Brooke and I are officially moving here.

I lucked out.  Even though I slept around 9 hours on the flights here when I got back to my friend’s house last night at midnight I fell right asleep until 6 a.m. without a problem.  I am telling myself that I have skipped out on the whole jet lag thing because somehow I feel great.

I really tried hard to run outside but the humidity and heat almost killed me off.  I made it 3 miles this morning at about a 9 min/mile pace and then decided that the treadmill is going to be the best option for me while I am here.

3 miles outside and 7k on the treadmill… so a little more than 7 miles?!

Just my breakfast alone made me decide that Brooke and I are coming back to Thailand for an extended time (or maybe we should just move here;) to stay with my friends in a few months.

Croissant + chocolate in the middle + candied almonds.  It was also straight out of the oven.  Just FYI… one of my favorite parts about traveling is the food.  Each post will probably contain 300 pictures of food.

After bfast we went to the Chatuchak outdoor market…  Oh ya know—>  just the world’s largest weekend market!  It was insane.  I could have spent 15 hours walking around and I still wouldn’t have seen everything (maybe an exaggeration but still).  Over 35 acres, 15,000 stalls and around 200,000 visitors each day.

We had mango and watermelon smoothies (straight from heaven, I swear) while we walked around.

And pineapple that tasted like candy.

And Brooke is going to look so cute in these finds:

The real deal Thai food.

And the most amazing coconut soup I have ever had.

PS Don’t worry, I am still able to get my diet coke fix here.  What a relief, I know you were all concerned.

Have a great ‘whatever day it is for you because this time change has me really confused’ day!

Respect that you manage to share your Thai adventures just-in-time. I really lack on that department and usually it takes me up to two weeks to get through the bunch of pictures I’ve taken while travelling. Thailand is definitely one of the places I would love to visit in the nearer future – look at all the delicious food!

My brother just moved to Cambodia, and he says his running days are over cause the heat and humidity is just too intense. And he isn’t motivated to go the gym because he sweats so much just going about his normal day that he can’t bear the thought of working out and intentionally sweating some more. :)

Love hearing about all your adventures!!! It’s like a vicarious vacation! :)

So fun! I am super jealous! It’s nice that you have your own personal tour guide too. Is this the first time you’ve travelled out of the country? Enjoy every moment and post a ton so we can live vicariously through you!

It looks like you’re having a blast; traveling is one of my favorite things! :D
Also…I really encourage you to bear the weather outside. When I was training in college, I went on a mission trip to Nepal and spent 6 weeks there. It’s crowded like India and the smells of food, garbage, etc in the air really bothered me at first. But, instead of thinking about pace or how far, just run for time. Turn off your Garmin :) I promise you. You can run anywhere, and it’s a beautiful thing to learn how and challenge yourself :)

Have you noticed that Diet Coke tastes different internationally? When we moved to Abu Dhabi, I switched to Diet Pepsi, because the Diet Coke tasted off and I couldn’t get over it. And here, in England, I’ve noticed that most places serve Diet Pepsi over Diet Coke, so I have to go to the Base to get my fix. Glad to see you are enjoying your time there. We went to Costa Rica in the middle of the summer from Utah and I died in the humidity running too. Have fun!

What an awesome place! And keep the food pictures coming!

Wow! That looks like so much fun!! I got hit with the travel bug this year… nothing big like out of the country but I want to see things here in the US! Like Cali this summer for the blogfest! (Trying to raise money to make that one come true!)

LOVE your finds for Brooke! She’ll definitely look so cute in those!! :) Hope you have a safe trip and have as much fun as possible!! *hugs!*

A friend of mine just returned from teaching in Thailand for a year and a half and his stories almost have me convinced to go and teach for a year. What really convinced me is how cheap it is to travel around to other countries. Now that I am reading all about your trip to Thailand, I think it’s a sign.

Have so much fun!
