Stealing as many kisses as possible.

Brookers is leaving for the weekend to be with her dad so I am stealing as many kisses as possible before she goes.

I am still getting my strength training on thanks to the internet for giving me examples of what to do.

If you like fruit and you like cereal then you should just go ahead and make a big bowl of cereal and top it with every fruit that is currently in your fridge.  Anything works, trust me on this one.

She gets her deep love for watermelon and cold cold cold refreshing fruit from her momma.   We have deep discussions as we sit there with two forks and a tub of watermelon.

Remember how I went to Thailand in March and stayed with my friend Sarah?  She is back in town visiting for a few weeks so the high school three amigos hung out in the basement catching up on life for a little while.

And later on Brooke and I fulfilled our tradition of doing our favorite things together before she leaves.

Including fries and a play place.

After Brooke went to sleep it was off to take advantage of $1 night at Classic Skating.  Haven’t been there for approximately 12 years.

Turns out that roller skating is actually a really good workout.  I think I did about 6 miles on my skates yesterday.  Should have worn my garmin to get accurate distance measurements.

And then the addiction continued.  This is what $15 of tokens looks like.  And now my pinky finger has a bruise on it from the paddle after playing for so long—>  just another sports injury.

I am missing running so it is one of those mornings where you need to tell me about your best run this week so that I can live through you!  How far?  What made it a great run?  What is your weekend run?

Do you ever eat ‘fast food’?  Where is your favorite fast food restaurant?

What was your favorite fast food restaurant as a teenager/in college?

How many days a week do you try to fit in strength training?

I had a good run this morning! Finally got my average pace under 8min (piece of cake for you, Im just glad I didnt puke). It was nice and breezy and I got to see the sunrise during the last mile. It was one of those mornings where I realllllly wanted to blow off my run and stay in bed but Im glad I didnt. Happy Friday!

I haven’t had fast food in at least 5 years myself, but my family jokes that the only time they get to have any kind of fast food is when we’re driving home after I’ve ran a marathon – I am so weak and tired and it’s the only time I don’t care if my kids eat garbage! I can’t even remember which one I ever liked the most…although I know mcdonalds fries have a reputation. I just remember how sick I’d be after eating it.

I am taking some down time from big mileage so just an 8 miler this weekend for me :)

I am jealous you went roller skating!

Reply

I ran from the police the other day. It was my best run of the week.

Training runs I haven’t done in close to two weeks. I have no plans this weekend. I might go get my Jersey Shore tan on. I like chick fil a as well. Have you ever tried Boston market? I’m not sure if they have them out west but are good. If I eat at restaurants, it’s normally a diner.

Reply

I had a good run on Wednesday on the treadmill. 3.5 miles in 30 minutes, not extremely fast but I always start out slow and then incorporate my speed training into it so I was running a 6:40 pace by the end! Good, hard, sweating run :)

Chick Fil A is my favorite!!! I don’t really like fast food other than that but every now and then I will get Taco Bell :) That was definitely my favorite in high school!

I try to do strength training 2-3 times per week! Running is the best ever, but strength training changes your body completely!

Hola Janae!
I love fast food!!
The only problem is I haven’t been in the mood for awhile, dang it. I’m waiting to be in the mood so I can bounce on the chance and eat a good, nasty McDee burger, and enjoy it. Gotta wait til I enjoy it though. That’s my secret.

I’m trying to be a strength training ninja this summer, so I do it every day, mixed w running. A great site to check out is Nia Shanks–she’s the lifting queen. Good luck!

Reply

I just had a really easy slow miler this morning. I have a midnight 25k tomorrow night that I am SO excited for!!

Chick-fil-a! Today is actually free CFA day if you dress up like a cow! Just in case you are craving it two days in a row ;)

I’m the worst ever at strength training. I’m much better at eating fast food. Oops.

Reply

I loved roller skating and ice skating so much! We have a few ice skating rinks around here, but I think all of the roller skating rinks closed down (major bummer!). Problem with going roller skating, though, is I don’t think I’d have anyone to go with. My best friend is a klutz who hurt herself last time I took her ice skating (on her birthday, no less. My bad!), and my family just isn’t all that active.

I need to get back into the habit of strength training. But it’s just so easy to do a hilly walking workout on the treadmill while watching Netflix.

