I am very proud of the fact that I have mastered Brooke’s bun. I can barely brush my hair but when it comes to Brooke’s hair, I have it all figured out.
My Little Pony stole the show for the object that kept Brooke’s attention the longest on the airplane.
We left the house at 6 a.m. and got to Louisville at 5:30 pm (because of some flight delays). Brooke was a little exhausted by the time we got there.
My brother, his wife and his oldest little girl. They are pretty much the best ever.
I got to see where my brother works:) This is one of the planes that he flies.
They drove me and Brooke straight to my brother’s favorite restaurant in Louisville. Havana Rumba… a delicious Cuban restaurant.
I wish I could put that garlic butter on everything I eat from this point forward.
I told my brother to order our meals because I hate making decisions but I told him that I did need guacamole at some point.
A raspberry shake and guac with plantain chips!
And the star of the night… fried plantains and some crazy delicious meat and vegetable dish. I can see why this is his favorite spot.
This is my first time ever being to Kentucky and I can’t get over how gorgeous it is and last night I had my first experience with lightning bugs, we don’t have those in Utah.
I am glad my nieces think of me as HRG:)
Kazoozles waiting on the kitchen counter for me.
And after all of the kids went to bed we watched this hilarious show. Absolutely hilarious.
PS THIS article offers GREAT advice for marathon recovery! Even though we may feel good after a marathon and like we aren’t sore, there is still damage that has occurred that needs to recover before it is a good idea to run again. They said that research shows that it takes TWO full weeks for muscles to return to full strength after a marathon.
Check it out if you are looking for a great way to get back to training after the marathon (this is what I will be using when I start running back up again!)
Off to Churchill Downs for some horse races!
What is the best part of your Thursday going to be?
How many different states have you been to!?!
Who has been to a Kentucky Derby or any horse races?
Do you live in a humid area? If yes, HOW DO YOU RUN IN THE HUMIDITY!?!
-Nope.. super dry in Utah and I noticed the humidity in Kentucky the second I got off of the plane!
