————————————————-

Who’s going for a long run this weekend?

-My schedule calls for 12 (recovering from a race) followed by spin and then we will see if my muscles can handle lifting a 5 lb dumbell a few times.

What do you want to do when you are retired?

-We want to be professional cruisers and travel the world via boat with unlimited buffets.  They have running cruises were they drop you off at different locations just to RUN with other crazy runners.  Should I start organizing a blogging running cruise?

What do you get at Coldstone?

-Something different every time.  I think my favorite is the brownie mix in!

Where do you buy your clothes?

-Forever 21, H & M and window shop in Nordstroms:)

I"ve got 17 miles this morning

we've owned a home and don't want to again! We want to RV it across the US and run.

Never been to coldstone

Where do I buy clothes? Ummm I haven't in a while! Shameful I know.

A runners cruise–that sounds sooo awesome. Running in fun places & then eating delicious food. I just went shopping at Forever 21 last night & bought some cute stuff too :)

No long run for me, I still have 3 more days until my dr says I can test out a run. When I retire I am going to live near my boys and be the grandmother/mother in law that is always there doing fun stuff with the grandkids. And of course I will be the old runner lady that passes young people up and makes them feel bad because the 80 year old is kicking their behind. I dont like Coldstone. But I do like baskin robbins or DQ, and of course frozen yogurt. I tend to shop for clothes at old navy or REI.

I'm running 5 today. I ran 5 yesterday and this is still considered a longer run for me. :) I love coldstone and Forever21 since that's what there clothes make you, right? :) I also like Wet Seal and Charlotte Rousse and thrift shops for old band t-shirts. When we retire we want to live off our land and then have our kids take over the land and wipe our butts. hah!

Reply

I did 11 miles this morning. It felt awesome.

I LOVE coldstone. Just had it on Monday. I love the Cookie Doughn't You Want Some.

For clothes I shop Younker, JcPenny, and Gap. Pretty plain Jane for clothing….

Have a great weekend.

I ran 12 on Thursday! I love Coldstone. Maybe we will go today… we're going to a big city with lots of shopping (aka the Limited!) and yummy restaurants. Perhaps I can convince my partners in crime…

Oh, and I always go all chocolate. I'm a chocolate lover all the way.

Reply

Nothing wrong with a little forever 21 and little ceasers action! Sounds like a great day!

Reply

At Coldstone I get the Birthday Cake Remix… I have never tried any other combo, I am just so adventurous ;)

On Sunday I am going for a fifteen mile run followed by some yoga!

I like to get my clothes at Nordstrom's, Banana Republic, and American Eagle :)I like Forever 21 but the whole 4 washes thing is totally true!!

Reply

You are so funny! :) I loved this post! And I have a 12 mile run planned for tomorrow! I am so excited! I hope you have a great day!!

Hooray for spring shopping! I think I'm going to try to work that out today. I need a dress for an upcoming trip to Chicago at the very least!

There's a Cold Stone where we're going shopping so I might get some and sneak it into the movies. Big purse = room for ice cream :)

My favorite clothes store is Banana Republic but it's usually not in the price range. I do a lot of shopping at Target, Old Navy and the clearance rack at Ann Taylor Loft.

Reply

Yay for 5 pounders! That's all I use too.

I love Ann Taylor Loft for work clothes, Target for laying around the house clothes, and Anthropologie only when I have gift cards.

Reply

Omggggg girl Forever21 is my faveskies too! Lets go on a shopping spree forever and ever mmk.

Slash I love your reward system with Billy, it is like a circle of joyyyy:)

Double slash that is the greatest idea ever, I want to be cruising all over the world when I retire, that is absolutely genius!! Slash yes organize one pleaseee I will sign up right away!

Reply

I got to race today, my first 10k, so that was my long run for this week.
I have no idea what I would like to do when I retire but cruising definitely sounds like a lot of fun! I hope to still be racing then too. :D

Reply

Funny reward system you got! :)
I gotta run at least 10 today. Hubby's working and the kiddos are sick, so I'm stuck at home on the basement treadmill. Trying to think of a fun movie to watch while I run. Never did a long run on the 'mill, and not sure how I'll make it! ugh.

Reply

What do you do to recover from a hard race?

Reply

Just finished a hilly 10-miler this morning

Reply

I think I just read something about a running cruise thing. I need go try to find it again.

Mud pie mojo at Coldstone has everything I love. It is my kryptonite. I used to eat way too much of it. Thankfully I have regained control over my addiction.

