This post was supposed to go up a few hours ago but it didn’t.  Silly internet.

In just a little bit I will be cuddling this girl and I couldn’t be happier about it.  Also, apparently she wants a fish now.

I think she is pretty happy at my sister’s house but I know deep down she has been missing me like crazy;)

Just a few more pics from Saturday.  We had dinner last night at 4:30 pm.  Now that I am living with my parents I am quite used to the early dinner thing so this worked out perfectly for me.

Layer one- bow tie pasta.  Layer two: steamed veggies.  Layer three:  turkey and beef meatballs.  Layer 4:  pesto, marinara and alfredo sauce. Layer 5: parmesan cheese.

Now I just need to replicate those layers for all of my ‘night before a race or long run’ meals.

Three desserts to choose from.  I loved the mousse cups but the cupcake wasn’t my favorite (it was healthified and I quickly picked up on that.  I like my desserts to be full sugar/full fat:)

Now wouldn’t this be cool if it was true:)  Ericka!

Some late night eating tuna out of a can occurred in the hotel room (and made the room stink really bad.  Tuna tastes great but it sure does smell awful).

And some friends picked us up for the necessary blogger/runner/girl fuel.

I hope you had a great weekend and I will see you in a few short hours.

Great job on your long run and eat some cake for me:)

What a fun weekend you had! The highlight of my weekend was actually volunteering at a race last night. I volunteered at packet pickup (which was indoors thankfully) It was great seeing all the runners in their crazy Halloween costumes and chatting away with the other runner volunteers. Whats better than chatting for hours with other runners?

Reply

That is so great that you volunteered at a race. Way to go girl. Nothing is better than chatting with runners. Have a great week!

mine is that the soccer coach told V he was the most improved as he got his medal. I love that he worked hard

That is seriously awesome. Tell him congrats. Hard work pays off!

thank you, I agree!

That looks like an amazing layered dinner. Totally agree that desserts should not be healthified! The highlight of our weekend was my best friends wedding and then driving to the mountains in North Carolina for a weekend with no babies :-) I am definitely ready to see him tomorrow though!!!

Reply

Ah what a lovely weekend! I love seeing my favorite bloggers hanging out! And the healthified desserts that taste healthy are the worst! Either make them delicious or don’t cut out the butter!

Reply

HAHAHA I agree!!! I am glad you have a strong opinion about this matter too!

Sounds like such a great weekend at the RW Festival. The highlight of my weekend was celebrating with all the first time marathoners at the Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco.

Reply

Oh that is so awesome! I did that race last year and loved every second. I am so glad you had such a great time Kristin and I hope the weather was great:)

The Red Sox game. And 2 great meals out. One was for thai food and the other was some of the best mac & cheese I have had ever.

Looks like fun! The mornings here are finally cool so my weekend highlight was walking around at the zoo with my daughter! :)

Reply

I ran my first trail race today, which was also my first 15k and my personal distance record! It was crazy hard with mile long hills that seemed to go straight up!

Reply

Seeing all my cousins at a family reunion took me back in time 20 years. That felt like the simple life! Doesn’t it feel good to escape to that from time to time?

Reply

That sounds like a blast. I am glad you got that time with them! Have a great week at school Erica:)

My highlight was celebrating my birthday with a chocolate cheesecake. So yummy I may have to have another piece before bed!…

My highlight of the weekend was the Nike Women’s Half today! Survived my first pregnant race and had a blast! Now I am enjoying some high quality sweatpants time with a side of room service in my hotel room. :) Miss you!

Seriously, I am obsessed with Brooke’s top knot. She is adorable. Glad you had a fun weekend :) I have been stalking everyone via instagram and getting completely jealous!

What a fun weekend. I mean running 3 races, friends, food, and fro yo. Ya. I could do that every weekend;) Glad you had a good time.

My little family went up to Downata Idaho with ross’ family. We went swimming in the hot springs, played games, ate all my caramel apples (sweater weather is a good thing) and then anna had her first solo singing performance. It was entertaining to say the least. I rather like miss anna. Never a dull moment with her.
I hope you are back home safe and sound with your bestie now. I am sure she has missed you.

Highlight of my weekend was some awesome cross training workouts and spending time with the husband. We are traveling so much this month that staying home was so nice this weekend!

Though I have to say I would have LOVED to be where you were!

Reply

The highlight of my weekend was getting to run in cooler temps. It’s a tapering weekend with my half marathon next weekend. Loved all of your pics from your weekend!

Reply

I am totally craving some pasta and frozen yoghurt now :)

Highlight of the weekend was visiting kates berry farm. Delicious to the max!

Reply

Ran 7.5 miles today just for the heck of it :) If I saw your face on a magazine I’d buy it in a heartbeat. <– that sounds like a creepy pickup line….

Reply

I seriously don’t understand “healthifying” dessert. Totally bogus. Even in my ridiculous food-intolerant state in which some things can’t be used, desserts maintain fat and sugar IN ABUNDANCE.

Reply

Aw, it looks like you gals are having a blast! I’m happy that you’re having fun and I bet you are over-the-moon excited to see Brooke! She may be having fun at your sister’s, but no one compares to mama! ;-)

Reply

The highlight of my weekend….hmmm…oh I actually stretched after my run!! I remember coming back from 20+ mile runs and plopping on the couch and taking a nap :)

Those days are gone :( I’m getting oldddd. Ok so I’m only 21—but STILL– now I have injuries :((( I guess from now on, I will have to stretch after every single run–life is hard.

Reply

Realizing I ran 51 miles the last 7 days! The most miles in 1 week since who knows when??

Looks like you had a super weekend..

