The OCD runner in me loves this and the best time of the day.

The absolute best time of the day—>  when Brooke first wakes up in the morning and just wants to cuddle for a bit.

I was stoked today because my spin boss came to take my class this morning.  If you live in the area and take spin classes then you know Rona.  Everybody loves her classes and she is so entertaining.  She convinced me in the first place to become a spin teacher 8 years ago.  I used to take every one of her classes and she told me one day that I just needed to start teaching… so I did.  I’ve loved it ever since.  Also, on the schedule today was an easy 4 mile run @ an 8:05 pace.

PS I bought the above green tank after I fell in love with my first one (in orange). These tanks are so ridiculously light, you barely notice you are wearing it which is perfect for summer running.

My three favorite eats from today:

-A bunch of shredded chicken, avocado and poppyseed dressing (random but delicious).

IMG 2862

-Cottage cheese and grapes.  It is amazing how many people have doubted the amazingness of this combination.  Once they actually try it they email me about how much they love it so long story short, just trust me.

With recipes like this I will probably be the next Pioneer Woman.

-It is a friend’s birthday today and I told her we could go anywhere to celebrate.  She chose Swig for drinks and cookies and I would never say no to a birthday request like that.

I’m babysitting my little nephew today so we hung out in the shade while Brooke played in the kiddie pool.

I wanted to show you how detailed my coach is with my workouts.  The OCD runner inside of me gets giddy whenever I open up Training Peaks to see my workouts.

Tonight we are going to Strawberry Days which is a big carnival that goes down in a town near us.

This will be Brooke’s second year going to Strawberry Days.  Her first time there was when I was pregnant with her.  This picture gave me a flashback to how awful it is to be pregnant through a really hot summer.  I am pretty sure I lived in the pool during the day that entire summer.

Oh my goodness- I WANT THAT TRAINING PLAN. How convenient to check off every thing in such an organized fashion…. OCD jealousy. I got my workout done conveniently at lunch today, so who knows what the evening holds!

OMG- I use trainingpeaks too and LOVE it! (And I will say I’ve definitely pushed through a hard workout when I wanted to stop early, because I want them all to be green! (hardly ever happens) haha!!)
And taking one of your spin classes has been on my bucket list since I started following your blog years ago! It will happen and I will totally be one of the fangirls asking for a picture!! ;)

I’m painting tonite, the 5th night in a row! Hating it.

I track my workouts in an excel spreadsheet that I made. Total geek here, cant help it, I love excel! ;)

I’m going to trail run/mixer with friends tonight!
I keep a training journal to track my workouts.
Good eats: I baked biscoff cookies for tonight’s mixer!!!
Love your green tank!

Tonight I’m actually going to spin class. I would love to be a spin instructor one day!

I track my workouts with my training notebook.

I had the BEST sandwich today for lunch!

-No plans for tonight: I see my DVR could use some attention though :)
-I follow a training plan that I can cross of the days run when it’s over. I love the “checked off” satisfaction!!
-No good eats today do to the fact that tomorrow is grocery day and we are getting dangerously low on good eats!
Happy Thursday!

I love your training plan posts, they’ve motivated me to actually want to train for something again! The first half of this year was kind of nuts and not a lot of good running was happening, I was either injured or distracted with wedding planning. Now that the stress of that is over, and I’m healed up, I’m finally motivated again! I’m sticking to a fall half though, it’s my favorite distance, and I am shooting for a big PR!

I’ve been eating a ton of grapes lately, but I’ve never had them with cottage cheese… maybe I’ll give it a shot! ;)

About to go have Turkey Burgers with my parents and I am pretty darn excited about it. Parents make really good best friends in your 20s….I’m trying to brain wash them to move with me to Seattle.

I neeeeed a shirt that is so thin I don’t feel it!!!! And then someone to do my wash every day so I can wear it every morning :)

I’m getting in some strength training tonight and then curling up with a good book!
I keep a training journal to track my workouts. Hand writing them out is so oddly satisfying.
Good eats: bbq golden sweet potato and roasted chickpea salad.
Your nephew is so precious!

