Just a quick hello!

Coming at ya from the Provo airport (aka the tiniest airport you ever did see).  It takes approximately 3 minutes to get your boarding pass and then go through security at this airport.  I love it.

Brookers and I had a great morning together!  A few miles on the treadmill and some post-running selfies.

She really wanted to show you her eyeballs today.

A drive-thru lunch eaten in the parking lot.  I love the inventors of drive-thrus.  They have saved me from my hangry self many times.

Followed by eating frozen mango chunks with my sister.  She has been kind of boring this pregnancy with her cravings but she loves eating these lately.

And now I am typing this while eating beef jerky from the vending machine.  Keeping it classy.

I am ready for a California donut.  The lamest part about Utah is our lack of donut shops (they are few and far between) so I am stoked to go to some of my favorite California donut makers.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Janae!!! Eat all the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pie! :)

I just ate half a Dove milk chocolate bar. Not the healthiest snack, but it was pretty tasty!

No races here…also we have one mediocre donut shop where I live and also a very, very tiny airport. It used to have a 19 seat plane (it was scary), we have recently upgraded to a 50 seat plane. Big time! It is nice to have crazy fast security check points though!

Have fun in California!

Just recently tried donuts from Dunford Bakery and they are insanely good! Not sure if they’re a chain or only in west Jordan but if you’re ever in salt lake you have to try them! :)

My 12 year old daughter and I are running a 3.75 mile race together tomorrow morning. It’s an odd distance, but it’s our tradition. :)
I ate instant oatmeal at my desk for my snack this afternoon. Oatmeal is good any time of day. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving, Janae! I hope you have a great day tomorrow :)
My biggest snack today was popcorn while at the movies to see Mockingjay!
I’m doing a 5k tomorrow, but it’ll be pretty interesting after getting 14 inches of snow tonight.

I had wasabi peas today :) So yummy!

I’m running tomorrow but not in a race. The hubs and I are doing 5 easy miles. I figure we’ll dedicate each mile to someone that we are thankful for.

My weirdest craving while pregnant was McD’s double cheeseburgers. I hate McD’s and I don’t eat red meat hardly ever. Weird.

5K in Kansas City with my daughter who is 8 months pregnant with a little girl.

I had frozen mango chunks and bananas last night, which I normally don’t have but when I realized I was out of strawberries I went for the mangos. I had strange pregnancy cravings each time. The first was all savory stuff including egg salad and grilled cheese with tomatoes. All three times grilled cheese was involved somehow though!

Today I had pistachios and kale chips for snacks. Now I’m watching Willy Wonka and want some candy…

I was signed up for a 5 miler for tomorrow morning, but we got a bunch of snow/slush and I’m not keen on waking up extra early to shovel, drive there and then run/slide/freeze for 5 miles. Super lame.

Snacks: 2 hard boiled eggs! Theyre my go to snacks.

I’m doing the Zoom Turkey Trot half marathon tomorrow at Hellyer park in San Jose. They also have a 5 & 10K. It’s pretty laid back, and a fun way to torch a bunch of calories!

I had Cool Whip with berries.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

I had movie theater popcorn as an afternoon snack – finally saw Mockingjay!

No racing tomorrow, but I will be doing a track workout. Little over a week now until CIM!

Reply

Happy Thanksgiving! I will be doing an unofficial Turkey Trot (friends all gather at the same time/place — last year it was 50 people!) that will be a hilly 6 miles.

With my oldest daughter, I HAD to have a Gravenstein apple EVERY day. No other variety of apple or fruit would do. I also went through a week of strictly spinach and steak. (Like, maybe I needed iron!?) Also, sun dried tomatoes made me nauseous.

Today I have been snacking on homemade sweet potato chips that I’m trying to get right for an appetizer for tomorrow. I’ve experimented with short/hot (10min/450), longer/less hot — olive oil, coconut oil, and even an egg white coating. So far, I haven’t achieved the desired level of crispness. Anyone have any suggestions. My latest attempt is 275* for 2 hours. I flipped ’em at an hour and they’re not even close to crisp.

Reply

I’m doing a 10K Turkey Trot tomorrow with my husband and my girls (age 15 an 17) are doing the 5K – should be fun! While pregnant I didn’t really have any major cravings with them – maybe more starch then usual – but I and a HUGE aversion to green peppers at the time!

My go to snack lately is cucumbers with hummus and sricha – I think I originally read about it at runeatrepeat.com – it is delish!

As far as donut shops – there is a cute, independently owned one by us and in addition to regular donuts they make tofu donuts! I know it sounds gross but they are really , really good! We are plant based but indulge in these once in awhile although I’m sure they are not totally vegan ;-)

ugh – excuse all my typos above!

Reply

Peanut butter pretzels are the best snacks ever and all my homemade muffins of course!

Reply

Today I rediscovered hummus. Don’t know why I haven’t been eating it lately. I usually eat it with carrots but today I ate it with those pretzel thins.. SO GOOD! Have a safe trip!!

I bet you the Rock Sound airport in Eleuthera, The Bahamas (where I live) is smaller than any airport you’ve ever seen. They just got a metal detector a couple months ago… before it was get your ticket and then walk out onto the tarmac and get onto the airplane :)

Reply

come to Chicago! I just moved here 3 weeks ago and there are donuts galore. I have one more place on my list and then I can stop eating donuts 3 times a week :)

Reply

Hope you have a great holiday with your friends and fam out there in CA! Enjoy the warmer weather for your runs :)

Tomorrow I’ve got 5 miles on the schedule. I’ll be getting up super early to get the miles in so I most definitely plan on napping at some point after I’ve had my fill of delicious food!!

Where do you get such a great salad from a DRIVE THRU??

Reply

It is called kneaders and it is amazing!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I craved junk food allllll the time, which doesn’t sound that weird, but I’m normally the person that never eats junk food! The WEIRDEST thing that I craved was an appetizer my friend always makes, a dill pickle and cream cheese wrapped in prosciutto. Since I couldn’t have the prosciutto, I just ate pickles with cream cheese!

Reply

I had an apple, some cutie oranges and a cookie for snacks today. Clearly I need to work on my sugar intake! I hope things go well dropping of Brooke with her dad for the holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope you have a great time in Cali!

Happy Thanksgiving Janae and Brooke and safe travels!

When I was pregnant I craved fishsticks, apples and Wunderbar candy bars!

Reply

Well, so far, I’ve been craving mixed frozen veggies woth a bit of
Butter. Of course, I think everyone likes butter. But now, I really want a doughnut!!

Reply

Happy Thanksgiving!

Reply

My pregnancy cravings were the complete opposite of my normal sweet tooth – everything savory – lots of sandwiches, pizza all of the time and boxes of cheez-its at one point too.

Reply

I craved mustard and salt together! I would pour all of the salt and pretzel crumbs from the bottom of the pretzel bag into a big pile of mustard and eat it with a spoon. It sounds so disgusting now, but I loved it!

Reply

Fun fact for you: In N Out invented drive thrus! As if I needed another reason to love In N Out, right?!

Reply

Mmm, I hope you had lots of great doughnuts!