Reply

Way to go girl! That is awesome!

Reply

highlight of my weekend was a great 10 miler after a couple really tough weeks of being sick and injured :)

Reply

Awww, I bet you can’t wait to see Brooke! Looks like you had a great time in PA, can’t wait to read more.

I’d been in a bit of a running funk lately but today I went out for my normal 7 mile Sunday run, and actually felt great and ran it almost at my 10k pace with negative splits! I felt so great after! And this is after running 10+ yesterday, so I was pretty stoked. Funny how the little things can really lift your mood.

Reply

Looks like you’re having a blast!!

I ran my first half this weekend! It was a great experience and I beat my goal time :) now all I can think about is beating that time/finding more halfs to do!

Have a great week!

Reply

I ran my first marathon today. I have been battling an IT band injury and ended up with a 4:12:12! Yahoo!!

Reply

Ahhhhhhh huge congrats! That is an incredible time and get that it band better ASAP!

Reply

Your weekend looked like fun.

P.S. You could totally be on the cover of Runner’s World!

Reply

Looks like your weekend has been unforgettable! The highlight of my weekend was earning a new official PR at my half marathon yesterday! The weather was not ideal…cold and rainy, but my sister and I survived. The best part was that mile 13 was our fastest mile at 8:25!!!! I guess all those tempo runs and speed work sessions have paid off! :) Enjoy your time with Brooke tonight!

Reply

Dinner at 4:30 actually sounds perfect to me — but I guess that’s what happens when you wake up at 5 in the morning ;) And the smell of tuna (and fish in general) is one of the reasons why I will never touch it. Desserts, on the other hand… please and thank you :D

Reply

I had dinner with from friends from out of town. It was great to be able to catch up.

Reply

Yay Brooke! I have missed her on here the last few days.
I want that pasta dish u ate!
Highlight of my weekend besides being with my family? That would be eating cookies, the oreo cheesecake from cheesecake factory (have u had it? Pretty amazing) and finally getting an awesome italian sub ive been craving for weeks. (Can u tell I have all my junk food on the weekends mostly?) Oh! and running 8 miles in 65:53 yesterday. A pr for me.
Glad u made it home safely. Oh and u WILL be on the cover of runners world for real someday soon!

Reply

Why is it that sauces always taste better when they are all mixed together? I usually take tuna for lunch at work, it’s hard to try and hide the smell opening the tin. Brook is way too cute!

Reply

YUM! That looks like the perfect pre-race fuel!

Reply

I ran my first double digit run since March and I didn’t die!

Reply

First of all, Brooke is so adorable! I just love her eyes. They are beautiful. The highlight of my weekend was a 12 mile training run for my 4th marathon next month.

Reply

Since I started the midnight shift at work this weekend, the highlight of my weekend was finishing week 1 of the Hal Higdon half marathon training and having two pieces of ice cream cake for my mom’s birthday.

I had a PR on the Army 10 Miler today. I cannot edit for the Marine Corp Marathon next weekend!!!!

Reply

It looks like you girls had such a great running weekend! I would pick up on the healthified desserts too – as much as I love a less guilty dessert at times, nothing beats a real and truly decadent dessert.

Reply

You hang out with some amazing people!!! Super glad your back with your baby!!! Congrats on your speedy accomplishments this weekend.

Reply

Finishing the Runner’s World hat trick, and doing better than I thought I would! Oh, and meeting you and Kristin, of course!!! :)

Reply

I fully expect to one day get my Runner’s World out of the mailbox and see you on the cover!!!

Reply

Mer…I COMPLETELY agree! she is too cool not to be on it someday!

Reply

Healthified desserts are never as good as normal desserts.

The best part of my weekend was getting to see Wicked on Broadway for the first time. AMAZING.

Reply

That meal looks awesome… I like the different layers of stuff- I must try that next weekend for my next race!!! :)
HIghlight of my weekend?? Post marathon lunch and beer with my SIL/BIL and adorable niece and nephew! I am one lucky auntie, let me tell ya!

Reply

Highlight of my weekend was running with 30,000+ women at the Nike Women’s 1/2 in San Fran. It was so freaking cool and will definitely be on the agenda for next year.

Reply

P.S. I also PR’d by about a minute, which is crazy considering those hills. Now I really want to run a fast course to see what I can do with my time. I literally teared up crossing the finish, because PR’ing this race wasn’t even something I had considered.

Reply

The best part of my weekend was taking first place in my age group at a 5k race! It was a first for me. And I got a new pair of running shoes (!); I’ve been reading all about the new Newton Energy so decided to make the switch and see how they feel.

Reply

I had a nice visit with my family this weekend and also went to visit an old friend of mine. That was a pretty awesome treat.

Looks like you had such an awesome time! And Brooke is the cutest baby ever. Giving me some serious baby fever :)

I’m so jealous that all my fave bloggers are in one place too getting to hang out! Hope you had a safe trip back!

That magazine cover is amazing!!! Highlight of my weekend was going to my first Houston Dynamo game! Who knew soccer was so fun to watch!!

Reply

Awesome weekend!! I love your boots btw!~

Love the mag cover!

I worked all weekend, so the highlight was getting off at 7pm on Sunday night knowing that I am off for a couple of days.

Reply

I finally got to run again on Saturday and it turned into a full 13 miles which I was very happy about.

It was wedding weekend for my girlfriend so it was bachlorette party, rehearsal dinner and then the beautiful wedding. all those made for a busy, but fun weekend with lovely highlights.

Reply

Tuna is stinky…but a great protein! Especially the night before a run.

You should get Brooke a puppy and a fish!!

Looks like a fun weekend!
