Overcome by our own awesomeness and Billy’s idea of the perfect meal.

I really do love me some Special K but the strawberry kind seemed kind of strange to me.  Sunday morning we only had one kind of cereal left and it was the Special K strawberry one that Billy got at Costco while I was gone.  I was extremely nervous about this cereal ruining my Sunday morning cereal tradition but it didn’t.  It isn’t as good as the vanilla almond kind but it is still pretty good.

Just another Sunday church day for us.  It is a miracle that I still know where both of Brooke’s jelly sandals are.

While at church I passed Billy my phone to fill in the Father’s Day Dinner Menu and this is what he is wanting for his meal.   Not a bad meal plan if you ask me….especially the It’s It.

Photo 1

After church Billy had to go to school again so it was just me and Brooker for english muffins and a couscous autumn salad from Whole Foods.

Dinner was something to be talked about though.  Chicken fajitas.  I love the person that invented the idea to wrap delicious foods up in a tortilla and call it dinner.  Onions, green peppers, red peppers, jalapeños, chicken, cheese and pico.  Pineapple and blueberries hanging out in the back.

A reader sent this to me the other day and I absolutely loved it!

Awesomeness

I’ve got a stride workout on the schedule today… this workout always makes my legs feel like jello.  I can’t wait.

 ————————————————————————–

Tell me one food (not dessert foods) that you really could eat every day for the rest of your life and not get sick of?

-Cereal.

What is one of your running goals for this week?

-To rock my Saturday run that is already making me kind of nervous because it is going to be hard!

Thoughts on skirts and dresses?  Like them or not so much?

-I usually do not enjoy wearing dresses/skirts and change in to sweat pants the second I get home but the above maxi skirt (I think it is called a maxi skirt?) was really comfortable.

I could eat your father’s day meal every day of my life… that and Kashi cookies.. have I mentioned those before?
Good luck on the workout.. here’s to non jello legs!

Emma, I was just thinking the same thing!! Hmm, looks like I know what Steve will be having for father’s day ;)

And Janae, I actually kind of like dresses and skirt, but still spend the majority of my time in workout clothes or my VS boyfriend sweats. But I could probably live in a maxi skirt. So comfy and still flattering and stylish :)

Running goal for this week: start running again after breaking my toe a few weeks ago! Really looking forward to it.
Also pretty inspired to eat cereal right now :)

Reply

I also change as soon as I get home! Something about running clothes is just so much more comfortable!

Reply

Love that maxi skirt! I’m big into maxi dresses these days, otherwise I just wear jeans. I need to invest in a good pair of sweatpants, I’m thinking!

Great runner’s quote! Enjoy your workout. :)

Reply

I could eat pineapple, strawberries, pears, and the gluten free chocolate muffins forever.

I love skirts and dresses, but since I work from home I rarely wear them. I have two skirt faves- an REI one that is very comfy (Willow Skirt- I’m not sure they make it anymore) and the one in which I got married. (On a pier, over the Potomac, at sunset, with freezing winds…. to my best friend- 30 days after we met!)

Reply

I could eat eggs and oatmeal everyday. Running goal this week is to get fixed by the chiropractor so I can run! I love your skirt…I have to be in the mood to wear a skirt/dress, then I like it.

Reply

I totally wish I could go to Costco and try those ice cream sandwiches.. they look delicious!!

One food I could eat every day: chocolate. Its a curse but my love for chocolate is everlasting. haha.

Reply

I really could eat PB&J everyday for the rest of my life. I never get sick of it.

And I love your maxi skirt!! Aren’t they so comfortable?

Reply

I could eat watermelon everyday and not get sick of it. I think this week is kind of a big week for me because after 12 and a half weeks, I think I’m going to try a short run!! I’m both excited and super nervous!

I love skirts and dresses, but have a difficult time finding dresses that are long enough for my abnormally long torso. I love that skirt!

