This better not be a normal thing!

My teenager self would question my sanity if I knew that in the future my idea of weekend fun would be running 15 miles at 5:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning.  My garmin died during the last mile so I am not sure what my average pace was but I am guessing around an 8:00 min/mile.  LOVED talking with these girls but for the first time in a while I had some stomach issues during my run… this better not be a normal thing.

My jacket is quite reflective.  That is exciting.  (PS I didn’t put make-up on to go running… it’s called I have gotten extremely lazy and got out of the habit of washing my make-up off when I get home late the night before).

Tis’ the season:

And we went to Cafe Rio with my mom to celebrate the fact that it was Saturday and we all really like Saturdays.

I don’t even know how to describe how much I loved going to Les Mis last night.  If I could, I would go see this a thousand times.  I cried a river and I am pretty sure I had goosebumps during 90% of the songs.

My sister was brilliant and made sure to unwrap all of the chocolates and put them back in the bag before it started so that we wouldn’t make any noise during the musical.  She is doing her YOLO gang sign.

Of course we had to get pictures with the actors afterwards.

HUGE HUGE HUGE CONGRATS TO JANICE!!!!!!

BRILLIANT idea about the candy wrappers-how did I now know this???

The worst part about putting makeup on is knowing you will have to take it off when you least feel like it.

Reply

Wow that sounds like a great weekend so far. I actually ran 15 miles yesterday too and it really wiped me out for some reason. It wasn’t any faster or slower than usual but I was feeling it. I hope your stomach issues are nothing too serious too!

Have a great Sunday Janae!

Les Mis is one of the few musicals that I know very well, but haven’t seen yet. shocking! I would say that it is a tie between Phantom of the Opera and Wicked. Those two I have seen numerous times :-)

Only plans I have for today are laundry and going to a kids consignment store to sell some stuff

Reply

I NEVER wash my face at night before I go to bed. I onow everyone says I should but I break out worse if I wash my face too much.

Not sure what my favorite musical is I love them all so much. Wicked, Mamma Mia, Rent etc. I don’t think I can choose.

3 things: goig to Starbucks to work on my dissertation (I love going to coffee shops and I get ao much more done)
Going to the grocery store
Playing in a soccer game

Rent or Wicked. Classic and amazing. Actually I may belt out aren’t during food prep this afternoon.

My favorite play is Phantom Of The Opera,
I got to see it in NYC in 2003 and had goose bumps the entire time. I love Le Mis but have never seen it live, I’m sure I would ball like a baby too.
Today I’m going for a run, cleaning out my drawers and picking up Troy from the airport. Happy Sunday!!

I’m so impressed by your friend, Janice! What an incredible accomplishment! Congratulations Janice!

I have always ALWAYS wanted to see that and I have always always wanted to go the theater or the opera:):) jealous and glad you enjoyed it so much!

Three things-going for a short run, having. Family dinner with my husbands family, and …? Lol I can’t think of anything else!
Enjoy your day!!

Of course there’s Les Mis and Wicked. We listened to musicals all the time growing up. Fiddler on the Roof and South Pacific have some good songs. My Dad loves music and at one point told the girls he thought we should be a country singing group. We never listened to country music on the radio when we were younger.

That’s my unsolicited RANDOM for the week.

Makes me miss my Orem sister.

Reply

I love seeing any musical or play live! The energy is so much fun! The Sound of Music is one of my favorites.

Three things today – walk with the pooch (taking it easy after my half yesterday), grocery store and (finally) cleaning out all the gross tupperwares in the fridge. Lets not discuss how long some of them have been in there…

Reply

I haven’t really been to a musical or play in AGES! Maybe I need to add this to my to-do list again soon :)

It’s always a great day when you start with a 15 mile run!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I cry everytime I see Les Miserables and I’ve seen it five times. Yeah, it’s like that. Also Wicked

Les Mis is one of my all-time favorite things ever! So glad you enjoyed the performance. What production did you see? If you like musicals you should watch Into the Woods. It’s on Netflix.

Reply

Congratulations, Janice! What an accomplishment and 2nd place? WOW! You are a good friend for pacing her part of the way. I have yet to see a production of Les Mis but have seen The Phantom of the Opera a few times – my FAVORITE! Unwrapping loud candy before play/movie starts is a brilliant idea. Reply

You saw the same cast of Les Miz as we did. They were absolutely incredible! I loved it so much, I bought tickets to see it one more time before it ends.

Reply

I sleep in my makeup too! Some days it still looks ok in the morning so I don’t even touch it up, just go out with it again! Probably a bad habit, haha.

Reply

I got to see Mary Poppins on Broadway and that was pretty awesome. Spamalot and Chicago were pretty great, too. :)

Running, dishes and laundry…. and searching for a place to live when the hubs and I move in June to Louisville, KY! Have a relaxing Sunday!! :)

Reply

Favorite musical is either Lion King or Beauty and the Beast. I am typically not a huge Disney fan and have seen probably over 100 musicals, but these 2 on Broadway had some of the best costumes and set design I have ever seen. Both were completely brilliant.