Reply

I had a nice 4 mile run last night after the sun went down and it cooled off a little. As for strength training, I try to work in something in at least 3 days a week and pretty much all my workouts come from Pinterest.

Reply

Have a good weekend!

Reply

My best run this week was when I hit the track for the first time this summer. I did 4×1 mile and then an extra 800m since I felt like 5 full repeats would have been a lot of fast mileage. It was awesome because the repeats were faster and more consistent than I thought they were going to be and I felt stronger than I thought I would even though I haven’t hit the track since right before Boston Marathon.

My weekend run is a 10 mile race with warm up and cool down before and after it to get to 20 miles. I have a trail 50k in 2 weeks and this is my last long run.

Does subway count as fast food?

I try to fit in 2 Bodypump classes a week for strength training. I also take GRIT classes which is the Les Mills HIIT workout. It is a lot of exercises with a plate or body weight exercises.

Reply

I ate a big tub of the coldest, ripest watermelon yesterday and thought of you, haha. Thank goodness for summer and the watermelons it produces!

Since getting back from a short vacation I haven’t had any speed in my legs at all. The 94% humidity might have something to do with it too… hmmm! :)

Reply

It’s been so long since I ate fast food…I just don’t like it anymore. When i was in high school I used to go to Wendys all the time for lunch. Dont ask me how I did that and then went to field hockey or track a few hours later.
My runs lately haven’t been good…hoping that this weekend brings some improvement!

Reply

I rarely eat fast food.. it makes me sick! I’ll eat Subway if I absolutely have to eat somewhere.

I’ve been slacking on running lately- I needed a break! But yesterday I did my first tabata workout ever. Holy SORE today!!

Reply

Love cold fruit I even refrigerate bananas they taste better cold and sliced: ). Your friend has super long legs!

Reply

Oh I’m going to try bananas in the fridge. Never thought of that buy sounds good. Thanks☺

Reply

Man, this really makes me want to go skating.

Reply

I would say my fav run so far this summer was on my birthday on 7/5. I ran 8 miles with my friend and the time just flew by! It is so fun to run with someone especially on your birthday :)

I have never been a big fast food person but if I had to pick one I guess I would say Chipotle or does Shake Shack count?! My favorite fast food as a teenager was this local Mexican place by my house, not a chain but it was cheap and quick like fast food!

I try to fit in strength training in 3-4 times a week. Taking body pump totally helps with that!

Reply

Sorry you’re missing running :( I got in 8.5 miles this morning, and 4.5 of them were part of a hill workout with the November Project in Boston. Such a fun environment! I’m glad you’re finding lots of ways to have fun outside of running. Now I want to go roller skating!

Reply

Ahhh I’ve wanted to go roller skating for SO long but it’s so hard to convince my friends to go too! It looks like so much fun!

Guess who’s still in college :P So my college favourite is my current favourite too and that’s Burger King just because their fries are better than anywhere else. Although in Ireland we only have a few fast food places but mmmmmm… those fries are so good. Haven’t had it for ages actually… damn, now I want some!

Did 3 miles of speedwork on the treadmill this morning – couldn’t go too far because I’ve got a raaaaace tomorrow! :)

Reply

I had an amazing run this past Saturday. We were visiting family in Nashville and I woke up early (easier to do on vacation than normal days for me!) and got in 10 miles. When I run at home it is usually on a paved riverwalk bc I live downtown……….don’t get me wrong it is gorgeous………….but being in an area I am not familiar with I feel like i get to explore! And the hills are INTENSE!! When my ipod nike+ said I reached the halfway point I felt like I had just started!

I like fast food occasionally. Chik fil a is prob still my favorite although I am not a fan of the new way they cook their grilled chicken………….it is too tough now! In high school I don’t remember eating fast food………..maybe wendy’s when we were on the road after a xcountry meet. In college I preferred Millhollow or Hogi Yogi……….both were sandwich and froyo places in Rexburg!

Reply

Umm that bowl of cereal with fruit salad looked so good!

The only ‘fast food’ places I really eat at are Panera Bread and B Good :)

I only do strength training about once a week… but I’m always trying to improve and work my way up to 3 times a week. Thanks for the reminder!!!

