Maybe I should do a triathlon and aqua jog during the swimming portion.

Too bad that triathlons involve swimming because I really like the other two parts of the whole ordeal.  Or maybe I could just pool run with my super attractive aqua jogging belt during the swimming portion of the tri.

I taught spin this morning but first I ran a few miles on the treadmill.  I had to change in between because I can only wear shorts when I run on a treadmill because I overheat but I need capris when on the spin bike.  Stressful right?;)

The best part of the entire day was that my sister showed up to my class.  She hasn’t been to one of my classes in 5 years (I think I must have scared her off) so having her there made me really happy.

IMG 9984

I stole Megan and Sara during their lunch breaks.

IMG 9997

Still kicking myself for not getting mango on top of my chicken salad.

IMG 9986

As you can tell, Brooke is really into cheese lately.  A cheese quesadilla wasn’t enough and she needed to top it with some more.

IMG 9988

Megan has been around Brooke a lot lately and she told me that she noticed Brooke does not walk.  She only runs to get from point A to point B.  Walking isn’t part of her vocabulary anymore.

IMG 9994

Tackling me is also a big part of her workout.

IMG 0007

Brooke and I just happened to be right outside the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory so we shared a chocolate covered oreo to complete our outing.

IMG 0013

Even though I don’t live with my mom anymore I do make it a point to still come over as much as possible and eat all of her grapes just like I did when I lived here.  I’m sure she loves that.

I’m conducting a very important survey and I need to know what your ALL-TIME favorite fruit is!

-Other fruits come and go but I think that grapes will always be my favorite.

Who has done a tri before?  Which ones?  Who wants to start doing triathlons?

Who else is pregnant right now?

-My sister is due in the beginning of February!

Are you an oreo fan?

I don’t ever buy oreos but I like them when they are around. Someone in my office should read this and bring some oreos to work tomorrow.

I’ve never done a tri and I go back and forth between wanting to do one and not wanting to do one. I love marathons so I think I’ll stick with that for awhile.

I think I’d have to say strawberries are my favorite fruit. I pretty much love all fruit though, so depending on the day that answer could change.

That salad looks amazing. So jealous. I love all the pics of you and Brooke. You should put slide shows together with all your photos. (not necessarily to show on the blog, but I’m sure everyone on here would love it too!)

Oreos are the best things EVERRR. Like, of all time. I survived on them as a child, and to this day, I could polish off an entire box in no time. Which is exactly why I hardly ever buy them ;)

Your sister’s bump is PRESH. She’s hardcore for going to a spin class while pregnant! Spin is the hardest workout I’ve ever had!

Favorite fruit? Oreo’s. Oh wait, I mean strawberries.

Reply

My favourite fruit is strawberries and mangos, I really can’t decide between the two, they’re both delicious!! I’m a February baby! My 18th birthday is on Friday the 13th this year, I don’t believe in all the superstitious stuff though :) I really don’t like Oreos, I’ve tried by best to get on the Oreo loving train but I would much rather have a chocolate chip cookie :)

Reply

Ahhhhhhh we have the same birthday!!!!!!

Reply

My husband’s birthday is February 13th, too! And he thinks that the 13th is lucky- he is not at all superstitious!

Reply

Ahh I thought we had the same birthday!!!! We can be birthday buddies :) Leanne, I had my 13th on the 13th and it wasn’t a good day at all but I try not to believe in all that nonsense!!

Reply

I would love to do a tri but like you, swimming is not my strongest area of fitness :(

Your sister is adorable! I’m due in March and still kicking butt at the gym. Some days are hard and have to tone it down but I feel better when I go :)

LOVE OREO’S!

Reply

The best fruit is a Fuji Apple because it’s cool, crisp and sweet! Cantaloup is also the best. They are tied in my book!

I would love to do triathlons if they didn’t involve biking since I have poor balance. Maybe we could team up and I could do the swimming and you could do the biking and we could share the running? Or you could do the running since you’re a lot faster than me :)

Reply

Fave fruit: strawberries
Never done a tri but in awe of those who do!
I love Oreos!

Reply

I’ve done a few duathlons- run, bike, run. I’m not a huge fan of swimming and being kicked in the face!
I love golden double stuffed Oreos and lemon Oreos.