Reply

Cereal is definitely one food that I can never get sick of. That and bananas, Greek yogurt, almond butter, and chocolate could easily make up the bulk of my diet for the rest of my life and I’d be perfectly content :D

Reply

I just bought tht same maxi skirt a few weeks ago! I have yet to wear it though. Maybe today. If I end up showering which given my track record lately is not likely. I could eat grapes every day for the rest of my life. I can’t get enough of them- they’re so good!

Reply

Agreed… cereal. I eat it almost every day.

My running goals this week are to go on some good runs on the beach and I’m hoping to get some fun pictures of running with the horses!

Reply

I could eat eggs everyday and never get tired of them. They are just too good.
I love your maxi skirt! I like skirts/dresses but nothing can compete with my beloved yoga pants/sweats once I am at home.

I could eat cereal every day as well.

I couldn’t live without coffee. There’s this great grocer in Melbourne called Leo’s food store and has the best and widest range of coffee beans. We have a Costco but you have to have a Australia Business Number to be able to get a membership and go in. I couldnt live without my organic vegetable delivery I get each week too.
My running goals for this week is to step up to my first week of 160km. I will try to run a fartlek tomorrow but my ITB has been giving me grief from Aus mountain running champs last weekend ( I came 2nd which is auto selection in the Australian team) do you have any advice for ITB relief?

Reply

omg definitely cereal. unprocessed, I’d pick sweet potatoes.

Reply

Depends on the dress/skirt sometimes I change when I can if its not that comfortable but a lot of the times they are super comfortable so I don’t mind wearing it longer. I agree that the almond vanilla is better than the strawberry special K!

Reply

I could eat artichokes for the rest of my life or steamed brussle sprouts with lemon.

I’m starting my official marathon training program today! I’m excited for it…even though I’ve pretty much been ‘marathon training’ since February!

I love both skirts and dresses but prefer dresses – easier to just put on and go.

Reply

I’m still struggling WTH my second bout of plantar fasciitis. Oh, miserable. The stair master and I have been hanging out a lot lately. I eat oatmeal for breakfast every day and have done so for over ten years. Maxi skirts are so comfortable!

Reply

I could eat cereal every day. In particular Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Frosted Mini Wheats. I have my first strider workout this week! Exciting times.

Reply

I could eat Blue Chips and Hummus all day, every day.

I am all about athletic wear during my free time, so I only wear skirts and dresses for work or special occasions. I love your striped maxi skirt! Where did you get it?

Reply

I could eat that every day too!!! Thank you, it is from J Crew Factory!

Reply

I could eat peanut butter (and do) every day and not get sick of it.

My goal for the week is for my IT/Knee to feel better and be able to run all my scheduled mileage.

Reply

One food? It would have to be apples. Or rice. Rice is good plain or as a base for so many things. I’m taking this assignment very seriously you see!

Reply

Bananas. I eat one every day! Those fajitas look delicious- I love to make veggie ones and stuff them with squash and zucchini!

Reply

I love your outfit! I am such a huge maxi fan. They’re soo comfortable and flowy, they’re like the perfect piece of clothing in the summer. one food for the rest of my life- tabouli salad and a pita to go with it. i am obsessed.

Reply

I could eat fresh pineapple every day. I live in sweats most days, but I do love my Lole & Patagonia sundresses in summer. So cute & comfy!

Reply

Cereal & granola. I once conducted a little experiment, decided to eat only cereal and granola during 3 days to see whether I was sick of it. Nope. Not a chance!

Reply

I used to LOVE cereal! I could eat it for every meal. I cut it out of my diet a few years ago, though. Even the healthier ones are hard on my waistline. You reminded me of Honey Bunches of Oats with Strawberries- I’d totally forgotten it! My favorite was to mix it with frosted mini wheats. Omg ok I have to stop now. It’s too bad the boxes are so big. I wish I could just buy a bowl every once in a while. Nothing like carbs and sugar!

