Somewhat Silent Saturday

I think I am finally fully recovered from my marathon.  I had my first ‘I feel really really really good’ run in a long time.  11 miles @ 7:18 pace.  Let the St. George Marathon training begin!

CLEARLY that was a “make your own fortune” fortune cookie. The best kind! ;)

Best concert I’ve been to was probably Weezer. Loved it! I really want to go see Pentatonix though!

Last run was not so great, but thankfully that doesn’t last, so hoping when I run after work today it’ll be much better!

On tap today – work, run, do some cleaning around the house, then watch some Gilmore Girls or maybe go see Aloha! Have a great Saturday! :)

My last run was 10.4 miles this morning and it was fine, not my best but far from my worst! I feel like my fitness isn’t there yet and I’m excited to start marathon training and getting in longer runs again.

Just ran 6 miles, I’d give it a 7 on a scale of 1-10 only because its really, really hot and humid.

And now….I’m headed out to sea on the boat to catch some fish! The pool time.

gotta love Florida!

Have a great weekend. :)

I love concerts. The best one I’ve been too was probably Death Cab for Cutie. They were amazing live.
Today I am working, but first I’m going to go out for a run right now. Hopefully it will be just as good as yours.! Not that fast or long thought. Lol

My last run felt great!! Easy 3 miles before my half and my legs are feeling really good. Heading up to the expo soon and staying at a hotel nearby. Have a great weekend!

Thursday I took my son (2 yrs old and daughter 1 month) out running in our double stroller for the first time. 6 miles didn’t feel so bad even in our hilly area so 8-10.

Heading out for my run in a bit (distance to be determined as I am just getting back in training mode after a few weeks off from having baby girl)

Have a great day!

The killers. It was so fun!

My last run felt like crap but hopefully my next one will be awesome.

Hiking in Zion today. So much fun.

We went to Piano Guys in London and it was an AWESOME show! I prefer the theatricals of stage shows– we saw Lion King, Matilda and Wicked (twice!) during our last month in England!

Celebrating my daughter’s birthday today with a big beach party!
Any concert at the Hollywood Bowl is always awesome.
5 more weeks till I can run again – woo hoo!!!

Last run = 8. I haven’t been able to run much since hitting 20 weeks, but (at 26.5 weeks) I was able to run/walk a good 2 miles yesterday. A far cry from what I used to do but I’m happy!

Today is a golf tournament in honor of my late brother in law, followed by my nephew’s baseball games. Best concert ever was Roger Waters “The Wall” which we ended up seeing 2 times. Just amazing. My run yesterday was GREAT. 6 miles and I had my fastest mile + fastest 5K. I was happy!

Rest day today after yesterday’s deadlift PR. I’m driving 2 hours for a family event so I’m wishing I had better true compression tights. I’ll be wearing compression sleeves but my poor thighs…

My last run was about an 8. I’m redoing the Couch to 5k and I really wanted to keep going. Those are the best runs!

I’ve never been to a concert, but it doesn’t really appeal to me, all those people. Today I’m just hanging out, maybe tagging along on some errands.

Today was an early morning 7.5k with walking in between. I’ve been feeling terrible on my runs! I can’t even run 5k straight and I’ve gone from an 8min mile to a 10min mile. My legs ache and refuse to do any more. I have no idea what’s happening. I think it’s an after effect of overtraining, but I don’t know how to stop it.

Emma, I hope you read this… I’ve been feeling the same recently too. I think it might be because I’m not drinking enough water and weather has got warmer… Going to try to hydrate more to see if that helps

Reply

Thank you! I’ll try that!

My last run was a total 10. It was the first run in over a year where I felt like my body showed up. I have been plagued with injuries since last May and this was the first time I didn’t even think of or feel those injuries. Granted it was only 4 miles but I will take it!
I’m doing a freelance photography gig today and then cleaning all day tomorrow. Not a super exciting weekend but my house does need the facelift. :)

8 miles on my bff the treadmill while watching America’s Got Talent, it was a keeper.

