10 Fitness Things I Could NOT Live Without.

I saw this over on Megan’s blog and had to copy her… I think we all feel very passionate about our favorite workout gear and I love seeing what other people love/need/have to have/can’t live without so I am hoping you will share your favorites in the comments!

Here is my list of stuff that I am very grateful to for becoming a part of my daily life (yes, I get a little emotional about these things because they make me so happy;)

1.  My favorite GPS watch —>  The Garmin 410.  I love the touch bezel which allows me to scroll through all of the different features/screens easily as I run.  It uploads my information from the run wirelessly to my computer and the battery life is awesome (8 hours).  I mainly use it to track my time, distance, pace and elevation but there are so many different features that you can also use the watch for (heart rate, you can input your workouts on the watch and the Virtual Partner program).  I feel like mine always finds the satellites quickly and I have not experienced any glitches/problems with the watch so far and I have been using it for many many many miles over the last year.

2.  My Jaybird BlueBuds X.  I no longer have to deal with chords and I love it.  The sound on these are incredible, the battery lasts forever and they stay put in my ears perfectly.  They are sweat proof and beyond easy to use.  I don’t know how I listened to music before these.

3.  To go along with #2 my iPod Nano (it has bluetooth so that you can use it with the above wireless headphones).  I use THIS Clipcase to attach it to the top of my shorts when I am running and I love it because I forget it is even there because it is so light.

4.  Brooks PureFlows .  Actually, any and all Brooks shoes.  I love racing in the PureDrifts and the Ravenna 5s have been on my feet a lot lately.  Once you find shoes that you love… stick with them.  This is how I feel about my Brooks, my feet feel like they are in heaven when I wear them.

5.  Nike Rival Short.  I just have one pair but I wear them as many times as possible each month.  I don’t know what it is about them but they are crazy comfortable and they come in a lot of fun colors!

IMG 0880

6.  My foam roller.  I use this absolutely every day.  It helps me to recovery quickly and get a deep tissue sports massage for free:) I think this is a necessary tool for anyone who works out a lot… not just for runners!  You can watch my foam rolling video HERE!

(An old picture… I don’t know why I felt the need to include Tootsie Rolls with this picture)

7.  Fit 4 Her protein powder.  You can read my review here but this is my favorite thing to eat after a hard workout.  You can use the code HRG for $7 off!   I drink this (in the form of a smoothie with almond milk, frozen strawberries/bananas and almond butter) after every hard workout.  It is really filling and it is full of awesome nutrients for women athletes!  You can find it HERE!!!

8.  PRO Compression socks, sleeves and compression tights.  I have been wearing these for years after workouts, whenever I travel and the short socks during workouts.  They are an incredible company and they are passionate about their product and helping athletes recover quickly!

9.  A cold river right by my house so that I can be lazy and not have to go buy ice for an ice bath after a hard workout.

IMG 0617

10.  Salted Caramel Gu.  I swore that I would never be a Gu person because I just couldn’t handle the flavors or textures BUT this flavor of Gu won me over and it is all I have been using in races and for my long runs.  It tastes like candy and I notice a huge jump in my energy right after I take one.

YOUR TURN!!!! Gear/workout things that you just couldn’t live without?  Your favorite stuff!

Reply

Yep, love that and I use it for trail running!

Reply

I use a Garmin 405CX, looks about the same as yours!

Reply

I’m so jealous of your river! I’m also pretty fanatical about foam rolling + ProCompression socks.

Reply

My Mizunos! These are the only shoes that I don’t have shin pain in, so they really are a blessing.

Reply

I recently bought the salted caramel flavour GU excited to try it out now! Love that picture in the lake, too funny.

Reply

I didn’t know the nano was bluetooth capable. That’s a game changer. I thought I had to run with my smartphone. Now I’m going shopping.

*My Garmin 220 — just got it earlier this year to replace my 305. I LOVE IT.
*Saucony Guide 7s — this is my second pair, and they are awesome. It has taken me so long to find “that pair” of running shoes. I also like the Mirage for shorter runs.
*CW-X Xtra Support Bra — I cannot run without these bras. Nothing works better. (And if you take care of them, they last FOREVER.)
*Balega Ultra light socks
*Hammer gels and products

I would love to have a cold river nearby… I have a river but since its china its sort of dirty/toxic. Also those headphones seem worth checking out

Reply

I physically need my Brooks, my PURPLE garmin, Pandora & sunglasses. I buy all of my running clothes from the Target clearance rack. Im not too picky but the shorts must have the built in undies.

