Here are ten random things for your Tuesday afternoon:

-I am obsessed with the newest addition to my room.  Just need to add some pictures to the magnet board.

IMG 7331

-Brooke was throwing a 2-year-old-mini-tantrum on Sunday (I wish I could remember what it was about) and we all just kind of ignored the tantrum and then she ran into the other room to ‘cool off’ on the couch for a few minutes by herself.  So much personality in such a little body.

IMG 7242

-I am getting so good (okay.. maybe not good but I can actually do them now) at one-legged squats that I can take a blurry selfie while I do them now.

PS don’t look too closely for grey hairs.  I find about two new ones each day.

IMG 7108

-We have been partying a little too much and Brooke fell asleep on my niece.  My sister’s three kiddos are going to be the best big brother/sisters to the new little one on the way!

IMG 7199

-Anytime we go to a store that has candles I plan on spending at least a good 15 minutes smelling candles with Brooke because it is one of her favorite things lately.  Whenever she finds a good one she sprints over to me so that I can smell it too.  (Extra blurry picture- I’m sorry)

IMG 7319

-A reader sent me this picture and I need an ice cream doughnut sandwich now.  I don’t know how I feel about the mint chocolate chip in the middle though… I think I would choose chocolate chip cookie dough.

Screen Shot 2014 08 31 at 9 42 35 PM

-My latest thing—>  Each night I write something that I am grateful for and also a thought/story/something from the day that I want to remember.

IMG 7347

IMG 7350

Speaking of September 2nd…  Two years ago today is when my sister met Brooke (aka Spikey) for the very first time.

Screen Shot 2014 09 02 at 1 45 54 PM

-I show people that I love them by baking for them.

 IMG 7333

-Every now and then I do turn down sweets.  For example- today as Brooke and I were at the mall I really wanted a Cinnabon Cold Stone sundae but I decided to go to my sister’s instead and eat her nectarines from her tree.

IMG 7377

IMG 7379

-7 treadmill miles with the sister next to me this morning.  That tempo run yesterday wore me out.  Today I felt like a slug and I am pretty sure I was 75% asleep the whole time.

IMG 7355

Brooke and I are off to go get our family pictures taken:)  Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday!

Felt super tired during my workout this morning and I think I was asleep for most of it too! I think I woke up after I left the gym!

Sluggish today…thankful it was only a shake out run!
Quote, “Because of grace, at any moment you can make a change…”
I kept a journal when the kids were little…priceless.
I will just take the ice cream–no gluten here :)

LOVE that quote… thank you so much for sharing Cheryl!

I felt pretty good for my run this morning but it was really humid so it felt hard! I am really worn out now. I’m trying to get myself to a yoga class to stretch and relax a little.
I think I would be happy with the mint chocolate chip but cookie dough sounds really good too:)
I was never really a journal writer but I’ve been trying to get back into it lately. I think it really helps me to manage my stress, but I always forget or get too busy to do it!

I know you’ve told us before but can I get the girl that does your eye lashes info? I need a pick me up and yours look so fabulous!

Thank you Kendra! I go to Alyssa at Amara Salon! I am obsessed with them and she is the best.

When I was younger and a teen I wrote in a journal practically every day. It’s. Habit I really want to get back into doing it. I actually bought a journal last week that says “She turned her cant’s into cans, and her dreams into plans” on the front! No run for me today. I had to take my son to the doctor this mornng so then I had to work later which cut into workout time! That picture of your niece holding Brooke is so sweet! They are going to be great with their new baby brother or sister!

We have an INCREDIBLE ice cream sandwich place called Sweet Sammie’s. If you are ever in Dallas/Fort Worth area, I will most DEFINITELY have to take you!

I really really want to start journaling, even if it is just one sentence a day. It’s such a good way to see how far you’ve come!

Reply

I am on my 3rd year in my “One Line A Day” journal. I love being to see where I was in previous years.
After yesterday’s races, my legs were heavy. I still managed 9 miles, but they were slow recovery pace.

Reply

Love the magnet board, where did you get it?

