I need your help with an important matter.

Just the usual dance party with my sister in the driveway.  When dancing we both do the robot for 90% of the time.  It is kind of our signature move.

The monthly niece date went down last night.

IMG 3065

One of my nieces is here visiting from Kentucky and so I let her choose where we went for dinner and dessert.

Cafe Rio love runs in my family’s blood.  We can’t help our genetics.

Brooke now says CHEESE and smiles as big as she can when I get the camera out.

IMG 3068

And for dessert she chose to go for dipped ice cream cones

IMG 3073

And last but not least, we went on a walk and along the way we saw that the porta potties for the marathon are already set up along the course.  Things are getting serious.

IMG 3110

After dropping my three dates off it was Netflix (Scrubs:) for me followed by an early bed time because at least I can control getting enough sleep before the race!

I could not agree more with this (except there needs to be an easy running % too):

NewImage

As Josse pointed out, the Marathon Gods are watching out for us by giving us cooler temps for race day.

IMG 3050

MOST IMPORTANTLY… I need your help on deciding my race day outfit because it is such an important matter that needs serious consideration.

Which one!?!

1,2,3 or decide the morning of because it really isn’t that big of a deal;)

IMG 3114

Finish the sentence:  I am stoked for this weekend because _________________.

Who is racing this weekend?  Where?  What?

I’m excited for the weekend because I’ll get to go on a long walk & get an ice cream cone with my husband & baby (well, sadly, no ice cream for baby yet!). My son will be six weeks old on Sunday–so that’s exciting too! Can’t wait to start running again!

Ideal race temp=55. Yay!

Outftit 1! Simple! :)

#2! I love the back of top #3 but I think it would be too hot with the black.

Good luck!!! You’ll do awesome, no doubt.

I stoked for this weekend because I am going to Cape Cod to see my dad – walk along the bike path, go for ice cream, watch t.v., jump in the pool/ocean. Awesome.

#2 as I have the same tank top and I adore it – so comfy! Actually: distance shorts from #1 and tank top from #2 ;)

My favorite temps to run in are between 65 and 73 degrees. Warm enough I’m comfortable in a tank and shorts, cool enough I’m not sweating buckets!

Reply

girlfriend where did you get the middle & right pairs of shorts? you can’t just sneak cute stuff in like that & not share where they’re from ;)

Reply

Hahahah thank you! Middle is oiselle and right is brooks!

Reply

gracias! :) you’re gonna look fab in all of them, obviously.

Reply

Def outfit #2- Gryffindor colors! Good luck tomorrow!

Yellow vest, patterned shorts…. Good luck from the south coast of England :)

Good luck this weekend!! I’m super excited to find out how the pool running treated you. And I’m loving #3 with the print shorts! :)

I like #1

I’m running my first half marathon tomorrow, and I’m scared & excited at the same time. It’s a small race, but when the rules include “Any runner stealing a horse to ride to the finish will be disqualified” I think it’s a good sign. (We’re running through farmland near the Rocky Mountains in Alberta).

Reply

Go with the most comfortable outfit… Race day is way too big to get annoyed by funny clothing rubs by mile 7!
I am stoked for this weekend because it is cousin weekend! My two nephews are in town for my kids…
Still no running for another four weeks… drat that doctor! She has robbed me of eight weeks of blissful mental detox!!

Reply

#3. The tank is so cute and I love the shorts! I’ll be sending you good vibes on your marathon as I run the Lake of the Woods 15K in Oregon!

Reply

I like #1, the blue is a pretty color.

I’m excited for this weekend cause I’m going to a Word Camp on Saturday.

Reply

Good luck, Janae! I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow and sending you speedy thoughts!
I like the oiselle shorts (plus they have a bunch of pockets!) with tank #2!

Thanks for being the “is pool running as awesome as they say?” guinea pig for the rest of us!

Reply

Move your yellow tank to your #3 shorts. :)

Reply

I’m super excited for this weekend because my hubby and I will be moving into our first house! I feel like a grown up just saying it… hehe

#2- Bright and happy like you :)

Reply

#3! I am racing this weekend…my first 12k! Tacoma, WA Sound 2 Narrows!

Reply

You need to wear purple because I have done many clinical studies (while running) that prove that 99% of the time wearing purple makes you run faster every time.

Reply

#3- Those shorts are fab!

Reply

#3…Have fun and finish with a smile. Trail race on Sun. in Hebron, CT. :)

Reply

# 2 – cute combo

Reply

I am such a pain, but I like the yellow shirt and the black shorts. Out of the three options you gave, I would pick #1. I hope you have a fun day!

Reply

Love #3 but as someone mentioned if it’s going to be hot black may not be the best idea, so I like #2.

Reply

I’d say #2 (Yellow = sunny, bright, positive!).

But I don’t know what your shoes and socks are gonna look like??

Reply

My dear! I am so happy you made it to the start line! All outfits are super fast looking, so I don’t think you can go wrong. I’m stoked for this weekend because…

I’M RUNNING MY FIRST UTAH VALLEY MARATHON!

Hope to see you there! Best of luck, speedy pants.

Reply

I’m loving that far right outfit!!!! I’d love a pair of those awesome shorts! :D Super duper luck tomorrow Janae!

Reply

I am stoked this weekend because I am taking the twins to Australia’s first autism friendly performance of The Lion King – I’m pumped!!!
Good luck in your marathon if you decide to go ahead. If you decide your injury means you aren’t ready – that takes a lot of strength to make that decision too.
Good luck either way. And either outfit 2 or 3 – both are gorgeous.

Reply

It’s adorable that the nieces are holding hands in that picture.
RED dipped cones?! Strawberry or red-colored chocolate?