Reply

My Garmin, Nike+ (to keep track of my monthly mileage and workouts), My Mizuno Wave Riders, My Lulu running tights and my Yurbuds :)

Reply

Garmin 10 (simple and PERFECT for me!), Mizunos, ProCompression socks, Bodyglide, New Balance Impact shorts (most comfortable shorts I’ve EVER owned!), and a small water bottle cause I’m a camel when I run! I can’t run more than 2 miles without needing water!

I’m WAY too much of a baby to do ice baths. :O

Reply

The only two items I would add to your list are my new fave shoes – Newton Distance III which envelop my feet perfectly, & the RooSport pocket – it handles your phone, Gu and ID virtually invisibly. http://www.theroosport.com/

Reply

I love this list, thank you for sharing!!

Reply

I think I might steal this from you Janae. I’ll do all that proper blogging technique and link back…I would say I can’t live without runderwear.

Compression sleeves being a close number 2.

Reply

My phone for music and taking pictures. (I think I need to get wireless earbuds and a spibelt or flipbelt to make this easier.) My C9 workout tanks that I can get away with wearing to work. My little notebook with all my workouts in it.

Reply

Oh what a great post! I love hearing what people love. I love my heart rate monitor (Polar FT4) and the work out tank tops from Costco. I have both styles that my store had in all colors. But they are only $10 a piece so it’s okay….right?

Reply

I also love the Ravenna’s! And I can’t run outside without my sunglasses. And I don’t have a garmin, but I want one oh so badly.

Reply

Which sunglasses do you use? I have been looking for some, but don’t know where to begin

Reply

I have a pair of Oakleys Sport Sunglasses (I forget the exact model, I bought them awhile ago). The important thing (to me) to look for when choosing a pair is to make sure the sides are slightly angled to wrap around your head so they stay put while you are running, and make sure the lenses are polarized so that your eyes are protected, especially if you are running long distances outside. Other than that, just pick a pair you like!

Reply

I’d have to say: Garmin 610, Brooks Pure Connect, foam roller, GU peanut butter flavor, Pro5Her protein powder, Brooks PureConnects, Under Armour Mesh Back Shirt, my compressions socks, my running log app, yoga mat and FREE online videos, my handheld water bottle, and a kickass playlist on iTunes.

Need to check out those earbuds. I HATE my corded ones!

Reply

Love this! I think I’ll also do a post like this! :) I totally agree with the Pro Compression socks. I use the short ones for my runs, and I literally cannot stand to wear any other socks now!

Reply

I tried the salted caramel gu after you recommended it and love it too! It tastes just like caramel candy and doesn’t upset my stomach like some of the other ones.

Two of my must haves are definitely my iPod shuffle and Garmin Forerunner 10 watch. Before these 2, I would put my phone in an armband and use that to track my mileage and listen to music. After I switched to these two I feel so much lighter and more free during my runs!

I have a Trigger Point Foam Roller. SO good you’ll never use your old one again! I also love the stick for those stubborn calves, my iPhone (Nike App and Pandora), and Brooks PureCadence and their shorts! SO good.

Reply

Love all of these! My favorite things lately have been my Nathan hydration belt, Brooks Ghost 7s, and “the stick”. I love foam rolling but it’s nice to have something a little more portable when I travel for races…

Reply

Garmin Forerunner 10. It does everything I need it to do. Love it.
AGREED with the Jaybird headphones. I don’t know how people put up with cords anymore. Even at the gym, I love that I’m not accidentally unplugging my music as I swing my arm and that I don’t have to worry about cords when I’m doing strength work.
Nike sports bras. Love them.
Asics – I just love them so much.

Reply

things I can’t run without – my Newtons, Garmin 610 and inhaler. I love my Oiselle strappy bra too.

Love this type of post – I might have to copy you here sometime soon :)

Reply

• My SPIbelt with an amphipod iphone case that I slip on. It’s my go-to for all races. (TIP: attach a carabiner to the zipper of the SPIbelt if you want to have an easy thing to grasp behind you while running to unzip the pocket. It’s been a lifesaving idea for me to do this =)
• My ROAD ID shoe pocket that has my emergency contact info and a small spot to stash my key or cash.
• Garmin 210 for me.
• My Maui Jim sunglasses
• a hat or visor ALWAYS to keep sweat outta my eyes. My head must be an odd shape because all those cute sparkly headbands don’t stay put.

