We go a little crazy over…

Getting up to run early is close to a million times easier when you have friends to meet up with.  I did 8 recovery miles with some speedy chickas (one already runs a sub 3 marathon and the other is currently training for sub 3 for the St. George Marathon in October).  Besides the awesome conversation that makes the time fly by these girls have already motivated me even more to get that sub 3 soon.  Training with them a few times a week will make the world of difference.

These girls even inspired me to go to the gym and lift weights and do planks for a few minutes.

Darn those good influences.

We ran on the river trail which I loved because I rarely run on that trail anymore because I run when it is too early to be on it by myself.

The Anderson family goes a little crazy over peaches.  Each fall Utah produces the most delicious peaches and my mom buys boxes of them at a time.  4 peaches for breakfast is completely normal.

I am really trying to figure out Brooke’s face in the below picture.  I think there is a hint of jealousy that I am holding another baby along with a lot of happiness that she has a new boyfriend in her life.  This little one is just 6 weeks old and he is the sweetest.

I am really lucky that a lot of my best friends from growing up still live in the area now that I am back.  She picked up Kneader’s salads (turkey/avocado/bacon) for us and we ate them at her house and talked for hours.

Later on I picked up my sis to shop for Brooke’s birthday party!  Brooke is a little too intellectual for Target and decided to read as we went up and down every aisle.

Thank you again Target for robbing me.

My new thing lately is going to a yoga class after Brooke goes to sleep at my gym.  It is the easy kind of yoga and super relaxing because let’s be honest…night time is the hardest time of day for me and this helps a lot!.  I like to come home, talk to one of my brothers on the phone and eat ice cream out of the carton while my mom walks in and takes a picture of me.

Those salads look fantastic! Coming home to friends probably helps a lot. Especially those good influence friends! I’m so happy you’re having a bday party for Brooke, I was a little upset when you didn’t!

Sooo many things I want to comment on!

1. I’m so jealous of the frequency that you eat out…and you don’t just rush through the meals because they’re convenient, you sit down and get to enjoy your family and friends AND have someone prepare something fresh and delicious for you! That’s one of my favorite things in the world!

2. That ice cream is sooo good. Not as good as an actual red velvet cupcake, but it’s a close call.

3. I’ve already had 3 peaches today. Gotta make room for the new bushel from the farmer’s market tomorrow!

I wish I could like or really get into yoga. I like it, but it is not something I love so it is hard to really stick with it.
If my calf heals fast enough I will hopefully be running a half marathon in January. I see my doctor tomorrow, so hopefully I get to start running again soon!
My workout was a 65 minute elliptical in the morning and an ab routine in the afternoon.

At first I hated yoga, but now I love it! It’s super relaxing, and since I don’t stretch like I should, it feels really good! Plus, I’m ready for bed after yoga… haha. I have a speed workout on the agenda along with a gentle Pilates class. I can’t wait to hear all about Brooke’s party! You’re an awesome mama! :)

I love yoga…but I don’t do it nearly as much as I should. I find that I am more likely to do it during the winter months when it’s freezing outside! This fall I am running the Baltimore and Philadelphia Marathons. Today is a rest day ! :)

What is it that makes ice cream straight out of the carton taste SOOO much better than a scoop?!

1) I LOVE yoga! I tried out Bikram a couple years ago and its become my favorite – I like to go once a week if possible, I come out sore but also totally stretched after all my runs that week.

2) I’ve got about 11 races scheduled for the fall, along with my first half!

3) Rest day today!

PS – I love peaches and wish they were always in season!

Janae, where does your mom buy those peaches? I’ve been looking to buy them in bulk so I can make pies/cobblers/jam and other deliciously fall things. I love Utah peaches, but haven’t found them in those sized boxes! Also, I have never been a fan of yoga. My workout today was a Jillian Michael’s 6 week 6 pack abs video. It’s just on YouTube so it’s free and I really like it for a core workout! Have a great day and hope you’re doing well :)

I love that chicken recipe! I’m English and I got it from my youngest sister who lives there. We call it Sticky Chicken–highly appropriate, I think you’ll agree :)
Yoga? I kinda like it but after about 20 minutes I want to get going and DO something.

OHMYGOSH! That red velvet cake ice cream has GOT to be the best ice cream in the world. HANDS DOWN!