Reply

Not get sick of it? Fruit, froyo, or fajitas with guac and pico.
I prefer anything that isn’t jeans/pants so dresses are right up my alley. The maxi ones though- those short dresses barely make it down to the bottom of my bum.

I am fully aware I sound like my grandma.

Reply

That maxi skirt is adorable!
I would never get sick if cereal either. I always have to have several in hand, it’s the best snack!!

Reply

You are looking forward to your stride workout? Crazy lady! LOL You guys look so cute going to church. I love your skirt!

Reply

I love your skirt, where did you get it? I love dresses bc they are just so easy to get dressed in when in a rush/dont know what to wear!

I could eat pb toast everyday!

Reply

Yum. Pb toast IS the best!

Reply

I LOVE that skirt!!!! Where is it from? I do not really like to wear them thaht much and I change pretty quick, but I do wear them to church and that one looks so comfortable!!!!
Bagels….or cereal is up there too. Those It’s it cookies look very good….it is making me want to go to Costco!
I am excited to hear about your Sat run….what do you have to try to do? My running goals this week are pretty easy after the 1/2. I took yesterday off and today is gonna be slow and easy :)

Reply

Now you have me craving bagels!!!! Thank you, it is from J Crew Factory!!!

Reply

I LOVE bagels!!! :)….I also love Factory outlets!!!! Happy Monday!

Reply

Almond butter.
Just to run! It is getting harder these days as my bump gets bigger.
I love dresses and wear them probably 3-4 days a week in the summer and 1-2 times in the winter with leggings. I wear skirts less but still here and there.

Reply

I wear dresses to church a lot during the summer, but other than that, I hardly ever do.

My training goal for this week is to get as much sleep as possible! I have an all-night race this weekend, and I want to be really well rested going into it.

Reply

Bahaha, love that picture!

Reply

Ummm Billy just listed my all time favorite foods in one meal… can I come have dinner with you guys?? Hahah

Reply

Mexican food! Already eat it pretty much everyday!

My goal is to stick with my training schedule everyday… Been a bit off the past few weeks!

I don’t mind skirts and dresses but I rarely wear them… I have a couple that I like and are super comfortable. I love your skirt! Where’s it from??

Reply

“I love the person that invented the idea to wrap delicious foods up in a tortilla and call it dinner.” -> YES. Not only are tacos and wraps so easy to make, but they’re also really versatile and so yummy! It’s great.

One food that I could eat for the rest of my life and not get sick of is Starbucks caffe latte with soymilk. It’s not really a food, but it’s definitely the one thing I could consume day in and day out without ever getting bored.

Reply

haha I love that poster!! I was just working on our father’s day menu too – we are grilling – brats, chips and dip, fruit, coleslaw and dessert. I am working through how to stay on budget for my grocery challenge while stocking up for this party! Wish me luck. :) http://www.running4cupcakes.com/grocery-challenge-month-1/

Reply

Ooh, can I come over for your father’s day dinner? Haha. Sounds like quite the menu! Love the skirt that you wore to church. My running goals for this week: recover from the half I ran on Saturday and maybe finally get my plantar fasciitis to heal itself. Have a great Monday! :)

Reply

Love your skirt.

Cereal, and I do eat it everyday, sometimes twice a day.

Running goal, to be gentle with my hip…….it is feeling a little something.

Reply

Running goal for the week is to have fun at my half marathon on Saturday. This will probably be the first race I don’t PR at and in looking to just have fun. I’m not sure i am capable of that. I might still try to race it. :)

Reply

-I could just eat fresh fruit for the rest of my life and be happy.
-My running goal is to get in 4 runs this week, one of them being HIIT and one being a long distance.
-I LOVE dresses and skirts – I’d choose them over jeans ANY day. I just got a maxi skirt from Target this past week and love it!

Reply

Pickles.

