Take my debit card away.

Brooke can’t get over how cool she is now that she can climb up this toy all by herself.

DSC 6215

And then she always goes down sideways.  Must be much more thrilling that way.  I already have a rebel on my hands.

DSC 6217

She is going to have a very hard time leaving this incredible toy room because other kids’ toys are always cooler than your own.

One of the things that my SIL bought on her first ever Trader Joe’s trip the other day was their curry sauce.  We made a stir fry of chicken, red peppers, carrots and onion and then added the sauce (along with about a cup of water because it was too strong just on its own) and it was amazing.  It feels good to know that I have converted this dear friend of mine to this store.

DSC 6221

Sometimes I wonder who first started the idea of bloggers meeting up for froyo but out of respect for whoever started this tradition I will do my part to keep it going.

DSC 6223

Every single one of these girls are truly incredible.  I could have talked to them forever.

You may think I purposely try to get a picture of Brooke’s hand in my food pictures but really I can’t get one without it in it;)  She is my daughter and knows what’s up when it comes to food.

IMG 1142

These two are due on the SAME DAY and both with their third kiddo.  They must be meant to be friends.

IMG 1154

Has anyone tried these before?  Starburst finally realized that no one wants to actually have to unwrap their candy…. brilliant move on their part.  Maybe I should invest in their stock.

DSC 6227

Besides just eating candy late at night in bed when I can’t fall asleep I tend to look at clothes online for too long.

This happened and I can’t wait to get it in the mail.  Someone take my debit card away and block me from J Crew’s website.

I wonder why I feel the need to tell you every detail of my life but I just do.  And I like it like that.

Love that skirt! And your post totally made me want froyo even though it’s 9 am.

I met up with one blogger in my area and plan to meet a few at MCM and Richmond this fall. As for the Starburst… oh yeah, I saw them and had to get them for Ben. Those and the Starburst Candy Corn… have you seen that yet? That was a last night purchase when I was grocery shopping. They really have it right with putting that goodness by the checkouts.

I have to be very careful with online shopping I can get carried away too quick! I love Old Navy, Chapters, Zulily, Etsy… see? lol.
Yup, I have met quite a few now! I have made pretty great friends as well and see some often that live in the same city as me.
Skittles! Pregnancy craving!
Love curry and even better is adding coconut to it.

I’ve met a few people through the blog. I love it. The internet is clearly the best way to make friends.

I almost exclusively shop online. Working from home has made me so lazy that I refuse to leave home if I can do it online instead.

Reply

amazon is my credit card downfall! I did meet a few bloggers – one for food and another for froyo & food!

Reply

Your blogger meetup looks like fun, I wish I was in Arizona last night!

I love online shopping and getting that package in the mail always makes for a great day, I just hate when something doesn’t fit or I end up not liking it in person…returns are annoying when you buy online.

Love any good with curry, Indian-style, Thai-style, Caribbean-style, I love it all.

That skirt is so ace. I love it!

These two stores are my weakness: http://www.asos.co.uk, http://www.boohoo.co.uk. I just received a parcel today full of goodies….. :D

I am meeting with my first blogger on Sunday morning. Hurray! We’re meeting before a half marathon in London. I’m so excited because I have loads of blogging questions. And I’m hoping it will distract me from my IT band which is threatening to ruin the race for me…..

And curry is my favourite. The UK does really good curries.

Happy Friday!

Brooke is seriously looking so much older, it’s crazy how time is flying by.
And I love J. Crew for online shopping, I’m also addicted to lulus.com, asos, bebe, and forever 21 can have some cute things too. More than in stores.
Ah, I’m so craving a blogging meet up. I love them so much, but there are basically no bloggers out my way. Sad.

I am all about amazon.com. Love their Prime service!

I met you for froyo! So far, that’s my only meet up, but I’m always open for more.

The candy I ate was a York peppermint patty.

Curry is yummy! Now I want to make a curry-dish for dinner…

Reply

the skittles darkside–I don’t have to pick out the bad flavors I don’t like because I like them all. I like to shop modcloth, put a bunch of things in my cart, and then just not buy anything. This is basically an exact replica of the way I shop in a real store, too.

