Ombre running capris and a disappointment.

I found a pair of capris that I actually love to run in (usually I only like running in shorts or running tights… rarely capris).  They have been especially perfect for the days that I run on the treadmill before teaching spin because they work great for both activities.  They also work great for wearing all day long because you don’t feel like changing.

Brooke wanted to show off her leggings.

IMG 4400

They are the Women’s Pureproject Seamless Ombre Capri.  I love patterned workout pants/capris that are pretty simple but still different than just one solid color.  They stay put the entire time I am running and I really like the feel of compression type capris.  I love Ombre everything and there is a little center-back-pocket for your keys/chapstick etc.   I think that a thick waistband is always a plus so that you don’t feel like the band is cutting into your sides.

Because I am sure you wanted a picture of my bathroom floor.

Why do we even wear normal clothes when workout clothes have become so ridiculously comfortable?!

———————————————————-

Last night’s festivities began with food.  We were extremely excited to go to Jason’s Deli for dinner up in Salt Lake City before the game but it closed before we got there (it closed at 6 pm).

Megan and Lindsey managed to make it through such a tough disappointment;)

IMG 4573

The Jazz lost to the Celtics but it was still a really fun game to go to.  Going to Jazz games will always remind me of my older brother taking me to the games when I was just a little girl.

IMG 4581

We were pretty much in the first row last night;)

IMG 4577

They are just as obsessed with this stuff as I am.

IMG 4599

And then we played Megan’s favorite game of having a debate about the ranking candy.

IMG 4602

Is there anything more peaceful than a sleeping baby?  I think not.

What do you prefer running in… Shorts, capris, running tights or a skirt?  **temperature isn’t a factor for this question.

What is your breakfast today?  Do you usually stick to the same stuff for bfast or switch it up?

What other running blogs have you been reading lately?  (A reader emailed me to ask for some great recommendations from you guys!!!)

I prefer running in shorts because that means it’s warm outside!
Green smoothie for breakfast.

I didn’t used to be able to run in running capris, but now that I’ve found ones that are comfortable and don’t move around/ride up, I love them.

I’m terrible with coming up with creative things for breakfast, so I usually have eggs and toast or oatmeal.

Can I say my own blog? :) I read Jen Chooses Joy, Running ‘n Reading, and The Foodie Runner as soon as they post something new!

Reply

Yes…you can say your own blog. It’s allowed. :)

For the pure project leggings did you have a problem with sizing? For me I couldn’t squeeze into a small and even a medium fit me really weird. When I tried them on I was most comfortable in a large (and I’ve almost always worn small leggings). The sizing seems like it needs some work! The ombré tights are super cool though.

Reply

Really!? That is strange. The smalls work for me but they do take effort to get on and off because they are so tight! I like my tights to be pretty tight though! Hope you are having an amazing day gorgeous girl!

Reply

Those tights are awesome. I always wear capris in the winterand shorts spring summer and fall. Breakfast today is eggs, spinach and plantains.

Reply

Love those capris! I usually run in the longer shorts from C9 at Target. They’re tight fitting but a little longer than regular shorts!

I almost always eat the same breakfast – Greek yogurt and egg whites. Today, I might get a little crazy and add granola to my yogurt!

Reply

Most of the time I run in shorts, thanks to Texas weather, but I have actually come to love running in capris. And I agree: workout clothes are SO much better than normal clothes. Sometimes I wear yoga pants with heels to work and try to pass them off as dress pants… :)

Reply

Yay this makes me happy! I do merchandising for a running store and just ordered these! They look so cute on you!

Reply

Love the ombré tights! I run in capris or shorts. Eating my Superfood Protein Bites.

Reply

Running capris are my pick although I’m on the hunt for a great pair of running shorts!! Any suggestions?

Breakfast today is a fried egg sandwich with fruit and yogurt.

I read a lot of running blogs but love Girl Gone Running! She’s currently training for Boston too!

Reply

Those capris look great! I like wearing capris when I take classes at the gym but for running I prefer shorts. For breakfast I have been eating some sort of eggs every day because I’m doing the Whole30. I’ve been loving using bacon and lots of different veggies to make my breakfasts more exciting!

