I started a fire.

I think being able to jump on the trampoline all by herself for 20 minutes straight officially classifies Brooke as a toddler.

IMG 0013

She was so proud of herself.

IMG 0022

After practice she was exhausted so she took a quick nap in the foam pit with me.

IMG 0027

I had approximately 4 minutes to make dinner and this is what I came up with plus a banana and thai peanut dressing on the chicken/sweet potato.  Bananas are back in my life after the awful rotten banana experience that I had a few weeks ago.

IMG 0032

I had to run to Target to get some diapers for Brooke and I came across these little girl running shorts.  I need these in my size.  Amazing.

IMG 8744

Cazookie night.  You can buy these awesome cazookie pans HERE!  I highly recommend them.  They are so easy to use and they cook the cookie perfectly.

IMG 0034

Topped with ice cream and a little Sherlock on the projector.

IMG 0036

During the first batch some of the cookie overflowed to the bottom of the oven and so a minor fire may have happened during the second batch.  Lesson learned—> always put a cookie sheet on the rack below the cookies when you are baking them because they do tend to overflow a little bit (or I should just try not to put so much cookie dough in each pan but I can’t help myself).

IMG 8746

And because I am super cool… I stayed up too late reading the owner’s manual for the camera that I just got.  I needed a point and shoot for when I go to Thailand and after some research I decided on THIS beautiful camera.

IMG 8748

Off to Arizona!  See you soon!

What are your Friday night plans?!?!

What type of camera do you use?

If you could have any dessert right this second, what would it be?

Friday night is going to be pizza night in our house! And maybe a movie out of the Redbox. Nothing terribly exciting, but that is totally OK by me.

I could go for a molten lava cake right about now. Even though it is 8 AM here. totally :)

Reply

I have a Nikon DSLR but I use a point and shoot on adventurous vacations or beach trips so I don’t break my fancy camera. I have one of those Olympus Tough cameras so I don’t have to worry about it hiking or anything and I’ve even taken it snorkeling!

If I could have any kind of dessert right now, it would be a piece of passion fruit rum cake that a baker friend I know makes :)

Reply

Ohhh the new camera has built in wifi for easy transfer. I just got my first DSLR a couple weeks ago and I wish it had built in wifi. I can’t wait to see your pics from Thailand, I am sure it will be an ah-mazing trip!

Tonight is my friends 30th bday party and then home early to sleep so I can get up for my run tomorrow morning :P

Reply

I have a confession. I have never had a cazookie. Shame on me!

Off to Kentucky this weekend for a high school friend’s wedding. It’s 8 am, so the best dessert I can think of right now would be a sugary belgian waffle topped with salted caramel sauce and lots of whipped cream.

Reply

Yikes! We keep tin foil at the bottom of our oven because I’ve been known to have things overflow, too. It’s never gone as far as a fire, though.

My friday night plans are probably to attempt to stay up past 9. I’m pretty wild.

I’m lame and pretty much just use my phone for my camera. I have a DSLR, too, but it just seems like such a pain to haul around.

Reply

Safe travels! I’d have a warm undercooked brownie for sure :) tonight’s plans are to go to a fish fry and stations of the cross since it’s the first Friday in lent. Then we are having a family movie night with all of my in laws!

Reply

You paused from putting out the fire to take a photo of said fire?! Ha!

You can wear those shorts. It’s amazing how big the larger little girl sizes are. And they are cheaper than womens sizes for the same thing!

We have big plans tonight! It’s my baby girl’s 13th birthday party complete with a limo, thanks to my parents. Should be fun!

The only camera I use at the moment is my iPhone. My point and shoot is 6+ years old and tends to take blurry photos now. I really need a new one. Maybe before our family vacation in July.

If I could have any dessert right this second I would have that cazookie! Seriously mail it here, please.

Reply

I have a nikon… and I probably should read the manuel because I do not use 3/4 of the functions.
Ice cream or fro yo right now would be nice :)
Seeing your gymnastic pics reminds me of when I was like in 3rd grade and took lessons :)

Reply

That cazookie looks GREAT! i could use one right now, i am SO sleepy that I would hope the chocolate would light a fire under me! oh man, TGIF!!!!