Reply

The best fruit? Can I have two??? Mine are raspberries and gala apples. So good and I’m not a big Oreo fan.

Reply

My favorite fruit is pineapple. Even when it’s too tart its so good.

I love triathlons. Training for three sports at once keeps me from getting bored or burned out. Two triathlon bonuses – when tri season is over, all the cross training has kept me in good condition for fall running races; and competing in only one sport in the off season feels like a vacation by comparison. (You mean I only need one set of clothes and one pair of shoes? That’s an extra hour of sleep!)

Reply

I just recently started following your blog and LOVE IT! Brooke is adorable! I feel like she and my little girl (who turned 2 today–how do they grow up so fast???) would be great little buddies! :)

I’m 35 weeks pregnant right now and I’ve been able to stay active with a mix of running and CrossFit. I’ve never tried a spin class, but have heard they’re hardcore, in an awesome way. I need to check it out some day.

I’m totally obsessed with apples these days…apples with peanut butter, to be more specific. I love grapes too, fresh pineapple, strawberries..the list goes on and on.

Reply

I have HIGH hopes to do my first Tri in September! This is after I tackle my first half in April :) Fingers crossed!

Reply

I think Bartlett pears are my favorite. Boring, but so delicious!

I’ve done a few triathlons – I can’t say I’m any good at them, but they sure are fun!

Reply

I love Oreos, especially double stuffed ones. I cannot buy them because I will devour an entire package.

I wish I could do tris. I stink at swimming – can barely put my face in the water. My son is on a triathlon team though so I live vicariously through him.

No more babies for me but I am around pregnant women all the time at work. I love their bellies, especially when I’m listening for baby’s heart and I feel him/her moving around. I pretty much have the best job ever.

Reply

Oreos are delicious but I tend not to keep them in the house because I will inhale them like a ravenous lion. We make Oreo fudge for Christmas and it’s a family favorite. I find myself sneaking little pieces every time I pass the dish.

Watermelon is my favorite fruit but it’s really hard to get a good one up here in Idaho. There is a very short time to nab a perfectly ripe one in the market. My second is a hybrid melon of cantelope and honeydew.

I thought about doing a Tri because I’m an avid cyclist + runner BUT swimming is not my thing. I could improve upon it but right now I am venturing into the ultra world and training for my first 50 miler.

Reply

I love pineapples! I can eat them every day. I have loved them since I was a little girl :)
Love oreos also…not pregnant (or planning to be). I’ve never done a tri because I’m not a fan of the biking portion. If there was an option where I could swim for you and you could bike for me that would be great!

Reply

Fav fruit: definitely raspberries. Love them.
Oreos? Not so much–unless copious amounts are mixed in with ice cream. Then I’m in heaven. :)

Reply

We are the same in that we are not into swimming but we both love running and biking! I am a HORRIBLE swimmer (seriously my husband thinks I will drown someday) but I would LOVE to do a triathlon someday. I was just talking to a friend who did a triathlon and she said the swimming really wasn’t a huge deal. She was a doggie paddler before and hated swimming but she said the swimming was the easiest part in the end! I think I will start with a biathlon and work on my swimming before doing a tri.

All time favorite fruit: PEACHES and nectarines. I get a little too excited every August/September about peach season and buy all the peaches I set my eyes on.

I’m so excited for your sister! My son was born at the beginning of February this year. Luckily it was a rainy winter instead of snowy: he was born on a very rainy day in February! Weird!

LOVE Oreos but I try to limit my intake to only on vacation. Eating them with peanut butter is the best.

Reply

Favorite fruit of all time: perfectly ripe in-season peaches (a perfect piece of watermelon would be a close second but I’m VEEEERY picky about my watermelon and only seem to get one or two GOOD ones every year) =)
Tri: never done one
Pregnant: just got done! =) Had my 6th baby (and 5th girl!!) on Oct 4th
Oreos: YES. but they must be double stuffed. I like the regular or the mint but I’ve never tried the other flavors. That will be on my to-do list. =)

Reply

I eat bananas every day, but I never easy them by themselves. I love them in oatmeal, smoothies, cereal, or with but butter. I also really enjoy the convenience and juicy crunch of an apple. I would have to say my all time favorite fruit would be pineapple. I don’t eat it a lot so it is always a big treat -yum!