Reply

I love Amazon for shopping. We have Amazon Prime, so 2 day shipping with no minimum purchase amount! Love it.

Last candy I ate was skittles. Love those things, but only about twice a year because that’s a lot of sugar to ingest.

Reply

I used to online shop all the time, but I was spending SOOO much money!! So I made a new rule where if I found something I liked, I had to let it sit in my shopping cart all day and if at the end of the day I still wanted it (and thought it was worth the money), I could buy it. That helped a lot.

I am having a meet up with two of my very best blogger friends next month, and I’m pretty sure it will be the highlight of my year. Glad yall had fun last night!

Reply

I like to shop @ Forever21 because their store is just too overwhelming.

Last candy was Hot Tamales but I will definitely have to check out the Mini Starbursts.

I have met friends through online forums, but not blogs – although I kind of feel like your friend :)

Love curry! I have some in my pantry right now that is making the entire pantry smell just like curry ;) Now I want Thai food, yum!

Reply

I do most of my shopping online. We don’t have a lot of stores near us, and I don’t have time to actually go shopping, so I buy online while I’m at work. :) I usually get my running stuff from runningwarehouse.com and other stuff….well, I don’t buy a whole lot of non-running stuff. :)

Reply

Shopping online is the WAY to go!!! I love all shopping though. :)

I work for a candy sales company and we had a company meeting the past couple of days so I had all sorts of candy! Junior Mints, Toffifay and Peanut Chews!

Love curry, met a few awesome people from blogging, last candy was peanut m&m, and online shopping is non clothing items off amazon. Obsesssssssed with amazon.

Reply

Lol, its so true- other people’s toys are always better than your own :) last candy i ate was a dove dark chocolate square. and i ate it 5 mintes ago at 9:28am, because thats how i roll on fridays :)

I love your blog and all the random details:) my little sister is also going through a divorce right now too and while I don’t know you in real life you remind me of her. So sending hugs and family is such a great thing especially when rough stuff happens. I also wanted to say how jealous we (me and my 6 month old girl) are of Brooke and all her pretty hair and pony tails, my baby is so bald and probably will be for awhile ;) thank God for headbands! thanks for sharing your life with us!

Reply

Thank you so much Emily and give your sister a big hug for me!

Reply

You are so sweet!

Reply

We always want what other people have (other peoples toys, straight haired girls want curly, all of it!).

I online shop quite a bit. I work in an office and it’s just easier for me to do that on my lunch break so I don’t have to shop after work- I can go home and run!

Reply

Thai curry is my “fast food”! We always keep a pot of cooked Jasmine rice in the fridge, so all I have to do is stir fry some chicken, scallions, peppers and green beans (or whatever veggie you want to stirfry), then throw in curry paste, lime juice, 1 can coconut milk, and heat. I add cilantro before serving. Takes like 15 minutes!
I am dangerously interested in Ebay…but I am a careful buyer and only pick out the good deals. Or so I tell myself!

Reply

Loft is my weakness and I have done some online shopping through them when I didn’t have one of their stores nearby. However now that I live by one, I happen to be more poor than before so I have to use self control!!
I met YOU through blogging :) Yay for Run Like a Girl! :)

Just a quick congrats to my blonde friend Janice in the blue shirt that was so nervous to go in and meet everyone!! I’m glad I ‘forced’ her via text message!

Janae – Love the blog and your daughter is adorable. Thanks for sharing the fun, serious and silly tid bits of your life. It’s quite entertaining!

Reply

I am so glad you got her to come:) next time you should come too! Thanks for your sweet comment!

Thanks Jen for pointing that out. Glad you pushed me though. I had a blast last night.

I am BAD about buying off Amazon since I have the Prime membership – free 2-day shipping, ugh it gets me every time.
It does NOT help that I know my credit card number by heart. Super dangerous for buying online!!! :)

I love meeting people from online! I went to a blogger “UN-conference” in Vegas a couple of years ago and it was a blast!

Reply

Does Craigs List count for shopping online? If so, then yes, as I’ve been hunting that site all over to stock up on play and gym space needs (or wants?) for our family.

