Brooke’s Swagger and Throw Back Wednesday.

Winter in the mountains and fall in the valley.  I think I would love living almost anywhere but I especially love Utah (remind me that I said this when it is 2 degrees in January).

IMG 3032

My body is still incredibly sore (because I was brilliant and went to a pump class for the first time in months on Monday) so keeping an 8:30 pace for 7 miles was hard for these legs of mine.   Maybe tomorrow I won’t have to take 5 minutes to try to stand up or sit down anymore?!

Came home and did some sit-ups with my dad…. when you do sit-ups do you put your hands behind your head or crossing your chest?

IMG 3042

Pretty excited about my new ginormous headband that actually keeps every hair back and out of my face when I run.  This will keep me from being annoyed for half of my run trying to get hair out of my face.  Such a hard life.

IMG 3033

We had somewhat of a family reunion today at Great Harvest for lunch…. Mer, my mom, my sis, my BIL, my niece and Brookers.

All of the best ingredients on top of lettuce.

Why doesn’t every slice of bread come 3 inches thick?

DSC 7337

Brooke’s swagger.  Too cool for school.

DSC 7339

In honor of Halloween being tomorrow I thought we would do a Throw Back Wednesday picture with Brooke’s first Halloween costume.  As you can tell she absolutely loved being a lobster.  Okay, she only lasted a few minutes in the suit but it was the cutest thing ever.

I have to do hands behind my head sit-ups because my head is too freakin big for my neck.
I have only lived in Iowa.
My hair is too short to need anything
my run was a 7. I did 10 miles but my legs were tired from doing 11 yesterday.

Reply

10 after 11 are you nuts?!?! I am still recovering from my longest run of 11 miles on Saturday and its Wednesday.

I still don’t have costumes for my kids! Worst mom ever!

My run today wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t as easy as it should have been!

Reply

Hardly the worst mom ever. Mine didn’t have them either until about 6:30 ET. Crisis averted!! Hope the same for you.

Aww what a cute little lobster!!

I always wear a headband when I run because I hate having hair in my face. I usually just do a ponytail, but sometimes I braid it. It seems like no matter what I do, my hair always ends up a snarly mess by the end of my run.

Reply

I love New York. I miss it every day. I grew up in Princeton, though, and that’s a beautiful town. My run was very hard today because I didn’t do it–my new rule of thumb: when I walk down the stairs like a normal human being post marathon, it’s time to start running again.

Reply

What I want to be when I grow up: as cool as Brooke.

Reply

Love this. I was just wondering if I could find an outfit as cute as hers for adults :)

Reply

I CANNOT run without a headband. Sometimes I think I will be fine and go without one, but then I regret it within 5 minutes…stupid fly-aways.

Haven’t done my run yet today…about another hour left at work (I’m obviously being so productive). But it should be just a pretty easy 5-6 miles. I also did weights yesterday for the first time in months! Gotta step up my game to get that PR though!

Reply

Awww, I love lobster Brooke! So cute!

I’d have to say my favorite place I’ve ever “lived” was a vacation house we rented for a week in Bald Head Island. It’s a small island with no cars (you drive around in golf carts and on bikes). I love that you can get everything you need without having to get in the car – lots of biking and running and walking! Plus you can’t beat the beach and sunsets on the ocean:)

I usually use a headband when I run, but I have to get a bigger one like yours. The one I have does a great job of holding back my bangs but then they always stick up in the back making me look like a goober. I’m on the hunt for a wider headband that holds them back completely.

Reply

I want your headband! I like thicker headbands and now that it’s getting cold I like them more then hats. Since I moved a few weeks ago, I can’t find my fleece headbands.

Reply

I’m a pony tail type of girl…I have some headbands from Athleta that I love, they stay in place and keep my hair and sweat out of my face. Also, I love running in my HeadSweats supervisors on hot sweaty days.

Reply

Brooke is too cute with that swagger :-) I’ve never lived anywhere really cool, but joe and I definitely plan on it at some point in our lifetime! Where did u get that headband? I currently don’t wear anything and it’s super annoying when it’s windy out!

Reply

holy cow that costume is just too dang cute!!!!