Those cookies w/ drizzle and sprinkles look soooo good. But not for me. :( (grain free)

Have done daily gratitude lists in the past, it really does work wonders. Interesting to have one for 5 years, would be a wonderful record. (again, where did you get it? :)

Quote would be something like “be here now – now is all there is” (or as @dimityontherun says “be where your feet are”)

Doughnuts and ice cream – if I COULD eat them – maybe Krispy Kreme chocolate cake doughnuts with glaze and super vanilla ice cream. Or apple cider cinnamon sugar cake doughnuts with cinnamon ice cream. I’d think it would work better with cake doughnuts than yeast raised.

Felt pretty good but challenged by my tough tempo run today! The rest of the day has been probably better than usual energy-wise, but I’ve carbed up and had the day off work. I didn’t want to get up as early as I had to this morning and probably won’t want to tomorrow either.

Hey M! I got it at Soel Boutique and I think they may ship if you want to call- 801-426-9644. Way to go on your tempo run today and I LOVE both of those quotes so much, thank you!

Reply

I think I’d do chocolate fudge brownie or cookies ‘n cream. Lately I’d have about anything that has a brownie in it.

I always start and stop with journaling. I’ve never been able to keep it up. My mom does everyday and has for as long as I can remember. Every so often she will say “did you know that 10 years ago today we were at….?” Its awesome.

I did not run today. Perhaps why my energy level has been very low all day.

Quote I’m loving lately – “What you focus on expands”

Reply

Where did you get the one line a day journal? I want one!

Reply

I got it from a boutique here in Utah called Soel! I bet they will ship… here is their number: 801-426-9644

Love your quote from Christopher Reeve! I think my favorite quote right now is “Everything you need is already inside.” It’s from an old Nike campaign.

Reply

That journal idea is something I need to do. What a great way to turn around the day or your mood.

Today I did TurboFire. I thought the 45 min class sounded like a good idea. Holy crap. I am so out of shape. I feel like I haven’t exercised in years. Boo. Yesterday’s run felt great though. Yay! I passed a home that had a peach tree out front that looked like no one had ever picked from. I was really tempted to stop, knock and ask them if I could take some.

Ummm that donut idea sounds amazing. I am a little disappointed and shocked that Ross hasn’t thought of that yet. I think chocolate or some sort of fruity cheesecake would be good in the middle. And now I will not be able to stop thinking about it until I have created one.

Those who live only for themselves eventually shrivel up and figuratively lose their lives, while those who lose themselves in service to others grow and flourish – and in effect save their lives. – Thomas S Monson

Reply

I bet Ross has thought of it and he deep fried it too but he is just too embarrassed to tell you about it:) LOVE THAT QUOTE SO MUCH!! I am sure obsessed with you Meg.

Reply

It was the first day of school – so I was sluggish and ready for a nap by 2pm! I’m working close to home again, which means I can actually go out for a run before having to pick up Max!

Oh man – sprinkled donut with red velvet ice cream would be my ultimate treat

Reply

My favorite donut is an old fashioned so I’d go with a chocolate frosted old fashioned with some jamocha almond fudge ice cream….yum!

My legs felt about at a 5-6 today. I ran a half marathon on Sunday, so they’re prob still a little tired from that. But I felt good!

I love that Brooke gave herself a timeout. Lol

Reply

I am obsessed with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, I choose that flavour everytime I have ice cream!! That journal is such a good idea and will be great to look back on, I used to write one a few years ago! My grandma always told me to keep a journal to show my kids and grandkids in the future! I love quotes, literally all I do on Pinterest is read quotes aha my favourite is- “because if you keep hope alive, it will keep you alive”, I love it and I’m getting it framed for my bedroom!!

I am ready for the Texas vs. BYU game! Hook’em! ;=)

I used to write in a journal when I was going through some tough times.
I saved all of them and will read every so often to see how far I have come. :)

I think a blueberry cake donut with cake batter ice cream would make a great sandwich

Quote: be grateful when you are up and graceful when you are down

It was 90 degrees and 100 percent humidity. My run was a crawl.

Reply

I really like that magnetic board. It’s so motivating.

My favorite donuts are boston creme, the pumpkin filled at wawa or the red velvet cake. Any with frosting are good too. I actually really just like any donuts.

I really like the journal idea. That seems really awesome and I would love to buy one.