My running goal is to get my mileage back up to where it was before I got lazy and fat…aka a month ago (and I’m not fat, but isn’t that another adjective that always accompanies lazy?)

I would never wear pants if I didn’t have to, skirts and dresses all the way for this lady. If I have to wear pants, they are usually patterned or colored…regular denim just doesn’t suit my personality ;)

Reply

My husband and I were just talking about how cool it would have been to be the first person to ever have put meat in between bread. They pretty much invented every food we eat now haha

Reply

Pizza for sure. I ate it every day for a month while I was pregnant. :)

Running goal is to have 4 pain-free runs (recovering from a year-long epic battle with plantar fasciitis).

Not a huge fan of skirts and dresses (I prefer shorts) but I’ve found some really cute and comfy ones at Global Girlfriend (globalgirlfriend.com) AND they help women in developing countries work their way out of poverty.

Reply

Clif bars lol but I already eat them every day……Hoping to rock my sprints tomorrow!!! Love maxi skirts, don’t have one, need to find one to fit my shorty height

Reply

I love wearing dresses and skirts to work or church, but as soon as I get home I slip on my running clothes.
I actually do not eat cereal because I would the the entire box in one day. So I guess that is the food I could eat all day everyday. Also fresh Brussels sprouts are my favorite. My husband complains that we eat them too much, :)

Good luck on your workouts, you will rock it I am sure!!!!

Reply

Pretty sure I could eat guacamole daily and never get sick of it…same with chocolate, pulled pork, and peanut butter…I’m cool with those making up the majority of my food intake. I like cereal, but it’s not really a ‘gotta-have-it’ thing for me.

I love dresses and skirts, but haven’t worn them too often yet this year! Will have to change that.

Reply

I cannot say one food item, but I can say one meal, which would be breakfast and what I prepare on alternating days and never tire of it. 1) Trader Joe’s Steel cut oats (slow cooked) ~ add a few walnuts, dried cranberries, raisins, blueberries, two slices of banana, and freshly grated cinnamon. 2) Egg (from Amish), ½ slice pumpernickel bread w/ honey (both from Amish) and slice of pineapple + 3 strawberries (from whole Foods)

Running ~ recovering from 3rd (will not say injury ~ refer to as nuisance ~ inner thigh, calf, then knee) Need to faithfully stretch out really good on my aeropilates “before & after” and just get my 3 runs in per week. I would be so grateful!

Just read this from my Chiro’s website – did not know about the jumping jacks!!!

Therapy Tip: To avoid injury in athletes, “Build strong muscles to protect joints and ligaments. The best routines are yoga, Pilates, band training, and jumping jacks. ‘They prevent injuries because they’re building muscle mass around your joints,’ says Adam Bennett, a doctor at Northwestern who works with the Bears.” (chicagomag.com)

Love your skirt ~ looks comfy and flowing!

You and Brooke look all super cute for church. I have yet to find a maxi skirt that looks good on me. I LOVE them on everyone else, but for some reason, not on me. I do have a maxi dress though and I love it. It is like wearing pj’s to church. I usually change out of my skirts/dresses right when I get home, but the maxi dress I usually leave on.

I have no goals for running this week. Wondering if I should take it off and just cross train so my hamstring/adducters will actually get better. I did Turbo and then weights this morning. Or perhaps I should actually see a dr. since it has been months now. lol. We have a high deductible though and I don’t want to pay hundreds of dollars to have them tell me I should rest. Ha!

I could eat nuts for every snack, every day and never get sick of them. I seriously have a problem.

Ya. Billy’s ideal dinner is nothing like what Ross’ would be. Let’s hope they never have to eat their last dinner together ;) Ross’ would be some form of BBQ – like brisket – or Mexican (real Mexican) food, tons of carbs, NO vegetables and some high sugar ice cream concoction or a dozen donuts for dessert.

Good luck today with your stride workout today. I know you will crush it!

