4 things I must show you.

How I spent May 9th from the hours of 4 pm – 9 pm (there were also a few rounds of Candy Land too).  My sis and her husband just got an arcade sized air hockey table.  It is incredible and I am taking the measurements of the table to see if it will fit in our 700 square foot apartment.  We could just use it as our bed frame and put the mattress on top when we want to sleep.

I sent my sis and her husband to go on a date and so it was me and 4 kids.

Because I obviously had it all together I whipped up an incredibly fancy dinner of chicken nuggets.  At least we had cucumbers and oranges with it.

Brooke is always wanting to show off her thighs.

I win the contest of the coolest nieces and nephews.

4 things from the internet that I really must show you:

1.  Now that Brooke is almost 9 months old I have started planning her first birthday party because it will be a huge event.

The birthday cake that I have decided on.  Cake and piñatas are two of my favorite things and the combination is almost too much.

Piñata cake. SOURCE

2.  Dancing routine on the treadmill.  I can’t say I have never tried this but he is way better than I am at it.  Video from HERE.

3.  I am making life easy for Billy this Mother’s Day.  All I am asking for is a lifetime supply of my beloved PureFlows 2 so that I will never have to worry about running out and so that when I am 90 and running around I will still have my pink best friends with me.

4.  My coach sent me an article yesterday called How Do I Run a Faster 5K.

I am scared for my life.  I don’t know how to run 5ks.  This is going to hurt.

————————————————–

Billy has a final today… feel free to wish him good luck.  The test is only 3 hours and 35 minutes long.  No big deal.

————————————————–

How many 5ks have you ran?  How do you feel about the 5k?

What are you getting your mom or doing for your mom for Mother’s Day?

-I would tell you but my mom reads the blog every morning.

What kind of running shoes would you like a lifetime supply of?

I sent my mom flowers and signed the card from my little brother and I. Both he and my mom will be shocked he sent a gift : )

I would take a lifetime supply of a healthy knee, then I’d go for the shoes… I am a sucker for Mizunos and Nikes.

I can’t say I love 5Ks, but I’m definitely getting better at them! I’ve run 5 so far in 2013. It’s hard because you basically have to give it your all for those 3.1 miles, but at least it’s not too long so the torture is over soon haha.

I want chicken nuggets! And a pinata cake!

Reply

I’ve done so many 5Ks I’ve lost count. If I ever break 20 min, I will retire from them forever. All out effort for 3 miles? Brutal! Definitely going to check out link from your coach. Maybe it holds the secret to my retirement plan!

Lifetime of Newtons!!! Post all your first bday idea pics because I’m planning too!!

Reply

Brooke rocks those thighs :-) GOOD LUCK BILLY! I agree with you on pureflows. I have run about a million 5ks in my life. They get a lot less scary as you do more.. But they can be painful. You got this!!!

Reply

Thank you thank you thank you for reminding me how gosh darn fun air hockey is! I used to play all of the time when I was little!

I’m crying a little bit right now because that cake is just so beautiful!

Now that I am able to run again I really want to start focusing on 5Ks, something I never thought I would say!

Reply

I have run like fifty million 5k’s haha! Only because they are so abundant (and considerably cheaper!) around these parts ;) Plus, I usually have my SIL to run with and I can’t seem to get her to run any other distance other than a 10k with me! I love me some Brooks, but I have a think for Mizuno’s too! Between the two, I don’t think that I could decide!

Reply

The last 5k I ran was on St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin – it was really fun :). I actually like the 5k… it’s fast and painful but over quick so really it’s not so bad :). This Mother’s Day I’m not really doing much other than sending my mum an email since I’m so far away and can’t be there.

Reply

oh my gosh, I’d fall on my face if I tried to dance on the treadmill!!! Haha he was talented!

Reply

GOOD LUCK BILLY!!
Proud to say that the dancing treadmill man is from Jacksonville, Florida- my hometown…we are proud- haha! :)
Mizunos would be my shoes of choice. Love ’em so much.
Ahhh! Can’t wait to hear what you pick out for Brooke’s 1st birthday party. Is it bad that I’m already planning G’s too?? I think I’m way more excited than she is- lol!

Reply

I have seen that cake in the pinterest world and I’m dying for someone to actually make it so I can see if it actually works for the average person. I guess I’m leaving that job to you! I’m expecting a full report. I remember the days of air hockey in my basement. My friends are still obsessed when they come over. I’d say you win the coolest babysitter award hands down.