1. Insane leg workout my brother/trainer calls “Leg Crank”
2. Even more leg torture with a spin class
3. Lunch with the parents to fuel it all.

Reply

We went to the symphony last night. Even though you asked for things we were doing today, that was so fun and out of the norm it beats the run, grocery shop, and read book I am doing today. Although I love all those things dearly.

Reply

Favorite musical: Wicked, and any musical that my kids are in; they’ve been in “High School Musical”, “Honk jr.”, and “Beauty and the Beast Jr” with the local theater.
3 things I’m doing today: Studying for the July Bar Exam, going to the gym, cleaning part of the house. Not exciting, but necessary

1. Church 2. Maine Maple Syrup Sunday! 3. Birthday party for my dad

Reply

Three things I am doing today: calling my mom because it is her birthday, laundry, and working on some art projects. :]

unwrapping the chocolates is SO smart! Having noisy wrappers in a quiet room is the most awkward thing ever…

Reply

Way to go to your friend Janice!

Also, why have I never thought of the whole unwrap-before-a-movie thing!? Brilliant your sister.

1. Ran my first trail race!!! In LOVE. 2. Watched church online. 3. RICE’ing for most of the remainder of the day. (I did a race yesterday, too, whoops :)

Hope your tummy feels better! Have a great Sunday HRG

Reply

That is such an amazing accomplishment for Janice!!
Three things I am doing today are grocery shopping, foam rolling, and making pizza for dinner!

Reply

I love Singing in the Rain- I know the film pretty much line for line- and saw it in stage in London last summer and it was fabulous!

I like early Saturday morning runs- it gets it out of the way- this weekend I got up at 4:40am and ran 32km. Mind you, I’m shattered after that!

Reply

Les Mis is the best show!! I love all the music :)!

Reply

My favorite musical is Jersey Boys. I saw it in NYC last year. Rocks!!! Been wanting to see Les Mis too. I’m blogging, cycling and meal prepping today!

Reply

Wow I can’t even imagine running 100 miles! That’s incredible. My favorite musical is probably mama Mia. I had so much fun watching it.

Reply

I need to find some running buddies. I run solo most of the time, and it would be nice to have company sometimes.

So far today, I’ve been relaxing, catching up on my favorite blogs, writing, and icing my injured foot. :-( Today is supposed to be my speed work day, but unless this pain subsides, I’ll be lucky to at least get some cross training in. I may get super ambitious and go grocery shopping later.

A 100-mile race may end up on my bucket list. For now, I’m working on improving my time for the marathon and 5Ks.

Reply

I’ve seen Les Miserables and loved it! Such an amazing story!

Today I’ve been doing homework (life of a grad student is not fun), food prepping for the week so I don’t get lazy with my meals, and laundry. Not fun but definitely productive. Not even enough time to fit in a workout, but forced rest days are a good thing sometimes.

Reply

That is crazy about your friend!! Great job to her! And Les Mis is my all time favorite! I am glad you loved it! :)

Reply

Congratulations to Janice! That is amazing!

I went to my daughter’s school’s auction last night, which involved wearing nice clothes, doing my hair (my hair is 90% of the time in a braid and I live in workout clothes) and wearing make up. I forced myself to wash it off and brush thought the tangles of knots in my hair, before bed, and realized why I don’t do my hair and wear make up.

Today:
Ran 11.5
Went to Trader Joe’s
Going to watch Frozen with my daughter and eat TJ oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

Reply

Your sister is a genius!!!

Big congrats to Jancie! I was following her IG updates and I told myself during my 20 miler today that if she could run 100 miles I surely could get through 20…and it worked!!!

Reply

Wow I can’t imagine running 100 miles! CONGRATS JANICE!! :)

Assemble new treadmill (yay!)
Go grocery shopping
Organize closet

100 miles! Holy crap! Congratulations to your friend!

Three things I’m doing today: organizing the house some more after moving a ton of furniture and getting ready for the baby yesterday, going for a run with Bungee, and finding more books to read.

Reply

Congrats to your friend Janice!

Haha I love the chocolate wrapper idea- so smart!! I feel like there’s always someone at shows with a cough drop and you can hear it SO LOUDLY haha.

Reply

Love Wicked!! And Phantom of the Opera!

Reply

Les Miserables has and always will be my absolute favorite. I’ve seen it at least 20 times onstage (starting when I was 3!) and while I go through “phases” with other musicals, I’m always in the mood for Les Miz!

Reply

hum does Frozen count as a musical? Favorite movie ever.

OMG getting second place in her first ever 100 mile.. that is insane!! even finishing a single 100 mile run is incredible let alone to place let alone second. I’m in awe.

Reply

Ok. Unwrapping your candy before the movie/show starts is about the best thing I have learned in a LONG time. I cannot tell you how many times I have sat in a movie theater and wasted the first 10-15 minutes of the movie trying to be super quiet while unwrapping my smuggled goods. Never again! :)