Reply

My running goals for the week are STILL recovery from a stupid marathon. I have a bad attitude about recovery. Which is probably why my times have gotten slower the past year. I’m trying a new thing and trying to actually take time to recover after a race. So hard…

Reply

I didn’t have to think twice – french fries!!!!

Reply

What a difficult question that is! I had to think about it for a while, ha! Ice Cream? Peanut Butter? Cake? Water Melon? Gummi Candie? Cookies? Pan Cakes? Making the wrong decision here could be fatal! I think, I would go with Chocolate-Müsli mixed into Strawberry Yoghurt. Probably.

Love Maxi Skirts! Wish I wouldn’t look like a “Litfaßsäule” (advertising column) in them.

Reply

I’m not a huge fan of dresses because I feel like I have to be careful not to show anything… esp running after two kids all the time.
I could live on cereal OR vegetable fajitas… any fajitas really.
My running goal for this week is to get through a good long run on Saturday by myself. I always run with someone else and they motivate me. I’m going to work hard on motivating myself. I think a new playlist is in order.

Reply

Eat every day: Bananas

Running Goals this week: Run.. outside & bike (I have a new red one!)

I love skorts in the summer. I never dress up much any more, but use to wear skirts every day for work. I kind of miss having a reason to get dressed up.

Reply

I never wore dresses until I got to college and became too lazy to put on a pair of shorts. If I wasn’t wearing sweaty running apparel, I just slipped a dress over my head and called it a day lol! I love how you discuss dinner during church haha! I could eat peanut butter every day and be content.

Reply

Ha I love that your husband has Dr. Pepper on the dinner menu! In my house growing up, soda was a special occasion thing too! I like too much variety in my food, I couldn’t pick something. Actually, I lied, coffee.

Reply

French Fries. I could eat them every single day at every single meal and never tire of them. Sadly, I do not allow myself to eat them very often.

Your Father’s Day dinner menu sounds awesome and reminds me that I need to get on it and plan one for my hubby!!

Reply

4 runs + double digit long run. I haven’t broke ten miles since my last half and I really need to get moving as I’m training for a (potential) full. Eek!

Love skirts + dresses in theory and on others but I just feel like I’m playing dress up when I wear them.

Reply

Fuji apples, no doubt about it :) that maxi skirt is cute! The soft stretchy cotton ones are basically sweatpants with the leg holes stitched together ;) Maybe “it’s its” is code for ice cream?!

Reply

Pasta

as comfy as a skirt or dress can be…the MOMENT I walk through the door at home – the best part of my day begins…sweatpants!

Reply

I could eat goldfish every day and never get sick of them, particularly the pretzel, cupcake, and pizza flavors.

My goal is to run something in the double digits. Did 10 sunday so maybe 12? I don’t know because i just play it by ear these days :-)

I actually love dresses and skirts, the comfy cotton kind. I could wear them every day!

Reply

I could eat oatmeal everyday. In fact, I have eaten it just about everyday for the last ten years and I’ve yet to get sick of it!

SPECIAL K ALMOND VANILLA OMGOMGOMG my fave :)

Popcorn!!! I could eat popcorn every day for the rest of my life.

My kids eat cereal for dinner on occasion…(you know, on those “It’s been a really long day and I don’t feel like cooking evenings), ahem.

Love the dress. And Brooke’s smile. She seems to be a very happy baby!

Running goal: Rock my track workout. I feel like it might be the only time I’m really burning any calories during a run.

I love maxi dresses!

My running goal this week is to leave work early enough to make it to the run club group!

Reply

I love, love, love, love cereal and could eat it 3 meals a day…yes, really :p I love the Special K Low Fat Granola!
Dresses are the coolest in the summertime as long as they don’t squeeze me in any way…hate clingy clothes in the MS humidity.

Reply

Tell me one food (not dessert foods) that you really could eat every day for the rest of your life and not get sick of?

-Avocado -whether it is in the form of guac or sliced up with salt..I could eat it every day on almost anything.

