The highlight of the day and my favorite dessert to make.

We woke up to quite the winter wonderland over here in Utah.

I feel like Mother Nature knew that we needed snow for Christmas and then hopefully it is going to be warm here again starting next week.  Actually, next week I will be in Arizona and I really can’t wait for the 60 degree running weather.  Brooke will be with her dad that week and so I am going to go visit my brother and Megan!

I hit up pump this morning and they gave us a Cutie as we were leaving.  It is sad how happy that made me.  The other thing about this picture is that I am wearing my mom’s shoes.  I was at her house before the gym and somehow I forgot workout shoes to go to the gym and so she lovingly let me take hers.  It is a good thing that we both wear size 10 in running shoes.

The highlight of the day was having Bangs Friend over for lunch.

Background of who Bangs is for newish readers—>  when I lived in San Jose she took really good care of me, we were always on some sort of crazy adventure together, she is the best cook/baker and I miss her like crazy.

Brooke and I got busy in the kitchen this morning making some treats for a party tonight!

Yes, we have matching aprons now:)

IMG 2790

Brooke’s favorite way to help = eating sprinkles and/or transferring sprinkles from one container to another.

IMG 2787

The finished masterpiece.  I was going to make something Christmas related but then I remembered that I have been craving S’mores Bars lately and I can’t wait to dig into these bad boys.

I’m so glad Utah is snowy! I’m moving back to SLC next week- can’t wait for some mountain scenery! There’s quite a bit of snow here in Vermont, but I think its going to rain and wash it all away in time for Christmas.

Have a great holiday!

No snow pretty much ever here…..I’m in northern California.

Highlight of my day…..that I’m done with Xmas shopping! And I finished all my baking last night. I have three gifts to wrap and I’m done (well other than cleaning house, laundry and prepping food for Xmas eve and xmas day).

Those bars look fantastic!

I’m visiting my family and friends in Florida right now, by way of California, and I’m loving every minute of it. :)

My running shoes are 10.5. It can make it difficult to find shoes in my size! Especially in sales.

No snow for me! It’s currently about 28C – I think that’s something like 82F. Gotta love the Aussie summer!

I live in Anchorage, snow here! Although not a lot :/ we need more! Haven’t done much today so I would say the highlight was going sledding at the park with my kids. :)

Reply

No snow here. It’s still pretty nice in KS. It’s supposed to get a bit cooler this week, but Christmas day is in the 50s. So strange.

Love the matching aprons!

Aw, your matching aprons are adorable. I live in NC and we will definitely not be getting snow for Christmas. Maybe one year the stars will align and we can have a white Christmas :)

So jealous of your trip to Arizona. I cannot wait to go there myself. I’m glad you are making the best of the situation for the holidays.

I have made your smores bars a few times and my friends love me for making them and then don’t love me when they eat too many. It’s such a yummy dessert.

Woke up to a warm day and then got about an hour of a wet snow that was very pretty but didn’t stick (and I am totally OK with that). Just enough snow for gift wrapping while listening to holiday music!

Now, I am ready for spring!

Those smores bars look amazing and I dont even really like smores!

The highlight of my day was finding a new healthy sandwich place literally a minute from the gym I went to today. It was a good thing bc I was about to pass out and still had to walk across the city. Maybe I will eat something more substantial next time.

It did some kind of weird rain/snow mix today but definitely didn’t last or stick. Don’t think we will have a white Christmas this year.

The highlight of my day was running a marathon with my friends. It is the 4th this year for me! Super excited because after my 1st one, which was only this year I swore I’d never do that again!! :) haha! My friend is having a birthday this week so she wanted to run a marathon with us to celebrate. Lots of fun memories made today!
No snow for us here. It was a beautiful 45 degree run!
That dessert looks amazing!!

I miss bangs friend too!

Reply

I wear a size 7 running shoe. I actually went to the podiatrist today and I am super excited that he is trying to work with me so that I can continue to run. No snow, it was like 60 degrees today…

Reply

No snow here in San Jose either. I think we might have to cancel our plane tickets for Christmas Day because we didn’t realize American Airlines (which then switches to the Canadian West Jet flight) doesn’t have room for our tiny dog in cabin. No Canadian Christmas for us :(

Reply

Love the matching aprons! Oh and your dessert looks amazing!

Reply

Highlight of my day: I finally finished packing!!!! (well 95% finished). I will be in full vacation mode as of Wednesday at 2pm! I hope you have fun on your trip!

My mom has had my cat for the last 6 months while I was living in Berkeley, and she came to pick my dog and me up today in Boston….so the highlight of my day was making it back to her house in NY and seeing my cat! Also, there’s a little bit of snow here, and there was a decent amount coming through the mountains in western Mass…it was cool to see after a year in California!

Mmm, those S’mores bars look amazing!

So many things I love about this post! Bangs Friend being back, your adorable matching aprons, the snow outside, and the s’mores bars :)

Reply

I don’t think we’ll be seeing snow here. Your is pretty though. I took a short run in the 48F weather in my size 5.5 running shoes. ;)

I don’t know what that soup is but it looks super good!

Those s’mores bars look amazing!!

My running shoes are a size 6. I’ve always kinda looked forward to sharing shoes with my daughter and I know she’s been eyeballing my heels since she was younger than Brooke. Alas, she’s only a size or two smaller and she’s only 8. I’m thinking we won’t be sharing heels.

The highlight of my day was making Christmas cookies with my daughter and talking about our favorite holiday traditions.

No snow unless you count a few patches in the woods or the grimy piles by the road. I’m hoping the forecast is wrong and we get a little on Christmas Eve.

Reply

I’m a 7 in running shoes! Almost always the perfect fit!

I STILL need to try the smores bars recipe!