Reply

I am definitely a headband girl when I run but I can’t do the thick ones. They look funny on me. Brooke looks too cute in that costume! I am looking fwd to running in costume tomorrow – going to a social run/after party tom nite so should be fun. Have a good nite :-)

Reply

I put my hands behind my head because my neck hurts otherwise.
Your dad looks so thin! Congrats, I remember he was on a diet.
Brooke is the sweetest lobster ever :)

Reply

I usually wear my hair in adult pigtails while running and 2 scrawny braids for racing luck. Today’s run was about 4, not too hard but I could tell I did a tiny bit of speedwork yesterday.

Reply

Brooke is precious!

Reply

St. Charles County- basically anywhere within those boundaries. The riverfront? Ugh, love it! When I run, my hair goes into a high messy bun or ponytail, because I can’t stand having my hair bounce on my neck when I’m working out! My bangs and everything else are held into place with a million bobby pins, which can be super annoying. I need to get a headband, I just haven’t found one I like (aka, that I look good in) or that stays put! What kind is yours, and where did you get it?

No run for me today, but I did a super-hard workout at Crossfit this morning. Physically and mentally tough!

Also, I thought you might get a giggle out of this- I’m running my first half-marathon on Sunday, and will be doing it with leftover recital hair (think prom/wedding hair) from the night before. Oh man.

Reply

Headbands are a MUST when working out, and the thicker the better. I have bangs, so keeping them out of my eyes is a nightmare if I don’t have a headband. I thought bobby pins would work, but a few stray hairs always manage to find their way out and annoy me. Buggers.

And I’m honestly having a hard time believing it’s Halloween tomorrow… SO doesn’t feel like it this year.

Reply

Oh! oh!! I ran today so U can answer a running question for the first time in FOREVER! It was a 6. I didn’t keep it super easy/comfortable, but didn’t push it because I am trying to be smart for once!

I really loved living in St George and I miss the red rocks…well, I miss it from September to May. Then I miss living in Logan from May to November ;)

Brooke is such a fashionista. I want all her clothes in my size! Can’t wait to see her in her costume tomorrow! Hope you are having a great day!

Reply

My run today didn’t feel so bad but my splits looked as though I was suffering. My pace has been a bit off a while now and it is so annoying! Lol….I wear a headband in the summer and just a plain ponytail when it cools down.

Reply

I remember that little lobster! She’s grown SO much!

I’ve only lived in California until this year. Living in Hawaii is pretty awesome, but I’ll always be a California girl at heart.

Headband and ponytail. I cannot stand my hair in my face when I run.

On a scale from 1-10, my run today was 0. It was a rest day!

Reply

huh. I do situps with hands on the chest. took me a minute to think about it. I think I’m a Cali girl forever. I love the northwest Eureka area and I LOVE San Diego area. So anywhere in CA will be home for me. except Redding or the Central Valley. I would not be able to stand the heat.

I’ve got an 8 mile speed workout on tap for today and honestly, not looking forward to it. I just want to finish putting up Halloween decorations. lol.

where did you get the headband from?

Reply

I have short hair, so it’s pretty easy for me. I use a headband when I’m on the treadmill and a running hat when I’m outside (for rain or sun!).

I’d say my run today was a 7.5—ran a local trail pushing the bob stroller. It’s a little hilly so with pushing that thing uphill it can be challenging! But I always feel great when I’m done.

Love the little lobster!

Reply

I can’t wait to see what Brooke is this year! My run was also a 0 ;) No run today because of Taper week :) :) I use a headband and typically bobby pins, too. my bangs are just long enough to stick out behind the headband. :(

Reply

I live in my favorite place San Diego :).

My run was a 45 min tempo run. It was tough but I would say a 7. I did a little over 5 miles but I did this on the treadmill. Still figuring out this running thing (only been running since May ’13) and doing speed work on Wednesdays is tough. My 1st half is in 18 days! I am just a little excited to tackle it.

Where is big headband from I have a hard time keeping any headbands on unless I do a low ponytail and keep it from sliding up the back of my head. Does this mean my head is shaped weird. I love girls in headbands its so cute and my head just won’t accept them.

Ugh…

Reply

My favorite place to live was NC – hopefully when we move next year we will get back down there!

Lobster Brooke is so adorable! I can’t wait to see what she looks like this year in her costume!

Reply

I have only lived in 2 places Boston and Seattle. Boston hands down. It is home and my family is there. I’m learning to like Seattle we have been here 14 months.
I wear a headband mostly for sweat.
My run today was a 2. A four mile easy run. Only 4 days until NYCM!

Reply

uugh tell me about it…I have now been to BodyPump twice this week…and I hold it when I have to go to the bathroom ’cause it’s so painful to sit down to go…hehehe…true story

Reply

Ohmigoodness I need that ginormous headband…where is it from?