Best concert was Toby Mac!!!!

Have a GREAT day!

Best concert was U2 with floor seats! It was surreal.

Last run was 4 miles with the stroller… a 5 because the tires were flat!!!

I’m running the Crescent City Bridge 4 miler tonight….over the Mississippi! Its going to be beautiful but so HOT. I Intern for an awesome organization called Youth Run NOLA and we are running it together & getting photographed to be featured in runners world!

Reply

Okay, that sounds like such an amazing race! Enjoy and stay cool:) I can’t wait to see the pictures IN RUNNERS WORLD!! SOO cool!

I’m going to soak up some rays at the pool today and then babysit for a friend tonight. It will be a relaxing day. :)

Every Taylor Swift concert I’ve been to is awesome, but her Fearless tour will always be my favorite. Hands down.

My run this morning felt like an 8. I was able to hit the paces I wanted for my tempo, but the humidity made it a challenge for sure. But I felt great afterward!

Happy Saturday!!

My last run was 6 miles and it was great! The weather has been perfect for running lately. Off to do 8 soon!
Hope you and Brooke have a wonderful Saturday!

Reply

My last run was 3.38 miles. It felt oookkkkaaayyyy. It was a route I haven’t ran before because we are on vacation so that was exciting, but it was crazy humid out and I was a wee bit over dressed so I was overheated after. My legs felt heavy too, but I did it it’d done and I guess that’s what matters:)
Have a fabulous weekend!!

Is that bad luck not to get a fortune in your fortune cookie? That’s so bizarre! I think it’s interesting how our bodies adjust to training. It always seems like they forget fitness so quickly. Even after I take a day off of fitness I get sore the day after trying to get back into things.

Reply

My last run was this morning – felt great! I ran with a friend for the first time… Boy have I been missing out! It was so much fun!

Reply

This makes me so so happy.. running with friends is the absolute best!

Reply

Best Concert ever….Darius Rucker!! He has been awesome at his concerts (I have been to 5 and counting. :0) No fortune in your cookie means your future is what YOU make it out to be! Heading to cross fit. Blessed weekend to ALL…..

Reply

Best concert I ever went to was when I was a teenager and I saw NSYNC while sitting fourth row on the floor. It was incredible!!! haha

My last run on Thurs felt really good but afterwards I had a crazy coughing fit. I think it was too soon in my bronchitis recovery to go running so I had to skip yesterday. I might skip today too just in case since I am still coughing a little. I really want to go running but I also want this cold to go away 100% and maybe another day of rest will help me get rid of this cough!

Where did you get the 4th of July shirt?? I love it!

Reply

Thanks girl! I got it at this store:
http://www.calledtosurf.com

I can’t find it online but I’m sure if you call the store they will ship it to you!! Good luck!

Thanks!!

Those are the runs we live for, don’t you agree?! All the hard runs are worth it once you have one of those great ones. I’m so glad for you!

It’s hard to believe it’s almost the 4th of July! I’ll be just about a month from my due date, which is all kinds of crazy :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Reply

I need to move to Utah. Or Colorado. Or somewhere with beautiful running trails and outdoor concerts! I love the 4th of July shirts. So festive, you two!

-Im going to my schools graduation today!! Then I might have a dinner date with the family :)
– Honestly, I’ve never been to a concert in my 17 years of existence…SHOCKER!!
– My last run (Rock n Roll San Diego) was a 56456543455465. Need I say more? :)

I’m so excited to see Imagine Dragons this Wednesday! I hope you have an awesome weekend!

I never ate a donut yesterday! So sad. I went to the Sam Smith concert at a quaint theatre here in Vancouver before he got super big. We were in the VERY FIRST ROW. It was magical.

Reply

I just ran the toughest half of my life…hills and 80 degrees!
I’ll rate that run a 4.
Best concert: Garth brooks because he was such an incredible entertainer.

