I am always hunting for fun and creative activities for Brooke and I to do at home together especially during these cold winter months and the holidays.   We decided to try out Kiwi Crate and I am so happy that we did.

Kiwi Crate is a monthly subscription service that includes 2-3 hands-on projects for you to do with your kiddos.  Each crate involves art, science, games, imaginative play and more!  Subscriptions plans (you can cancel at anytime) start at just $16.95 per month and shipping is always free!

There is a new theme for each month and of course I loved this month’s holiday theme!

Each project comes with all of the creative materials that you need, a parent guide with detailed instructions and an Imagine! magazine with even more activities, stories, kid-friendly recipes and games!

Our crate included projects that were different from anything we have done before and Brooke loved both of them.  The Kiwi Crates are all ‘kid tested, expert approved.’  Each project is tested by a crew of kids and reviewed by child development experts to make sure they are engaging, fun and universally appealing!

We started off by building and decorating our Snowman Toss.

Brooke must have said the word, ‘Snowman’ at least 30 times as she was coloring.

Now that it is so cold outside, it is especially nice to have these fun activities delivered right to us.  The projects kept Brooke entertained for hours and it was something that we were able to do together.  I love that Kiwi Crate comes up with all of the ideas for these fun activities for us to do since I am lacking in the creativity department.

Brooke loved throwing the ball at the snowman to knock it over and we enjoyed watching her.

For our second project we made a Winter Luminaries!!!

We loved that they included glowing lights to put inside of Brooke’s winter scene creation:)   She has insisted that both projects be displayed in her room on her book case!

I needed a fun gift for my niece and nephew – this looks perfect!!!

How fun! I love seeing kids discover new things and joy on their face when they get to be creative.

That’s adorable. I feel like I’m a very indecisive person and that would solve my lack of creative skills ha. If I have children I think I’m going to look into that.

I would have loved this when my son was younger! We were always doing art projects…I started him really young with markers, crayons, paint, glue—everything! So fun. I even created and taught a preschool art program at his preschool because I felt they needed more art projects coming home lol. Love a good craft, always have and always will!

i was looking into this for my 4 and 6 year old and did a lot of research. I read about 50/50 on canceling your subscription at any time. These reviews were just from October, so I was hesitant to ask grandparents to get this as a gift. I’m going to test the boxes at Target first before I get them a monthly subscription that is a hassle. They do look and sound like the prefect gift and activity. I’m hopeful that the good reviews win out.

I am so glad they finally have options for older kids! I just ordered the Tinker Crate for my nephew. He is 11 and has a new baby brother, and I think this will keep him occupied and give his mother a few minutes of peace!

What a cute idea! I’m going to have to look into this! Any time my daughter sees a snowman, she says Olaf :-)

Her hair is so long!

Fun question, a friend and I are running a “Jingle all the Way’ 5k and there’s a costume contest. Any ideas? There’s Santa’s Helpers/elves, snow angels, gingerbread people? What else? We want to do something fun/funny.

What a cute idea! I think this will be great for my munchkin next year when he’s a little older.

Thank you for the heads up about Kiwi Crate. I did a similar thing with my daughter when she was little. Her favorite boxes were the holiday ones – Halloween and Christmas. My oldest grandson is 3 1/2 and I think he would love to have these to do with his mother. I am placing my order today.

Funny– I just ordered this 2 days ago for my niece and nephew for Christmas! I hope they love it.

Oh WOW! I seriously might do this for my nephew for Christmas! Even if I just have them sent to him for the 6 loooooong months of winter! This is awesome and he was JUST telling us that he wanted “science things” to do.

Is it just me or is Brooke looking more and more like Curly everyday?! Adorable!

What a cute idea! Looks like Brooke loved it!

I want to do this for my nieces this Christmas!

Great idea! I love how it gets both of you involved. If only I had some kiddos! :)

That last pic of your daughter is CRAZY CUTE!!!!

My son was given Kiwi crate as a Christmas gift two years ago, LOVED it, and has loved each project. They are super creative ideas and easy to assist as a parent.

Reply

This is super cute! I will keep it in mind for when my baby girl gets just a little bit older :)

Reply

That looks like way too much fun! My son is a little young for those crafts now, but that looks like a must for next Christmas! I’m always digging around for super-short-attention-span crafts (he’s 21 months!) and sometimes I just lack creativity…

Reply

Looks like I just found what I am getting my 7 year old cousin for Christmas! Thanks for the great idea. I am sure she will just love it!

Reply

Seriously…I know you probably hear this ALL THE TIME, but Brooke is just the most beautiful little thing I have ever seen. Xoxoxox

Reply

What a great idea!! Now I just need a child as an excuse for me to subscribe….

Reply

That glowing light creation is adorable! I’m not gonna lie, I kind of want to make one for myself!

Reply

Great activities for toddlers = tray tasking! Google it, for instruction books as well as a few activities. Always kept my daughter busy while I needed to get a few things done. Brooke will love the activities!

Reply

I love the idea behind the crate – it’s really fantastic! I love that it is customizable for all ages :) Unfortunately, my little brother is a little too old for me to do this with him (he is almost a teenager. Yikes!)

Reply

Thank you for sharing! This was the perfect gift idea for my 4 year old neice and 6 year old nephew!!

Reply

My baby is still too young for this, but I’m tempted to get it for myself! I’m finding all kinds of crafts to do this Christmas. I see that Target now carries a few Kiwi Crate boxes.

And I can’t get over how grown up Brooke looks in these pictures.