Excellent choice!

How is that ice cream? I’ve been eyeing it in the stores for weeks but haven’t bought it yet….I tried Ben and Jerry’s brand of red velvet and was disappointed….let me know!

I love Brooke’s little dress. It’s adorable!

I love yoga, but do I do it? Not often enough!

The only race I’m signed up for right now is the Hokie Half at my alma mater! I can’t wait! I ran a pretty easy six miles today, except that I couldn’t go until mid-day so it was hot!

-I have never loved or not loved it. I have done some sessions and find it to have great benefits. But have never got into a habit of doing it on a reg basis.

Who is running a fall race? Which one? Anyone running the St. George Marathon?
-Me! I am running a few. My first is in Sept, the Mad Anthony Half in Waynesboro, PA. In October, I am running the Freedom’s Half Marathon in Shepherdstown, WV and the Hershey Half Marathon in Hershey, PA.

What is your workout going to be today?
-Rest day :)

So, I’m mad cause I read sadness in your words but there are also many great moments of joy….I want to know why…I want to imagine that Billy is a horrible person….I’m not asking you to tell us why. Just that I feel your pain and am sending you peaceful vibes. Keep up the great work. You are a super strong woman!!!

Yoga is wonderful.. It helped me a lot to get moving again when I was still really sore after a car accident a few years ago.. And it is so wonderful to help release all the stress and worries of the day that we bottle up! I swear yoga has magical healing powers :)

I was registered to run my first ultra this weekend coming, but some circumstances out of my control have meant that it is no longer an option (beyond bummed.. maybe time for some yoga!) On the bright side, I should be more than prepared for a fall marathon once I am on my feet again, especially after logging so many long runs in preparation for the ultra!

I hope you’re feeling better!!

Man you have some beautiful running views! Jealous! And I could eat 4 of those peaches right this second they look so good!

I am doing the Fox Valley Half Marathon, and V and I are doing the Morton Arboretum 5k. I am really hoping V places in his age group. Esp since there are kids runs. I haven’t mentioned anything to him, since I have no idea what the age groups are.

I love and hate yoga!!! Yoga makes me more frustrated because I can’t sit still…which is probably why I need it. I try to do yoga occasionally though since it is good for us runners.

I’m running the Blue Ridge Relay in a few weeks! It’s my first relay, so I’m excited.

Today’s workout…25 minute elliptical and then an hour flex n’ pump class.

I LOVE yoga! I just don’t have a class at my gym that is in the evenings I’m able to go to. It’s a bummer. I do the P90X Yoga sometimes, but it takes almost an hour and that’s hard to do at home with two babies crawling all over me :)

Who is running a fall race? Me! Which one? Napa Ragnar!

What is your workout going to be today? I ran 3.5 miles with hubby & the double stroller.

Yoga? No. Hate it. Which is exactly why I probably should do it. Running Lake Tahoe marathon in late September. The altitude will probably kill me…

Love that pic of you, Brooke and baby. You’re all adorable.

I am not a fan of yoga. I torn a hamstring in yoga and spent months in PT as a result. I am running the South Jordan (SoJo) half in October. My first half in over two years (darn hammy).

Yum those salads look great! I can’t wait to see how Brooke’s birthday party turns out, I bet it is awesome!

LOVE yoga. Went to yin/yang this morn. Love power/vinyasa to get my sweat on and yin/yang for deep muscle stretching and relaxation mixed with a little flow.

I’m late to the party! Just finally catching up on blogs after a crazy week of work. ;)

Be honest: Do you love yoga or are you not a fan of yoga?
I. LOVE. YOGA. I’m more into the hot power yoga, but I can do any kind of yoga and still love it. Because I suck at stretching and it forces me to stretch. :)

Who is running a fall race? Which one? Anyone running the St. George Marathon?
I am! Two actually, the See Jane Run Wichita half marathon and the Prairie Fire Marathon (my first full!) is also in Wichita. I’d love to come run the St. George sometime, my cousins live in St. George, but I’m pretty sure the hills would KILL ME! I mean, I do live in Wichita. It’s super flat here.

What is your workout going to be today?
I ran 5 easy miles this morning with my running group and then we followed it up with an express hot yoga class. See, love my yogi runner friends. ;)
