Sorry, I didn’t feel like calling it brunch.

I have been feeling like breakfast foods at all times of day….

Something is wrong with me, I still haven’t craved pizza, that is a record.

Maybe I am prego.

Ha, there is no way…don’t worry mom.  It is still a long ways off until I have kids to loose (Every time I take my students on field trips I end up losing one and sometimes two).

French toast with warm pear slices and maple syrup

Those pears are from Costco and have been sitting on the counter since last Saturday.  They taste like candy now. Patience is a virtue.

Workout:

45 Minutes Elliptical.  One minute low level (9), sprint.  One minute high level (17). Repeat.

45 Minutes of teaching spin.  Can I just tell you I love my spinees.  They are hardcore.

10 Minutes Foam-rolling

15 Minutes Lifting (upper body)

0 minutes Abs….I am having a hard timing getting myself to do any core work.

Off to go hang out at the Borders with Billster….love reading books and magazines for free.  I don’t know if you have realized this yet but we are as cheap as they come.

Do you enjoy doing ab work?

-Nope, but I know I need to do it.

What book are you reading right now?

-Do food/fitness blogs count….if they do I spend hours everyday doing that.

mmmm I love pears!!

I go through phases of liking ab work…not so much at the moment.

I'm reading a book called "Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro…it's really good! I like libraries because they're free!

I actually love doing ab work. Planks are killer, but I am addicted to them. I really want to try spinning classes this winter, can you come to VT and teach a few classes?!

The gym I go to doesn't have Spin. Bummer.I do core work sometimes but obviously not near enough.
I just finished reading Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. Off to find another good read…

that french toast looks sooo yummy with the syrup pooling around the edge. so tasty!

i don't really do much ab work on its own, mainly because shaun t is BIG into using the abs for pretty much everything we do…and jazzercise is all about the core. if i had to come up with stuff on my own, i'm pretty sure i'd never do it…

Do I enjoy ab work??? Um after having 5 kids NO!!!!!!! LOL!! I need a good book idea.

My least favorite workout would be anything that has to do with the abs!!!!!!! Blegh!!!! Breakfast is the most important meal, and therefore it is ok to eat breakfast-y foods whenever you want. The same rule applies to chocolate…..especially the thin mints I made today! =D

I never do abs. Running keeps my abs pretty cut (like from marble ;)).

I'm still reading sense and sensibility, but I'm almost done, it's been like two months!

oh heavenly! We eat eggs for dinner ALL THE TIME!! Love it. And guess what, some of our favorite date nights usually end up at Barnes and Noble with coffee and magazines/books. :)

YUM. That looks delish! I am still mad I missed this morning…hopefully I get over that soon. My saturday workout just wasn't the same.

Urgh, AB WORK. I hate it! Yoga keeps my abs up to scratch without having to do a trillion crunches thank god!
I'm reading 'In Defence of Food'. Really slowly…mainly because I spend much more time reading blogs! (It totally counts!) :P

Im reading Hal Higdons Marathon training book.. but I forget the actual name of it haha :)

And Im reading the Ensign.

I usually don't enjoy doing ab work but I do enjoy the burn the next day.
Yes, I'm reading blogs and blogging. That counts as reading and writing, right?
Now I want french toast for lunch.

I like perusing the magazine section at Borders with a nice warm coffee beverage!

Ab work… I don't mind it. because I need it. I only have ab. not abs. It would be nice to have abs, but that might be ambitious and may mean having to cut out things like beer and ice cream. I like doing crunches and variations on crunches until I am so sore I lack the coordination to do the bicycle crunch. Maybe that's why I went back for my 2nd class of bootcamp this week.

Books: I'm 100 pages into reading House Rules by Jodi Picoult. Problem is, I don't leave much time for reading during the day so that means I usually read 5 pg at a time before bed until the book falls on my face and my husband tells me to turn off my light. haha.

I take a core class on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It's 30 minutes non-stop, intense. It's awesome and my core is REALLY benefiting from it. My gym also offers two one hour classes on Monday and Friday mornings at 5:30, which I will start taking once the heat in my car is replaced. I can't wait! I used to hate core work (I remember back in high school gym class doing floor crunches, straining my neck and not being able to breathe, ha!). Now core moves make me feel so strong. And, my core IS strong, a lot stronger than it has ever been before. Once you work on your core's strength, and also make it routine (3x or more a week) it becomes easier. :)

I, too, am a breakfast fiend. The french toast with pears looks AWESOME!

Great blog!

My abs are the part that need the most work, but for some reason I am the least motivated to do it? Perhaps it is because I always save it for the last part of my work out…

I recently started Portia de Rossi's book, "Unbearable Lightness," about her struggle with anorexia. Interesting so far, but definitely not a "feel good" read. I'm simultaneously reading "The Hunger Games" trilogy. It's unlike anything I've ever read, but it's impossible to put down. And a million blogs a day, duh.

I LOVE pears. I love that you eat real food. Hand over the bread with pears and sweet goodness ;-)

I am reading "Sarah's Key". I haven't read a book in years. A coworker brought me 2 books, because I kept SAYING I was going to start reading again and didn't.
I never read my darn magazines, in fact, I am going to pack them now for the cardio cross session on Monday. I used to take them to work and read during lunch, but now I always read my google reader instead…oops!

Abs are actually my favorite..this is why:
1) I usually save them for the end of my workout therefore, I know it is almost over
2) I get to do many of the abs exercises sitting down or laying down and I love to lay down.
3) I don't think they are particularly that challenging to do. Abs are like doing the dishes, not that hard, but if you want them cleaned, you have to wash them.

I am reading 3 different books right now: born to run, committed, and those who save us. I have book ADD and cannot read one straight through. I love core work, I have no idea why. I hate doing arms but desperately need to.

Ooooo… AB work! Right! Thinking I might want to start a little o' that before the New Year! Thanks for the reminder ;-)

Book… other than Hop on Pop and the like, I last read a book in 2009… Water for Elephants. I miss reading.

I would love to hang out in Border's – unfortunately, the Husband would not go for that. I love reading.. I usually read every night before bed.. or if I do the elliptical. I'm currently reading "The Myth of You and Me" which is about two best friends.. it's really good. I just finished "Little Bee" (horribly depressing, but so so good). I'm also a sucker for Beverly Lewis novels.. gotta love a good Amish story.

I once announced on my blog that I'd broken my tailbone in a mountain biking fall before I told my mom. She wasn't so happy about that :)

Ab work? What is that? Bahaha.

I'm reading a book called "Something Borrowed" because I heard the movie version comes out soon and it's starring Kate Hudson and there is no movie I love more than "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" and I'm HOPING it'll be just as good, if not better. How's THAT for a run-on sentence… good thing you don't give grades on comments!

I think I need to go find a pear…

I'm reading Dante's Alighieri's "Inferno". It's all about HELL. Aw, I just wanted to say hell without it being a curse word :) And it felt goooood!

I do not enjoy ab work. I hardly ever do it.
I am reading Abigail Adams but Woody Holton right now, besides old Runner's World mags. The book for my book club. I am having trouble getting through it – I think I am on page 10.

I hate core work, but like you I do it, I learned its not as painful to do it while watching tv at night compared to right after a workout were you are already tired and sore.

Reply

I like doing abs, but mostly because that is one of my needed areas to work on! :) And right now I am reading the new John Grisham, The Confession. It's soooo nice to be on break from school because I can actually read books and not law books…