I am doing nothing tonight because it has been the longest week EVER! I run Boston as a part of the CHildren’s Hospital team, and my benefit for is this Saturday, and i’m hoping to raise at least $10,000!

Reply

Yup, officially a toddler, heck most adults cant jump on a trampoline. Man does that foam pit look comfortable. Let me be the first to day “Welcome to AZ!!”

Friday Night – Little guy turns 6 today, dinner and some presents.
Camera – Couple around the house, but our primary camera is on our phones.
Dessert Right Now – Popsicle, that would soothe my soar throat.
Arizonians – **Raises Hand** Yes, Arizonian reading right here.

I have the same camera as you I think, the Cannon Rebel T3 and I love it!!

If I could have dessert right this second it would be a peanut butter milkshake, they are my fave :) HAPPY FRIDAY!

I have a Sony DSLR and I love it! Take it everywhere but I don’t blame you for wanting a point and shoot for Thailand. If I could have dessert right now it would ice cream of course! Pizza for dinner and my daughter has a knitting class.

I am! I’m in Phoenix! I enjoy reading your blog.

Friday night plans, just relaxing, catching up on a few shows, then doing some studying, I’m so exciting haha. I use my Iphone camera a lot of the time haha but when I have a trip planned I use my canon powershot (or at least that’s what I think it is called haha) Hmmmmm I would say a Giant Apple Fritter from Apple Hill with some Vanilla Ice Cream with caramel drizzled on top :)

Reply

Brooke is such a toddler! Such a cutie! My friday night plans include working :(. I have a point and shoot camera as well and I use my cell phone! ha I would totally have some cheesecake!

Everytime you post those cazookies my mouth waters–must try.
I have a lame weekend–Army calls. So tonight I’ll be relaxing cause tomorrow is an icnredibly long day.

oh my god, I need that cazookie pan! Love the foam pit nap picture, what a place to conk out.

Reply

My husband has that camera and it’s great!!! I really need to try a Cazookie.

Hey!!

So, I randomly found your blog a few weeks ago, and I know this will make me sound really creepy and all, but I am obsessed! I think I’ve read over 1/2 of your posts, in absolutely random order. You are just so funny, and I love that you write the way that you would talk (or at least how I would imagine you talking…)

Anyway, just wanted to say that you’re adorable, and I love reading your blog!!

My Friday night plans are probably sitting at the computer because we are snowed/iced in for the third time this week. I’m going CRAZY!! I use the camera on my phone… I would have the new Ben and Jerry’s core ice cream, and in fact I think I’ll get it right this second! I’m in North Carolina, but I’ll be going to Scottsdale for Spring Break!! (Unless we lose all of our Spring Break because of snow…)

Reply

I bought some of those running shorts for little girls at Target. $9!!! They fit perfectly (size large). I went back a few weekends ago and bought two pair of ladies running shorts (in my real size) and I love them better than Nike.

If I could have any dessert right now it would be a hot brownie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Yum.

Reply

I just recently bought the Samsung Smart Camera. There was a deal on Groupon so I couldn’t resist. I have not been able to use it yet because I need a memory card. UGH! So stupid! #firstworldproblems

Reply

I typically only use my phone, but our Canon is great when we use it.
Tonight we have a babysitter and a friend’s bday party.
I am currently craving the vegan chocolate cake that I’m making this afternoon for said friend.
My hubby’s grandparents and cousins live in Flagstaff. I love visiting them, there are so many trails and outdoorsy stuff. It’s beautiful!

Reply

I just started my daughter in toddler gymnastics-it’s the cutest thing EVER.
No plans tonight. Hubs is working late so it will be just me and Izy doing our normal dinner-bath-bed routine.

Reply

I’ll be having a craft night with my best friend tonight! I’m not sure yet what we will make, but I’m sure we can find something on Pinterest :)

Reply

Cazookie!? I am going to have to make one of these very soon!