If you like TJ’s curry, you might enjoy their simmer sauces. My hub and son adore them! FYI- Indian food in South Africa is like Mexican food in the USA. Since the hub spent 2 years in South Africa, he’s addicted to Indian which means we have at least 3 jars of simmer and curry sauce on hand at all time!

Reply

NOT a curry fan! At least not the ones made with coconut. Something in it reminds me of chemicals. And I have made a few good friends through blogging ;-) I agree, they are awesome! GL to both of those mama’s on their third!

Reply

We love hearing every detail about your life! Keep it coming :)

I’m addicted to Amazon bc I’m a Prime member, so I get free 2-day shipping! I am also too lazy to shop around.

I love Swedish fish also, but never thought to take candy on a run. Do it all the time now thanks to u.

I also love the Trader Joe’s red curry. Heck, I love all of their sauces. makes dinner so easy.

Reply

I’ve met several amazing women through blogging (YOU included)! It truly is a wonderful thing. Glad the meet up went well!

I typically don’t shop online a ton because 1) I can go way too crazy and 2) I like to try stuff on in the store. However, Old Navy and LOFT can totally get me sometimes. Loooove that skirt that you bought! You will totally rock it.

And a major yes to curry! I’ve never tried TJ’s curry, but I obviously need to since everything else of their’s is amazing!

Reply

I love Trader Joes Green Thai Curry. I have never had the red, but I definitely want to try it!

Reply

The last candy I ate were peanut M and M’s.

Reply

Love that skirt!! I do a ton of online shopping the month before any trip back to the US so it will all be waiting for me when I get there :) Question for you, any tips for flying with a 3 month old? My little guy and I are taking a trip back to MN in October and I know you have flown with Brooke quite a bit. Any advice is helpful as it is an 8 hour flight!!

Reply

Hey Mindy, I took my daugher on a flight when she was 3 months old. It was only a little over 2 hours long (good luck with 8 hours!), but it definitely helped to give her a bottle during take off and landing. It helps with their ears. :)

Reply

Thanks Linda! I’ve upgraded to economy comfort so I will have a little more room hopefully that will help make the 8 hours a little easier :)

Reply

I am excited to meet a great group of blogger’s (including you!) at the RW Half and Festival next month. I can’t wait!

I love hearing about your day and I love updates on Brooke. It let’s me know what I have to look forward to with my little one.

Cute skirt! I also have a weak spot for J Crew.

Reply

Online shopping is dangerous! Especially the sites that save your card number like Amazon haah

Reply

I love to shop online, especially since there aren’t many good options where I live. I LOVE Amazon, 6pm, Sierra Trading Post, and Tahoe Mountain Sports. For my girls, I can’t get enough of Mini Boden and Tea Collection, and I stalk their sales.

I can’t wait to have my first live meeting with blogging buddies at the Richmond Marathon in November!

Reply

I met my Ragnar team through reading their blogs. I didn’t start my own until recently. They are all amazing women.

Reply

Night times are hard, it when the brain starts ticking- but that skirt was a great decision!
I have to tell you, I did 14 km today- not that long, but still, long for me at the moment , and used your new mantra about dealing with hard things! Love it!

Reply

I actually never got into online shopping, which is crazy considering how much I like buying stuff, but dislike the whole process of actually having to go look for it. It’s probably a good thing, though… Now the only thing I really buy is my favourite tea that I can’t find anywhere around here.

Reply

Yes to curry. I make a coconut curry chicken in the crock pot that you serve over couscous that is yummy!

I am in love that skirt. So I say shop away!! ;) Now I just need to lose 20lbs so I can borrow it from you!! I have a shopping problem. I buy stuff for my kids more than me though. Cause everything looks good on them. They don’t have to worry if it flatters or what not. I love clothes for me but I am also el cheapo so I tend to compromise and buy the lesser cute stuff at stores like Old Navy instead of the stuff I really want because it costs more. I am a quantity person when it comes to clothes apparently.

Ya. Pretty much you are the only person I met through blogging, cause yours is the only blog I read regularly. And then I latched onto Megan and Ashley as well. So thanks for that. lol.

I ate the dark chocolate and coconut covered almonds from Costco. Soooo yummy! And I love the pic of Brooke and the slide. Her smile can brighten anyone’s day I am sure of it.