Reply

I second that! DO tell where can this glorious head band be found ??:)

Reply

Love the lobster costume!!
I wear my hair with two ties so it doesn’t come loose and clips for my bangs- nothing exciting at all…
I went to spin today instead of running- gearing up for my first half marathon on Sunday!

Reply

My hair drives me NUTS on runs. I swear by BIC bands, but I have been seeing a lot more of these really think head bands, which I am curious about. My primary concern is my huge noggin looking that much bigger with one on!

Reply

Favorite place to live is Nelson New Zealand, but I can be happy living mostly anywhere. I wear bobbys & a headband but that big headband of yours is perfect. No running ATM, my hamstrings healing. Gorgeous Brooke in her lobster costume, loved it. Have an amazing day Janae.

Reply

My favorite place I have lived is New Mexico, I love the mountains :)
my run today was a 7, I ran 7 miles today with my running coach and it was 11 minutes faster than the last time I did 7 miles two months ago. I am so thrilled, still grinning :D

Reply

I just bought a huge black headband like that too! It was perfect for my rainy 10K last Saturday!

Reply

Favorite place to live is NYC, where I live now! I never want to leave :)

Reply

I like where I am now, but I’d sure LOVE to be some place warmer. We already have snow. Ew!

I LOVE the lululemon bang buster headband (I think that’s what you’re wearing?).

No run today. Made it 3km yesterday but after doing a bazillion squats on Monday my legs were NOT happy, so today will be a rest day :)

Reply

I LOVE living in Bozeman, Montana. I’ve lived here for two years and can’t imagine living anywhere else. It’s such a wonderful community – very active and outdoorsy.

Reply

I live near the mountains, but that also means we get a lot of snow every winter, so I can relate about you living in Utah.

Reply

My favorite place I have lived is Southern Oregon. I will live there again someday!

I wear a BIC Bands when I run. I have to or the little curly fly-aways drive me nuts. I can’t stand my hair touching my face, especially when I’m hot &/or sweaty.

Reply

Brooke is such a cutie! My favorite place to live was with my family growing up :)

Reply

Favorite place I’ve lived: CA!!!

I love my Bondi bands. They keeps hair out and ears warm! “Shut up and run!” Is my favorite one :)

No run today…nursing ITBS badly. NWM1/2 did me in (ahhh the downhill).Anyone running Wine & Dine next weekend at Disney World?!? Let me know!!

Reply

That headband seriously looks like the greatest thing ever. And I (creepily?) remember when you posted the original picture of Brooke wearing that lobster costume. What a cutie. :-)

Reply

HAHAHA I remember a shocking number of things that Janae referenced on this blog, like the lobster costume, and I question whether or not I’m creepy all the time. I’d like to think I’m just a really good cyber friend!

Reply

I LOVE Brooke’s little swagger and my goodness those little pigtails. *swoon*

I’ve lived all over the world (we were blessed the military paid for it) and also Montana and Colorado. Tough call…Colorado has my heart though. Those Rocky Mountains.

Reply

Oh my gosh, Brooke is so cute as a lobster!!! Such a good throwback!

I typically always wear those thinner BIC headbands when I run. Usually, they work pretty well but every now and then they slide down a little. I HATE when that happens!

Reply

I love living in the south but it would be so fun to live in Colorado or Oregon. Just change it up!

I can’t stand my hair in my face when I’m running!! If I’m running outside I will put my hair in a ponytail and wear a hat. If I’m exercising inside I wear Sweaty Bands(with a pony tail). They are super cute and really don’t move out of place.

No run today. It was an elliptical day. I’m hoping to get in a video and a run tomorrow before the rain and trick or treating!

Reply

I put my hands behind my head! I like to help my core out by giving my neck some support ;) Haha!

Reply

The area I live in currently..which is also where I grew up – the SF Bay Area. I spent many young adult years on the East Coast and liked it fine :) but this area is my favorite. Loving that lobster! Reminds me of the Sebastian the Crab costume my son wore in kindergarten.

Reply

Omg that salad looks delish!! I need to clearly hit up Great Harvest ASAP! When I run, I bobby pin my bangs back into a poof!

Reply

Love that lobster costume! Too cute :)

Reply

I lived in Hawaii for two years and it was amazing!

