To myself and to all of you.

I said I was only going to run on Tuesdays and Thursdays but…..

I have a little extra stress, no worries life is still extra awesome, and the best way I know how to deal with stress is running…or eating a quart of Ben and Jerry’s.

I thought Billy would find it strange if I went to the grocery store this morning at 5 a.m, came home and sat on the couch and ate Phish Food while watching ‘Mean Girls’ to deal with my stress. I went to the gym instead.

Since I am being honest and everything…..I think an extra lick or two of frosting might occur later.IMG_1850.JPG

Workout:

3 Mile Treadmill: 1.5% incline 7:47 pace

50 Minute Spin class…..my ponytail was dripping with sweat.

3 Mile Treadmill: 1% incline 7:30 pace

Stress melted away until I had to deal with the situation later on.

So what do I do……I went for a 3-miler outside after school in the beautiful 46 degree weather.  Go Utah.

Thanks Colleen for my running socks….I LOVE them:)

Now I will be catching up on all of YOUR blogs, my other favorite way to deal with stress.

IMG_0113.JPG

(Sorry Billy I had to post this picture….I needed a laugh:)

What are your top 5 ways to deal with stress??

1. Running or exercise in general

2. Ice cream (I know that isn’t the best way to cope but you gotta do what you gotta do)

3.  Calling my mom and venting to her for an hour.

4.  Blogging obviously.

5.  A foot massage from Billy while he spoon feeds me ice cream while watching ‘Mean Girls.’  (Honey, this is a hint by the way)   Oh, wait I just remembered it is HIS finals week.  I guess I will give him a foot massage after I get mine but I don’t know if I can share my Phish Food…..that’s a little too much selflessness for one day.

A run is a perfect stress-reliever, but I am also a big fan of venting to family and friends. Of course, that may be creating stress for them. Haha! But they always listen :)

I deal with stress by working out or eating. LOL.

man…i've been going through some super crazy stress at work too. usually i run or exercise, but today (being a snow day) has left me with ZERO motivation. funny how i always treat snow days as though they are days off from my entire schedule, not just school

i always call my mom too. ben and jerry's cherry garcia. eating honey and peanut butter off a spoon.

Definitely running or yoga! Lots of chocolate and hugging my boyfriend. I am major stressed for my exam tomorrow, but peanut butter chocolate bars are helping!

Wine.
Running.
Talking to people.
Hot bath. With wine. But no people.

Reply

Hot shower.
Yoga.
Beer.
Pizza.

Actually, that sounds like my perfect night.

Working out and reading a magazine where I don't have to think and definitely venting to my mom! I'm grumpy today though because it was a snow day and I never ended up working out, and I really needed it after the weekend!

Dealing with "the situation"? Hopefully this is not some Jersey Shore reference?? Hahaha… I know it's not, but I thought maybe it would provide a laugh. I first read that and that was the first thing I thought… Damn you, Jersey Shore…

First I don't wear socks but I LOVE LOVE your socks!! Running, exercising period is my drug of choice for stress.

oh yes, running, HOT yoga, wine, and maybe some good interval sessions. I think sweating helps with stress, haha. Oh and prayer, big time prayer!

Hope everything is ok with you!

I deal with stress by running, cuddling with my pup, cuddling with my husband, baking, or reading.

I said I would run every other day and so far I have done it but I may break that soon to accommodate traveling for Christmas. My top way to deal with stress is to exercise. If i have a stress headache I go to yoga or the gym and I feel better after wards! It works like a charm!

Doing triples already?! Wowzers!

Those socks are RAD :)

Running is definitely a preferred stress reliever, but there are some other good ones. One you should be married for! =D

I also deal with stress by exploding…
and I used to resort to red wine- not anymore, though.
Researching running stuff.
Reading my Bible and praying.

I'm sorry you're feeling stressed -it's a horrible feeling! To destressify my life, I:

1. Run
2. Cook/Bake for hours
3. Write
4. Cry
5. Shop

Have a great night!

I love frosting out of the container too, preferably butter cream, but a vanilla frosting will do too.

Hope 'the situation' is resolved before work tomorrow, whatever it is. Working in a school is full of fun 'situations.'

I like to run, but if I'm really stressed from work, I have to try really hard not to think about work while running or it doesn't help!

Probably some kind of unhealthy stress related eating! That might be when I'm inclined to grab some sour patch kids or some reese's pb cups while at the store. and eat half of them. or swing through a drive thru for something like french fries :) But I try not to do that!

Venting is another good one, though usually to my hubby or my coworkers, depending on the stressor.

love the pink running outfit! way cute :)

You are nutty!! Just be careful to not re-injure yourself girlie.