Reply

The last 5k I ran, I ran from my house to the start (2.5 miles) then ran the race and then ran home! I’m not speedy and 5ks intimidate me and it takes me 3.1 miles to warm up. Haha!

Reply

Oh you’ll probably never have to buy another pair of running shoes in your entire life. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone sent you an air hockey table after reading this post. ;)

Reply

Hahahaha that would be awesome!

Reply

I have ran a lot of 5ks. I like that distance actually. I’ve ran at least 30 of them including xc in college. I’m getting my mom a spa package and we make brunch for our moms at our house :)

Reply

Is it bad that I am at a loss for Mothers Day still? My mom has helped us out so much lately, that any present I can think of, just isn’t good/big enough.

I have done one official 5k but looking to do a second in July. I have liked to do a regular 5k training tempo run routinely to gage where I am. (But that was more last summer/fall)

Reply

Good luck with your final today, Billy! Hopefully you won’t need the entire time allotted to finish it. Your nieces and nephew seem pretty darn awesome (and cute!) from all of the photos. It was really nice of you to watch them so your sis and her hubby could go on a date. If I could have a lifetime supply of shoes, it would be the Brooks Ghost 5s. I’m stocking up on a few pairs before the Ghost 6s come out in June! I wouldn’t mind another pair of PureFlow 2s, either… :)

Reply

Four kids! I would die!

I am running a 5k on Sunday! It will be my second one and is a fundraiser for breast cancer- a lovely Mothers Day activity!

Reply

It’s become my new goal in life to learn how to dance on the treadmill. That would definitely take away some of the boredom factor. Or I could just nix all treadmill workouts and play air hockey instead :D That’s always been one of my favorite arcade games, and I can remember me and my friends getting super in to it. Good luck to Billy today!

GOOD LUCK BILLY!!!!!!!!!!

My niece made that cake for her son’s birthday last month. It was really cute. Quick tip….freeze the cake before cutting it to add the candy. She didn’t freeze the first one and had to make another one. It was super yummy with m & m’s inside! :)

Reply

I’ve run several 5k’s (most recently last saturday) and they scare me!!! I can’t seem to break 30 minutes. I think I am more of a 10k/ half kinda girl. My first 10 k is in 2 weeks!!!! And my first half is in September.

I am frantically searching the internet for any size 7 Brooks Pure Cadence. I have one pair of pink as backup, but need to find at least 2 more pairs!!! I don’t like the Cadence 2.

Brooke is the cutest with her bow :)

Reply

That pinata cake is amazing! You should totally make it.

I got my mom some tea and chocolate and a card. Sadly, I won’t actually be home for Mother’s Day.

I would love a lifetime supply of Brooks Adrenalines.

Reply

I love that pinata cake!! SO awesome. My siblings and I got my mother bike racing gear because she just got a new bike. Hope she likes them!

Reply

That cake looks delicious :) I have no doubt Brooke’s party will be a huge deal! I just bought the PureFlow 2 after using Pure Flow 1, and have fallen even more in love. I would take a lifetime supply of those! The pretty pink color makes me love them even more!

Reply

I run 5k’s. By the time it starts hurting .. it’s over!
I’m actually starting to run longer distances in hopes of running a half at some point in my life. I was going to do a local one a couple weeks ago, but suffered from a pulled hip flexor – my first ever real injury :(
Anywho, I’m almost fully recovered and am running 5-6 miles at a time.
Why do you not like 5k’s?
<3 :
1. Brooke's thighs
2. Your nieces & nephews
3. The game table
4. The cake
5. YOUR BLOG!!

ps – Good luck Bill(y) – I'm sure you are going to rock that exam!

Reply

I am getting my mom a pandora charm for her bracelet that my sisters and I bought her for Christmas a couple years ago. I also LOVE the PureFlows, but prefer the older purple ones. They’re the most perfect purple I have ever seen! I bet Brooke has been working hard to pick out your first mother’s day gift ;)

Reply

That cake: Made. My. Day. Also, I’d take a lifetime supply of those sneaks, too…they’re my fave!

Reply

I’m getting ready to run a lot of 5k’s this summer, but I like longer distances. Most 5k’s are for great causes though!

Reply

That treadmill dancing thing is so funny!

I’m more of a distance runner, so 5Ks aren’t really my thing. I always feel like I have to sprint, and then I feel like I’m going to pass out near the end :-)

I got my mom flowers – she loves them, so I get them every year for Mother’s Day.