Reply

Love the capris! I’m a shorts person and feel like I’m either in shorts or winter tights for running. Yoga I prefer capris or yoga leggings.

Reply

I love capris and shorts. Depending on the run I guess. Not the weather though…so my answer still counts. ;) And how I’m feeling that day. I’m fickle.

Running off the Reeses is my favorite, Shut up and Run is good, and really…I just go through the comments and if I like a comment or I think it’s smart, funny or gets my attention…I want to know what else they have written.

Sometimes I just click on the commenter because I see the link. One comment doesn’t always showcase someone’s writing ability…or should I say…their ability to entertain me. Ha. I don’t sleep. I go to bed late and I’m up early. I like to scroll articles and blogs and as I am a proponent of the small business, I’m the same with the small blog.

Clearly I don’t have a life.

Reply

Capris for me. My favorites are my inexpensive C9s from Target. I’m looking for a really flashy pair for racing though.

Other blogs I love: Salty Running (a great mix of female bloggers with a wide range of reader-centered topics) and Shut Up and Run (this woman is hilarious.)

Reply

I usually run in shorts for summer and long tights when it’s chilly….I don’t really get capris or crops, why would you want your ankles cold???

Reply

I love going to a good sporting event! I grew up watching the Knicks play the Celtics. Always a fun time and of course, always going to hockey games. season tickets. I rank the candy too! lol….I love running in capris yea round – the Lululemon Run Inspire Crops are my favorite but in the summer, I do alternate with running skirts. I have a Nike one that I like and the Lulu Pace Setter.

Reply

Athleta skirts!!! Comfy and cute :)

I read Running on Lentils

Reply

I prefer shorts and running tights, depending on the weather and the type of run. I’m usually not a fan of capris for running but totally wear them around the house all the time. Those ombre capris are so cute!
Breakfast today is my usual weekday breakfast—oatmeal with a banana and almonds plus a big cup of coffee.

Reply

I’m usually a shorts or full length leggings kinda girl. Something about capris is just so uncomfortable to me.
I almost always have oatmeal for breakfast. I never get sick of it.

Reply

I love your leggings! I usually wear shorts and an old college tshirt when I run. Breakfast today was oatmeal! I tend to rotate between yogurt, oatmeal, and eggs.

Reply

Capris are probably my favorite to run in. I like the compression they give me without actually being pants.

Breakfast is always easy because I leave for work at 7am. This morning, it’ll probably be eggs. Sometimes I’ll do avocado toast and a fried egg or oatmeal.

I like The T-Rex Runner blog :)

Reply

That ice cream looks delish! I wish wearing workout clothes was acceptable in all occasions too- SO comfy! I have the speed squad shorts from Lululemon that has the spandex underneath which I love because you don’t have to worry about your shorts riding up when you run. Unfortunately, I have one pair and they don’t make them anymore so I wear them all the time! haha

My go to for breakfast in the winter is usually oatmeal, banana, and coconut oil. In the summer it’s a smoothie!

I’m really loving the blog Glitter and Dust by Kristen! She runs, bikes, and swims!

Reply

+1 for Glitter and Dust! One of the best blogs out there! She’s doing her first full Ironman this year!

Reply

I only wear leggings right now, but once it gets warmer, I’m sure I’ll use my capris!

Reply

-shorts are my first choice for running.
– for this marathon cycle I’ve been drinking a Vega One shake for breakfast everyday. I swear it’s my secret weapon.
– blogs I like right now: roserunner and msfitrunner. Two super fast ladies.

Reply

I’ve wondered why Jason’s Deli has the strangest hours?!

Capris are actually my favorite to run in. Shorts are always so…short:) and running tights are great if it’s really cold but capris mean it’s perfect running weather.

If I read a good/funny comment I’ll click on the name to check out their blog. I only read a couple blogs these days, though, Instagram is about all I have time for and there’s lots of great runners to follow.

Reply

I wish I could run in shorts but I chafe really bad when I do. My only option are capris or running tights. I even tried the skirts too but it just felt kind of weird.

I like a lot of blogs: Run Eat Repeat, Eat Pray Run DC, yours, Paleo Running Momma, Skinny Fitalicious, My Food and Fitness Diaries, Carrots and Cake, Peanut Butter Fingers, and mine of course :) Honestly the list could go on and on! There are blogs for everything now a days.

