Cross your fingers and a run with a 2:40 marathoner!

Yesterday I got to run with a guy that ran a 2:40 marathon at Boston a few years back.  I am pretty sure for the majority of the 8 miles of running together I quizzed him on every question I could think of about Boston and training.   Talking about it all with him made me even more excited and ready to bust a move in 9 days.

8 miles @ 7:25 pace…  It was ridiculously windy in the canyon and I think we were the only ones out to brave the wind.

Spring Break has been in full force in Utah and so we went (along with the rest of the state) to the Hogle Zoo for some animal watching.

Brooke loved the seals.

As we were leaving I asked her what her favorite animal was that she saw at the zoo and she told me that the ladybug was her #1.  Not the lions, tigers and bears… the ladybug.

I am guessing she is talking about the ladybug from the carousel.

Anytime we are in SLC we have to stop at Trader Joe’s.  Brooke fell asleep in my arms as I strolled up and down the aisles drooling over everything and getting some of our favorites.  She stayed asleep the entire time and my right arm must have gained about 1 lb of muscle from carrying her the entire time.

I am so mad I didn’t see this before checking out because I totally would have picked it up.  I LOVE the partially popped kernels in my bags of popcorn so this must be incredible.

Our other mandatory stop when up north is to Jason’s Deli.  The highlights of the salad bar included the caprese salad, roasted garlic hummus and the chocolate pudding in the back.

But the real reason we go to Jason’s Deli—>  free ice cream with your meal.  As much as you want.  And it is the perfect consistency and flavor.

As soon as we got home my throat, body and head started hurting.  Looks like between my foot last weekend and a fun little virus now my body is yelling at me to rest so I will.  Instead of 10 miles this morning we will be watching movies all day.

Enjoy your Saturday and cross your fingers that Coldeez and laziness work some miracles fast;)

feel better, my friend! a day full of movies and being horizontal on the couch is prob the best remedy, just saying.

running in the wind is terrible!! I think I’d prefer just about any other weather condition. So way to stick it through!

Trader Joes is my favorite place ever!!!! I always spend a little bit too much money whenever I go in there ;) their turkey burgers and almond butter are heavenly.

I hope you feel better!! Take care of yourself; remember to drink lots of water!!!

I am betting you will feel 100% by the end of the weekend! I always end up feeling sick or feel like I have an injury pop up right before a race. Usually it is something very minor that is just a great reminder for me to rest!

I love TJs! I wish I had one closer to us so we could go more often! Have a great weekend!

I need to get over to TJs – we have one not too far but Sprouts is super close so I usually go there but I”m missing some of my TJ favorites!

The crazy strong wind we have had here has kept me on the treadmill more days than I’d like to count…although I’ve braved it a couple of times and glad I did. I feel like it’s those days where you feel more tired but stronger. Salad was my meal of choice yester day…for lunch (at the park) AND dinner (after my run). I’d be worried about those popcorn kernels doing a number on my teeth…then is have to answer to my sister when I went for her to clean my teeth! I can’t wait to watch Boston and then read your review!!!

Hope you feel better real quick! I am always reading about Jason’s Deli – it looks like such a good food time, I gotta find the closest one to NY and make it a point to go there!

Enjoy your rest and feel better soon. I am running Boston as well and came down with a stomach bug yesterday so I will be resting up today as well. Utah seems to have some of the best places to eat – I miss froyo so much all the places around me close for the winter!

Feel better! Allergies are in full force over here and I’ve been living in a fog for a while. Hope you’re able to kick the bug quick!

I think a cold is your body’s way of forcing you to get some rest. You are smart for taking a day off and watching movies. Sounds like a great day to me! :) Feel better soon. What did your friend have to say about Boston? What kind of questions did you ask?

Feel better! Allergies are kicking my butt right now! And a guy at work said his wife had strep! :S

Any good movies you are going to watch? One that I HIGHLY recommend, is Charade, with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. So good!

Hope you feel better! Rest is good…you don’t want anything happening before the race!

Hope that rest takes care of it! Down to the last week, don’t need that now!
Ladybugs are pretty cool. Except for those imposters (Asian beetles) that are hanging out in my house. Enough of those!

A 2:40 marathoner? Wow!!!! For me that would have been more of an ” attempting to chase the 2:40,marathoner and failing horribly” kind of run, Lol!!! I bet that was an amazing and fun workout. Girl, you’re going to kill it in Boston! Cannot wait for you :)

Good luck in Boston. I will be over in Lexington the day of the race. Not sure how long you are staying in the city, but if you can get out and do some sight seeing, please do! MA has some of the best historical sites in the country…and good food.

Anyway…hope your race is a wicked pissah!

Nooo! I hope you don’t come down with something this close to the marathon. Maybe the wind was carrying something. Rest up for next Monday!

I also love that Jason’s Deli has free ice cream. I don’t always partake but I love having that option.

Feel better girl!!!

Never told you but the other day I had 12 x 400 m repeats at 6:00 pace. They were HARD but I kept telling myself “you can do hard things” and “you are strong” and it helped so much. You helped me in spirit. Thank you!!

Rest up and get your fluids!!! I’m calling this the Pre-Marathon Cold. I get one every year before Boston and at school yesterday one of the student aids gave me Halls with vitamin C because she said I sounded like I was getting sick and my voice sounded scratchy. :( I came home and had a hot shower, put on my PJs and slept. I feel a kazillion times better today. :)

Feel better!
