Endorphins just do that for me.

A very low quality picture but the only picture I took from our run yesterday.  I am very grateful that Josse and I were on the same page yesterday.  That page was—>  holy cow, I feel tired (I think all of the Halloween candy caused that feeling) and cranky.  Luckily, a good run together turned our moods right around…  endorphins tend to do that for me.

We stopped at 11.9 miles because we were running a little late getting back home and stopped right when we got to our cars.  I ended the week with 43.4 miles.

Did my running homework of foam rolling when I got home.  These hamstrings of mine sure love to be tight.

Gotta get in as many pony rides as possible before winter hits (PS it is supposed to snow here this morning!!)

Last night Brooke got to spend some time with her cousins and I went out and had this incredible salmon.  Every bite was so perfect.

And then I put my sweet air hockey skills to use.  I have spent way too many hours practicing this game, I don’t know whether I should be proud or embarrassed.

And a mini Sonic M&M Blast to really make it a good weekend.

GOOD LUCK to everyone running NYCM this morning.  I can’t wait to read all about it.

This is pretty awesome:

I can knit! …but only scarves and very small blankets haha

Today I’m going to run, bake and paint my nails :)

Reply

I can’t knit, or do anything crafty.

I have never been to Sonic, there is one close too, I have no idea what to order.

I hope you have a great birthday :)

I have knit a scarf.
Running a 5k with my mom this morning, both wearing pink and blue. Just calling this the 32 week run with the future runner.

I cannot knit, BUT I CAN crochet! (not very well…)

Sunday = Work, then Chinese chop-chop house later!!

I’m going to be one of the million spectators at the NYC marathon!!! Cheering on about 10-15 friends and 50,000 strangers :)

I am so excited. I’ll be at mile 22.5. I’m already crying. I ran it twice and it is an experience like no other. :)

I am so excited to watch the NYC marathon this morning!

I love your flowered blue coat, so cute!

Reply

I wish I could hold myself to the mini size. LOL. Happy Sunday!

Reply

That is crazy he will knit a scarf while running the marathon!
I ran 10 miles last week — just coming back from injury and taking it really slow.
Every mile feels like a blessing.

Reply

I can’t knit let alone knit while running lol. I think I ran around the same amount of miles as you did this week! I didn’t fully calculate but a few over 40 sounds about right.

Reply

I love your sweater! Where is it from?

Reply

My Gran taught me how to knit, but all I can make is a scarf.
Last week’s mileage: 74 miles
Sunday plans: driving home from our weekend trip…can’t wait to see my puppies!

Reply

74 miles?!!! That’s awesome!!!!

Reply

Thanks!!

Woah, knitting and running – that guy is a beast! As for my Sunay, I’m going to hit up BODYPUMP and then we’re driving down to the Everglades to do some exploring… And hopefully avoid getting eaten by alligators ;)

Reply

I have attempted to crochet…not well but it’s the thought that counts right? I’ve done one scarf and that scarf had some curves :) I started another one so I hope it will someday get finished.

Reply

I’m watching NYC as I speak… I mean write! It looks cold and windy there – not jealous at all! haha

I know how to knit – my grandma taught me when I was in middle school! :)

Reply

Yum! Salmon is delicious! I have been craving it lately!

My Sunday will be filled with the usual – church, choir practice (I’m the pianist) and hanging out with my awesome family. It’s a great day.

Reply

The weather here was amazing this weekend and I got in what can only be described as a perfect 10-miler. Also, I compared yesterday’s run to a 10-miler I did this same time last year and it was almost 30 minutes faster this year!!!!

Lately my hammies have been tight too. If you know of any secret ways to fix them please let me know asap :)

Reply

i always have a knitting project going! do at least a row a night. relaxing and therapeutic!

Reply

Miles last week: 9, all done yesterday! I can crochet (badly) but I’d like to learn how to knit! Sunday will be spent eating pancakes, going to grandma’s for dinner, and relaxing!

Reply

I actually don’t knit, although I know how, but I do crochet on occasion (mostly teddy bears for the constant crop of babies in my life). I love the marathoning knitter, though. I wonder how he came up with that?
Looking forward to following NYCM sporadically this morning.

Your first snow is probably coming from my way, I live in Lake Tahoe area and we got a couple inches Friday/Saturday. Enjoy!
My Sunday will consist of a small taper run and wonderful family time!

Reply

Don’t know how to knit, but I want to learn someday – it’s on the very long list of things to do…

Didn’t get in many runs this past week, was crazy busy with work & costume making – the whole family dressed up as Frozen: my oldest was Elsa, my two year old was Anna, my husband was Kristoff, I got to be Olaf, and we even had antlers on the dog for Sven :)

Today we are celebrating my daughters 5th birthday with a Frozen Bowling Party :)

Reply

Cannot knit, I’m not crafty at all.

Last weeks mileage = 41 miles, taper mode for me Savannah Rock n Roll Marathon next Saturday!

Watching the NYC marathon right now, chili in the crockpot, slow 8 mile run later today. Perfect Sunday!

Reply

Knitting and running sounds like a dangerous idea to me! Yikes!

