I think that you and I can agree that new running clothes makes it really easy to get out the door and start our workout. Also, the brighter the piece of clothing the more exciting in my opinion.
I made Megan pause the stair climber to take a picture of me. Talk about a good friend.
I’ve been wanting a SUPER lightweight tank for my treadmill runs to prevent overheating (especially when I am doing a speed workout). This one is kind of sheer, super soft and extra breezy. I adore tanks that aren’t skin tight but still kind of fitted and plenty long enough.
I have a feeling I will want this in every color for summer running—> I’m hoping those runs roll around really quickly.
I finally got to do the 1k workout that I posted last week from Hansons:
Weirdly, I really liked this workout. I don’t know why but I’m just going to go with it and be excited that I am looking forward to speed work again. 1k = .62 miles and for the intervals I was anywhere between a 9.8-10.3 mph on the treadmill.
Who knows if doing this workout on the treadmill is easier or not than doing it outside on the roads but I was happy with my splits and my hard rate was in the 170s-180s. For the next little while I really want to focus more on effort than times anyways. Because I am not really training for a specific race I am not very concerned with times but I do want to push myself and get stronger so effort is where it is at.
I had a lunch date later on and went with some chicken and waffles at Station 22. For years and years I rarely ordered anything besides salads (I really love them but was never adventurous) and lately I’ve been trying more and more random things. It was delicious and I will probably want it again really soon.
For the rest of the day it was either raining or snowing.
She always makes the best of whatever the weather is.
We went to Brooke’s favorite gym for her workout of running around and climbing up the slides. One of my New Year’s Resolutions was less scrolling and more reading and I just recently added more journal writing too. I used to always be a journal person (ummmmmm maybe that is why I record our entire life on the internet?) and so it is fun to get back into it again.
The evening was spent with our favorite crew of girls. Brooke sure has a lot of aunts.
And then I started this book and I can’t put it down. Who needs sleep when you’ve got a good book instead?
And somehow Spikey (remember when she used to weigh 7 lbs, have crazy spikey hair and sleep 80% of the day) is now spelling her name?!
Ever been much of a journal writing person?
Do you branch out when it comes to ordering food at a restaurant or do you stick to what you know you will like?
What do you look for in a running tank? Do you like the built in sports bras? Where do you usually go for a good workout tank?
Do you pay more attention to pace for your workouts or effort?