Reply

So glad I wasn’t the only one that thought that ice cream donut sandwich looked good- all these combos I’m reading sound amazing too!
Sadly the only thing keeping me awake these days is the occasional (ok daily:) coke zero-It’s the only way I can get my workouts in AND have enough energy to be a good mom!

Today was my 5th workout day in a row, so I felt pretty sluggish too — definitely ready for a rest day!

Reply

Where did you get the magnet board?
I am a major journal writer. I don’t do many things well but that is one thing I do! My kids can look back at any day of their life and see what we were up to that day. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone back to see when an event occurs because I can’t remember!

Reply

Oh I love that reflection book! I want one! Where did you buy it?

Reply

Please don’t be mad, but I don’t think I could eat a donut ice cream sandwich. :(. I have a texture thing with desserts- ice cream by itself, not with cake, brownies, or anything, sorry!

No running today, did a 45 minute Jillian Michaels DVD, a fast 1 mile treadmill walk and a few minutes of stretching, so I got in an hour workout. Will attempt to run tomorrow.

I love how close you and your sister and your nieces and nephew are with Brooke! Family is the best!

Reply

I have always kept a journal, however now that I have a blog I sort of combine the two together. There is something that comforts me about having a notepad and pen nearby – I carry I mini pad and pen in my purse. :)
If I could make a doughnut sandwich, I would definitely go with birthday cake ice cream.

Quote: “Two things define you. Your patience when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything.”

“Happiness is the best form of revenge”…That is my favorite quote for the last several years. I remind myself of it on the daily….Hmm. I am with you with not wanting mint chocolate chip in my doughnut sandwich. I don’t ever want mint chocolate chip!

That board is awesome!! I love to journal but never know what to do with it once I fill it.

Hey girl! This quote really saves me when I get caught up in the past and question the future, “Dear God, if today I lose my hope, please remind me that your plans are better than my dreams.” Why question anything when He has a plan that is greater than our understanding =).

Thoughts during my 7 miler this morning as I was dying slowly, “your’e one step closer to your foam roller…you’re one step closer to your breakfast….you’re one step closer to a warm shower.”

Reply

I want that picture board SO bad!!!! Is that an etsy thing? I am going to look for one!!!!! I am not really a journaler…I journal like I keep track of my mileage…I say I am going to and do it for about 2 weeks then life happens :). This week is all easy paced runs to gear up for my half on Sat!!!!!!

At first I thought the ice cream doughnut looked a little too rich for my taste, but then I remembered that we had warm glazed Krispy Kremes with a scoop of cinnamon ice cream in it at my husband’s work party a few years ago and it was one of the best things I’ve ever put in my mouth, so I’m totally onboard now.
I wish I were a journal writer, I usually write something every few months.
Favorite quote, “the best is yet to be”. Reminds me that good things are coming.

Reply

I always bake muffins for my friends to bring to them. This weekend I made peach cashew muffins and brought them to a friend when we went shopping. Because you should always bring your friends muffins when you go shopping!

Reply

I write in a journal every night! I started it on my 13th birthday and I can count on one hand how many days I’ve skipped. I love it just to write down what happened that day and I’m looking forward to reading it when I’m older!

My run was pretty good today.. 11 hill repeats and I felt good on them all!

A girl in my class today had a tattoo with the quote “The will to live outweighs the ability to die”. I like it!

Reply

You could show me you loved me with those cookies any day of the week :)
And is it bad that I adore kiddo temper tantrums? As long as they aren’t on an air plane…

Reply

I don’t journal too often, but I do have a gratitude journal that I make sure to write in at least once a week.

Reply

Poor Brooke (or poor mommy!) – I am just being introduced to the world of toddler tantrums. It’s certainly been interesting so far and my son isn’t even 2 yet :( The good outweighs the bad though, that’s for sure!

The doughnut + mint choco chip ice cream looks amazing, maybe for a few bites at least. Good choice with the nectarines instead!

I’m feeling a total lack of energy today. Probably need some coffee before my early a.m. run tomorrow!

Reply

My husband grew up eating “cookie dough bagels” for breakfast. You toast a bagel, then put raw cookie dough on the bagel and zap it in the microwave for 13 seconds (yes, just 13). Then you eat it. The dough is gooey and warm…ah amazing. He introduced me to them when we were dating!