Reply

My run today was a 7. I ran on the snow-covered trails in Park City and it was SLOW and hard. Ugh. I’d have to say that Utah is my favorite place I’ve lived. I love it here!

Reply

Ok I want a headband like that! Where did you get it?
I love Utah so much. Cache Valley was beautiful but I like being closer to the city now.
Brooke’s swagger is too cute and I can’t wait to see what you’re dressing her up as tomorrow! :)

Last picture is so cute

My run was easy today in comparison of what I just signed up today to do in February. MY FIRST 100 MILE RACE!! Wanna join me pretty please? It’s in Vegas and the temps should be absolutely perfect!! Oh yeah! I think I just got my running mojo back.

Reply

The best place I’ve lived by a MILE (running pun intended) is Boulder, CO. I went to college there and I miss it like crazy. I can’t wait to move back out west some day!!

My run today was a 6. It was a track workout that should have been a 10 if I really oushed it. My quad is really sore for some reason so I didn’t go all out, but it still hurt! Oyyyy veyyyyy I hate sore muscles.

Reply

I have never lived anywhere besides the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and it is my favorite place ever. It is a world hidden secret! I HAVE to wear a headband when I run or else it is a big mess! I didn’t run today, cross trained.. weights kicked my butt!

Reply

I need that headband!!! What brand is it?

My run was about a 7-speedwork on the treadmill because it was already dark out:(

Reply

Love the swag and the lobster :)

Reply

My favorite place to live was WA right in between Tacoma and Olympia. My husband was military at the move so it was inevitable that we would move. But In June my hubby took a job (he is out of the army) in Portland OR, and we still love it up here.

I use bobbi pins to pin my bangs back. when my hair was longer i would pull it up but recently I chopped all my hair off.

Today was a rest day, but I am back at it tomorrow!

Reply

I wanted to get that lobster costume so badly for my son’s first Halloween, but he was already too mobile by October to tolerate it!

My favorite place I have (kinda sorta) lived has been San Diego… I lived there during the summers when I was a kid, and I always wanted to stay forever. I really liked the SF East Bay Area too. However, I’m pretty happy about living where I do now because I’m close to family and I love my family. Plus it’s not too bad on the eyes ;) The scenery today made my run about a 3 on the scale.

Reply

My run was probably a 4 today… maybe a 5. Just 4 miles of intervals but I did some hard sprints. I hate that it doesn’t get light early enough to do much milage before work.

I use a headband or a hat or bobby pins… depends on my mood.

I hope you carried Brooke in a pot as a lobster :)

Reply

It drives me NUTS to have any hair in my face, so I use bobby pins + pony tail + headband on every run. My head is oddly shaped, though, so I have trouble finding headbands that fit properly

Reply

Favorite place I’ve ever lived – Allen, Texas. It’s pretty ugly and it is crazy hot for 2 months of summer but the people are amazing and you can’t beat the cost of living.
Easy 3 miles – it’s recovery week :)
Always wear my hair in a ponytail – sans headband so I spend half my run pushing my bangs out of my eyes.

Reply

Ahhh..Brooke is so cute, love the swagger!

My favorite place I’ve ever lived in Boston, it’s a magical city. I always wear my Junk Brand headband, best headband ever!! I’d rate my run at a 7-8…it was hill repeats, one of my favorite kinds of runs.

Reply

The Optimum Capris!! They look like the perfect length. But, that jacket you’re wearing is a close second! I’m a sucker for thumb holes, too…….. and I have no idea why. haha

Reply

Since I have only lived in Texas, Texas will always hold a place in my heart. :) My run today was a speed workout so it was pretty hard, but not the hardest run ever. I would give it a 7. I need some better headbands to keep my hair out of my face when I work out. I really want to try BIC bands!

Reply

I have short hair so usually a bobby pin or 2, 2 hair ties, and a bic band do the trick! I ran 5 miles this morning and I don’t ever really run hard so ill rate it a 4/10 ;)

Reply

We actually loved living in Orlando, but Savannah was nice too. Now we are closer to family and back “home” but Orlando was seriously great.

Reply

I’m originally from a Chicago suburb, but I lived in Chicago for three years and it will always be my favorite. I just loved the energy of the city!

Reply

My favorite place is Orlando… which I am moving back to in December!!!

I am still in search of a headband that will stay put my whole workout/run. I finally found awesome hairbands that don’t budge or fall out of my ponytail: Scunci Evolution no slip hair ties!

Reply

I love that headband-if it’s the lulu one, I’ve got it!

