The creeper from my runs.

Have I told about the creeper I have been dealing with every day when I run in Arizona?

Every morning that I come out of my brother’s house to leave for my run there is this cat just sitting there staring at me.  At first I thought he was a statue because he wouldn’t move.  No one knows who owns the cat but every morning I come out he is just there waiting for me.

This morning I just had 3 easy miles on the schedule so I grabbed my wireless headphones and called my mom to talk to her while I ran.  This works out perfectly because I love talking to my mom and it also helps me to keep my pace ‘easy’ when I really should be doing easy runs (2 speed work sessions in one week is more than I have done probably since before I got pregnant with Brooke ha!).

I also tried my SIL’s elliptical for 12 minutes and it was awesome.  I wonder if my deck at my apartment will be able to hold my treadmill and an elliptical (and while we are at it I would like a rower too).

FMWs with cut up pear.  Try it. May sound weird but tastes real good.

In Arizona our game plan has been to get to the park/pool/splash pad first thing in the morning before it gets too hot.

Today we went to the biggest park I have ever been to and the coolest part is that the big toy is completely covered so the sun is not beating down on you.

She thinks that she is SO cool now that she just stands up all over the place all by herself.

Another one of my SIL’s pregnancy cravings are soft pretzels and so we stopped for one on the way home.  I am really loving being ‘forced’ to go with her to get the delicious foods she is craving.

You better be having an amazing Friday!

Lol, about the cat. Are you a dog or cat lover? neither? You should totally get the rower, I love my concept2.

Reply

I am definitely a dog lover!! Did you buy your concept2 new or used?

Reply

I bought it new with my income tax return :).

Reply

I’m jumping on the dog bandwagon… cats are total creepers! Janae, just have some extra support beams installed underneath your porch… no biggie. Adriana, can you buy me some froyo with that extra tax cashola?!

Reply

Emma when we get together for MCM I will buy you some froyo!

Hahaha, oh my God, I just laughed out loud at that cat picture. He’s so cute! I see a few cats in the neighborhood when I run sometimes, but they’re never consistent like that. Looks like you have an admirer! Maybe he reads HRG?!

That pretzel looks really, really good!!

Yay. You are here.
Freaking love it.
T minus 3 days.

Oooo – I have the BIGGEST pretzel craving for almost my entire pregnancy. Sadly, it was never fulfilled. I need to find a good one to splurge on soon!

Lol to your creeper — and that mini-pony on B is killing me. Happy weekend :)

Reply

Haha to the cat! I tried a soft pretzel once in Germany but I can’t say I’m a huge fan!

Reply

I love Brooke’s little ponytail. My 1-year-old is super jealous because she doesn’t have anywhere near that much hair. Have a great weekend!

Reply

Two things:

1) That cat is CREEPY.
2) Brooke is ADORABLE!

Happy weekend!!

The title of your post made me burst out laughing, haha I’m glad it’s just a cat and not a real creeper. Have a good Friday!! It’s a long weekend here so I’m extra pumped that it’s Friday.

Reply

Pear with cereal…I’ve never tried it, but it actually sounds really good. Brooke’s ponytail is too cute!

Reply

Maybe the kitty wants to go home with you!!!

Cats are just the best! Mine are busy making friends with the squirrels (through the patio door) at our new house.

Where is that pretzel from?! I need it.

Reply

Awe, that cat is too cute!

Reply

Girl this feral cat does it outside my house too! Every morning I leave s/he stands by my car waiting for me.

Reply

WHERE are those pretzels from?! They look so good! Talking on the phone with headphones while running is genius! It’s the perfect solution for when I can’t run with other people. Definitely going to try that- hopefully nobody thinks I’m strange for the breathing noises…

Reply

Maybe the cat’s like a white stag in fairy tales, ready to lead you to adventure!

Or…maybe it just hopes if it stares at you long enough you’ll give it food lol.

*A batch of flourless peanut butter chocolate chip blondies
*A 2-hour baby nap
*Completing mega work in a happy frame of mind
*The hub reading tons and tons for school and enjoying it
*Cooler temps
*Marathon buzz in the Ogden air

Yep, those are the ingredients to an awesome day here!

I love soft pretzels :)

I live in the Phoenix area! You should do a meet up, you are my favorite running blog and I would love to meet you!

Reply

That cat would freak me out. Have you tried poking it with a stick? Nevermind, that might be dangerous.

Your Friday sounds way more exciting than mine, but I did just go rollerblading with my dog, so I can’t complain!