Reply

My best run this week was on Wednesday – I’m just coming back to running after being off for a month because of whatever is going on with my left leg (still trying to figure it out – waiting for appointments). Anyways I went for a “prediction run” with the group that runs the Ottawa Marathon. I left with the 30:00 for a 5K group and ran with one guy who had never ran a timed race before. A nice slow run (for me) where I could talk the entire time – the random guy was breathing a bit more heavy, but was ok. We ended up crossing in 28:45 and he was so happy. It was just a fun run with some really nice Ottawa peeps

Reply

I try to lift 1-2 times a week. This week it ended up being zero times, and sometimes that happens too…

Reply

Oh I haven’t been running in awhile. China’s pollution is killing my lungs. That fruit looks amazing and I’m learning to love strength training as well

Reply

I can’t remember the last time I ate fast food but I always loved McDonald’s Chicken Nuggets as kid with the sweet and sour sauce….I used to love roller skating! Had my birthday parties at the skating rink every year. I keep meaning to search for my roller blades so I can start blading again.

Reply

Fast food in college was definitely Chickfila. Monday nights were students nights and you could get a meal for $2.99!!! Since I’ve graduated the only time we really eat fast food is when we’re traveling and usually it’s a sandwich place (Subway, Panera, Jersey’s Mike’s) as my stomach can’t handle the grease.

Reply

My best run this week was Wednesday night, with my running group. I ran 7 that morning so I wasn’t fresh but the girls really challenged me and pulled me through! It was an easy 4 miles :)
This weekend I have a 14 miler.
Fast food wise, the only thing I ever do is share fries from 5 Guys with my boyfriend!

Reply

I rarely eat out, but when I do I’d also totally pick Chick-fil-a! I must have more self control than I give myself credit for, because I could eat it every day :-)

Reply

I ran 6 miles yesterday and it was so beautiful out! I love running on the trails and getting sweaty first thing in the morning!

Reply

Wow I haven’t been to a roller skating rink since high school and that feels like FOREVER ago!

Reply

Chick-fil-A is the only fast food I’ve ever eaten. And today is cow appreciate today! If that doesn’t brighten a mood I don’t know what does!

Last night my boyfriend and I went bowling and I was telling him about my days at the skating rink. I love my rollerblades but I sure miss putting on skates and going around a rink.

Reply

I don’t really eat fast food. But every now and then, I do love some McD’s french fries!

I strength train about 3 times per week at home. I have a huge library of DVDs and some hand weights!

Reply

I ran approx .25 miles yesterday and it felt great! ;) My foot hurts some today, but it’s not bad. I think healing is happening, ever so slowly. Thank you sooo much for the boots :) Please let me know if you need them back really soon.
Love Chick Fil A. Yum!

Reply

Rollerskating is a GREAT workout! Definitely a lot easier on the joints too! I also tried pool running…Janae, I don’t know how you do it, but it is so hard!! I’m going to stick with it though!

That burger and fries look delicious!! My friends and I all love going to Good Stuff Eatery in D.C. on special occasions (may have gone there for a burger, fries, AND milkshake after my first half marathon haha!). It’s fun to have something like that every once in a while :)

Reply

I’m not a fast food person but when I do indulge it is usually chic-fil-a.

Reply

I can’t remember the last time I ate fast food. Does Subway count? That may have been the last time then. I get really sick when I eat fast food so just best to not do it and my body thanks me for it too. Roller skating is so fun and I had no idea roller rinks were still around!
I strength train 2-3 days per week about an hour each. I’ve been backing down on my mileage and doing other things. This morning getting my step aerobics on!

Reply

Best run of the week was 7 miles, and one that just felt good from start to finish.

I feel like in high school I went through a phase with a lot of different fast food joints. I just had my first Arby’s roast beef sandwich last month. Not bad.

Best run:
Yesterday I ran 15 miles. I was supposed to go 14 miles but ran out of water and had to hit the store off my route so it ended up being 15 miles. It was humid and a struggle most of the run, and I also got lost for a minute but in the end I loves every minute. I ran through 4 cities from east layton to centerville. I ran to in n out burger where my husband picked my up and he ride his bike home ( it’s how two people for in workouts with 7 kids). It was probably my hardest run but that feeling of accomplishment makes every hard moment count. Plus, it was my first longer run as I train for my first full marathon in a few months.
My second fav was my lunchtime run where I ran faster than I had before because I had very limited time and wanted to get in 5 miles (I had less than 45 minutes to run and change back into work clothes and get back to work).
I don’t know how you aren’t running. If I get frustrated in my training I just do runs without a watch just to de-stress