Reply

I really like that journal. What a neat idea! 5 years on one page/date. I know of something else I want to copy ;)

Reply

My fave quote right now is “a lot of courageous noes make for some beautifully brave yeses.” In a season of saying a few big yeses so in turn having today no to other things. One of the yeses is a marathon in December. I get the run o crap. I had one today. Completely awful on tired legs in insane heat. You weren’t alone today!!

Reply

Not the journaling type.

I don’t like donuts, but they do smell good!

Best quotes are from Maxine. They make me laugh and laugh.

Ran an easy 3.25 miles today. Loved it! Thank you fitness room at work with maxed out AC. Humidity finally arrived here in ME this weekend. Gross.

Love this journal! Such a great idea!

“Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change. The courage to change the things I can. And the wisdom to know the difference” I actually have it on a post-it note on my wall at work (where I read it ALLLLLL the time). It’s also helped me through a recent emotional rough patch…

I’ve done the journal stuff in the past and written a lot of poetry but not as much recently. Journalling is good for the soul though. I really believe that.

Reply

Today’s run was so disjointed that it killed me–in a good way. I was waiting for the cable guy to come and had to jump off the treadmill every 5 minutes to make sure I didn’t miss the doorbell. And I almost missed him.

Fave quote right now: “Strive for progress, not perfection.” ‘Nuff said.

Reply

I love the quote! Thank you :)

Reply

My legs felt like tree trunks wrapped in cement during my run this morning but still managed 8 miles. It was all mental and I knew I’d feel awesome afterwards.

Reply

I love that journal! I used to journal with my first child and that one looks so awesome and something I’d actually do and keep it up!
Sounds lame but (besides the Bible verse “I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me…”) I’ve had in my head during long runs “There ain’t no cryin! There ain’t no cryin in baseball!!” Tom Hanks League of Their Own

Reply

I have a sentence-a-day journal too, from Gretchen Rubin. Just got back to it this week after like four months where I apparently couldn’t manage even one sentence a day – argh!!!

Which brings me to my quote I try to live by: “Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.”

Reply

Firstly, I made that peach crisp you keep posting and it was AMAZING!

A quote from Robert Brault that makes me giggle is this:

“Optimist: Someone who figures that taking a step backward after taking a step forward is not a disaster, it’s a cha-cha.”

I spend a lot of time doing the cha-cha in my life.

Reply

I don’t write journal consistently, more during really bad or really good times. So rereading them seems like my life is always extreme.

Reply

I do have a journal that I keep up with somewhat. I mainly write down milestones, important thoughts or stories I want to remember and share with my son later, but I am REALLY LOVING your 5 year Reflection Book. Where did you find that? Oh and the magnet board…LOVE.

I too have tight hip flexors so those are my go to stretches along with my IT and hamstrings :)

I used to be a big journaler in the past, but got away from it! That journal seems like just the thing to get me back on track again!

Seriously, dessert sandwiches need to become more of a thing! They just take deliciousness to the next level. YUM.

Reply

I journaled off and on for years. Now I kinda consider my blog my journal.
There used to be a dunkin’ donuts/baskin robbins combo place near me and I always said I was going to have them build me a hot fudge sundae on top of a chocolate donut. Never did it though… now I really want one!

Reply

I love the idea of having the journal for years, with each day on the same page!

Reply

I’m not the biggest donut fan (I don’t understand myself either….) but I have been dreaming of the perfect ice cream sandwich for weeks on my long runs and have decided that a molasses cookie + ginger citrus ice cream combo would be it.

Reply

I have that 5 year journal too & LOVE it. I cannot wait to give it to Gabriella one day. It’s one of the things that, God forbid, our house caught on fire (or something else like that)- I would grab. It’s just so special. <3

Restaurant equipment and supply stores are a great resource for
inexperienced restaurant owners, week-end chefs, or people

Once you have an idea of what is available, research different brands and choose the best quality you can afford,

This is actually a stylus that can be used for handwriting identification or recognition.

That is precisely the reason why the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 case is still
making significant headway in the retail market, mainly due to the fact that it does exactly what it
says it does. The most notable design feature however is the back case with its
stitched-leather-look and I think this will appeal to professionals
along with the addition of a stylus, called the S Pen by
Samsung.