Reply

I love running in shorts. Gotta have my legs free!

I had oatmeal with a banana, chopped strawberries, chia seeds, cinnamon and cashew buttah…yeah, it was good:)

Reply

I love to run in either long tights or capri tights (depending on the temp). No shorts. At least not yet, my legs are still fairly wide and shorts ride up on me and it’s not pretty. ;)
No breakfast yet today, probably oatmeal with a banana. It changes. Yesterday I had scrambled eggs and a toasted English muffin.
I read so many blogs, hmmm…let me think….
Racing Bananas
Running ‘N’ Reading
Fit Approach
Just to name a few.

Reply

Cute capris! I definitely prefer shorts…and am looking for a cute new pair, if you have recommendations!

I’m pretty boring with breakfast…usually steel cut oats with berries and walnuts, or Greek yogurt and a piece of whole wheat toast if I’m in a hurry. I love eggs with veggies, but my stomach can’t handle that before I run.

Reply

I’m a shorts girl too! The waistband in leggings never sit right!

PRETTY PLEASE READ MINE! I am trying to qualify for the Ironman world champs, but I am predominantly a runner..pick me pick me!

A subtle one, wasn’t it ;)

Reply

For breakfast I had a large cup of coffee, quiche and an orange. I like to run in short but I have a hard time finding brands that don’t ride up my legs as I run and cause my thighs to chafe.

Reply

Those tights are super cute! I love capris for yoga because they aren’t short enough to make you worry about exposing your bits, but regular workout pants fall down to your knees when you are inverted, which is so annoying!

I’m pretty much a machine when it comes to breakfast. I go in cycles, though… oatmeal for months, then yogurt with granola for months, then egg sandwiches… on and on.

Goodness, Brooke must get her eyelashes done, too, right? *wink, wink* They are seriously gorgeous! And yes, I love when my Harlow is sleeping. She looks so sweet and peaceful.

Reply

I have been on an oatmeal kick lately so that is my breakfast today! oatmeal with brown sugar and walnuts. so good!

Reply

I love tights. I feel like they’re not too hot or not too cold everr. Awe little Brooke posing. So cute.

And I usually do coffee and a bagel, or anything like that. Sometimes toast or a cookie. I’m usually in a hurry for breakfast.

And I read your blog of course :) but if I want to expand than I look for cool ladies commenting on here

Reply

I prefer longer capris. My thighs chafe in shorts which results in some weird bruises after long runs.

Reply

when i workout i prefer either capris or spandex shorts… as long as they’re hugging to prevent chafing as much as possible ;)

brooke’s eyelashes kill me! so beautiful, and peaceful

Reply

I’m definitely a capri person…I HATE shorts! Plus, when I put on boots, my capri workout tights turn into pants, haha.

Reply

Whenever I peak in on my kids sleeping I not only think “how peaceful” but, just how lucky I am and they are to be able to sleep so soundly ~ in a warm bed, loved, with stuffed animals ~ favorite blankies, and all that brings peace to their sleep. That’s what it is all about!

And personally I just can’t bring myself to go to anything if I may need binoculars to look through to see it better when I can get up and close on the TV in my house. I guess I am kind of weird that way. ;-)

Reply

Ohhhhh we just went to Jason’s Deli on Sunday! You know, I had only been there ONCE, in TX when I was visiting my Nana last YEAR, and I just realized that there is one right by me here in Ohio! And Sunday, I was CRAVING their salad bar, so I bribed the Hus into going…I think it might be his new favorite place. :)
I love running skirts in the spring, summer, but I really wear them all – shorts, pants, capris. Depends on the activity I’m doing and what I feel like lol.

Reply

Like you, I always ran in either tights or shorts depending on the weather, but last summer I bought my first pair of running capris and LOVE them. Like you, I like them because they also work really well for activities other than running…for activities like yoga and pilates, you generally don’t want a short. I plan to buy a bunch more when the weather gets warmer.

For breakfast today, I had oatmeal with frozen mixed berries, honey, cinnamon, and skim milk. I mentioned on your last blog that I have been eating A TON of frozen mixed berries lately. I think I’m going to switch to just blueberries because they’re my fave.