I moved to LA for PT school 2 yrs ago- not the safest neighborhood. Anyway, I ran at Lincoln park yesterday and it was wonderful because so many people were w/me at5:30am walking and running and some were friendly! Which is tough to find in LA :D I love KFC- as a kid one year I wanted that as my birthday dinner haha. I don’t eat much fast food but I also love subway- it’s my go to. As a teenager I loved Taco Bell- I honestly still do but I can’t eat it unless I want to lay in bed the rest of the day. Doing strength today! Try to do it 2-3x/wk. enjoy your workout- you’ll be back to running soon! the skating looked like so much fun and you always make me crave fruit!!

Reply

I ran stadium stairs this week and it was such a great workout and do much fun. I’ve been really slacking on strength training so that’s my focus this weekend. Once I get in the habit I actually really like strength workouts!!

Reply

Those fries are the best! I eat fast food but I try not to very often. I love Chick-fil-A, it is my weakness when I live in Provo ha! I try to strength train 2 or 3 times a week but it is definitely something that I have to talk myself into. Brooke is as cute and sweet as ever :) Sorry you don’t get to see her this weekend :(

Reply

I love me some mdonalds!

I just to pretend carrying my purse is strength training =)

Reply

The fast food places I like/eat at are Chipotle and Panera. I wish we had a Cafe Rio here!!

Reply

I went on a 5 mile run by Lake Michigan, north ave. beach, and lincoln park zoo. I actually heard a cow from the petting zoo moo. It was pretty exciting!
Brooke looks absolutely adorbs eating watermelon in that pic!
Ok… Your post totally makes me want to roller skate. I’m literally googling places to go by me. Seems like an awesome workout!!!!
I never eat fast food, but when I was in college, I loved Wendy’s. I haven’t eaten a fast food meal in a few years now.

Reply

Love the roller skating adventure!i think the last time I put on skates was the fifth grade….I think I won the limbo ha!

Chick fil a for life.

I shoot for 2 days of strength training per week and I also aim to do total body (ie not just focus on arms)

Reply

Last Saturday My almost 3 yr old actually sat in the jogging stroller (she wants to run with me, not stay in the stroller) as I ran to the farmer’s market. She ate about a pint of strawberries on the way home. Best run all week!

Hi Janae! I finally got up the courage last night to go down to a local athletic store for their Thursday night fun run! I’ve been wanting to go for weeks but was too nervous (I had no idea about their pace or distance) but I’m training for a sub-2 half and I made myself do it. It was the BEST RUN. It was only 3 miles but I totally killed it and met tons of nice people.

Wish you the best for when you do get back to running!

Reply

I try to fit in strength training 4 times a week focusing on different areas! My running this week was decent but nothing too crazy because I’m running a 25k this weekend! New race distance = a new PR.. Right??

Reply

I’m a non-runner getting serious in training for a run/walk half marathon, and my best run this week was where I shaved 30 seconds off my average mile randomly one evening. I will take it!

Reply

Best run this week was actually on Sunday and I did a 9 mile run for my marathon training. I ran somewhere totally different so the time went by really quickly since every turn I took I was seeing something new. My run for this weekend will be 10 miles and I haven’t decided yet whether I’ll do it tomorrow morning or evening.

Favorite fast food restaurant = Jimmy Johns

Favorite fast food while in college = Taco Bell

I fit in three days a week of strength training and I cross train at least two days with some cycling (pretty much only because I have to ride my bike to commute to the gym ;)….haha)

Have a great weekend!!

Reply

Growing up we rarely ate fast food so I never really developed a taste for it. I do love Chipotle though, does that count??

Reply

Love those pictures of you and Brooke!! So cute! I rarely ate fast food as a kid, and even now in college, I don’t eat it at all. The closest I come it Togos, and they made delicious sandwiches and salads haha. Well yesterday’s run wasn’t too good, so I’m thinking tomorrows will be 100 times better :) , just due to the fact that yesterdays sucked. Love strength training! It has helped me so much with my running, I do it 3 times a week!

Reply

haven’t been roller skating in ages but used to go so often as a kid — def miss it and kinda feel like i need to go asap. so much funnnn. i do strength training 2-3 times a week.

Reply

Brooke is too cute with her watermelon!

Reply

I wish my son like watermelon. He spits it out every time I try and give it to him. He likes other fruit, but for some reason no watermelon.