Reply

Cute skirt, delicious fro yo, and good friends — great post! :)

Have a great weekend!

Reply

Chocolate is ALWAYS the answer to the last candy I ate. I’m bad at blogging, so I haven’t me anyone through it yet :-)

Reply

I love curry but I’m still get used to using it in recipes I make up. I love blogger meetups! We have gone to a full catered event before but usually we just meet a restaurant in St. Louis!

Reply

Can I just say how much I love Brooke’s outfit?! Adorable!! I have become a really good online window shopper… I even put stuff in my cart but can resist before I actually check out. :)

Reply

Starburst may have figured out what we don’t want to unwrap their candy, but obviously they still don’t know that is an individual serving, not a sharing size. Women don’t share food.

Boden. Hands down. My favorite clothing store. If I only could shop at one place for the rest of my life it would be Boden. Love it so much.

Reply

I am way too lazy to go shopping at mall because of the whole “trying things on” process, so online shopping is right up my alley. I can’t stand breaking a sweat in the dressing rooms. LOL The last candy I ate was a frozen dark chocolate reeses cup :D

Reply

No curry!!!!!!!!!!
I have never met anyone through blogging but would LOVE to! When are you going to be in Iowa?!?!
Peanut butter m&m’s just last night…and today too for that matter :)
Online shopping…..Runner’s Warehouse and Road Runner Sports…my favorites :)…I didn’t used to liek online shopping , but I am getting better at it. Oiselle is my next online stop!

Reply

So maybe online shopping is my kryptonite/Achilles’ heel. Maybe. And not to be an enabler, but you should totally check out Ann Taylor Loft online. A) Super cute clothes. B) Sales. All. The. Time. That skirt? A definite win, btw.

Reply

I shop online at least once a week. I should own stock in Lululemon! I’ve only met one blogger, she picked me up from my hotel for a race. I was so nervous but it was great to get to meet someone else I talk to on twitter and facebook. Last candy I ate was Lindt Dark Chocolate Truffles. Not a fan of curry.

Reply

omg starburst minis!?!?! And yea, I can’t even go on JCrew’s site… it’s so dangerously amazing.

Reply

I am so glad to hear TJs curry sauce is amazing – I have been wanting to try it forever. . . I guess I shouldn’t be surprised though, they don’t have too many #fails at that store. ;)

Reply

I shop for running clothes – shoes online way to often. I have 8 pairs of Vibrams! Someone really should take all plastic away from me.

I seriously can’t remember the last candy I ate. I had a double stuffed oreo yesterday and some homemade strawberry ice cream…..delicious!

I LOVE CURRY!

Reply

I am a big believer in online shopping. Maybe too big? Guiltiest place I online shop from is lululemon.

I love curry as well… that dinner looked so good. I have been making a sweet potato curry soup lately and it’s delicious. I think I will be getting something with curry in it for lunch today as you have inspired me.

Reply

That skirt is beautiful! I agree, online shopping is dangerous, especially when there is free shipping involved.

Reply

I just bought the same skirt! I am an addict i admit it. Somebody needs to either take away my credit card or block my access to Jcrew.com ! PS: Brook is super cute as always!

Reply

On the Trader Joe’s AND candy note – I went to TJ’s last night and they sure know how to get you with all that chocolate at the register as you wait in line and stare at it. So I grabbed a bag of dark chocolate covered almond toffee. It was so good! Obviously I ate the whole package at once and didn’t save any for today like planned.

Reply

I shop online at Amazon pretty regularly….and then we just bought a painting from Gallery Direct! Some stuff is much easier (and less time consuming) to search for online!

Reply

For the record, I’m really happy you feel like sharing your days with us too. I always look forward to your posts. Thanks for sharing your days with us!

Reply

Love that skirt! And that toy room is amazing, j would never want to leave either!

Reply

I found a bag of Cookies n Cream eggs the other day that I stored in my freezer from an “after Easter clearance candy event” and it made me very, very happy.

I love that skirt! online shopping is my downfall. I never store my cards online and try to keep my purse on the other side of the house when I online “window shop.”

Reply

I had some sugar free red vines-not a good idea!! omg, they gave me the worse gas!
It brought me back to being at my grandma’s house and she would always have sugar free candy. Stick to the Sugary kind!