Reply

I never go out of my way to buy capris, but I have a few I don’t mind wearing.

I normally eat oatmeal. Every dang morning. If I am hangry, I add in a smoothie.

Reply

Super cute capris! I usually prefer capris for running … or anything really! They’re my favorite.

Today I randomly had a bagel for breakfast which is not my norm, but it sounded really good. Usually I have oatmeal in some way, shape, or form.

Reply

I prefer shorts but I live in Minnesota so I have to cover up a bit more when running outside :) I love tights for the cold winter days.

I go through spurts on what I eat for breakfast. I will eat the same thing every day for months and then get tired of it and switch to something else and eat that every day for months. Right now it is a whole wheat english muffin with nut butter and a banana. Yummy!

Reply

I typically run in shorts or capris – but only my favorite ones! I don’t have much of a waist and I cannot handle any sort of squeezy waistband.

Breakfast is casual today since it’s a late start for me – probably oatmeal and egg whites with blueberries and cinnamon.

Reply

I’m a capri running girl…I feel like shorts are always getting bunched up between my legs – and I have fit/muscular legs – they probably aren’t but that’s a weird phobia of mine (embarrasing race pics don’t go away). When it’s REALLY hot I’ll wear shorts but I feel like I need to wear short compression shorts underneath them and that seems to contradict the whole point?!

During the week I can usually only talk myself into eating some sort of a gluten free bar and coffee for breakfast (I really only want the coffee but know that I need more fuel) but the weekends are full on oatmeal, blueberries and cottage cheese (sounds really gross but is the best thing EVER) thanks to the fANNEtastic food blogger (she’s a registered dietician in DC who also runs – great resource, huh?!).

Reply

I like capris for running!

Reply

Shorts – all day errry day. Fact – I have more running clothes than normal clothes.

I’m playing Megan’s game too and am going to go with Mini-Starbursts, Take 5, and then Milkway.

Reply

I run so much that I can’t afford to be too picky…but…I’ll never run in a skirt. Ever. Because it would please my mom to no end and that alone wouldn’t be worth it. My entire life she has begged and pleaded with me to be more “ladylike” and I can’t stand it! She was a florist, our walls were painted pink in our entire house, and she’s had these long fake hot pink nails for as long as I can remember. GAH. K, back to counseling sessions I guess. Sigh…

Reply

I love running in capri’s! I tend to chafe in shorts, so capri’s fix that:)

I eat the same thing everyday- peanut butter and a banana and some form of greek yogurt (with lots of coffee!)

I am newly enjoying http://www.neverseriousblog.com-> she is great!

Reply

I run in shorts unless it’s below 35 degrees! I’d rather be cold rather than hot any day, plus I think they’re more comfortable than leggings most of the time.

I did just get my first pair of Lululemon tights, though, and I finally understand all the hype. They’re SO comfortable and don’t ride up at all!

Reply

Hm… I like to run in long, light sweats.

For breakfast, I can be a creature of habit. I’ll get on a train of eating yogurt and fruit and nuts every day for a while, and they I’ll decide that I want some more proteinish food and I’ll make some eggs, or I’ll want a more ‘carbish’ breakfast, so I’ll do cereal or oatmeal. It depends. :)

Reply

I always wear capris for yoga, but never for running – always shorts or tights.

Your seats at the game remind me of where I always sit when I go to hockey games! I think it’s more fun way up in the stands though.

Reply

Cute tights but $85 holy smokes! I love running in capris, too!

Reply

I’ve always preferred running in tights. But I’m very loyal to Nike Tempo Boy Shorts when I do go with shorts :) I’m with you on the capris, I love lounging in them but I rarely run in them. However, I’m OBSESSED with those. I’ve already pinned them as a must-have.

I had an english muffin with peanut butter and bacon today. Normally I’m a cereal gal, but I’m in Boston and we’re getting pounded with snow right now so it obviously was a special occasion.

Along with your blog I read The Girl Who Ran Everywhere pretty religiously. I’d love to hear some other recos though too!

Reply

Sounds like a fun night, even if they lost. I was thoroughly enjoying the snaps I was getting from Megan.

Capris are my jam…so if you ever need someone to take them off your hands…or I guess that would be legs? I am your gal.