I had a few good runs this week – I was just thrilled I fit three runs in in a row. Rarely happens, but I was determined. Nothing was too far because I was running during lunch and it was 98 degrees out and very little shade.

I don’t really eat fast food but when I lived in Honduras the only air conditioned place in the city was Wendy’s and so it would be a treat to eat there and finally be cool and not sweating. So now, if I am going to eat fast food it’s always Wendy’s. I used to love Chick-fil-A also, but don’t feel right supporting them anymore. Boo.

Reply

Best run this week was yesterday -> Easy 10k followed by 10 strides. Felt good despite the heat!

If Dunkin Donuts counts as fast food, yes.

I try to strength train about 3-4 days a week but that doesn’t always happen. But when I’ve been injured I definitely get my strength training on religiously!

Reply

I am ALL about strength training these days, and walking! Honestly I don’t know how anyone worked out before the internet… And I went on my first run in a week or two yesterday and it was not pretty. Well, the sunrise view on the lakefront was gorgeous, but my cardiovascular abilities were not so great…

Reply

I had a gorgeous six miler around a new part of the English countryside – nothing better than silence and miles and miles of green to keep you entertained on a long run!
I try to strength train once a week at bodypump – so difficult! Give me cardio any day

Reply

you and brooke are too adorable!! :)

Reply

I haven’t been roller skating in far too long! Maybe it’s time to go digging through my parents’ basement for my old pair of roller blades… haha

also, I LOVE Brooke’s outfit and little teal Tom’s – so cute!

Reply

Oh my word!!! Rollerskating! Brings back so many awkward middle school memories.
My best run this week was a 6 miler yesterday morning. I got up and ran as the sun was rising on back country roads. I turned down my music and was listening to the roosters crowing and my feet hit the dirt road. So peaceful!!! I was able to process so many emotions and things that have been going on lately. It was amazing.
I try to strength train 3 days a week, abs 5 days a week. I feel like it’s really prevented a lot of injuries for me lately.

Reply

Last night was my best run of the week – I did 7 miles for the first time since 2010! It felt great and the weather was perfect. Tomorrow I’m doing a small 5K in town, and running to and from it, which will end up being around 5 miles.

I don’t eat fast food often. There’s not many options where I live now, so I normally head to Subway. But when I was in college I would regularly hit up Chipotle or Noodles and Company! We also had a Chick-fil-A on campus so I would go there a lot.

Reply

My best run this week was a 6 minute treadmill session (sounds short, I know), but it was the FIRST run I’ve been able to do after having ACL repair surgery 4 months ago. So basically, it was the best thing ever :) Running after recovery is so much sweeter than I ever thought it would be! Happy weekend!!

Looks like you did a lot of fun things before the weekend!!

While your side kick is gone here is something for you to chuckle over and to really think about, that is whether or not you would wear this!!! LOL. A Runsie!!!!!! Would you wear it????!!! I might just have to go to Lululemon to try one on!!!! BAAHAHA!

I am so impressed you could balance like that on your skates! I need both feet haha :) Also, $1 is a really awesome price for roller skating – I’m jealous.

Oh man, I haven’t been roller skating in AGES! It sure does sound fun though! Takes me back to our elementary school “roller skating parties” – good times!

Now that I’m teaching BodyPump, I do strength training 3-4 times per week. Wipes me out, but in the best way!

Reply

My best run was this morning with my hubby. We ran 6 miles and chatted the whole time. It was nice to spend time with him before the day began.

I strength train 2 days a week. Just started using Jeff Horowitz’s “Quick Strength for Runners”. It’s an 8 week program where the moves progressively get harder as you go along. I have definitely added muscle as a result of this program.

Reply

Best run this week was last night. It was supposed to be a recovery run from all my intervals on Wednesday night but I wore a cool hat and felt like a bad ass and went WAY fast. :) Recovery whaaat?

I normally strength train x 3 a week but right now I am trying to drop those man shoulders to streamline for my marathon in 6 weeks so I just do core a couple times a week.

Reply

I’m hoping for a good run today after work, but it is supposed to be a million degrees…so it should be interesting! Longer run tomorrow morning should be good though.

I’m jealous of your rollerskating! Looks super fun. I haven’t been in many, many years.