Reply

I completely love your blog! You are so down to earth and easy to relate to. AND you inspire me so much! As a just beginner novice runner I hope to be as talented as you are one day. Thank you so much for sharing these little pieces of your life!

Reply

I had candy corn! But I found some smores flavored candy corn! It’s goooood! And pumpkin spice – it was ok. But nothing beats the original!

Reply

I online shop way too much – I just ordered a sweatshirt from VS this morning! And Swanson Vitamins is my favorite site for online food shopping.

I’ve never done a blogger meet-up before but I’m going to the Healthy Living Summit next weekend so I’ll meet plenty of girls there!

Reply

CUTE skirt.

I looooovee online shopping, and don’t love to actually go to a store. So I am with ya girl! ;)

Mmmmm fro YO!

Reply

cute skirt! I have to keep myself from online shopping at Target. I have the redcard so free shipping + 5% off makes me want EVERYTHING i see. very dangerous for my wallet ;)

Reply

I’ve met bunches of bloggers. Mostly met up for a run or to go watch a race. I have yet to experience the #BLOGGYFROYOMEETUP and I’m feeling sort of deprived. The last candy I ate was gummy worms and a ring pop.

Reply

Ooh I am going to look for those starburst minis now!

Last candy I ate was a jawbreaker. We went to a wedding last weekend and they had little goodie bags for the guests and those were one of the treats inside. :)

I am on runningwarehouse.com WAY too much and Victoria’s Secret when it’s swimsuit season – their bathing suits are so cute!

Reply

Met a handful of Detroit area blogger runners, and we tend to meet at races.
But, now I can’ t lie about my race times. Fantasy shattered.

Reply

Seriously crazy to see my picture on your blog…so honored to meet you!

MINI STARBURSTS!!! Mollie’s favorite candy is Starbursts and the wrapper kind of slows down the eating process….these Mimi’s could be magical for her! ;)

Take care and enjoy the rest of your stay in AZ. We fly out Sunday morning, so excited to get home and see my little ones.

Reply

It’s okay to feel famous for seeing your picture on here, haha! It was so fun to meet you!

Reply

I concur with what Kari said – the photo is a little surreal! :) It was great to meet you, Brooke, your SIL and all the other ladies. Thanks for “hosting” and hopefully we’ll run into each other again sometime. I’ll make sure to have my little guy in tow so he and Brooke can be buddies! :)

Reply

I need those starbursts in my life! Yum. I’ve never met a blogger in real life but would love to have a froyo meet up. I am so dangerous with online shopping. It’s just too easy to click away all my money.

Reply

Christian and I were watching the NFL game last night (okay, he was…) and I made him leave the TV after the first quarter to go get froyo with me. He’s a good guy ;) Brooke is SO CUTE! So is that skirt!

i prefer to online shop rather than at the store! I shop all over. i buy a lot of stuff from victoria secret online, or kohls online too!
and i met on blogger who lives a town over from me :) we met at a delicious restaurant of course!!

I love that skirt! I do online shop, I love liketwice.com, it’s consignment for nicer things. Very cute stuff. I don’t blog, and thus have never met up at a blogger meet up. I would love to meet you though and eat fro-yo! The only fro to shop we have is Menchies and I love their cake batter flavour!

With all due respect, I think you should send me a Subway gift card. Because of you, I have eaten THREE buffalo chicken subs this week. I’m not even a buffalo chicken fan! The picture you posted the other day looked so good, that I had to try it…and of course it was awesome, so I keep going back!! :) Sorry, off topic I know! Ha.

Bahahahah! This made me so happy! That sandwich is seriously soooo good!

I ALMOST bought that skirt last week. I was seconds from placing the order when I said to myself, “Jill, put the card down. Step away from the computer.” I’m bummed I didn’t get it, but there will be other skirts, right?

I LOVE curry! And that TJs sauce is fantastic. My boyfriend bought a five-pound bag of gummy worms, along with a bag of extreme sour sour patch kids and these gummy eggs. We’re stocked.