Thursday night plans…work. Today is my long day at work! My uncle from NY is in town though, so I get to spend time with him tomorrow!

I had a giant bowl of berries. It was delicious!

I was a bellydance teacher for years. I started the classes for women to get them moving. What they really got was lots and lots of confidence. It was so rewarding to see the transformation.

I see Brooke is still wearing that dress and clinging to her beloved pink blanket! Sweet girl!

Its Thursday night and I am going out for dinner and drinks with my best friend. If that wasn’t the plan then I would order pizza and curl up with a book. I live an exciting life!! :)

Your training plan looks awesome! I love Training Peaks!!
Your nephew is so, so adorable – those baby toes!!
I made an amazing sandwich for lunch today: grilled chicken on whole wheat with cheese and avocado. YUM.

My Thursday night plans will involve working my second job, which I am not looking forward to :/

I’m just getting back into track workouts and building back up to speed. It’s a process, that’s for sure!

I have been eating a lot of chicken/avocado combos lately and loving every single one. I love to put a tad of Ragu Alfredo sauce on there and some Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce. It sounds like a weird mix, but it’s good!

My evening plans involve double header softball from 8:30-10:30. I’m tired already (at 2:30) so I kind of want to cry.

I blog about my workouts, and all of my running is in Nike+ somewhere stored up.

Zero good eats, though I’ve been emotionally eating my office neighbor’s bite sized candy bars.

Reply

Oh man, that cookie is calling my name!

My Thursday plans are a low-key dinner at home and hopefully a nice after dinner walk and maybe possibly an ice cream cone?! Dream big I say.

I track my workouts on Garmin Connect but also locally on a spreadsheet. I am really OCD w/ tracking.

Best thing I had today was a dairy free (homemade) chocolate shake. I had a tooth extraction so it tasted good and felt even better on my sore mouth.

That schedule is a thing of beauty! I yearn to have a schedule like that some day. And I aspire to be able to do the training you do. So inspiring. Slowly on my way but nagging injuries have made me paranoid about any ache or pain I have. I feel like I no longer can trust me body and can’t distinguish between a minor ache or something bigger that’s going to lead to an injury. I hate it! Any advice?

Reply

I’ve taken a class from Rona! It was pretty intense. I haven’t done mug cycling much though.

Reply

I don’t really enjoy hot weather. I can’t imagine what it must be like to be pregnant in the heat of summer.

Reply

I too started teaching after an instructor I liked pushed me to start myself! Having great instructors in fitness classes is what pushed me to finally take the leap and get certified myself.

Reply

One of my teammates designed our program. I just write in my calendar what I did on a given day and then check it off on the program chart. Totally UNsophisticated. Tonight I think I’ll pass out on the sofa with my hands and face deep in bowls of chips and guacamole. I’m tired. I’ve been training hard. Lol

Reply

I used to LOVE cottage cheese. I have issues with dairy now (no allergies or anything but my system, um, gets a little messed up. I don’t know, is it age??). anyway… haven’t had cottage cheese in FOREVER but now must have some :) I used to love it on Ritz crackers. best combo ever.

Reply

Mmm cottage cheese. I cannot get enough grapes right now. I think it must be the pregnancy cravings :) Give me all the grapes!!

Reply

I don’t have any plans tonight. I was out last night (I just started home when I’d usully be in bed), so I’ll be catching up on sleep tonight.

Reply

I became a spin instructor almost 8 years ago because I was there for a class and the instructor was a no-show, so I volunteered to “teach” and the rest is history! lol
My plans tonight are to hang out with my friend and her little girl in their in-ground pool :)

Cuddles are the best. Take them whenever you can.

I can’t believe how much bigger your nephew has gotten already. He doesn’t look like a newborn anymore.

I don’t track my workouts. I am a lazy fool like that.

Neighborhood BBQ tonight. We had one Tuesday night. And I had baking club last night. This is why I suck at not eating treats right now. The more options there are at these gatherings, the more I eat. I have to TRY all of them. It is basic math really.