Reply

I love knitting but it’s something that I hardly do! It just takes so long! Can’t believe that guy can knit and run a marathon, crazy! Guess it’s one way to take your mind off the pain…
Today I’m catching up with work, blog stuff and I’ve got a gym session planned for the evening :)

Reply

I just finished watching the marathon! It’s so exciting to do! Poor Kara, she looked devastated!!!

Reply

I ran zero miles. :( I broke my shoulder mountain biking and went from 44 ish glorious weekly miles, swimming, road biking, working as a labor nurse and caring for my super awesome super handicapped 11 year old to being sidelined in all parts of my life. First injury of my life. Tougher than I ever imagined. I’ve been told it will be a character test…so I I’m trying not to have crappy character. Still hoping to run my first boston in april and become an ironman in september. And hug my son with two arms.

Reply

I am truly so so sorry Megan. This breaks my heart. Please keep me updated with how you are doing. Thinking about you!

Reply

Just spent the morning watching the oh so inspiring NYC marathoners with some hot cocoa in hand!

Reply

It snowed here last night for trick or treat. It was a bit chilly but also magical. Time for hot chocolate and Holiday tunes! 11.8 miles last week. About what I can seem to fit in these last few weeks. No knitting here.

Reply

Holy moly that salmon looks delish!

My Sunday was filled with a cold and windy long run! But now I get to go have a sports massage, I definitely feel like my tired and cold muscles have earned it!

Reply

Is your sports massage deep tissue, or light?

Reply

Deep tissue for me! It’s my best recovery trick!

Reply

I used to knit when I was a kid, there is no possible way I could knit while running.

Your salmon looks sooo good!

We have lots of snow here, and wind so I think I will be running on the treadmill today.

Reply

I just wanted to let you know that I made your cream cheese chicken chili for a halloween party this weekend and it was a hit! Can’t wait to make it again! :)

Reply

I did 40 miles- a week of tapering and then a half marathon this morning (well, actually like 4 days of tapering since that’s when I decided to do the race!)

Reply

I ran 52 miles last week, and my Sunday is filled with lots and lots of rest! I watched the marathon on my laptop and was happy to not be running today with all that wind! But those elite runners sure do inspire me!!

Reply

Oh gosh…I can crochet…but not while running! Does anyone know if he’s doing it for a charity or a cause? I’d buy a marathon knit hat!

I used to kind of know how to knit, but it’s been years. And I also always got my Mum to start up the first row, and close off the last. I’m not sure if I can really say that I know how to knit after reading that :P

Last week I did 25km, and that was a big week for me lately! I’m working my way back :)

My Sunday night was Gilmore Girls, knee strengthening exercises, big salad, and catching the Sunday night movie – Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Pretty nice :)

Reply

Ah I have been wanting salmon for a week now–that looks delicious! :) Sunday has been mostly filled with rest for me after my half yesterday. Now I’m in my office doing a bit of work to get ready for the start of the week tomorrow.

Reply

I don’t know how to knit :( My grandma tried to teach me when I was a little girl during my two week visits in the summer, but I never continued it. My mileage is embarrassingly low compared to yours and some of the other numbers I’ve seen posted so I’ll spare you those details. I did my LR with my running group today and hung out with my brother and his family. I have the Ft Lauderdale half marathon next weekend so I’m looking forward to that :)

Reply

I can knit and crochet. I’m not very good at following patterns though, that takes too much focus.

I ended up with 37.6 miles for the week, which is high for me.

My Sunday was a very windy run, watching the NYC marathon (the elites are amazing!) and cleaning my house.

Reply

No knitting for me. I tried. Couldn’t still long enough to even make a coaster.

Very few miles during the week + 26.2 today…

Ran the NYC marathon and PR’d…and BQ’d! It was a good day :)

Thanks for being such an inpiration!

Reply

Huge congrats on your BQ Alexis!

Reply

I ran my very first half marathon today with my BFF. She is who inspired me to start running and was with me every step of the way. It was windy and lots of hills and bridges but we powered through and I am so proud :)

Reply

I can knit! I made a pair of toddler leg warmers last week as part of a Halloween costume. Favorite thing to knit is baby sweaters and grown up socks.

Reply

The knitting runner is my brother in law! Haha and he is legit! So good to see that word is spreading about him so awareness of Alzheimer’s is spreading too!

Reply

I ran 26.6 miles this past week – just about to hit the peak of my half marathon training.

My Sunday was filled with running (of course!), Pure Barre, food and playing with my kiddos!

Reply

LOVE air hockey!!! This week I ran zero miles :( but it was actually a needed rest after my 80 mile relay.

Reply

Sunday was filled with church, hockey, and hosting family dinner. And sadly, that was a relaxing day I was looking forward to.

Reply

I wonder if that guy managed to knit his scarf or not!

Reply

Sunday was great! Church, brunch, gym, relax… until the chicken we were roasting for dinner insisted on setting off the smoke detector about 10x. I’m not sure why and it turned out delicious. It just didn’t make for a relaxing evening, between the noise and opening all the windows to the sleet!

They put an air hockey table in the kids’ fitness center at my gym. After they do their little strength and cardio circuit (think mini curves!) the kids can play air hockey. I love it!

Reply

One time, I tried to knit a scarf, but it ended up being a really ugly potholder. Sunday was my 12miler, now I taper for my half on the 16th!

Air hockey=awesome.

What app do you use to track your miles and average pace?!