No. There is nothing more precious that sleeping kids.

Greek yogurt, strawberries and homemade pb granola. I feel like I go through phases where I eat the same thing for breakfast for a month and then it changes to something else for a month and so on and so forth.

I feel like Maverick were the pioneers of fro yo. I remember going there for my fro yo needs 14 years ago, before there were fro yo joints in every town. It truly doesn’t disappoint. Until you get told that you should never come back because you got in an argument with the clerk over your fro yo size and her wanting to charge you double….but that is neither here nor there.

Sleeping baby = most peaceful thing ever.
Wish I could run in shorts year round!
Breakfast 1 = eggs + guac + toast + fruit
Breakfast 2 = oatmeal made w/ apples, almonds, flax seed, cinnamon

I love playing the “rank the candy” game.
I play it all the time with whoever will join in the fun! LOL.

Reply

I’m short of tights all the way! Same with sleeves, for some reason I simply cannot run in short sleeves. Weird.

Breakfast was my go to yogurt bowl. You just can go wrong with pumpkin, peanut butter, and apples stirred in!

I just adore Fitness Meets Frosting!

Reply

If I’m running outside – capris, inside on the treadmill – shorts.

Breakfast today was a smoothie, but usually it’s an english muffin or eggs.

Reply

I like shorts or capri-leggins – but they have to be the right material. Some capri’s just don’t move as well. Never a running skirt!

Breakfast is usually eggs/potatoes or yogurt/granola

I like reading: Runladylike and Laces and Lattes and Running Lonely and my own blog, yes?! :-)

Reply

I love running in shorts :)
Breakfast is usually oatmeal, fruit and a hard boiled egg (I love big breakfasts!)

Reply

I love running in tights because of the additional compression. When I am in shorts it feels like everything is flying free – which I don’t mind on those really hot days. But tights are definitely comfortable.

My day always starts with a cup of coffee and yogurt. I will them munch on a banana or some eggs mid-morning after my workout. I try to keep it pretty simple.

I follow a lot of running/triathlon blogs. I love triathlon blogs because they give me ideas for cross training.

Reply

I prefer to run in shorts, but will run in leggings or capris too. I’m not super picky as long as they fit well! Hello shorts riding up and leggings and capris falling down!!

Breakfast-apple and peanut butter today. I’m pretty consistent and boring with breakfast.

Run Eat Repeat is a great running blog. Olives n Wine, Housewife Glamour, and Olives N Wine for all types of fitness.

Reply

I prefer running in capris actually. Plus, like you, I like transitioning from run to bike :) My breakfast was oatmeal with roasted peanuts and a pear! I have been reading my own running blog ;)

Reply

I’d prefer to always wear shorts. I don’t normally wear capris either–I rarely find a temperature where capris seem relevant. I would rather wear shorts or tights.

I almost always have peanut butter toast with banana!

Reply

Those capri’s look incredibly comfortable, the waistband is awesome! I love capris because if I am at the gym I can do floor exercises afterward without worrying about flashing anyone! ha!

Reply

-I definitely prefer to run in shorts, otherwise I tend to get too warm.
-Breakfast for me today was overnight oats in a nearly empty peanut butter jar. Usually lately though it’s been scrambled eggs with a side of fruit.

Reply

I like running in tight fitted shorts or just regular shorts. I don’t like drawstrings that go down the middle of my ding dong, hah!

i had oatmeal for bfast today! i usually have that or kodiak cakes. maaahh favorite.

I am high maintenance with my running gear:
racing- skirts
training inside- shorts
training outside- tights (if cold), shorts (if warm)

I love capris for spin and wear them a lot for cold weather running but they aren’t my favorite.

Reply

Can you do a giveaway for those pants! Super cute, but they’re not in my budget and I would love a chance to win some!

I love those leggings, so pretty!!

I would say my own blog http://www.therunnerbeans.com hahah, also loving NYC Running Mama, but also on the lookout for new running blogs as I need to get my mojo back!

I always run in shorts, #FloridaProblems ;)

I try to mix it up with breakfast, otherwise I tend to get obsessive about certain foods and eat them ALL the time until I get sick of them.