Reply

You should do a duathlon (run -> bike -> run).

I did my first half ironman in September and have done several sprints, olys, and other distances. I’m happy to help you out with any advice you need.

Reply

I used to love a stack of oreos mashed into milk. Especially the doubled stuffed ones. Remember the Big Stuff Oreo’s? I think they were only out for a limited time.

Reply

Grapes hurt my stomach! Bananas and applesauce are favorites of mine.

Have you tried the birthday cake oreos? I tried one last winter and it was kind of tasty :) I used to love the original flavor ones but haven’t had one in quite some time. Enjoy!

Reply

Blackberries and pineapple are my all-time favorites! Right now, I’m loving bananas because they’re super cheap on a college student budget (or I can snag them from the dining hall!) and I can top them with peanut butter for a really quick snack.

Reply

Pineapple might be my favorite, but I definitely eat bananas and strawberries the most. And apples, they seem to work their way into everything.

Reply

Love those polka dot capris – where are they from?!

Reply

Thank you! I got them at Utah Run and they are Nikes!

Reply

My fave fruit – um, that’s a toughie :( I’d probably have to go with frozen bananas or blueberries :)

Reply

Your sister is so tiny! Too cute!

Too hard to pick one fruit! Apples, strawberries, raspberries, grapefruit, mango…..

Oreos yes! But I would not have been able to share that Oreo! One for each!

Reply

I’m due tomorrow, although looks like baby will hold on a bit longer! Last spin class today before the birth!!

Reply

That is so so exciting Jane! Hope that little one of yours comes soon and great job on going to spin!

Reply

I love Oreos! I think vanilla oreos are my favorite but chocolate covered it definitely high up there.
Avocados are technically fruit, so that’s definitely my favorite :) I also like gala apples (especially with peanut butter) and pears a whole lot.

Reply

Love the idea of doing the swim part of a tri in an aqua jogger…my swimming is super terrible.

All time favorite fruit is mango.even if it is ridiculously hard to get off the seed.

I did a tri that was a two person/team event thing. And the swim was replaced with canoeing. Both partners completed each part together. I did it with my sister!

Two words. Neapolitan Oreos.

Reply

I love the idea of the tri you did. Where is it/what’s it called?

Reply

Its in denton tx. Its called the Paddle, Pound, and Pedal!

Reply

Thanks!

Reply

My favorite fruit if someone else prepares it for me is fresh pineapple. Otherwise day in and day out, I’m a fuji apple girl. I also love cantaloupe. And frozen bananas with chocolate. And raspberries…and…. :)

Never tried a tri. I’m a bit claustrophobic on the swim portion. Not a good enough swimmer and the second someone touched me while I was swimming I’d probably drown. I really like your aqua running belt idea though….hmmmm. You might be on to something.

I love Oreos. Way too much to have them anywhere near me.

Reply

I want to try a triathlon next year but it kind of terrifies me! Virtual training partner? ;)

Reply

Triathlons are super fun and addicting. I just started doing triathlon this past year and completed two half Ironmans. Next year I plan to do a full Ironman. I am a runner at heart, but love the challenge of adding the swim and bike. You should do a duathlon!

I love the crème filling of Oreos. Double stuf is where it’s at.

Reply

Favourite fruit is a really hard question! I think I will have to go with rockmelon / canteloupe … although I also have a hard time resisting mango, strawberries and passionfruit.

I’m not a big oreo fan. Maybe I wouldn’t be allowed to live in the US. But I do love an original Tim Tam!

Reply

I’m sure with my third (!!!) Baby in 13 days…she’s welcome to come late ;) I used to love Oreos before I found out I had celiac disease and all the delicious food was taken from my life. Pears are favorite, I am positive if I make it to heaven I’ll be greeted with a hug and a some pears! I love those poka dot capris!!

Reply

Due not sure…

Reply

I’ve considered doing a triathlon before for about 1.5 seconds before accepting the fact that running is the only sport I like!

Mangoes are my favorite fruit, closely followed by raspberries and grapes. Apples too :) Basically all fruits are game!