That training plan is intense. But you will kill it and crush your goal this October. Crush. It,

I want that swig cookie. NOW. #WhyIsItNotMyBirthday

I’ve always wanted to be a spin instructor. How did you get certified, etc.?

Strawberry Days sounds so fun! And oh that first picture of Brooke! She looks so cute!

Reply

I got that green tank top after you had recommended the orange one and I love it! :) I guess I need to try the grapes and cottage cheese combo next!

Reply

haha, I do love cottage cheese + grapes thanks to you!!

Thursday night plans: bought to hop on my spin bike for some interval training, then trying out a steakhouse thanks to Groupon!

I track my workouts best I can in my planner (I use an actual planner, not my phone- hah!) and/or on my blog… some good accountability there!

Reply

-I’m actually on the road to becoming a BodyPump instructor right now :) I wanted to start teaching so that I could share my love of fitness and hopefully inspire others to become fit and active!
-Tonight I’m going to finish up learning my BodyPump tracks so I can practice tomorrow for my video assessment!
-I don’t usually track my workouts, but when I do I write them down in a journal!
-I tried some cinnamon raisin ezekiel bread with my breakfast and holy deliciousness.

Reply

I’m so glad that I wasn’t pregnant during the summer.! you look cute all prego :)
My good eat for today was a white chocolate Frappuccino. haha, does that count.?

your training plan looks awesome.!!

Reply

Cinnamon raisin toast this morning was the best!
Tonight we are having steak, so their might be a rival.

I like having things written with COMPLETE descriptions underneath. I love details, so I go crazy when there are no instructions haha! I’m the type of person who reads the entire manual of electronics.

Reply

I’ll have to try that chicken, avocado, and poppyseed dressing combo. Sounds like something I’d totally love! And I have yet to try the grapes + cottage cheese, but I’m pretty sure I’d love that too.

Yeah, I’m pregnant right now and it’s been 110-115 this week in Gilbert!!! I’m already sick of it and we’re already a week into it… Ahhhhh! I’m going to be living under my ceiling fan and in my pool.

Thursday night plans = be lazy. It’s been a long day and all I feel like doing is lounging and indulging in Netflix.

I use Training Peaks and Strava to schedule and track my fitness. I know that exact feeling of opening Training Peaks and seeing a full schedule laid out. I also find joy in seeing those colorful squares light up when a workout is complete.

I know what you mean about pregnancy during the hot summer months. I still have three months to go and am thanking my lucky stars for AC and cold pools.

Reply

Whoa! That shredded chicken thing look awesome!

The weather is yucky here, so I’m being lazy tonight. I do hope it clears up enough so I can make it to the gym. And, the tastiest thing I had all day was a greek salad with a side of fruit. Yum!

Reply

I had a delicious cotton candy Italian ice…95 degrees called for it today! And I keep track of my runs in a little black book!

Reply

i track my workouts on garmin connect, and also plan out my workouts using good ol’ gmail calendar. :)

“the next Pioneer Woman” had me cracking up for a long time! I went to Capo Gelateria in SLC for the first time today. It was pretty good. I’m not sure how good yet, I’ll probably need to try it again to have a real opinion about it. :)

Reply

I went running with my marathon group tonight. I use Map My Run but now I’m thinking I really need to check out training peaks.

I’m a fan of your cottage cheese/grape combo, go Pioneer Woman!!

My very first instructor is what made me fall in love with fitness classes and want to be an instructor myself…that was 20 years ago!!! At almost 60, he still teaches! LOVE him.

Thursday nights are field hockey for me! :)

Reply

Cottage and grapes…. I guess I will have too trust you!! I’m not sure about that one!

I wore a tank similar to that today on an hour-long run. Just so you know (because I didn’t, even though I definitely should have by now!) that is NOT the right choice in the tropics. It would be perfect for a very dry and hot summer day, but definitely not in areas of high humidity. The effect of so much perspiration on such thin fabric is that, with that extra weight, gravity was determined to pull it straight to the ground, well below my shorts. Yeegads.

You must be such an awesome spin instructor, with your high energy and fun music!