Favorite running blogs: T Rex Runner, Roserunner, and MarathonandSprint. Tina and Colby from MarathonandSprint are awesome athletes and very talented writers as is Danielle from T Rex Runner. Roserunner is insanely fast and I love reading her race recaps. I also like Beth at shutupandrun, I think I share her sense of humor and she makes me laugh.

Reply

I love those capris! I just got a pair of compression running capris from Old Navy in a bright blue color and I love them!

Reply

Today’s breakfast was an egg & cheese sandwich on an english muffin. I am currently obsessed.
I think I like running in skirts the best. But I feel weird in them at the gym. Not sure why. So I wear skirts outside and shorts inside.

Reply

I LOVE capris. Lululemon has a capri pant with side pockets! I love them for those long runs when you need to carry fuel. The pockets are perfect for your phone too. No bounce and stays in.

Reply

I usually prefer to run in shorts bc I find the others a little too constricting. Honestly, I can run in capris I just don’t prefer to.

I am shadowing at a local studio, so I usually have a Perfect Bar around 630 am because I can’t eat that much super early. When I get home around 10 I make myself a smoothie w protein powder, chia seeds, ALL THE GREENS, blueberries, and water. BAM.

Reply

Those pants are cute! A creature of habit, I stick to overnight oats for breakfast every day.

Reply

I would say my favourite thing to run in is leggings. I love the LOOK of shorts, but if my legs start a run even a tiny bit cold they literally will not warm up ever. Which translates into dead legs and a crappy run.

Breakfast this morning was overnight oats! I eat them every Tuesday / Thursday, and then have the same yogurt + granola breakfast Monday / Wednesday / Friday. It’s a schedule thing and I am way too lazy to switch it up. :)

Reply

I actually wear capris most often! Capris or long tights are my favorite.

My usual breakfast is oatmeal or an English muffin with banana and nut butter, but since it’s a snow day, we made waffles today!

My favorite running blogs are Chic Runner and yours. I write one, too… I’ve only recently started sharing it with the world, even though I’ve written it for ages. Mine is Short Stories from Long Runs!

oh my, that babies eyelashes…..BEAUTIFUL!
I prefer capris in winter and fall and shorts in spring and summer. Athleta or Nike.

Reply

I really like running in all of the 3, they just have to fit well and not fall down. I read quite a few healthy living blogs, but yours is the only running blog that I read consistently, and I LOVE it!!

Reply

Skirts have been my favorites for racing and long runs too. They just have a much better (sleek!) look for me, and they have so many useful pockets in them! For my everyday runs, which are 90% indoor during the winter, I just wear any pair of shorts.
I too just started my blog, with my training for my first Boston marathon. Stop on by!

When its cold- like lately – definitely running tights! I have been having muesli… and honestly its the best! I am an oats lover through and through but muesli is so versatile and far easier than stovetop oats!
Brooke is just the cutest little girl I have ever seen! <3

I love love love those pants! I prefer everything in capris – no idea why! I’m always looking for new ones. I usually run in the Nike Dri Fit, they fit so nicely and use recycled water bottles in the production! I’m partial to my blog, but that’s just me! :) I write about everything – running, my son, special needs children, being a mom and going back to school – whatever is on my mind! Love your blog!

Reply

There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby!!! I’m mainly a shorts-runner but those capris are very cute! I don’t mind running in capris if I have a shirt to cover my rearend. The ones I have are a little too form-fitting for running around our neighorhood!

Those ice cream cones look huge… and amazing.

Capris are my favorite with shorts coming in a close second. I love your blog but I also love Shut Up and Run. She’s a hoot! :)

Reply

I prefer capri’s and usually run in CWX stability tights. I like the support. Those are cute though.

I usually eat oatmeal in the morning. Before a long run I eat multi-grain bread with almond butter. But this morning I made challah bread french toast with strawberries and toasted pecans. It’s snowy here and shoveling makes me hungry. It was delish and I’m still full.

Reply

I love to run in shorts. But I tend to chaff, so I have to have tight shorts. I really like the champion ones. I will have to try targets.

I read your blog, run eat repeat, and run to the finish, there’s also mine running with infertility.

I love those capris! And capris are my fave in the workout wear department, too.

I ate a banana for breakfast. I know, pretty wild choice in the brekkie department.