Reply

oop not a long run for me! BUT I CAN TELL you that i have signed up for a 10k in July and a half marathon in october!!! EEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKK seeing as the farthest ive ever run is 1 hour.. ima have trouble.. WO WOO.. !

Reply

You guys are geniuses. If you don't have a house, no biggie, just get on the next cruise. And if you do need to stay home for a while, both sets of parents are relatively close!

Good rewards system, btw. : )

Reply

I cut up my nordstrom card about 12 years ago…

I rode 40 miles on a trainer bike, but really I think I'm just conducting an experiment in maintaining fitness for 6 more weeks. We shall see.

Glad you are recovering, smart girl!

I did 8 through pouring rain this morning. There's nothing like hearing your shoes squish when you step!

I think I buy most of my clothes online? Honestly, I mostly buy running clothes anymore. I did find really cute cheap stuff at Sam's Club for awhile.

I haven't been to Coldstone in a LONG time, so I don't know what my favorite is. The only solution to this is to make my husband take me there tonight.

Reply

I haven't been to coldstone in forever! Have you noticed that their smallest size has gotten a bit smaller? I am bummed! I ran almost 13 miles today in the rain – it was pretty fun!

Reply

Just started reading your blog! Yay it's cute and funny! Coincidentally my husband is also named Billy! I have never been to coldstone either so I can't say, but about a zillion years ago there was a place named Steve's in boston that did a whole mix in thing (the original steve's) I used to always get different crazy things, but I have a soft spot for the way M&M's get in ice cream all frozen and chewy. I buy way too many clothes at way too many places, but I do love forever 21! I am way too old for at least half of the clothes there though! I have a 12 planned for tomorrow!

Reply

I'll be doing 19 (hopefully) Monday morning. Usually do my long runs on Sunday, but I have to work tomorrow morning.

I HATE clothes shopping. HATE it. Just putting on the clothes I have makes me feel miserable enough, so I avoid it at all costs.

I've only been to coldstone once, and that was a while ago.

Reply

Sounds like a great night!!

I just finished 14 miles and it felt great!!

When I am retired I want to travel, travel, travel! Heck, I do it all the time now–but I want to dedicate my time to some more serious travel by spending more than a week or two in some of my bucket list places! I'd also love to downsize our house and maybe just get a Winnebago and see all of the US.

I get something different at Coldstone every time to but my favorite is vanilla with gummy bears, simple I know, but I am a serious gummy bear addict and it makes me so happy!

I buy most of my clothes at Banana, Ann Taylor Loft, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls.

I would like to register for the cruise/run retirement package. Sign me up ~2035?

Reply

I like this whole "reward your company" thing you and Billy have going on there!

Forever 21 and H&M are my go-to clothes shopping stores. I'm also really big on Kohls for deals! I dream that I can shop at Anthro, but then I wouldn't be able to afford groceries or rent. And please sign me up for your cruise. I will be a permanent resident!

Reply

i did my long run on thursday, but i've got a super hilly mountain workout for this morning! 6 miles! woohoo! i LOVE hills!

and i currently have no favorite place to shop. because nothing fits. boohoo.

When i retire? live out in the boonies with the birds and the flowers…and a cat. or dog. or both. i suppose some neighbors…

Reply

I will go on that cruise, if you organize one. (As long as it doesn't interfere with important things, like my wedding….) Haha! Let me know!

I don't know what we will do when we retire. I'll have to discuss this with Shane… I really like the cruis idea… Haha!

Reply

I've got 6 miles today…that's a long one for these thighs.

I live in a tiny town so I online shop pretty much wherever I see an advertised sale. Keeps it peppy!

I plan to retire in Hawaii at 45 (not sure how to do this) and have a commune for my kids/grandkids so they all stay close. :) Happy weekend cute girl!

Reply

I have just 4 tomorrow.

A running cruise sounds FANTASTIC….. I know in some cities they do running tours. I was looking into doing the one in Chicago with some friends :)

Reply

I am taking it easy peasy so my hip feels better, but I ran 8 relaxing miles today while listening to Ke$$$ha's "blow"!

I'm just a junior in college but I do fantasize already about retirement. I think beach house. Toes in the sand. Always warm so I can take grandma walks along the beach all day long :)

BIRTHDAY CAKE REMIX… with peanut butter added in. 'tis glorious.

Forever 21, American Eagle, Hollister, EXPRESS! (love this store), and most of my apparel comes from Dick's Sporting Goods hahah.