Reply

Brooke’s itty-bitty ponytail is the cutest thing I’ve seen all day!

Reply

She IS so cool! Have a wonderful weekend in AZ! Glad your running is pain free again :-)

Reply

Awww the cat creeper is SO CUTE!! :) We have a few in our neighborhood, too, that just sit there and stare at you. haha too funny.

HAPPY friday!!

Soft pretzels are so delish. I love making them from scratch!

Reply

Man she is ADORABLE!

Reply

That is really funny about the cat! I would love that.

Reply

Just think of the cat as your Arizona Spirit Animal Guide on your runs ;)

I would have never thought to put pear in my cereal, and now I really want to try it.

Reply

I wish I was as cool as Brooke Jacobs. ;)

Reply

Ohh my gawwwwwd her little arm rolls/fold. Shes SO cute Janae!

Reply

Ok…your brothers family probably are in my stake. I live not to far from that awesome park and the cool swimming pool you went to. Its a small world! Brooke is such a doll and it looks like she is loving your vacation!

Reply

Okay I want, no I need that pretzel right now! Ahh!!! I did 3 miles this morning with my running group!

Reply

Oh that cat is sooo cute. Pack it up and take it home with you. Low maintenance for an apartment.

Reply

Please tell Brooke to please stop getting so big!! She is just adorable. Have a great weekend.

Soft pretzels are one of my very favorite foods, so I’m very jealous that you got to have one! I try to be good and not have them too often, but they are so delicious. Have a great weekend! Hope that stalker cat finds something else to watch. :)

Reply

I need to start hanging around with pregnant ladies so that I’ll have more of an excuse to go around eating delicious food… I can’t even remember the last time I had a soft pretzel, which feels kind of like blasphemy. And that cat creeper just looks diabolical. If you change your route and still find him waiting for you… you might need to get a dog to keep you safe ;)

Reply

Haha! You have a kitty friend! :) Have you seen the long distance running cat on youtube??? You should look it up–this guy had a cat that watched him just like that one watching you, and then one day it started running with him!!!! Now he’s her “trainer”! It’s hilarious! :)

Reply

Girrrrl, as a Phoenix resident, this weather right now is downright balmy! 100 degrees ain’t nothin’! In all seriousness, the sun is pretty brutal already.

Reply

I need to get a pregnant friend so I have an excuse to get all her cravings with her. That pretzel looks incredible.

Reply

Aww I love kitties! I have some that I visit while I’m on a cooldown run, haha. I looove soft pretzels!

Reply

That cat looks like a bobcat…so scary. I was at a new friend’s house last night and he has a cat and when I first saw it I thought it was a raccoon. It was huge and gross..and it gave me major hives :( Is that garlic salt on that soft pretzel? If so, I need one in my life.

Reply

Love that cat!! Please send it my way! Remember…I’ll send you my huge lab! ;)

Reply

Arizonians sure know how to make a park! :)

Reply

There for a while, I ate an Auntie Anne’s Sour Cream & Onion Pretzel after school. Soo good!

Reply

We have a cat that waits at our house in the afternoon to see the boys. He sits on their slide and rubs up against their legs when they head out to play.

Reply

Yum! Can I have a bite of that soft pretzel?! Those are one of my weaknesses with cheese sauce for dipping!

Reply

OMG when I first read your opening sentence I thought it said, “Every morning that I come out of my brother’s house to leave for my run there is this CAR just sitting there staring at me.” HAHA i got so scared!! ;)

Reply

Confession: I don’t think I’ve ever had a soft pretzel.

Reply

We need to change that.

Reply

These are such great receipes to make with cdhliren of any age. I love the varity and different things you can do with marshmellows.. Hey try adding dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. It offsets the sweetness and the bitterness of the chocolate for a very nice tasting combination..

Reply

Um, I’m about to out myself as the biggest Harry Potter nerd ever but the picture reminds me of Professor McGonagall in HP #1.
I adore Brooke!

Reply

Can you send me one of those pretzels??? :-)

I love Brooke’s little ponytail!

Reply

Brooke is so stinkin’ cute! I can’t get over it!! :)
I think I will have to try FMW with pear! For some reason, when I saw that picture, I really wanted a peach.
Mmmmm peaches!!!!!

Reply

Hahaha I thought that the “creeper” was going to be a creepy guy. The cat is much less scary! ;)

Reply

I need to get one of those pretzels! I am hoping to make it to the FroYo meetup tomorrow night. Hope you’re enjoying AZ!!

Reply

Soft Pretzel’s are always my favourite treat when we go to Disney!