Reply

PRO compression are a must and probably the one thing I could not live without. Vega sugar-free energizer is something I started doing pre workout and it is seriously the best. Not many calories but just enough to bounce me out of bed for my early morning workouts. My review here: http://theskinny-life.com/vega-sport-sugar-free-energizer/

Reply

My favorite pieces of workout equipment are my yoga mat and water bottle.

For your headphones do you have to replace the batteries or do you charge them?

Reply

Garmin = #1 for sure! I ran without it the other day for the first time in over 2 years and it felt so weird!

I love anything and everything Nike DriFit and the shorts are my favorite as well as the thermal pants for the winter months!

I have a Belkin arm band for my iPhone and I love it as well!

Definitely GU for races, and I absolutely have to try to salted caramel!!! I usually go with vanilla because I don’t want too much flavor, but caramel is my favorite so I am sure I will love it!

Reply

Nothing comes btwn me and my garmin 10…. I love my garmin! I wish I could be the girl who could run with out it but I’m not….

I agree on the salted caramel gu! That Shiz is amazing!

And my target running skirt…. Yes that’s right I love the running skirts for target….

I can’t live without my endomondo app on my phone! You are so lucky to have a Garmin!

I just got my first garmin last month (I was using a running gps on my phone before) and even after just a short time, I now cannot live without it. It has improved my running SO much!

Reply

My Garmin 310XT and my Rocketfish Bluetooth Headphones 10000%!!!

I cannot fathom why ANYONE stills wears corded headphones!

Reply

Mizuno Wave Rider 16s, Nike + GPS watch, FOAM ROLLER!!!!, Nathan Shot Bottle for longer runs, SpiBelt to carry my phone on long runs and races, and Pro Compression! I have an iPod nano just like yours, I love it. I definitely need to look into the wireless headphones, mine aren’t that great. I can only handle the Espresso Love Gu!

Reply

I’ve had a Garmin watch for the past 6 years (multiple different models) and I don’t know what I would do without one! I always have it on my wrist… which leads to some pretty interesting tan lines! haha

Reply

My foam roller for SURE! And also my Netflix/Amazon Prime accounts for streaming yoga/workout videos and sometimes watching Gossip Girl during workouts at home. Sorry not sorry? haha

Oh, and good sports bras. I don’t have a specific brand, but I love any one that will keep things in from bouncing all over the place. Not really well-endowed up there, but I hate the feeling of wobbling when I work out!

Reply

I can’t live without my headphone and music! I have to have something to listen to when I am running, or I go crazy!

Reply

1. My Victoria’s Secret sports bra.. it’s soooooo soft and keeps everything where it should be!
2. Skorts because it makes you look so good while running.
3. My smart phone as I have my music and RunKeeper keeping me on track while I run (the app tells me the time, distance and pace).
4. My Nathan no bounce pink bottle belt because I drink a lot while I run and it has a little poket perfect for my phone.
5. Camelbak bottles or backpacks are the best too!

I still haven’t found a pair of running shoes that I truly love.

Reply

My list is very similar to yours: garmin, foam roller, pureflows, and pro compression are on the top of my list. My favorite summer running outfit has been oiselle winona tank and game day shorts!

Reply

My asics kayanos have been a lifesaver injury wise. My garmin fr 110 is great and I’m a sucker for lululemon shorts tanks and tights.

Reply

Love this list! Time for me to go shopping… My favorites are :

– My Garmin 410 :)
-My Brooks D’Lite Racer 2.5-inch shorts! So great for sum me running. I will be sad when it’s too cold to wear these…
-My Asics GT 2000s…I’m on my 4th pair!
– My iPod shuffle

That’s just a few of the faves !

Reply

Only thing I would add is my asthma inhaler. I also really like my Camelback waterbottle for Spinning.

Do you have any issues using your Bluebuds and Garmin at the same time? My husband recently bought me the Bluebuds and for some reason they reset about every 30 seconds when I’m wearing my Garmin but they are perfectly fine when I don’t have it on.

And finally…I’ve lived in Louisville for 10 years and today I had my first donut from Nord’s after reading your review. I asked a coworker who lives in that area to pick them up on her way to the office, now I have 2 dozen to choose from!

Reply

I love my Nike Frees! I couldn’t live without them.
Speaking of GU’s –> I saw a salted watermelon flavor?! I am not sure if I should buy it or not!

