A real good racing day.

Well, that went better than expected.

I am not even exaggerating one bit, the St. George Marathon is the most beautiful course on the planet.  I pretty much cried every time we turned a corner and I saw the scenery.

Every year, I will be there.

Now the real challenge will be chasing around this girl when my quads are just a tad bit sore:)

Enjoy the rest of the day and I will get to work on that recap asap as I am eating an apple fritter and drinking a diet coke!

Reply

Awesome job! Congrats!

Reply

OOPS!! Just saw you have a 3:04 to your credit! (List of times on the left!) So not a PR. However, marathon times are hard to quantify. Too many factors in play. Loop vs point-to-point course. Hilly or flat. Weather. What your own goals for that race were. Plus whatever X-factor 26.2’s usually throw into the mix!! Anyway, a great run! You negative split, which is always a plus. But most important, YOU are happy with the result!!

Janae, you go girl!!! Congratulations, you are an unstoppable force. After your personal hardships this year, which you have handled
like an absolute hero and role model, you have kicked ass! So full of admiration and respect, all day err day, whether relating to running or not,
you are grateful and enthusiastic about everything you have – I am not religious but I will say amen to that and that you embody positivity, in turn making the world a better place for having you in it. Thank you! X

Reply

Thank you so much Dierde! You are the best! I hope you are having a beautiful weekend:)

Reply

That’s awesome! Congrats. Enjoy your diet coke and fritter. :)

Reply

Congrats on a great race. I love the SGM but I am not sure how you qualify as the most beautiful course on the PLANET. Have you run a marathon outside of the US. I have run all over the place and can assure you while SGM is stunning, I dont think its the most “beautiful” but thats just my opinion (based on ACTUALLY running marathons outside of the US)

Reply

Yeah – this

Reply

I tend to be a bit dramatic (about a lot–> I get very excited about things and that is just who I am). I am truly sorry I haven’t run all of the marathons outside of the US.. Maybe someday. I bet they are incredible and that is awesome that you have had the chance to!
Between race high + running in the town I grew up in with so many great memories + truly loving Utah and the red rock = I loved every second of the race. Hope you have a great weekend Lucy and that you have some fun races on your race calendar.

Reply

Thanks for your reply and seriously congratulations. I know you exaggerate and I definitely think SGM is a stunning course, I could see how it would be your favorite out of the ones you have fun, but it was the qualifying it on “the planet” as though you have run marathons all over the world that I took exception too. I haven’t run every marathon out there, but yes have been fortunate to run in many countries. Bask in your post race celebration with your family. Cheers.

Reply

Yay!! You are amazing!! Congrats, girl!!