Reply

Watermelon is my favorite fruit, so refreshing and delicious! Never done a tri but thinking I may one day……just gotta get through my first marathon in 9
Days!!! :) love chocolate covered Oreos!! By themselves they are ok but with any kind of choc on top they rule!!

I love it! Thank you so much!

Reply

Watermelon is my favorite…especially on top of vanilla ice cream :)

I’m not a huge Oreo fan, but I always have a package in my cupboard for my vegan friend.

I have been a runner since I was a kid, but I started doing triathlons a few years ago. It is so much fun to have something different. I have done sprints, olympics and half iron distances. Next year is a full!

Reply

I did my 1st Ironman less than 4 weeks ago! Hands down one of the best days of my life! I cannot say anything but amazing things about the whole experience! A year of training all for 1 day! On the verge of signing up for another. Don’t worry about the swim…all you are doing is swimming to get to your bike….then you are just biking to get to your sneakers and then in my case I just ran 20 miles to warm up for a 10k!!

Reply

LOVE it! That’s such a cute way to look at it! I’ve done one triathlon and absolutely LOVED it…ready for more! Congrats on your Ironman!!!

Reply

Has to be pineapple! Although grapes are great too ;-)
Grape-t?

Reply

I did a triathlon sprint a few years ago. I was totally stressed about the swimming part. Race day I was super focused and swimming along. I noticed the guy next to me was totally upright . . . yep, I could touch the entire swim portion.

Favorite fruit has to be blueberries.

Reply

Fave fruit…banana!!!!…then Fuji apples, blueberries, grapes strawberries, pineapple…oh hoe I love fruit :).
Oreos…I never buy them to just eat, but I LOVE cookies n cream ice cream and dirt cake!!!

Reply

I am due at the end of January also with a boy. It will be fun to follow your sister’s pregnancy and they baby since they will be so close in age. My other son is just a few month older than Brooke.

Reply

I love, love, love pineapple. Then pretty much any berry.

I also love Oreos.

Reply

Mandarin oranges! Because I love oranges but hate when they get my hands all sticky and mandarins seem to avoid that. Also they bring back random Christmas memories (from when we could only get them seasonally as a kid. Now they seem to be available almost year-round).

Oreos aren’t really my cookie of choice. Unless they are dunked in lots of milk or ground up in ice cream.

Reply

McIntosh apples. Whenever they come in season, I buy them by the sackful (think 30 or more apples). And then I don’t share.

Reply

Do you find that you run better in the morning, early afternoon, late afternoon, or evenings? For me, It’s usually in the evenings when I feel the most alert which is bad because it’s sleepy time, but I find it most productive if I run in the morning, albeit my times aren’t as good.

Reply

My sister in law is pregnant and due in April! I am so excited because it will be the first baby in our family!
Not sure if I have a favorite fruit but I eat bananas every day and usually gala apples as well!

Reply

I have never been a fan of Oreos but last fall they came out with the Candy Corn Oreos and I ate about 10 packages in 2 weeks. Sadly, I can’t find them this fall.
I love that Brooke runs everywhere – she learned from the best!

Reply

Maybe you should check out a duathlon? No swimming involved :)

Reply

Not pregnant right now, but it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world! We re newly married, and don’t plan on getting pregnant for at least another two years or so!

Reply

Favorite fruit is either mango or peaches! I love pineapples too. And grapes. And fruit. I just love fruit.

I’ve been running for 14 years but I found triathlon a few years back now and I’ll never just be a single sport gal ever again. It’s such a thrill and all that cross training is incredible. I’m actually a USAT certified tri coach, so feel free to hit me up if you get really curious enough to seriously consider one!

Reply

I feel ya on the triathlon. It is on my bucket list but I can barely swim, even after years of lessons. I could rock the run and bike part but the swim would be awful especially in a lake with tons of other swimmers. Someday I want to take lessons again and get it done!

Reply

Apples and watermelon are my favorites, but in all honesty I’ve never met a fruit I didn’t like.

Reply

I agree with you-other fruits come and go but the red grape will always be my favorite.
I’ve done two tri’s (well the same one twice) it’s a unique one, instead of the swimming you kayak or canoe. 6 mile paddle, 5.5 mile run, 18 mile ride through beautiful Ohio farm country.
I’m so not pregnant-way past that point.
I love oreos! We are really into the mini ones right now.

