I know you are distracted by the smiley face of sweat on my shirt or the fact that my socks are mismatched or maybe because the shade of my face is a completely different than the rest of my body….but, I am holding a bowl of ice.
That’s right I love me some ice bath. Best way to prevent injuries in help those muscles recover.
I ran 15 miles this morning on the treadmill…..it was still raining this morning but it is now finally cleared up. Then I took an ice bath. 15 minutes.
1% incline 2:02. The second half of my run, a 65 year old man got on the treadmill next to me and starting asking why I was running so long. I told him about Boston and he said that is what he thought and that he was going this April too. He just ran St. George two months ago in 3:20!! I want to be like that when I am 65!
He was so sweet and we talked for an hour while running about Boston, training and our love for running. The time flew by.
I came home to breakfast made for me by none other than the husband of the year. He even took these pictures and photoshopped them together.
I am beginning to get suspicious, he is being too perfect.
Nothing has ever tasted so good after a long run.
Breakfast burrito with a fruit bowl on the side (with yogurt, some pb and grape nuts sprinkled on top).
I used to not be able to eat for hours after a long run because I would feel nauseated but I think my stomach has gotten used to it and I could eat a whole pie the second I finish running.
Can you eat after you exercise or after a long run?
-Hand over the krispy kremes.
Do you ice or take ice baths?
-I get excited for them now because I know how much good they do.
What are you doing today? Only two more days till Christmas!!