I ran and did a dance video with @smushtush this week! Amazeballs!!! Social media has given me some incredible moments and given me some cool friends and blends. I’m blessed! You’re on my bucket list to shootDaShaka with J!

My runs have been sporadic nothing more than 6 miles I need to get serious soon. Gonna do 4 today with my new pure cadences! I’m so excited and thanks for that dsw website!
I wonder how many miles I ran on beach yesterday chasing my 3 year old?
Enjoy your weekend it will go by fast!!

I’m a vegetarian, so most fast food options do not cater to my needs. However, Burger King has a veggie burger option and Taco Bell can replace meat with beans :) I love McDonald’s iced coffee too!

Reply

The only fast food I eat is In and Out, yum! When I met my husband 11 years ago, he didn’t eat any fast food other than In and Out and now that I”m allergic to most foods, In and Out is the only fast food I can eat, so we pretty much have been to every In and Out around California…okay not all of them, but a whole lot.

Reply

Well I guess I do not follow you enough to realize something went wrong last June.. Sorry! I went back and realized what happened. I am so sorry but happy that you are happy again!
The only fast food I eat.. pretty much just Subway. I hate how everything else makes me feel afterward. yucky. lol Not to say I don’t love the taste of some things like Beef n Cheddar’s or Taco Bell. I just feel like crap after eating it. So I pretty much just stick to Subway :/ Or chipotle, if that counts as fast food?

My long run this weekend is 10 miles, then a 5k run/walk with the fam on Sunday.

My best run this week was my 5 miler, on my lunch hour after doing the 5:45am spin class. I loved that I wasn’t sure how well it would go because I was pretty sore from spinning. But it was amazing and I had enough time to get back to work.. we have no showers here so I “wiped off” with baby wipes. LOL. And used deodorant. And body spray. Oh well it was amazing..

Reply

If we had more access to Chick fil a, that would be my fave fast food option. My area in Michigan does not have them but I’ve had some when going down south. Love that place!

Reply

I really don’t eat much fast food, but if I do I go hard.

Taco. Bell.

Reply

Yesterday’s 10 miler was only the best run of this week because I toughed it out and got it done. Only a runner would understand that sometimes the challenge is the reward.

I do love fast food, but don’t eat it too often. I love Wendy’s; their spicy chicken sandwich is the best.

Reply

I had a great 5.5 mile progression-ish run on Wednesday morning – started off 8.10 min/mile and finished at 7.25! Felt so good! And a trail 10K tomorrow morning to look forward to!

I worked at McDonalds as a teenager so I feel like I’ve already had my lifetime supply of fast food. Although, on road trips I like to stop for In-n-Out Chocolate shakes.

Reply

If you’re serious about strength training, you should get someone to show you how to use a barbell for squats, deadlifts, presses, and cleans.

Reply

Can I just say that you and Brooke have the sweetest mother-daughter relationship on the planet? It makes me smile every time I read about you guys and your deep discussions and outings =).

My best run was my 6 miler yesterday! I am coming off of an injury that kept me from running for the past 3 weeks! I was just so happy to be out and running and it was such a beautiful morning. It was just perfect.
Since I am coming off of an injury, I’m trying to make myself take it slow, so this weekend I will probably getting a pool workout in in lieu of a long run and a 4 miler on Sunday!

I stopped eating traditional fast food back in 4th grade! I have been craving Subway lately though if that counts!

I am currently a teenager and in college… so the answer is the same as my last haha!

Oh strength training… I used to be super religious about doing it every day… But these days it’s probably no more than 3 times a week… I get most of my strength training from cross training workouts like Insanity and Fitness Blender!

Reply

This is so random but if you dress up in a cow costume today Chick Fil A will give you a free meal! It’s Cow Appreciation Day. :D

I love all the pictures of you and Brooke together. She’s such a cutie!

Reply

That’s a great shot of you skating! I love it :) My best run this week was probably this morning’s run, even though it kicked my butt. It was humid and hilly but with a friend who is faster than I am. It pushed me and reminded me that I need to incorporate more hills into my routine. Even though it was tough, it was good. When are you starting up your running again?

Reply

Mmmmm watermelon!!

p.s. today is dress as a cow to get free Chick Fil A day, and free slurpees at 7-11!

Reply

Oh goodness I used to LOOOOVE Taco Bell. Now, I won’t allow myself to eat it…but those were good neon cheese days. And I strength train about 5x a week and run 3x a week.