I love a good workout, a bubble bath, baking, cleaning the entire house with a toothbrush and bleach, or going and getting a quarter pounder with cheese and french fries {yes, I am gross}. You know it's a rough day when I do all of the above, ha!

You are so great :) Love how you ran 3 separate runs…Hope everything went okay with what was stressing you out!

4 of our top 5 ways to deal with stress are the same!

P.S. AWESOME SOCKS.

I'm sorry you are stressed. I agree that a little exercise can really help change your outlook on a situation. Sleep also is one way I deal with stress. It is so much easier to manage through rough times when you are well rested.

2. Sleeping!
3. Reading
4. Shower/bath (Not much beats sitting in the shower, with the hot water pouring over you; however, this is often rudely interrupted by running out of hot water).
5. Talking to a good friend of mine.

And I have to say, I am jealous of your energy and amazing speed!

Those socks are great!!! I wish I had them :)

Sorry to hear you're stressed :( Hope things get better!

Reply

I totally forgive you for lying… that's a pretty tough promise to keep! Running/working out tops my list of stress relief too. Hope you're feeling less stressed and you got to partake in #5.

Reply

Oh…I need those pink socks and the pink shirt – LOVE THEM!!!!

The biggest de-stress for me is a run…and if a run turns stressful, then a bubble bath with a protein smoothie on the side!!!

Reply

I seriously have to get some better running clothes. Yours look comfy!

My stress reliever is to read a book, have a glass of wine, and vent to my man until I run out of breath. If I had a working treadmill in my basement, I would probably jump on it and run fast until I was worn out. Having a punching bag would be good, too.

Reply

I never work out when I'm stressed…we'll except for the muscles used to lift a fork to my mouth. I also veg on TV, sit in my PJs and avoid brushing my teeth the entire day. Fun, huh?

De-stressors:
1. talk to my very understanding (usually) hubby
2. watch a good movie
3. clean my garage
4. run
5. hang out with my baby (who loves the foam roller … lol… see my blog for the video!)

I think pink socks would help me de-stress, too ;-)

"Do you wanna do something fun? Wanna go to Taco Bell?"
"I can't go to Taco Bell. I'm on an all-carb diet!"

Ummm, it hurts my knees just to THINK about running as fast as you… I would probably have to use the ice cream to heal them afterwards, rather than feed myself! Feel better!

So I love when one blog leads to another blog and then leads to one like YOURS!!! I absolutely love your blog and have already spent many hours planning how I can be healthy like you. Thanks for all your great ideas…I really want to find a great spin class now, and I actually ate a whole bowl of veggies for din din tonight. Yay me! :) Thanks for the cutest blog ever! Love it!!

Man, I'm such a sucker for your lists…

Dealing with stress?

(1) Running (hard or long or both!)

(2) Coffee (tea/dessert/a drink) with friends

(3) Movie theaters

(4) Bookstores

(5) Laughing with Brent (we can usually de-stress each other at least a little bit)

By the way – judging from the comments and emails I got from a few friends, I think you may be the only person who actually got the itch that I was talking about in yesterday's post :)

Sometimes I like to run and be alone for the best stress relief … and sometimes I like to work through it in a group exercise situation. And, I always like a glass or two of therapy.

Stress relievers: Running, venting to a willing party, writing, playing music super duper loud and shopping!!!!!!!

HAH! THAT is how you are so slender! 9 mile run and 50 min spin… it would take me foreeeever. This morning I did 30 min bootcamp and 30 min spin (50/50 class), and the owner of the training room offered to pace me during my marathon! SUCCESS.

When I'm stressed?
I run.
I bake (and then try to give away everything I just baked).
I watch hilarious television shows (Daily Show, Real Housewives of Atlanta = HILAR)
I watch terrible drama television shows that remind me my life is awesome (HOARDERS and Intervention… ughhhh)

The socks look great! :)

I'm horrible with stress… I usually eat, but then feel guilty and exercise. Wine is sometimes involved too…

Reply

wow! you are an exercise phenomenon! :) what are your thoughts on the BMI?

Reply

1)Watch Friends
2)Read Blogs
3)Go running or hiking
4)Dinner and a movie with my bf
5)A good movie on, cuddling in my pink blanket on the couch.

I get stressed out over little things, I hate that.
To relieve it:
1) running
2) other cardio
3) call my mom
4) whine to Dan
5) call BFF

I'm not really a stress eater, thank goodness!

I have a picture of my 5 year old with a tortilla just like that! To get over stress I run, cry to my husband, and watch mindless tv.

Reply

Oh man I want those running socks! And you are a BEAST for running so many times in one day. To get over stress I: bike (easier for me to beat out my issues this way than running), play with my dog, or talk to my fiance about what we want in a house someday.