I seriously LOVE that skirt!! I am so jealous. :) I love J. Crew and Banana Republic, but I usually have to find their stuff at Goodwill or the outlet mall. I keep hoping that once I have a job I will be able to afford their clothes more often! :)

I met a couple of girls through blogging. We met at a race we were all running. I love online shopping. I like searching the clearance and sales online. I just got a killer deal on some new running shoes. Thank goodness for the internet!

I do almost all my shopping online! Athleta, Title Nine, Skirt Sports, and Team Estrogen.com.
My sister just moved to Boulder and gets to try out the Skirt Sports clothes as tests- wear and wash, wear and wash, then send back. She gets paid in gift cards! SO cool!!!

Reply

I don’t really shop online too much for clothes. My body is strange aka athletic. Small waist but muscular thighs and glutes, so I can never consistently find sizes! That skirt is adorable!!!!!! Can we be twins????
I have never met anyone from blogging but would love to meet you!! Maybe I should start my own blog hmmmmm.
I had Swedish fish before my run yesterday. :-)
Curry is amazing. Peanut curry is my favorite!

Amazon or Old Navy.com get way too much of my money.

I met another blogger for a race at Virginia Tech this past spring and we are doing a half marathon together there next weekend! So far that’s been my only blogger meet-up.

In grad school the couple that lived next to us used so much curry when cooking that the odor overtook our apartment. I couldn’t eat for hours after they ate. Years later, I still can’t stand curry!

Love curry and I just ate salt water taffy! Favorite flavors are watermelon, cinnamon and blue raspberry!

Cute skirt :) And I am not a spicy fan – ew ;)

I’m pretty new to the blogging world so I haven’t met anyone yet. You should venture down to Tucson….we have a few pretty kick ass froyo places! (And Brooke could have a lovely little playdate with my daughter Avery.)

JCrew is often dangerous to my debit card as well. Same with JCrew Factory for weekend shopping!

And I recently discovered that in addition to my addiction to PB-Banana smoothies, I’m also addicted to PB M&Ms. :) Deeeelish!

Reply

I love shopping online. Road Runner Sports and Old Navy are my favorites. RRS for obvious reasons and Old Navy because they have talls/longs on-line. I’m the biggest impulse buyer ever!!!!!

Reply

Brooke is starting to look like you, Janae! So pretty :) I don’t really shop online that often…I’m kind of a loser. I’d have to choose Amazon I guess because that’s where I buy most of my things from. I had heath bits and peanut butter cups on my froyo tonight..does that count as eating candy? I am a curry fan. I LOVE it. I don’t eat it nearly enough :)

Reply

One of my BFF in the world is someone I met through a blog and finally got to meet at a NC Bloggers Meetup in 2010. We are kindred sisters and she is just the best! Hmmm, right now I am in a candy corn obsession {I blame the arrival of Fall} and can’t get enough. Curry…ummm…NO! Can’t stand the smell.

I totally thought that the bloggers meeting over froyo thing originated from you! Well either way its a good tradition! I got to meet Elizabeth and Noah from My Neon Running Shoes at her beautiful home and I hope to meet Emma and Gentry from A Mom Runs This Town maybe over froyo very soon.

Omg Brooke looks so grown up in that picture!!

I love TJ’s green curry sauce (never tried the red), but I use it full force!

I do a lot of online shopping–kids clothes, running gear, Xmas gifts!

Last candy peanut butter m&m’s. Yum!

Brooke is so cute!!!

I used to shop online all the time. It is sooo easy, too easy. Now I like to put items in my “cart” and walk away for a while. The added bonus is that some websites send a coupon code if you leave stuff in your cart.

I tend to buy more for V online. I love the Children’s Place. Their clothes hold up so well and when they have sales, look out!!

Brooke looks so proud that she did that all by herself.

I am totally going to have to try those starburst. The only downfall, the starburst wrappers were the best to make those little origami Chinese stars, and throw them at the girls when I was in 5th grade!

I love to online shop! It’s definitely dangerous, though! ;) I used to blog on tumblr, and we had meet ups all the time. I’m still friends with a bunch of people I met on there!

I am in love with that skirt!

I can seriously get carried away with online shopping, so I try to exercise some self control. My biggest weakness these days is InkNBurn for the most amazing running clothes, but I’ve had to give myself a stern talking-to. NO MORE UNTIL CHRISTMAS!