Reply

Watermelon and apples, definitely. I eat them year round (bad, I know) but when one of them isn’t technically in season, the other one is!

Reply

Pineapple!

I love Oreos. Someone told me they came out with Reese’s PB Oreos and I need to never buy those!!

Reply

Gosh, that’s a really tough question– all time favorite fruit? I think I’d have to say strawberries. I can get tired of every other fruit… but strawberries are always amazing!

Reply

I’ve done tri’s and I love them! I’m currently only swimming because it’s the only thing that feels good while pregnant! But 37 weeks and baby is breach :( hoping this one turns soon. (This is baby #3 and starting out as a real troublemaker!)
Favorite fruit… Probably apples

Reply

1st day of 4 weeks in crutches for proximal hamstring surgery…total misery but maybe its my incentive to get in the pool….fingers crossed by thanksgiving or soon after!

Reply

My favorite fruit is berries. All the berries. Mostly raspberries…and strawberries…and all the other berries…

We have had a ton of Oreos in our house lately for some reason. We really should cut back, or I’m going to have to increase my weekly mileage to make up for their presence. ;)

Reply

I have always said I want to do a triathlon, but I just can’t get the motivation to do it! Plus the swim terrifies me, and I don’t want someone kicking and breaking my nose.

Double stuffed oreos might happen after my half on Sunday. Like the whole bag.

Reply

Watermelon is by far my favorite fruit. I have done one triathlon…almost drowned! I just found a tri that you can kayak instead of swim. I think I am going to sign up for that next year.

Reply

I soooooo want to train for a triathlon!!! I bought a brand new road bike when I graduated nursing school, and signed up with team in training to do a tri – however, I underestimated how crazy my shifts would be working in Peds ICU, and the group was an hour away from my house. I wasn’t able to train consistantly and get the time off for the race, so I didn’t do it, and my bike has been hanging I’m my garage ever since… That was TWELVE years ago!!!! It’s still on my to-do list :)

Favorite fruit: strawberries!
Oreos: in my fantasy world where I can eat then without gaining weight and getting a belly ache – yes!!! In real life – rarely

STRAWBERRIES FOREVER.

Reply

I did my first mara last year and you wished me luck ;-)
Anyway, I couldn’t swim and after I did the autumn mara I entered a full Ironman. Xmas 2013 I taught myself front crawl /freestyle from you tube vids like swim smooth and total immersion. People thought I wouldn’t be able to do it.
I did a sprint, olympic, half IM in the build up, and then nailed the ironman in 13 hours dead. So you can swim, it’s just technique and skill ;-)

Reply

I did a sprint distance triathlon this year and it was AWESOME. Super fun new challenge, since I didn’t swim or bike before training for it. And then I kind of fell in love with it…

Reply

Those salads look amazing! Where did you get them? I’m moving back to UT soon and need to figure out my take-out line up :)

Blueberries are my all-time favorite. My parents have a blueberry patch at their house, so I grew up eating them right off the bush- sooo good. I’ve never really been into oreos (except as an ice cream add-in), but I did go through a phase where I’d reward myself after races with mint Newman-O’s.

Reply

Blackberries are my absolute fave! My grandfather had blackberry bushes and he would bring us baskets of berries.
Oreos- take em or leave em.

Reply

fave fruit: peaches. I’m from georgia, so duh!

I did one sprint tri in north ga a few years back. It was SO FUN! I actually like
swimming! It was my favorite part!

My sister is pregnant now too! She’s due in November.

and a big YES to oreos.

Reply

Pineapple is my favorite! I eat it by itself and on sandwiches, pizzas, desserts, everything!

I don’t think I could do a tri bc I am not a swimmer!

I love oreos. With milk. Especially the holiday ones!

Reply

STRAWBERRIES FOREVERRRRRRR!

Reply

Peaches forever!!!! (but only good, in season ones)
I did an indoor tri last year and it was a blast. I loved doing all 3 parts, but I am terrified of doing an open water swim. Too many people kicking at my head!

Reply

Love the cute pic of you and Brooke :)

I loooove peaches (even better if they are Brigham City peaches) and raspberries!! Wish they weren’t so expensive. I also cannot resist Oreos.