Reply

I don’t eat fast food anymore but I used to love McDonald’s when I was a kid!

I haven’t gone rolling skating in ages! I’m sure I’ll probably lose my balance and fall so many times! haha

fav run this week- running around the national mall after work in the middle of a lightning storm. I normally would not have, but I would have had to wait outside for the bus in the storm anyway- isnt a moving target better for lightning? lol :scary

PS youre a champ for skating. I broke my femur skating and I would rather run a marathon than skate again!

First of all, I think Brookers is getting super cute and even cuter every day!!!

And I have to tell you about my best run this week. I had a business trip planned on Tuesday, spending basically 8 hours of the day in the car and another 3-4 in meetings. If I wanted to complete my 12 mile progression run, I had to get up at 4 am. Usually I would be dragging, but that Tuesday morning had beautiful misty atmosphere (it was very hot here over the weekend and on Monday), it was already pretty warm and humid, so I looked like I jumped in the pool of water after I finished. But honestly, having finished the workout at 6:30 am, nothing could beat the feeling of accomplishing my training even though I had busy schedule during the day! You’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do!

Crossing my fingers so you can run very soon again. And I hope you will come to wisit me and my running buddies (two dogs) with Brookers to Europe / Czech Republic sometime soon :)

Sorry Brooke has to leave you! I would miss my son terribly if he left for the weekend.

I did a 3 mile run on Tuesday that was awesome. 1 mile warm up, 1 mile 7:57, 1/2 mile cool down, 1/2 mile fast. I felt great afterwards! Also did a 4 miler that was good. I’m doing 12 miles tomorrow! Currently eating pasta for lunch in preparation.

Cafe Rio = definitely the best fast food. Or Chipotle.

I try to do strength or cross training 2-3 days a week!

I love the comment about wearing your Garmin while skating…I would have had the same idea. This week I had a fantastic run, simply because it was carefree.

Best run this week was a 14 miler on Sunday with my runner girls. Longest distance I’ve logged to date! Now I’m on a forced running break for the next week bc of a minor surgical procedure…total bummer…

I love Taco Bell…then and now!

I strength train at least twice a week, either through hand weights, body weight, or yoga.

Happy Weekend!

Um, CHIK-FIL-A IS THE BEST FAST FOOD! Anyone who disagrees is cray. Chicken biscuit=little slice of heaven. Your post about free sandwiches made me so jealous and sad that I missed out and there are just a lot of emotions going on here.

I do my strength training via internet as well, I love toneitup.com because they are on the beach and they’re upbeat and there are videos for every area. Also, runnersconnect.net has some great run-specific strengthening videos that target common runner weaknesses. For some stretching with my strengthening, I love doyogawithme.com because you can filter by level of practice and what you want to focus on. I try to fit in strength 3 times per week but sometimes slack when the weather is nice and I just want to play outside!

Hope you get to enjoy your “me” time this weekend even though I know you’ll miss your little girl!

I have to admit I love McDonald’s value menu. I used to celebrate double cheeseburger Fridays :)

I got really into strength training and loved it! Now I’m marathon training, so running is the focus and I do strength training twice/week. Check out Nike Training Club app, it’s awesome!!!

How are you liking that Woman’s Health workout? :) I’m glad you’re trying it out!

My best run this week was Thursday afternoon. I rode my bike for an hour, hopped off and ran 2.5 miles. This was my first attempt at biking/run in preparation for a Tri.

I did my second half marathon this week, in Huntington Beach, Ca. Way to hot, but to push through and complete it makes it my best run this week. Thankful I have a couple months before my next, in San Francisco which should mean much better weather. Thanks for all your helpful insights and running musings. I turn to your blog often, and especially when I am needing some extra motivation!

Mine would’ve been Popeyes fried chicken. The smell is addictive. And Burger King fries. Thank God for willpower over fast food. It’s not even something I crave these days.

Where do you make so many wonderful girlfriends??? I find it tough to meet other women in my area post-graduation :/

Our family loves In N Out and Taco Bell. Taco Bell we eat every couple of weeks — In N Out is mostly a road trip event.

My oldest daughter is a roller derby girl. So she spends a lot of time at the skating rink. (Such a fun sport to watch!) I was at the skating rink every weekend as a kid. That was definitely the see and be seen place in my small hometown. It’s amazing how quickly I can pick it back up when I go now.
