Speed Day Monday: I love doing my speed day on Monday because my legs are screaming for a run after a rest day:) It was hard peeling myself out of bed though…wouldn’t that be awesome if there was a magic pill that made getting up in the morning feel good and super easy?  My dad is an inventor…I will tell him to get working on making that asap.

Today I did 13.1 miles, 1% incline  in 1:29:21…..that is 3 minutes faster than last week and I feel pretty good about it.  I guess speed training and hill workouts are helping!

photo-12.jpgphoto-13.jpg

I did mile repeats throughout the first hour of the run (anywhere between 6:10-6:45) with 800’s at a slower pace (anywhere between 7:00-7:24). For the last part I ran at a 7:01 pace….I do need to work on some negative splits though.

Call me a weirdo but I love the end of a workout where I feel like I am going to puke.  I know that I pushed myself past what I thought possible.  What should my goal be for my 1/2 marathon in 19 days?

————————————————————————————

Basically, I am obsessed with you guys and I want to give you a lil sometin sometin but we are poor so I can’t give you a treadmill or a kitchenaid…..fast forward 4 years until Billy is done with law school and my giveaways will be off the hook.

Boys, I am sorry it is super girly but you can always enter and give it to your wife/mom/gf/sister/random person on the street if you win.

IMG_4000.JPG

To Enter:

I follow you.

My favorite racing distance is probably a 10k but I think if I do more half marathons that could become my favorite, I've only done one but I really liked it. My favorite workout is probably a negative split long run, I love starting out a bit slower and then finishing hard and fast.

Reply

I am already following your blog as well as on Twitter :)

My favorite distance to run is 10km, not to far but a good little run. It is even better when the weather cooperates and it can be done outside!

Reply

I follow you. Creeper status guilty. Except I prefer the term best friends forever.

Reply

My favorite distance to run is any distance I set out to run and finish successfully, aka means I can eat all the candy and chocolates I want. Selfish? No. Smart!

Reply

I love your blog and am def a follower!!

Reply

I have to say I do love the long runs best! I did the "goofy's challenge" in disney world last month and that was 13.1 on saturday followed by 26.2 on sunday! Loved every mile of it!!!

you are SO funny and i hope billy makes sure you have the very best bday!!! My favorite distance is the half marathon, but maybe because i have yet to tackle a full… you have inspired me and i will be running utah valley in the early summer! :) thanks HRG!

Reply

I follow on GFC.

My favorite workout is strength training! I love the feeling of my muscles burning after a good workout. Shoulder exercises KILL, so I prefer squats and calf exercises. I also love the feeling of being sore – like I really WORKED.

And for good measure, my favorite candy is Good and Plenty. I loooove me some black licorice!

hola hola!

i can haz swedish fish? we can't get those in austria!

Reply

I can't pass up swedish fish, so count me in! I'm a follower via google reader and just became an 'official follower.' Favorite race distance? I fell pretty hard for multiday adventure races last summer…

Reply

I'm a follower. Well that sounds bad. I follow your blog! Favorite distance? 5K because I've gone no farther, but I'm working on that. My favorite workout other than running is spinning. It's impossible to narrow it down to one candy, because I like them all, except black licorice.

Guess who just linked back to here for your giveaway on her blog?!?! THIS GIRL!

I follow you! and HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEEK! :)

I am working on the running bit. I used to run a lot more than I do now (I once went 6 miles! haha thats the furthest I've gone and I can't wait to be there again) but for fun my fav candy …. nevermind. too hard of a question. I dont think i could narrow it down to one fav.

Reply

So I was writing my comment and accidently went to another page and it got lost in cyberspace forever. It was sad…anywho, here's a nearly same comment:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEEK! :)

I am working on the running thing. I once got to the point where I ran 6 miles and it felt awesome, but I didn't keep running like I should and now I'm working on getting to there (and more) before september (disneyland!).

I tried to think of my fav candy, but it was impossible to narrow it down. the tops include starbursts, skittles, m&ms, reeses peices, etc. depends on the mood I guess :P

Reply

and I posted all about your giveaway on my blog (so 5 people might see it :P ) but hey. baby steps, right? :D

My favorite workout is the body works class at my gym. I love feeling it in every part of my body when I leave, especially when I have time to do some cardio beforehand to get the HR up.

Happy birthday week!!

Of course I follow your blog (now publicly). I really enjoy running despite my injuries. The weather was so beautiful on Friday evening that I raced home from worked, jumped into my workout clothes and hit some trails around my house. I loved every second of it! Swedish Fish is one of my absolute faves, I especially love mixing them with Sour Patch Kids!!

Hey, I also just mentioned the giveaway on my blog!!! yay! :)

My favorite distance to run is the 10k. A 5k simply isn't long enough, and it is at about the 10k point during a half-marathon that I feel like dying! It is also my favorite in that the last 10k of my marathon was definitely the hardest, but most rewarding, of my entire life!

Reply

sweedish fish are yummy! Not sure what my favorite distance is yet. I need to try some of the longer ones out first :)

Reply

You know Im a follower and I love giveaways. My favorite distance to run is 4 miles. I ran it yesterday and felt sooo good. When I don't feel like running, my favorite workout is INSANITY…but it has to be in a big group like we do in the mornings on a big projector with loud speakers and people screaming….sweat pouring down. love that! Oh and Happy Birthweek!

Reply

'm a new "official" follower but I've been blog stalking you for weeks. Love your humor and constant positive attitude!

My favorite distance to run is 6 miles because I can get it in quickly but still feel like I got some solid cardio.

My favorite workout other than running are my p90x videos…..SO hard but fun.

Just one type of candy?? Impossible. I am extremely fond of chocolate covered raisins though.

Reply

My most favorite distance is the half marathon!!

Reply

My favorite distance is 10 miles. I've done a few 10 miles races and loved them all! Fav candy= reese's peanut butter cups! :)

Reply

I'm now a follower! :)

Favorite workout might be my favorite and least favorite at the same time – running hills at a sprint. It kills and you want to die, but afterward you feel so good! I love all candy, but I'd say some top faves are swedish fish, sour patch kids and watermelon, and m&ms. AND all gummies by Haribo, bc those are amazing.

Favorite distance: 8 miles. Enough where I'm still functional for most of the day, long enough where people are still crazy impressed with it. :) Jelly Belly Beans are my favorite candy, too. :)

And I love swedish fish, but you already knew that!

My favorite workout in the whole world is Zumba at my local Y when this woman Jenny teaches it. She turns off the lights and has a little disco ball and turns up the music really loud so that it feels like a total party. I always leave a total sweaty beast too.

Also twinner sunglasses with you actually sounds like the greatest present ever. Such fun! :D

I subscribe! My favorite distance is 5K because I'm a little lazy. Also, for us slow runners any other distance takes well over an hour.

Im pregnant and just cant run anymore :( Im jealous of how much you run. People say " just dont stop running when you get pregnant"… but everythings so exhausting!! I stopped, and now I cant start again :( 20 more weeks to go!! Do you think you will run throughout a pregnancy when you have children?

Reply

if you mean follow on twitter, done and done :)

fave distance is probably 9 miles…pushes me far, i feel wiped out, but not so horrendous i cant move. on the treadmill, i really like pyramids, where i increase the speed every 2 min, then back down, back up again…makes the time fly by, and adds on the miles quickly.

i have no chance at winning this, but your blog is the best! happy bday week.