Your little one is such a beauty! Those eyelashes! Gasp :)

Coffee and mini wheats for me! Pretty much what I’ve eaten religiously for the last few years. It’s just so good!

Brooks eyelashes and cheeks, aww- such an angel :)

I love shorts, capris and tights equally – I wear which ever one suits the weather!

I eat the same thing each day…cereal…I’m a creature of habit! :)

Reply

I’m in to capris lately. I never use to wear them but since we moved to Georgia I really like them. I usually race in a running skirt tho.

Breakfast today was a baked potato with hummus. I’m so weird but really in to savory food lately and that works as a filling breakfast.

I read http://www.runeatrepeat.com and http://www.shutupandrun.net as well as miles-posts. I touch on some others but those, along with yours, are my regulars :)

I’d rather run in tights. Maybe its because Texas usually doesn’t have much of a winter so its really rare that I actually get to wear tights??

Does anyone know of a good cycling blog? I’m training for my first century and was hoping to read a blog of someone who has some experience…

I like running in shorts the best, but will settle for capris or pants in cooler weather. I love RunFarGirl.com and RunsForCookies!

I love those capris. I will have to try them. I especially love the pattern. I just got the Brooks Seamless PureProject capris and I am loving them. Mine are black and have a textured pattern down the side. They are super compressiony and feel like a control top at the waist which is super flattering. xoxo

Reply

I prefer to run in capris. Probably because it doesn’t get too cold here, even in winter, so capris are usually enough. Shorts cause chaffing for me.

I have porridge (oatmeal) almost every morning. I make my own brew with oats, quinoa flakes, chia seeds, linseed and mixed spice, and then add some other stuff for variety – amaranth flakes, oat bran, currants, goji berries, nuts, nut butter, fresh fruit, etc. I strangely never get bored!

i have recently come to love running in capris as well! The Nike relay capris are very comfortable, and a great length for short people!

Okay… I’m obsessed with those capris! They’re so cute! I have been stocking up one ones that are still simple but not just one solid color too! And I agree with you about your thoughts on running clothes. I pretty much try to stay in workout clothes at all times if humanly possible. Other clothes just aren’t as comfy!

Reply

I like the compression of running tights. I found an awesome pair of reflective ones that are now on my wishlist.

Breakfast lately has been bacon and Kodiak cakes. My favorite.

Reply

Definitely capris for running unless it’s reeeeeeaaallly hot outside. Shorts always seem to bunch up and I spend the whole run pulling them down.
Is it bad that I now pick out “cute” workout clothes so that maybe perhaps it’s harder to notice that I’m always wearing workout clothes? (Ok probably not fooling anyone…)
Breakfast – sometimes it happens, sometimes not. Except coffee, which must always happen. Today I had an English muffin with almond butter. Success.

Cute capris! And now I want some Costa Vida (actually, Cafe Rio is so much better) and Maverick ice cream. Sleeping babies are the best.

I love to wear spandex running shorts the most. I don’t like the baggy kind, they chafe my legs too much. Capris are an awkward length, leggings are too hard to get on and I get hot, and skirts – I’m not girly enough!

I had breakfast with my mom and sisters are the Park Cafe today! I got the Michagan hash and added salsa to it. Sooo good.

My favorite running blogs are probably yours (obviously) Jen Chooses Joy, The Girl Who Ran Everywhere, The Foodie Runner, Loving on the Run, STUFT Mama, and Run Far Girl!

I like to wear shorts! I had oatmeal with apple, strawberries, and PB. It’s my favorite thing for breakfast! I usually stick with oatmeal or yogurt parfaits. I read your blog and My Food n Fitness

This by far is my favorite but I also like RunEatRepeat. And while it’s not a running blog I love DamnDelicious for food/recipes.

Very specific: Skirt Sports’ Gym Girl Ultra skirt. I want something that is short, but since I’m heavier, covers the top of my thighs. Most running skirts have spankies under them which don’t work with my thighs at all (chafe city!) – these have actual shorts with pockets that stay put! Found it and it was love at first skirt.

I absolutely love workout clothes! I wish it were appropriate to wear them to work. I don’t normally like captions either…so now I’m intrigued. Have a great week!