Have a happy Saturday, lady!

Reply

Yeah! I did 14 miles today! Furthest ever woohoo! Me and Andy went travelling around canada and usa a few years ago, and in Lake Tahoe we went to cold stone creamery (loved it) but didnt realise it was a chain until we saw one somewhere else! I love the way they throw it up in the air! We had some kind of pb chocolate combo thing I think :)
I love old navy when I come to america, and gap (only coz the outlets are packed with stuff and they have loads of the short length trousers). :)

Reply

I did my long run yesterday! 10 miles. and I'm AHEAD OF SCHEDULE in my half marathon training schedule, which feels pretty good.

I am OBSESSED with Ann Taylor Loft. I can't spend too much there (I CAN, but don't let myself) but I like getting really good staples there. like awesome pants and jackets and then getting shirts there on clearance. and it actually lasts more than four washes, which is always good! I used to spend too much money at places like Old Navy and the clothes would fall apart. I try to save my money and put it into longer lasting pieces now. …sometimes it's tough and I fall victim at Target though.

Reply

Haha good job on being so good the past few months!!!

Today I have an easy run on the schedule and I will go do it as soon as I'm done with laundry (just got home from work and I'm eating lunch!)

When we're retired, I'd like to live in a nice little cabin somewhere and hopefully spend a lot of time laying on a beach!

I actually rarely go to Coldstone but maybe I will go get ice cream tomorrow! Hmm good idea. But wherever I go, I get gummy bears.

I shop mostly at Express and H&M. Plus the sale racks at Banana Republic :)

Reply

I totally support your retired cruising life!! I would actually love to join you guys – I think you've essentially got the good life figured out :D

I mostly shop at lulu lemon. Seriously, I can't remember the last time I went shopping for non-running clothes. Thank goodness for sisters and friends of the same size :)

Reply

I love Forever 21! Who cares that I'm actually 27??

My retirement dream is to have a summer house in a cool area and a winter house in a warm area. :)

Reply

no long run this weekemd, racing tomorrow

cannot eat anything at coldstones but I used to love their banana ice cream…sooooo good.

retirement; in CANADA for sure.

There is this Alaskan cruise that has you run a marathon over the week long cruise vacation — I really want to do it :)

I love the runners cruise!!

My favorite coldstone mix is sweet cream with strawberries and peanut butter. Mmmmmmmm.

Oh I like Ross for the same reason (is it bad when clothes start to evaporate?!?!) and my mom has the eye for finding me stuff at Goodwill too. :)

Finished 20 today–and didn't feel super:) I will chalk it up to lessons learned, right.

I love your plans for retirement – count me & Billy in! Seriously, that sounds amazing. I shop all over the place, but I only buy things on sale – always! Nordstrom, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, etc. And I love lululemon. ;)

So funny! My boyfriend always calls my huge bowls of salad or veggies rabbit food. I don't blame him because sometimes I snack on full sized carrots.

Reply

I had my long run on wednesday, so it's just any distance i want this weekend.

You really are a good wife, 10:30? You're wild!!

Reply

the forever 21 at the mall by me is having a "Everything is on sale" sale. it's taking all my willpower not to buy every. single. item.

Reply

I always get cake batter with colorful sprinkles. I've never ordered anything else, is that sad?

And I am a total Targe shopper. If there was a Forever21 and H&M closer I'd shop there too!

Reply

No long run, I have to work. Boo. Also it is mardi gras here, so it's a little insane on the roads. I took a rest day today and I think I needed it; my muscles have been a tad sore.

Reply

My long run today was 6.5 miles. Definitely the farthest I have run in a long time! I also bought a garmin watch today! Can't wait to start using it!!

I researched running cruises-they look like SO MUCH FUN!!!

And, I just ate a bunch of gummi bears… 14.5 miles = I need gummi bears!! It is one of my fave yogurt/ice cream toppings!

No long run for me – I did do a 5 k with my kids. I start "real" training for a half on Monday.
I don't care what I do when I retire as long as I live near the beach. I just imaging my 60 yr old wrinkly self laying on the beach and it makes me smile.
I love J Crew and Nordstrom Rack.

Reply

I love the trade offs :)

I did my long run on Friday night (10 miles). I hope to travel a lot when I'm retired. I don't know about cruises, because I get motion sickness on boats, but I definitely want to travel. I buy most of my clothes at the outlet malls – Banana Republic and Loft are my favorite.