What is one of your running goals for this week?
-None; Fiance is traveling and my anxious dog cannot be left alone so we’ll be doing power walks this week!

Thoughts on skirts and dresses? Like them or not so much?

Like them! Just bought a maxi skirt similar to yours at Kohl’s yesterday and a Maxi dress from Old Navy..LOVE!

Reply

Yogurt!!!

I want to run 3 miles in 28 minutes

Skirts = only for really special occasions, like concerts or banquets
It depends on the dress

Reply

Like skirts despise dresses, unless it’s a maxi type dress. Being 6’o” tall dresses are HARD to find. At least ones that fit properly!
I could eat pasta everyday for the rest of my life. I don’t even need any sauce on it.
Running goal for the week-fit in 2 doubles.

Reply

Mmm. that fathers day dinner looks delicious. And like the sort of thing my husband might request. Especially the Dr. Pepper.

I don’t know why….but I love doing the laundry and only seeing my running clothes…it’s that time of year again here in Canada where we can where these all day if we want. :-)

I love wearing skirts and dresses and would wear them everyday if I could. Billy’s dinner plan looks awesome too :) Running goals for the week – log around 25 miles with one 10 miler in there.

Reply

Tell me one food (not dessert foods) that you really could eat every day for the rest of your life and not get sick of?

– Pizza – loaded with veggies and cheese.

What is one of your running goals for this week?

-To complete my final long run on Saturday before the Chicago Women’s Half Marathon on June 23

Thoughts on skirts and dresses? Like them or not so much?

– I generally like dresses more than skirts. Dresses are easy – you just need to match them with shoes and few cute accessories.

Reply

I agree with cereal. I could eat it every single day and never get sick of it. I have a 5K charity race Saturday that I’m dreading because it’s getting too hot. I do not like wearing dresses or skirts (I don’t think I look good in them) But that dress you are wearing is adorable!

Reply

I could never get sick of yogurt! Love that stuff, especially greek yogurt. :) Running goal for the week is to rock my 9 mile long run! I hope I feel really energized and complete it so that I can be in shape for my halfs coming up! I love wearing skirts in the summer!

Reply

I love the special K cereal…I could literally eat rice and chicken every single day!! Maxi skirts and dresses are huge this summer and great for going out or just a casual day shopping. I am a hairstylist and so I love that I can work in them and be comfortable all day long :)

I could eat anything with avocado non-stop forever.

My running goal this week is to actually run if my doctor release me!

I love skirts and dresses! I wear them almost daily to work. Totally prefer them over dress pants.

1. I think those Special K cereal strawberries are WEIRD.
2. You just helped me fill in this week’s menu. Chicken fajitas it is! :) It’s hard to get some of the fixins’ for Mexican out here, but I think we can pull off fajitas pretty easily!
3. You are already eating AUTUMN salad? It’s only JUNE!!! =)

And now, for your ACTUAL questions:
1. I could probably have chocolate milk every day and not get sick of it. Coffee, too. Or, chocolate milk IN my coffee, also works…
2. Running goal: 18 miles on Saturday. No excuses. Longest distance for me in a LONG time!
3. I actually love comfy dresses. There’s no thought involved, no need to match top to bottom, nothing – just pull it on, and BINGO, an outfit. Plus, these days, plenty of dresses come in comfy, spandexy material…just like my running gear! ;-)

That is my absolute favorite cereal EVER! I buy extra freeze dried strawberries and pour em’ in for extra strawberry fabulous-ness.

I really do eat at least one banana every single day.. for the past year. I have to go back to the store 2-3 times a week :)
My half marathon is on saturday! taper time!
I prefer skirts and dresses to shorts actually. but lulu yoga pants are always best. :)

i could eat eggs and oatmeal everyday (and i usually do :)).

billy’s father’s day dinner menu looks fantastic – i’m going to make something similar for myself this week!