Have a blast in Arizona :) Brooke looks so adorable jumping on the trampoline. You have a future gymnast on the making!

Reply

Mmm that looks like the perfect dessert! Have a great trip to Arizona!

Reply

Only a blogger would take a picture before addressing the actual fire haha!!
Let me know how you like that camera! I may have some big trips coming up and definitely need a new one.
Have soo much fun in Arizona!!

Reply

LOVE Sherlock!

I have a Canon Powershot, too! I’m pretty hard on it cause I like to take it on my runs, and it has held up really well and takes good pictures for a little point-and-shoot!

Reply

I’m from AZ!!! Nice weather coming this weekend: 80 degrees!

I am planning on watching Gravity tonight…I’ve been waiting all week to see it!

I have a Canon powershot but ever since I got the iphone I have barely used it…whoops!

My favorite dessert right now is Russell Stover’s Coconut Cream Egg in dark chocolate…amazing!!!

Reply

I’m cracking up over the fact that you had to take a picture of the fire in the oven, lol.

TONIGHT: Pizza and a movie!

I use my iPhone camera for right now. Harry mentioned a couple of weeks ago that we should look into investing in a camera. Hmm…!

I want THAT…SKOOKIE!

Reply

Tonight I’ll be packing an overnight bag for myself for my girls weekend. It will include a dress and heels. But I am running before we head out so I need to lay out running gear too. And I have to pack the dog an overnight bag since he will be staying at his buddy’s house while I’m away.

I use my iPhone for day to day stuff but I am a professional photographer and use a Nikon d300 with either 24-70 f2.8 lens or my 18-200 5.6 lens. It’s heavy so only comes out for special occasions or work related gigs.

I need a cazookie pan and I would say a fresh warm chocolate chip cookie is one of my favorites. I also had dark chocolate creme brûlée last week. Amazing!!

Reply

oh my gosh, I would FREAK if I caught anything on fire! Granted I live alone in a big apartment building so 1) I’d have to fix it myself so that 2) everyone else’s stuff doesn’t get burnt to a crisp!

Reply

Friday night is all about a getaway to Portland, Oregon and a night on the town with my hubby to celebrate my Birthday. We are also shopping for tri bikes and athletic gear, woot woot! Have a wonderful time in Arizona!

Reply

Hahahaha, catching things on fire, that is right up my alley.

I use my Iphone for most pictures (which is lame, I know) but it’s just always more accessible than having to dig through my purse for a REAL camera and pull it out of the case and turn it on and blah blah.

I’ve been craving a Nothing Bundt Cake. Those are my FAVORITE.

Reply

I recently just had Nothing Bundt Cake for the first time a couple weeks ago. It was AMAZING!!!!

Reply

It’s INCREDIBLE!

i can’t believe your nail polish still looks so perfect! amazing! friday night will be very low key (& thankfully so). kinda need to reconnect with my partner…

banana cream pudding. any time, any place.

All of the baby and children’s clothes in Target are the cutest! I don’t have any children yet but when I go in there I want to buy baby clothes!! I love Target in general and can’t leave without buying something.

If I could have any dessert, it would be ice cream cake! The best! Or a brownie.

Have a great weekend Janae!

Reply

Tonight is quality time with the family! This week has been a bit crazy, so some downtime is needed.

I always use a point-n-shoot. I’m not camera-literate enough to do with something more confusing.

Chocolate chip cookies will forever be my weakness. Well, just about anything with chocolate in it, but especially chocolate chip cookies. My mouth started drooling once I saw your cookies. I’ll probably be craving them all day now. Thanks a lot! ;)

Reply

I need those cazookies in my life. And dang, you are so lucky to have access to a gym that let’s your toddler get her energy out. It’s too cold to be outside for very long, but I don’t have an indoor gym near me (at least, not one that’s free!).

Reply

Friday nite plans are packing to go to the cabin this weekend. I have an olympus camera, not sure of the model but it’s a very nice one.

If I could have any dessert it would be a warm brownie with vanilla ice cream, yum!