Ahhhhh cutest lobster ever!

Reply

Ahhh I can’t handle the cuteness that is Brooke as a lobster!!! Love it. I alwayyyys wear my hair pulled back out of my face and in a ponytail when I run. Can’t stand if it isn’t!

xo

Reply

I give my run today a 7. Post-Body Pump running is always soooo hard. I went Monday and today was definitely the worst day of being sore.

Reply

just throwing it out there, brooke is consistently dressed more fashionably than me. is it weird that I’m jealous of her outfits and I’m 22?

Reply

I must say that salad looks AAAhhh-mazing!!! I was always taught to do sit-ups with hands across my chest in school.
I lived in Helena, Montana and would give anything to go back! MN is where I’m stuck for awhile.
My hair…I always use Punkeelove headbands…similar to Sweaty Bands but adjustable. They do not slip off the back of my head like every other headband I’ve tried!
Today was a rest day :)

Reply

My son was a lobster for his first Halloween, too! He also lasted a few minutes in it.

I run with my hair in a pony tail, and I use a thin headband and bobbi pins to hold back the bangs. I took today off of running- my knees are killing me from yesterday’s run! I did a barre workout instead.

Reply

I LOVE Barre workouts. I’m giving away a Barre3 DVD on my blog. You should come check it out. (Sorry, Janae. Didn’t mean to blogjack you.)

Reply

My favorite place is Florida and that’s why I live here. I wear a hair tie and put my hair in a ponytail, (I know, it’s bad) and I keep the stray hairs away from my face with a visor, I ALWAYS wear a visor. My run today was hard but not super hard, probably an 8 but I didn’t mind because my soreness was from a pretty sweet pr in my half marathon last sunday.

Reply

I have a whole bunch of short hairs that stick up… so I might have to look into this giant headband business. Sounds perfect for my hairdo (tied up high, couple of bobby-pins if needed).

Reply

I can’t pick a favorite place to live.
Today I used a headband to hold back my hair, but it’s usually bobby pins.
Today’s run was just lucky to get done. I need new shows, like, yesterday!

Reply

I just put my hair in a ponytail when I run….most headbands give me headaches! My run was a 1…..getting ready to run my 2nd marathon in 2 weeks so taking it pretty easy!

Reply

Brooke’s swagger is so cute!
I love your headband. I want one.

Reply

Hair- always back in a pony tail. I have never been able to do my hair in any sort of french braid situation and am very disappointed because french braid pigtails on runners always look very efficient to me.

I like wearing a bandanna in the summer because it keeps my hair back and keeps the sun off my head. (Headbands and hats, I always feel like they are choking my head!)

Reply

Where is your favorite place that you have lived? It depends on the day – sometimes Israel, sometimes Australia.

Do you use a headband when you run? Bobbi pins? How do you do your hair for a run? No, but I don’t have a fringe anymore really. But my pony tail irritates me when it sticks all over my back.

On a scale from 1-10 (10 being crazy hard)… how hard was your run today? 3 haha. I didn’t push it today at all

Reply

My favorite place to live was cali, but we are now back in the cold….

Reply

I love where I live right now, Princeton, NJ! It’s a nice college town, I love the downtown area and we are only an hour from NYC/Philly.
I couldn’t imagine living somplace where they didn’t have the changing of seasons…love fall and can’t wait for snow!

I’m growing my hair out (ugh!) and so I have to use bobby pins and it usually looks ridiclious. I’ve been wearing thick Lulu headbands to cover my ears lately because it’s cold (probably not as cold as Utah!).

I didn’t run yesterday as it was my rest day. Today I’m going to a vinyasa yoga class and it will definitely be a 6/10 because I haven’t been there in forever!! Need to stretch these legs!

Karen @karenlovestorun

PS. Happy Halloween!

Reply

My favorite place I have lived is in Central Texas (near Fort Hood). We were so close to lots of big cities like Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, etc. so there was always tons of things to do. Also, I hate cold weather so Texas was a good fit for me! One thing I missed while living there though was the changing of the colors in fall. That is my favorite time of year!

I usually just put my hair in a ponytail and then use bobby pins to hold back my bangs when I run. By the time I’m done, I usually have flyaways galore. I’m going to be trying headbands soon!

Happy Halloween :)

Reply

I stick to straight up pony tail for my runs!

Reply

I’m so excited to see Brooke’s Halloween costume this year!

Reply

I’m a headband girl. My hair never stays in bobby pins.