Reply

My all time favorite fruit is raspberries! I can eat them for days. I just wish they weren’t so expensive!

I’m obsessed with oreos since they are one of the only dairy-free cookies out there that I can find. My favorite kind is double stuff! Yum!

Also, where did you get your capris? I’m in the market for some new cute ones and I love yours!!!

Reply

Strawberries will always be my favorite. Due 2/22, but my bump is not as cute nor as small as your sisters;o)

Reply

I love grapes too, but they have to have a good crunch! All time favorite? Fresh peaches, throw in some raspberries at that time of year and I am in heaven.

I drive my family crazy because I eat the cookie part of the Oreo, but scrape off the centers. It all works out though, because one of my kids ONLY eats the centers. We are like the perfect combination of Oreo Consumers.

Reply

Pineapple is the best fruit ever!!!! I can’t believe I used to hate it!
Love love love oreos!
No real triathlons here. I did the mini maniacs youth triathlon back when I was 12, but I don’t know if that really counts….

Reply

You REALLY should try chocolate covered grapes. Soooo good!

Reply

My fave fruit is limes and I don’t like Oreos. (Yes I am so strange)

I love running and cycling but can’t stand being cold and wet so I know Tri’s are out for me.

Reply

Peaches and Strawberries.

I have done a few sprint triathlons, but it has been a long time. I want to do one again and I would love switch to the Olympic distance. Maaaaybe one day do a half ironman. Never a full. That is just crazysauce to me.

hella glad I am not pregnant. But your sister is adorable. She has the teeny tiniest bump. And you three are gorgeous. Freakin supermodels. I would hate you all and be super jealous if I didn’t love you so dearly.

I know I shouldn’t like oreos, but I do. I know they have all the chemicals and they are bad and blah blah blah, but guess what? I love em anyway. And anytime there is a new flavor? Yep. I make it my goal to hunt them down and try it. I aim high in life I tell ya. So far the lemon, reese’s peanut butter and the pumpkin have been my favorite of the flavored. Next in line is birthday cake. Gingerbread, watermelon, sherbet were surprisingly good. Did not like the strawberries and cream or candy corn. Have you tried the dipped ones? They have coconut (the best) mint and peanut butter.

Clearly I need a life.

Mmm, chocolate covered Oreo!

It is so funny you posed the Triathlon question, I always see you biking and running, I wonder why you didn’t go for Ironman. I was thinking about that post Ironman Louisville, how my favorite bloggers like yourself, would probably age group qualify for worlds on the first or second try, because everyone always bombs the run, if you can bike a relatively easy 17mph, which I am sure you can, and manage a 3:30 marathon, those people are the age group winners/placers. A 6:30 bike and 3:30 run. And you being in 25-29, you would be in Hawaii same year I bet, competing with the pros!

Reply

I like the way your daughter eats her quesadilla!! My kind of girl ;)

I’ve wanted to do a tri for years but the bike scares me…funny how we all have out thing.

Fav fruit is mangos…love them!! Always opt to add to my salad.

Reply

I’m with you, I’d do a triathlon if it wasn’t for the whole swimming part.
I am so craving a chocolate covered oreo now!!!
My favorite fruit is a berry – grew up with salmon berries and totally miss those, so yummy! (Does not taste like salmon, just has the color of salmon.) :)
Always love seeing the pictures of your daughter, she is so precious and lucky to get to go so many places with her mom!!

Reply

I love mango, I love oreo cookies!
This picture of Brooke tackling you is so precious! you both look very happy on it.

I love oreos, esp ones fresh out of the refrigerator. They sell the chocolate covered ones in packages, probably not as good as Rocky Mountain

I love oreos on ice cream sundaes!

I’m just getting into triathlons and doing quite well (undefeated so far!) yay!

I just want to say I WANT PUREFLOW 2’s BACK!!! My feet were the happiest in those :( The Pureflow 3’s I hated, then I just got Pure Cadance and they are ok- but I think they are part of my IT band injury (was having some arch issues in them).

Watermelon and Grapes together are my favorite.

I LOVE oreo’s!

Reply

Apples!!!!
No tri, because I don’t ride bikes well. I’ve done an aquathon though, it’s like a tri, without the biking. Loved it!!!
Oreos are yummy!
