Tradition #10 & not one to turn down…

As we were leaving the house yesterday morning you could still see the moon in the sky.  Brooke just could not take her eyes off of it and I could not take my eyes off of her big blue eyes.

It was a spinning kind of a morning.

My luck has just been out of control lately.

I could not find my spin shoes anywhere. I thought there was NO WAY that I could have left them at the gym because who does that?  Oh yeah, I do that.  They were just hanging out in the lost and found waiting for me.

I need to work on keeping my possessions in my possession.

Quite festive in the spin room.

For din din my mom invited us over for her taco soup and I am not one to turn down time with my parents and an amazing bowl of hot soup.

Our 10th tradition for the month!

From 2013:

NewImage

This tradition has to be done with Paige and her family and we have vowed to do it every year together for the rest of our lives.

Thanksgiving Point to see the reindeer!

DSC 1026

She was really into the reindeer this year and I am guessing it is because we have read Rudolph 30 times a day since December 1st.

DSC 1010

And another major part of this tradition—>  Hot chocolate and cookies inside to warm back up again!

PS I just found this instagram account and I literally drooled when I saw this recipe.   All of the best foods in one bowl.  She has a ton of delicious looking and healthy recipes!

Time to hit the trails with the ladies.

I can’t think of a better way to start a Friday (unless you were to add hot and fresh donuts waiting at our cars for when we finish our run to the scenario).

Any delicious sweet potato recipes to share with me?  How do you prep yours and what do you eat them with?

Mashed sweet potatoes with chipolte pepper in adobe sauce. Oh my! The sweet and spicy just go so well together. Just mash 3 (big), baked sweet potatoes and toss in one diced chipolte pepper with adobe sauce. Eat. Enjoy.

I am looking forward to two very special things. Saturday I will be wrapping gifts that I bought for an underprivileged child along with many other people who sponsored a child. When we are done we will deliver the gifts! I received a boy named Joshua who wanted art supplies and a sweatshirt. Well he doesn’t know I am an artist. His supplies will be way more exciting than crayons crayons :)
I also am going to see a movie with my boyfriend Saturday night. A little date night. Makes me happy
Still not running as my ankle heals so I will be walking a few miles today. Just trying to get to 10,000 steps.

Brooke’s eyes! That photo!

The picture of Brooke with the reindeer she looks a lot like curly.

I just made some yummy honey lime sweet potato tacos that were AMAZING!!

You think it’s a problem to leave your shoes at the gym? Yesterday, after work I couldn’t find my keys. Now I know a lot of people who are always losing their keys but I NEVER do. I didn’t panic because I had a spare key hidden in my wallet so I could get into my house. Well, when I got home there were the keys hanging from the lock in my front door just waiting for someone to use them to come in. Now that was dumb.

Reply

OH NOOOOO!!! I am so glad they were still there though!

Reply

We make potato bowls like that (but with little red potatoes, not sweet potatoes) every Sunday–so delicious! The runny yolk really brings it all together. :) I ran a little over 3 miles this morning before I wimped out and decided I was too cold. Extra layers next time!

Reply

I love that you have these traditions that you stick to. I’m having an Ugly Holiday Sweater and Bingo Party this Saturday to fund-raise for my marathon. (I run for Team in Training). I’m hoping to hit my goal!

Crockpot sweet potatoes are my current obsession: http://wellnessmama.com/3272/slow-cooker-sweet-potatoes/
Warning: you may never be able to eat them any other way again. It’s a risk worth taking.

I’m super excited to be going to two holiday parties this weekend, so I suppose that takes care of my two things :) In order to prepare for those parties I will be squeezing in quick treadmill run after work today!

Reply

I haven’t ran outside in 2 weeks, tomorrow, I’m waking up and doing my 9 mile run…wish me luck!!