Reply

I love the Canon Power Shot! I used to run with one all the time on my “tool” belt, you know, before cell phones had a ton of space and good lenses.

Now that you mentioned dessert, I’m craving ice cream in a waffle cone. Tonight, I’m hoping the kids go to bed early, so I can catch up on Hart of Dixie, or a good old romantic comedy. Either of those will go well with Sea Salt Carmel Truffle ice cream!

I’m an Arizonan! We live in the Southeast Valley of Phoenix and the weather is going to be perfect this weekend. I’m excited about meeting a friend in the morning for a run near the riparian preserve in Gilbert. It’s going to be amazing! Have a wonderful weekend!

Reply

MMmmm cazookies are the best!!

I have that camera too–it’s great!

Reply

I don’t have that exact model, but I have the older version and my goodness is that camera awesome and versatile! You’ll be happy to know that I’ve dropped mine (on concrete) about a thousands times and it’s still a’ticking. Not that I recommend dropping it that much :)

Reply

I could go for a warm chocolate chip cookie straight from the oven topped with chocolate fudge frosting!

Reply

My Friday night plans include pizza and an early bed time! This week has worn me out!

I use my iPhone or old crappy camera right now, but I’m about to order a Canon DSLR and I am so excited!

I would have King Cake right now if I could…I ate all the one I bought last weekend!

Reply

I use an Olympus Tough camera (it is waterproof down to 30 ft and shockproof from up to 6 ft). It’s perfect for me so that my sweat doesn’t seep in, and it doesn’t break when I drop it… and I drop it at least once a week, haha.

Reply

Your dinner looks amazing!! Chicken and sweet potatoes are my go-to when I don’t want to plan out a dinner.

I have a nikon d3000. I like it, it’s pretty user friendly. My husband knows more about it than I do… I should probably read up on my manual. :)

any dessert right now? a red velvet cupcake…. and maybe one of your cazookie cookies :)

I might be moving to Tucson, AZ in June! We find out March 21. Also, you and Brooke in the foam pit = too cute.

Reply

I forgot to say that my Friday night plans include dinner at Noodles & Co….. love their salads, and penne rosa! I’m stoked!

Reply

I need to buy one of those pazookie pans; I love pazookies! Thanks for the heads up about the cookie sheet underneath. The same thing would have happened to me. :)

Reply

Ok…you have made up my mind…I am making one of those cookies with icecream tonight! Safe travels to Arizona

Reply

Hahaa…I am afraid I will catch the hotel on fire as I attempt to make dinner in the hotel kitchenette tonight.

Reply

I’ve been to Arizona! It was the only time I have been out west. It was so different from the East coast. The colors, the height of the mountains (much bigger than the Blue Ridge)–it was incredible. I have one sister in Utah (she went to BYU, too!) and one in California, so I will hopefully be going West again soon.

Reply

Friday night plans, watching Grey’s Anatomy and getting to bed early. I have a half marathon tomorrow and need to leave by 6 am.
If I could have any dessert it is always a cannoli from Mike’s Pastry in Boston.

Reply

Watching Catching Fire because my husband is on a scout camp out.
Might have to make some cookies.
I’m not sure I would have thought of taking a picture of the fire. Great shot!

Reply

I love that there was a literal fire in your oven and your first reach was for the camera :)

Lemon bars, which is fortunate because I brought some to the office today. Yesterday was a tough anniversary for us, so my little brother and I baked a whole bunch of things. Unfortunately, they’re all I can focus on all day at work…..and your blog, naturally!

Reply

I have that same point & shoot, except it’s not quite as new as yours (obviously). It’s a great camera. I’m sure you’ll love it!

Friday night plans: nada! Just laying low and enjoying my mom while she’s here visiting us. Maybe some ice cream or fro-yo is in order.

I’m a native Arizonian. Does that count? :) Have fun!

Reply

I’ll be travelling tonight for my husband’s triathlon in the morning. It’s only about 1.5 hours away so not too far, but we’ll be eating at my favorite restaurant!! I have a Nikon Coolpix, can’t remember the numbers, but tend to use my phone for most of my pictures. Have fun in Arizona!