Reply

I’ve tried it & it’s not bad! I prefer the salted caramel, but if you want a fruity one it’s good :-)

Reply

Cute workout clothes (DUH!), my yoga mat, my garmin, annnnd dumbbells. I’m pretty simple with workout gear haha ;) And I have a foam roller but haven’t ever used it! For shame, I know. I’ll be using it along with your video ASAP! :)

xo

Reply

i absolutely love my nike tempo shorts! i think i have them in 6 colors. i even wear them when i’m not working out… oops :)

Reply

Garmin 220 – just upgraded still not sure how to use it but love the purple
Oiselle winona running tank- just bought at Boston expo because I am all about Kara Goucher and now I cannot run without it!
Nathan handheld water bottle – it comes with a waterproof pocket for my phone, which I need for long runs & music
Nike skorts
Chica/Sweaty band headbands
feetures socks
Ravenna’s – 4th pair of shoes since my stress fracture hopefully they will make the cut.

Janae, can we do a list like this for music? Starting MCM training and working on a new playlist.

Thanks!

Reply

Garmin watch, C9 running socks, Body Glide, Under Armour sports bra, Oakley’s, I’m not brand specific for my shoes, shorts, or tops. My fav’s though are probably Asics and Lululemon.

Reply

I love Violet Love headbands to keep my hair and sweat out of my face, my phone for music, and I’m really liking The Stick. It feels more like a massage than foam rolling does for me. Using The Stick is a pain level of about a 5, whereas foam rolling is about a 9 lol. So maybe foam rolling is better for you? I don’t know.

And I just got my first Garmin! It’s the forerunner 15 and I already love the crap out of it!

Reply

I totally agree with the stick vs. the foam roller. I sometimes foam roll extra sensitive areas against a wall (leaning vs. putting all my weight on it). It brings the pain level down until I can get it worked out enough to roll on the floor. (And I have no idea which is better — Someone once told me the stick was more for warming up before a run and the foam roller was more for recovery. This person had no “credentials”, so take it for what it’s worth).

Reply

Must have items: my Garmin for running/walking, my Garmin for swimming and my waterproof shuffle. I love knowing how far I have gone and I love good music to keep me motivated!

I would say my Saucony shoes but I have been dealing with so many injuries. My husband keeps telling me I should look for new shoes but I have no idea how to even begin to know what I need….

Reply

foam roller!

Reply

I’m not super needy when it comes to running – just something comfortable to wear and shoes! I would love some of those Jaybird headphones though, and that river!!

Reply

The cold river is my favorite of your favorites! Too funny!

For me, I have 2 pair of Old Navy (I know, but I’m serious) activewear shorts that are PERFECT. I got them for $5, was astounded at how incredible they are and good they feel and they are lined! So I went directly to the store and bought another. I run in them more than anything else.

Neon pink and yellow Saucony sneaks my hubs bought me for Christmas. The colors make me happy (and visible) and they’re comfortable on the treadmill.

And last but not least, Bondi Bands! I bought these at my first half marathon, at Disney. One is pink and glittery with white polka dots, and the other is black with the word ‘FIGHT’ in hot pink on it. I have extremely long hair and I sweat a lot, so these really save me from going blind on hot days.

:) Happy Tuesday!

Reply

MIZUNOS without a doubt, I tried switching from the wave rider’s but my feet hurt instantly. I will never stray again. <3 A few months ago I would have said my Garmin, but I've been loving the "free running" thing lately, so probably my (annoyingly cordy) earphones!

Reply

Foam roller for sure! And I love my Nordstrom’s capris, Reebok top, and Fabletics shorts.

Reply

the picture of you all in the cold river gets me every time…like straight up goosebumps! the main thing i couldn’t run without is a hat/sweat band because this girl can sweeeeat. also my music and good running shoes!

Reply

My list:
Brooke’s Pure Cadence shoes
Spibelt (it even holds my iPhone)
For long runs my Nathan handheld water bottle

Reply

I received my Garmin as a gift from my siblings a couple years ago and it has been the best – I can’t stand to run (or even go for walks) without it! I also love my foam roller and pro compression socks.

Reply

My pink garmin forerunner and brooks ghost shoes are my two must haves. Also, my old iPhone that now used as an iPod :)

Reply

I cannot live without my FitBit one. That little think is awesome and I love seeing how many steps I’ve taken each day and how my sleep was each night.

Reply

Just my New Balance Fesh Foams – no Garmin or music needed. A handheld water bottle is so,stomped necessary if it’s really hot!