Highlight of my day was getting off work an hour early and going to get a Christmas manicure! ;)

Haha, it was 65 in Texas today, so a white Christmas for me is a long shot. A BIG long shot.

Reply

I wear a 7.5 shoe.

There is always snow in Ottawa – all the time…it never goes away :-(

Reply

We definitely have snow here, and we’re supposed to be getting more on Christmas eve too!

No snow in Jersey. It’s actually supposed to rain on Christmas, ew.

Highlight of my day was that I had off work today :)

7.5 shoe, pretty consistent with any brand
No snow, was 75 degrees here in So Cal! ;)
Highlight of my day was dropping off a Christmas present to my running coach, I think I like giving presents even better then receiving them!

Zero snow. Hi Florida.

I can had summa dat s’more dessert????!

Reply

I wear 10.5 running shoes!

How on earth do you not eat all the delicious treats you make? I would not do well with that in the house…

Reply

You are so lucky to have snow over Christmas! I am praying that we get some on Christmas Eve (there is a 50/50 chance).

Running show is a 9.5 – a size up from my normal size. I like having a little space in my running shoe. Perhaps this is why I have never lost a toenail or had blisters.

Highlight of my day today was meeting with my coach for several hours to discuss Ironman training for 2015. It will be my FIRST!

Reply

SO funny that you made s’mores bars. I just bought ingredients to make these today…I cannot wait!

What size are your running shoes? 7.5, a full size larger than my regular shoes

What has been the highlight of your day? having dinner with my high school friends

Anyone else have snow where they live right now? None in Massachusetts!

Reply

We have a bit of snow on the ground, but it’s starting to melt. If you feel like taking a day trip up to Flagstaff while you’re in AZ, I’d love to show you around some of my favorite running trails!

I typically wear about an 8.5 in running shoes. Sometimes, I’ll go for a 9 if I want to keep my toenails as in tact as possible.

My parents rolled into town today! So happy to have time off work to spend with them! :)

Reply

Running shoes are 9.5 or 10 for me, depending on brand.

The highlight of my day was baking Christmas cookies – I’m all set, Christmas can get here now!

I wish we had snow, we’re supposed to get a ton of rain the next few days. No white Christmas for us.

Reply

So I got a Hershey’s bar for teaching primary yesterday and I immediately thought, “I have to look up HRG’s s’more bars!” It’s fate! Now I really need to make them!

Reply

Good thinking on the smores bars ;) I’m planning on making a couple of batches for work/my family’s Christmas party! My shoes are size 9! Which would be average if I weren’t 5’3.5 haha. The highlight of my day was when one of my regulars at work (I work at a Starbucks) brought in little gift bags for all of the baristas, and she had these beautiful bracelets made for all of us out of gift cards she collected. Super cool and thoughtful :) No snow yet, but fingers crossed!

Highlights of my day were ice skating with my kids on a local lake in the afternoon, and then spending the evening eating Chinese take-out and hanging out at my Grandma’s celebrating her 92nd birthday! Awesome day!

I wear a size 11 running shoe – it’s ridiculous! :)

So jealous of your snow! It’s supposed to be 60 degrees and pouring rain here in Boston.

I’m an 8 in running shoes. Probably an 8.5 now that I need orthotic inserts.

Highlight of my day so far is Caramel Apple Pie Dannon Greek yogurt. Best breakfast treat!

2nd Highlight of my day is seeing that S’mores Bar recipe – looks amazing!!

Awww Bangs Friend! Miss seeing you on the blog! Glad y’all got to hang!
My shoes vary b/w a 6 1/2 and a 7. And actually, I think one pair might even be a 7 1/2! And I have boots that are a 6, so my feet are clearly a mess.
NO SNOW in Ohio hallelujahthankyouJesuskeepitawayforthenext5months. I’m GREEEEEAT with the 50 degree weather we are having this week!

Reply

I wear a size 13 women’s (let’s face it, it’s easier to buy a guy’s shoe :-( and they don’t have nearly the pretty color options – it’s totally not fair). I have to go about 40 miles from my house to get to the snow at Mt. Rainier – there’s about two feet up there right now. Highlight of my day so far – coffee from Starbucks! but it is early yet so I’m sure there’ll be more highlights to come as the day progresses.

Reply

I wear a size 7.5 in regular shoes but go up to an 8.5 or 9 in running shoes. I am in Michigan and there is no snow here for the first time in the 3 years I’ve been coming here! Usually it snows the whole time and all sidewalks/driveways are like a ice rink.

Reply

I have to 1/2 size up in running shoes to a 7.5, I figured it out after months of sore toes!
My happy today is a friend gave me peanut butter cookies for Christmas and it snowed overnight, just enough to cover the ground without causing any trouble. Now the sun is shining!

Reply

Yummmm! I love all thing’s s’mores. I feel so hip and cool and “in-the-know” because I know who Bangs Friend is. Haha! :)

Merry Christmas!

awww so fun that Bangs friend is back with you!!! :)

I’m jealous we’re having rain and they’re predicting t-storms tomorrow. I live in NYC, that’s just wrong. On the other hand – no shoveling is a bonus.

I also wear a size 10. My tiny mother wears a 7 so I’d be out of luck there.

The highlight of yesterday was my run. I was a grump but the short run just perked me up.

Reply

Woooo! Size 10ers unite! My mom calls me big foot (she’s a size 8) highlight of my day so far was going to renew my library card and coming home with 6 books

Reply

It is 76 degrees in So Cal right now! Somehow it is feeling NOT like Christmas :)
I wear a 7 1/2, but 8 1/2 in running shoes

Highlight of my day was buying an Aqua Jogger so I can start running in the pool later today. (injured)