I haven’t done my run yet today, but it will be a 2 or 3. We’re going on a spooky Halloween run after dark!

Reply

Everytime I see pics of where you run I want to run there! Looks beautiful and so different from what I am used to here. I’d probably get sick of the hills quickly though.
I always put my hands behind my head when I do sit ups but maybe I’ll change that now.

Reply

Cape Town, South Africa was definitely my favorite place that I have lived. I’d probably go back if I could take my parents with me :) Headband, bobbi pins, visor, extra hairties – whatever it takes to keep all of my hair up and off my neck!! My run was going at about a 6 until I ran into some friends half way through so the last few miles were super easy!

Reply

A headband is a must when I run!!!
No running for me today, its Halloween. Thats a good excuse right?!

Reply

I have only lived in the suburbs of chicago my entire life with the exception of college which was in the middle of cornfields in western illinois. I never really had the nerve or desire to live elsewhere until this point in my life. Kinda hard to uproot 3 kids and a husband for no real good reason though.
I was just talking about the lobster costume the other day. My daughter and I were looking at old pictures of Halloween and I was telling her how we passed the costume on to a super cute baby named Brooke. I then had to search the blog for last years pics so she could see Brooke all dressed up.

Reply

I just wanted you to know that you inspire me EVERY DAY to run faster and to “Do hard things”. My blog post today is dedicated to you and forcingm e out of my comfort zone! Thanks for always being so great at what you do! here is the link :)

I am a Texan and full of the Texas Pride, so I will have to say Houston, Tx. I did enjoy living in Bakersfield, CA but that was mostly because of the people. I wear my hair pulled back into a low ponytail. If it’s too high, then I get a headache because I have so much hair, although it’s really thin. It doesn’t really fall in my face at all, so I’m fortunate.

Reply

I have two favorite places. YMCA Camp Chingachgook on Lake George in Upstate, NY. Absolutely beautiful…especially in the summer and fall! And London. Hands down the best city in the world.
I use a headband. I usually use a gunmetal colored one from RawThreads but I also use Bondi Bands very regularly. I’m going to try making my own sometime…Where did you find that one??
I’d have to give my run a 0 for difficulty. I’m on Injury rest until at least this weekend…Stupid IT Band.

Reply

I’ve lived in 6 states, but Montana is by far my favorite. Love the mountains!

I always wear a BondiBand when I run. It keeps my earbuds in place and the sweat and hair out of my eyes. I didn’t realize how accustomed I’d gotten to wearing these until I skipped it the other day. My hair and sweaty forehead were driving me crazy!

I would say today’s run was a 7 out of 10. I had a 5 mile tempo run with a mile warmup and cooldown. During my warm up and the first two miles of the tempo portion I thought “Oh, my gosh, I’m not gonna make it!” But then I realized that while I was tired, my legs were fine and I just needed to tough it out. I ended up holding the right pace and feeling like a million bucks when I was done.

Reply

Every headband I’ve tried slips off mid-run. Maybe I have a weird shaped head? I just put my hair in a ponytail and I’m usually fine!

Reply

I like headbands but I am more of a bobbi-pin person (mainly because I don’t have shorter bangs right now so I can usually get away without a headband).

Brooke’s swagger- oh lordy…too darn cute!

Reply

My run was a 0 today. No run!
What kind of headband is that? I got one like that once from a breast cancer walk I did and I LOVE it. Wear it all the time. Would love another. I love that it doesn’t slip at all. Its like a tube, like a survivor buff. I know, I am probably one of the last people watching that show.

Reply

Favorite place to live is Decorah, Iowa- where I live now.

I usually use just basic hair clips.

My run is coming later today…should be pretty chill though.

My favorite place that I have lived is my hometown in Massachusetts! I love the seasons, especially fall and winter – I actually LIKE running in the snow!

And, my go to running hairdo is a single french braid! Keeps my mass of hair out of my face. I also have a thing for running in hats…

I can’t find a headband to stay in my hair, I have tried Bicbands, etc..and they all slide out, it must be my head

Running when sore is SO tough, but usually worth it because you can get some of the lactic acid out and feel better afterwards.

I think New England is my favorite place to live. You get all four glorious seasons.

I haven’t run yet today. I’m in the midst of cleaning my house and doing tons of laundry since I’ve been gone all weekend.

“Brooke’s Swagger!” haha…LOVE it. Also love the picture of you doing sit ups with your dad. So cute :)