Reply

Uuumm… Spellcheck, much? I meant a handheld water bottle is sometimes necessary if it’s hot. :)

Reply

Brooks pure flows & Glycerins & cascadias
swiftwick zero socks// pro compression marathon socks
Brooks glycerin skirt & 2-in-1 shorts
oiselle scantron & winona tanks
Garmin forerunner 10/garmin forerunner 310
spiBelt
nathan handheld/ zeal vest for trail running
honey stinger chews
halo headbands/hats

Reply

lately I’ve been obsessed with listening to audiobooks while I run! (weird, maybe?) it keeps my mind off the running and I’m learning something at the same time- multitasking for the WIN!

Reply

My list is fairly similar to yours —
1) I was a kickstarter for the new BIA sport GPS (made for women/by women) and I love it.
2) One of my 8 running hats. Probably my favorite though is my “Run U Mother” one.
3) I’m a Brooks fan as well. Have about 4 pair going right now. Mostly Adrenalines, but I recently got a pair of the PureFlows.
4) Haven’t tried the Salted Caramel Gu, but I’m loving the Chocolate Peanut Butter one right now. I alternate between those and Clif ShotBloks.
5) B12 vitamins. Otherwise I tend to get headaches.
6) Stick
7) Foam Roller
8) Compression Socks
9) Brooks neon yellow running vest (for the pockets and visibility when I run on the road)
10) My Oiselle arm warmers

Reply

Oh man, I may have to jump on the boat and write a post on this too. Fun!!!! First thing that comes to mind is definitely my Mizuno shoes and my phone. :) I don’t know how people run without music. Love ya friend!!!!!

Reply

Definitely my Garmin! Though I am looking to upgrade! Also, I have a pair of Saucony shorts and matching top that I love! Lots of pockets, fits perfectly, doesn’t chaff and is super cute.

Reply

The only thing I really need is the right pair of shoes. Adidas all the way these days! Although, I do think I could like and use those ear buds, I need to check them out.

Reply

Brooks GTS Adrenaline
Runtastic app (on phone)
Interval timer (on phone) for my run:walk:run ratios
And hopefully soon I’ll get the forerunner 220 (purple one). I’ve wanted one for a long time just haven’t been able to get it yet :)

Reply

The salted caramel GU is the best! you need to try the newest one they have… salted watermelon. It’s delicious, and the only thing I’ve used on my long runs lately!

Reply

LOVE Brooks as well, they are the best. I used to obsess over Nikes but I tried the PureConnect series and haven’t gone back since! Also I love my Merrell zero drops and Vibrams because I’m nerdy like that.

Rumble Roller (foam roller on steroids) and The Stick are absolutely necessary for me to grind the nastiness out of my muscles during high mileage weeks. Also I love a good tennis ball self-massage!

My Nike dry-fit running hat is my newest necessity, it keeps the sun and sweat out of my eyes while protecting my face from the sun and keeping my hair in check.

So jealous of that cold stream!

Reply

LOVE THIS!!!

1) My purple Garmin 220
2) ALL my Saucony running shoes (Ride 6 for long runs, Virrata for easy runs, Kinvara 4 for speed work, A5 for short races… I know, I have a problem).
3) Vaseline, for the chafing
4) My pink foam roller
5) Amphipod handeled water bottle
6) Saucony runderpants (soooo comfy!)
7) Lemon lime Gatorade mixed w/ Pedialyte to survive when running in the summer in NYC
8) Lululemon groovy run shorts/Nike rival short 4″/ Oiselle Distance shorts… really, all comfy shorts with tons of pocket!
9) Balega ultra-light socks (the best!)
10) Camelbak Mini M.U.L.E. Children’s Hydration Pack – I remove the bladder and use it as a backpack during my destination long-runs

Reply

1. My Nike sports bras – otherwise I get crazy chafing in some of my most sensitive places!! Lol!
2. My Zulu pink water bottle – glass, so no absorbed flavors and a rubber casing to keep it protected! I don’t run with it, but it’s vital to keep me hydrated throughout the day!
3. My Brooks PureCadence3’s – heaven shoes! Lightweight with the perfect amount of support for me.
4. GU Espress Love – omg! Love this flavor… it’s like coffee flavored pudding!
5. My love in the Texas summertime – ProForm 995i with iFit treadmill – keeps me running even when it’s 100+ degrees and 99% humidity. :)
6. Of course my chocolate milk… I always have to have some after a run!
7. When I’m running outside – my Garmin 410 is pretty awesome. I’ve even used it to track my altitude levels when I am visiting the mountains in Germany :) Just for fun we go on a “run” at the top of the mountain. Haha

That was a fun comment thread :)

Reply

The flipbelt! I wear it with everything, and nothing bounces around. I want those earbuds!