Outfit #2!

Good luck!!!!!

Reply

I’m hoping I can get used to running in shorts soon. I got chaffed really bad on my upper… upper thigh (lol), after my second long to me run… a 10k.

Reply

Good luck on the race!! #3. Love those shorts!!!

Reply

#2 to match your sunny disposition. Have a great race tomorrow! You are going to crush it.
Ideal temp is about 45 degrees. Prefer running in the cold than in the heat.

Reply

Good luck! I say outfit 3.

And, I did not need to know Scrubs was on Netflix! ;) one more show to add to my netflix queue.

Reply

Didn’t you once do a whole post about how your run faster in yellow? Maybe I ‘m remembering something else. Either way, good luck!

Reply

You are soooooooo right!!!!!

Reply

Wear #2, the bright yellow with make you stand out. I’m racing this weekend also, a 50k in the Marin Headlands in the SF Bay area. My first Ultra distance! Race is tomorrow as well, so I’m there with ya in tapering, eating too many carbs and over-hydrating. You’ll be great tomorrow! Your body can do a lot more than your mind will tell you it can, push through the mental games and go for it!

Reply

Good luck for tomorrow! I’d go for outfit no. 3, love the shorts!

I am stoked for the weekend because I’m in Brazil right now visiting family and got tickets to see the soccer game Ecuador vs. Switzerland in Brasilia. Excited!!

Reply

I’m running a 10 miler tomorrow. I’m jealous of the weather you will have! Its supposed to be in the 80s here. I vote for outfit #2. And I love those “marathon facts”! Best of luck!! You will do great!

Reply

Outfit #1! Good luck tomorrow. I’m sure you will do fantastic. I am stoked for the weekend because tomorrow is my Friday and I need a day off.

Reply

The outfit on the right!

Reply

#2 love bright colors! Will help your cheering section find you!

Reply

I love #3 but those are my favorite colors ever. Neutrals. S’pose it’s too hot for black? So cute. I’d wear it anyway. But I am known for really bad decisions that way.

Reply

Outfit #2, for sure.

I am stoked for this weekend because I have no set plans, other than a group trail run on Saturday morning. But that’s fun, so it doesn’t count :)

My ideal racing temperature is probably around 50 degrees. I’d rather be a little chilly than too hot when I run.

Reply

#1!!!

Reply

Number 2! Best of luck tomorrow!

Reply

Ideal racing temp is in the 50s. Wear the yellow! You’ll do so awesome!!!!!!!!

Reply

#2 for sure! Good luck tomorrow and have fun!

Reply

#3! And I’m stoked to go to Toronto Island with a friend and have a picnic. :)

Reply

I like #2 because the yellow is bright and everyone will be able to spot you. It will be hot though so wear whatever is most breathable. I am doing a 5K with my 22 year old baby tomorrow, her first race, and my first race since my hip stress fracture in Feb. so I psyched for both of us! Just think next Friday night this will be behind you and you will be able to relax next weekend – and plan your next race lol.

Reply

#1 because I have the same tank in coral ;)

Reply

Girl, it’s too not for black. #2 is the smarter choice. Have a GREAT race!

Reply

I love the shorts in outfit #3! I pick #2 so your friends and family can find you easily as you run by in a blurr!

I am stoked for this weekend because it’s “Miles’ Annual Pancake Run” and friends from three different running groups will be running together!

Reply

3! Those shorts are the best! Where can I snag some?

I am racing a 10k for fun in the morning.

Reply

I vote for #2 for two reasons. First, I seem to recall your Mom got you that top from a previous post and if that ‘s the case, then it’s always great to have Mom’s support with you on course. Second, it’s my high school colors. I ran cross country in high school and sported those colors as I developed my love for running. That’s got to be a good sign! Regardless of what outfit you choose, good luck! Trust the process and enjoy the day! Can’t wait for the recap.

Reply

#1! Have fun tomorrow!

Reply

outfit number 3. yay. i’m so excited for you! ;-)

Reply

I vote the 3rd outfit with the cute shorts. Good luck on your race! I’ll be cheering from China for you!

Reply

Number 3! LOVE those shorts! All of the luck in the race- you’ll nail it!!!

Reply

Good luck today!!! I will be thinking about you as I run the Oakley Mini 10K in Central Park this morning! xoxo

Reply

I vote for #2. I am stoked for this weekend as it’s actually a non-race weekend for me and it’s raining all weekend. That means I can finally concentrate on indoor projects OR watch Netflix all weekend! Either way…it’s a win!!

Good luck tomorrow….I just know your miles in the pool will serve you well!

Reply

Finish the sentence: I am stoked for this weekend because its my niece GRADUATION party today and the family is racing in a Literacy race today before the party! Lots of 1st time runners… Excited!
We are racing a 10K but most of my fam is doing K.. You can do either distance.
I totally understand the clothing issue… I am debating right now between long sleeves and short cause its only going to be 50 at race start… hummm Then the day gets perfect and high 70s for the party!
Ideal racing temp 60!

I am stoked for the weekend because… my husband, our son (in the jogging stroller), and I just ran our first 10k together as a family! And it’s Father’s Day this weekend, which means family + food. Perfect.

Niece dates look like so much fun – those girls look like they had a blast! And they can be best friends when they grow up and have girls’ nights together :)

Reply

Where are those black and tan shorts from?! Love.

Reply

Love the niece date tradition. They’re all so beautiful.

Reply

Reply

I love that the nieces are so close in age- looks like they always have a great time together!

Reply

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I
find this topic to be actually something which I
think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me.

I am looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