Reply

I haven’t run in about a month and I’m really missing it–I’m in Arizona so once it hits the summer it’s hard to do anything outside, even at night. I just found a used treadmill though, so I’m hoping to log some miles this weekend! :)

Reply

Oh no! Don’t worry about the whole fortune-less thing; it happened to me a few weeks ago, and I just think that means we don’t need any fortunes because we’re awesome. ;)

My last run didn’t feel great because it was super hot and sticky out. But! I was out there and that’s all that matters.

Reply

Empty fortunate cookie = the future is what you make of it. :) I’d say that is a good thing.

I searched high and low for a donut yesterday but all the shops were sold out and closed. I substituted froyo instead and will have to make up for it another day.

My last run felt about 8/10. I finally braved the forrest near my parents’ house in France. It was beautiful and interesting. (I got exceptionally lost, and spent 15 minutes looking at maps at various points. I deducted two points for this).

Reply

Best concert was Counting Crows/Collective Soul/Live. Sooo good. Close second probably would have to be No Doubt/Paramour.

Reply

My last run was this morning. Humidity and my injury continue to vex me, I’d give it a 5.5 or 6 because 2 of my training buddies were with me and they helped push me along. (I wasn’t the only one waiting for my watch to beep a walking break).

Best concert? Duran Duran was my first and I was over the moon. I’ve been many since then and Bruce Springsteen puts on a heck of a show for hours. He’s amazing.

I ran, did a little work (very little), had brunch with my coach and hit a yard sale – all before 1 pm. Who knows what later today will bring, we play it by ear.

Reply

Best concert I’ve ever been to – Stevie Wonder. Played for 4 hours with only one 20 minutes break. It was incredible.

Reply

Best Concert was NSync a very long time ago!!
15km (9.4 miles) this morning on the treadmill. Was a bit slower than I was a month ago, but still super enjoyable :)

Reply

My day was full of my favorite half marathon! I didn’t kick out a PR, but I loved it! In the 80’s, VERY hilly, and oh so humid. And I almost choked when a water bag exploded in my mouth……………I can’t handle those things, just give me a cup of water! And I saw alpacas, horses, donkeys, cows, goats, dogs, cats, turkey, and vultures! It was very scenic thru some farmland.

Best concert: seeing Alabama and several other acts at the Grand Ole Opry!

Reply

I’ve gotten an empty fortune cookie before, and I’ve also gotten the same fortune a few times in a row. Once I got one that said, “help! I’m stuck in a fortune cookie factory!” I kept that one because I couldn’t stop laughing.

Reply

My favorite concert has to be the U2 one that I went to last month. They put on a spectacular show. I don’t think I’ll ever go to a better concert.

Reply

My last run was a 5… Calves were on fiyaaaaaa

Hi Janae, that is one great workout hun, wow :) can I ask do you use the incline on the treadmill at all? I always set mine of 1% incline because I hear it is replicating outside, then I hear it doesn’t matter if you set it at all, im confused as to what to do. Help :)

This is the same question I would like to know???? I really doubt she would answer this, seems like she likes us to comment but then she can’t answer one simple question! Good luck with getting your answer Caroline Rose, but I would look else where if I were you

How unfortunate!

Reply

A. I cannot believe how tall your little child is.

B. I cannot believe how cute she is

C. I cannot believe how long I’ve been reading your blog

D. I can totally believe she’s completely spoiled because of all the love and “look how cute she is” she probably gets. I have a few like that…(three) there’s not much to do for it but snuggle ’em.

Holy smokes, you are crazy speedy!!!! Drooling over those PF Chang’s lettuce wraps, my favorite!

Concert looks so fun!

My last run was yesterday – 14 miles easy pace… felt good! although when I stopped to stop and pee in the woods, I got swarmed by hungry mosquitoes :/ Still felt great though!!

Reply

Looks like you’ve already done lots of fun summery activities, I love it!

Went to a film festival viewing of some favorite “shorts” and your fortune cookie reminded me of my favorite short: Table 7. It’s about a couple working out issues at a chinese restaurant. But it’s so much more than that….

Looks like you had quite the weekend! I love your nail polish color! What is it?