Reply

I absolutely couldn’t do it without my compression sleeves. Other things: my phone/runkeeper, headphones, my brooks, my handheld water bottle, margarita shot bloks, and salt packets!

Reply

Right now my running gear is my Asics shoes (the only ones narrow enough for me), my Bluebuds X (on your recommendation!), and my belt pouch (for races). This stuff used to be really important to me, but it doesn’t seem to matter as much now.

That clipcase sounds interesting, though, I might have to check it out.

Reply

Great write up!

Reply

I took your recommendation on the bluetooth headphones a few months ago and I LOVE them. Not only for running, it’s so awesome not to have to deal with a cord in the gym.

I absolutely love my Brooks PureFlow 2s, Oiselle Winona Tank, Garmin Forerunner 10 (though I’m lusting after the new TomTom with built-in heart rate monitor – no chest strap!), and Athleta Relay Capris. I have a ridiculous amount of running stuff/gear, but those are my favorites!

Reply

1. My Garmin 210. So essential for outdoor runs and rides!
2. Lululemon speed short. comfortable and worth the money, in my opinion.
3. i need new headphones!! I’m going to check out online the ones that you use, because 1) mine sometimes fall out of my ears, and 2) although they’re good sound quality, they haven’t been living up to their warranty for the second time in a row now!
4. Asics shoes. I swear by them! Nike’s just don’t work for my long and narrow feet.
5. Swiss/Exercise ball. You can do so many core exercises with this piece of equipment. It really helped my core improve a ton!

Reply

I love this post and reading all the comments has been fun. I love my Garmin forerunner 10. Its funny because I hate the touch bezel of my old Garmin – i used to keep bumping it all the time. Love that the forerunner 10 comes in pretty colours and has buttons. By the way I haven’t commented for a few days – congrats on the divorce being officially over – what a relief for you.

I like the Espresso Love and Salted Watermelon Gu

I have a Garmin 110. It’s my first running watch and I like it but hate how long it can take to pick up my location. I plan to upgrade next year, I think.

Oh my gosh I just wrote a post about this on Friday. Great minds think alike! It was a ‘Friday Favorites’ post and in it I mentioned the following as my favorite summer workout things:

“For shorts, I basically only wear Nike Tempo Shorts. I find them to be the most comfortable, and they have tons (read: too many) adorable colors and patterns to choose from. Now, that’s not to say I’m not willing to try other brands/styles, but these are just what I love and have the most (read: too many) of.

For tops, I like to wear breathable tanks in the summer heat. I’m not super fussy about these as long as they aren’t super long (or super short), tight, or thick. I have a bunch of awesome Nike tanks of different styles, plus a few from Target that I love!

For sports bras, I have a few go-to’s. My top choice is probably any from the Target C9 line. I don’t really have a long list of requirements, and these are beyond adorable and super supportive, so they’re winners in my book! I also have a few UnderArmour, Nike, and Old Navy sports bras that I really like, so clearly I’m easy to please in this department.

For shoes, I mix it up a lot depending on what kind of run I’m doing. I wear anything from Mizuno Wave Inspires (I went through 8 pairs of these in high school!), to Nike Frees, to Brooks PureCadence, and all three of those are my favorites for different reasons. What running shoes a person wears is based on a lot of personal factors such as arch size, pronation, foot strike, etc, as well as personal style!”

* Janae, I love your list and will definitely be using it as a reference when I purchase some new fitness things (aka do the best kind of shopping there is) :)

I absolutely cannot live without the ‘speed short’ from lululemon. My mom and I are obsessed and as soon as it’s clean we get excited and wear it again!

I have that same running watch, but now I totally feel like I’ve not been taking advantage of any of its options…up until now. I can’t wait to figure it out on my next run!! Thanks :)

My waist belt.
My iPhone
My sport bra
I always have my phone because I use the Runkeeper app and I hate feeling the phone move in my pockets so my waist belt is key And a good supportive sport bra is absolutely essential. I did a post about this last week too. I can run short distances or run sporadically in regular sneakers but I can’t run further than down the block without having a good sport bra.