Reply

Dessert right now is always always a chocolate chip cookie. Preferably warm. So amazing!
Isn’t a baby (or toddler) laying on you the best thing ever? My 21 month old still loves to be cuddled in the morning and I love it. Could do it all day!

Reply

Point and shoot cameras are definitely the best for travel. Whenever I bring my big Nikon on trips not many pictures get taken because it can be a hassle to carry around.

My entire Friday is being spent in airports and on planes to fly home for an interview! (But I do have an amazing running buddy that woke up at 4:30 AM to run with me before my first flight! <– highlight of my day)

Reply

Yummm now I want a cazookie. Also no joke I have had chicken/ broccoli/ sweet potato for dinner the last two nights in a row.

Reply

We bake our cookie dough for cazookie’s in a muffin pan, it works perfectly! And then you get to eat more since it’s so small :)

Reply

Ummm. . . small kitchen fire is TOTALLY worth those if you ask me. YUM! Must get small cast iron skillets NOW!

Reply

When are you going to Thailand?? for what?!?! I cant wait to read those posts. Ive always wanted to go.

Reply

OMG- I NEED those pazookie pans!!

I’m in AZ!! Are you doing a meet up while you’re here?!

Reply

Those cookies look so good! I am drooling! Tonight my hubby is going to be studying for a big test that he has to take Saturday morning, and I am going to be watching Parenthood with my baby girl. I started watching this after you recommended it, and I LOVE it! Thank you!!!

Reply

I need to get one of those pans! Those cookies look amazing!

hahaha I was not expecting an ACTUAL fire to be part of this post! at least it was caused by something delicious :)

Reply

There is a Brooks sale on Zulilly today… pureflows for $49… Seriously! If you need a size 9, I am sorry, I bought them all.
Tonight, a quick run and then walking with a friend and our kids in the high school. Wisconsin weather isn’t cooperating with outside activities at them moment.
We got a Nikon D5200 around Christmas that I am slowly figuring out.
I would love to eat an entire pan of Ghir triple chocolate brownies. The entire pan with a side of peanut butter panic ice cream. My husband said we are not allowed to buy those pans. LAME!
Have a great trip :)

Reply

Friday night plans: My bff’s bday dinner is tonight, I can’t wait for delicious food and good friends:)
Giant cookie topped with ice cream + Sherlock = the perfect night! My bff and I did this exact thing a few weeks ago and it was awesome. Except I forgot to add baking soda and salt, so it had a weird texture. It was nothing multiple scoops of ice cream couldn’t fix.

Reply

We’re having our usual Friday night date — we go out for dinner to our neighborhood pub, and then watch a movie at home. This week it’s “Catching Fire” since it just came out on dvd!

Happy Friday! :)

Reply

I have that camera and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Reply

Agreeing with a previous commenter…you can totally wear the kids’ shorts. If I can fit ’em, you for SURE can!

Reply

I love my Canon Power Shot! I am on my third one now (I buy the new and improved one every 2-3 years), and I need to replace it soon because I cracked the screen last summer on a run. They just keep getting smaller and smaller! I love (and want) the WiFi transfer capability. I just got the iPhone 5S and I take most of my pictures with it now. It really does take great pictures.

I gave up desserts for Lent, so I don’t want to think about them! :-)

Reply

Can you tell the awful banana story? I must have missed it!

Reply

My Friday night consists of calling my grandma (it’s her birthday!) and otherwise lounging/stretching/foam rolling. And probably some food network.

I mostly use my camera on my phone because it takes better pictures than my little point and shoot, which I think is a Canon.

Any dessert? Grandma’s apple pie with ice cream. At least I have ice cream in the freezer!

Reply

I would have my mom’s grasshopper pie. It would make me incredibly sick, but the combination of cookies, hot fudge and mint chocolate chip ice cream is the best combination in the history of the world.

In reality I had a tablespoon of dark chocolate chips. They were delicious.

What is the difference between a cazookie and a pizookie in Arizona? =)