Reply

That pinata cake is adorable and it’s such a good idea! Combining the best of two worlds. :)

I’m not a huge fan of 5k’s. I’d much rather do 10k’s. I think it just offers less pressure in terms of speed for me; I know I can somewhat relax for longer distances because I have to save my energy.

Reply

I placed in my AG in the last 5k that I did, but it was a beer run and I was probably the only one who didn’t drink beer. Carbonation & running don’t work for me. I’ll take my 2nd place though. Ha!

I’m a Newton lover!!! They took several runs for me to get used to, but now they are my favorite running shoe fo’ life.

In other news, I mentioned your blog on my blog! Not in a weird creeper way, more like a “hey check out this cool blog” kind of way. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

Reply

Billy’s exam time is the Boston Marathon Qualifying time for 35&Under women. Nice. That has to be some kind of omen, right?

Reply

Haha I thought the exact same thing when he told me!

Reply

I’m getting my mom some new gym gear…water bottles, headphones, bag, etc. I run 5ks but for fun, they are too fast to truly race for me!

Reply

Good luck on your exam Billy!

Reply

I ran a few 5km’s when I started running 4-5 years ago but not since – this summer that will change I have registered for two! They are both with non-runner friends and fun races so I cannot wait.
I bought my Mom a Coach wallet, and we are going for brunch Sunday :)
Nike Frees!

Reply

i’m running a 5k tonight! it’s a chick chaser where the women get a 3min head start. I know my fiancee is going to catch me, but I’m going to run my hardest to hold him off for as long as I can. The 5k is tough, but I love how satisfying 3.1 miles can be.

Reply

I love 5ks! I love running fast and trying to beat my time (I’m obsessed with numbers and paces) I think 5ks really improve your stamina for longer races. I would love a lifetime supply of Brooks Adrenaline! That looks like a fun evening with the kiddos!

Reply

1) I have no idea how many 5k’s I’ve run in my life as official races, too many to count – only 1 official race 5k this year though. I really prefer 8k’s or 10k’s but I do like the occasional 5k.

What are you getting your mom or doing for your mom for Mother’s Day? The family is going to the White Sox game (it’s now a tradition)! I dedicated a post to her but I don’t think that’s enough – I’ll order her some flowers too!

What kind of running shoes would you like a lifetime supply of? Vibram Five Finger shoes, I’m addicted. I really want to be their spokesperson – I should start bugging them to give me the job!

Reply

My mom is coming to my house for the weekend and we’re going to do a little hiking!

Reply

I have never run a 5k. The shortest race distance I have done is a 10k and I really liked it. I was able to run hard for 6 miles and enjoyed the race and it was over in no time :).

I am still working on the mother’s day present…I’m thinking I will get her a new Pandora charm though.

I have the same pair of Brooks that you do…love them!

Reply

That’s a tough one…I love my Brooks but I also am digging my Kinvaras and Nike Frees! A lifetime is a long commitment to one shoe ;)

I’m not a huge 5k fan – I do better with the 10k / half marathon distance :)

Reply

Love running 5k’s, but I wish I could cut off 2 minutes on my time. Over the last year I have dropped my 5k PR from 27 minutes to 24 minutes, but I would love to get down to the 22’s. They do suck but they are super fun once they’re over. Kinda like marathons!

Reply

I love 5Ks! I’ve never run a race farther than a 10K so I don’t know much about those marathons and half marathons, but as a former cross-country runner I can tell you there is something magical about a 5K.

Reply

My mom’s a teacher, and I sent her a lovely arrangement of tulips to her at school!

I would want a lifetime supply of Mizuno Wave Inspire’s. LOVE those shoes.

Reply

I hate 5ks! They hurt, I am not a sprinter and this makes me feel like I have to run the fastest I can the entire time. I would want Asics for the rest of my life!

Reply

Ive ran so many 5ks I lost count. My first half is next weekend do I’m really not sure how different it will be! I’m used to doing the fast pace!

Reply

Years ago I would do 5ks all the time but now they scare me to death! I got my mom a bunch of girly chick flick dvds to watch when she is travelling. I haven’t found that sneaker yet that I would love to have a lifetime supply of… but then again I haven’t tried anything from the Pure Project so maybe that is my problem :) Also that cake looks absolutely amazing and I need to reintroduce chicken nuggets into my life.

Reply

A 3 1/2 hour final?? Poor Billy!! Good luck to him!!

I bought my mom a rose plant… should be delivered to her office today (which always makes her extra happy).

Reply

Brooks PureFlows and PureGrit2s!!!! All the way.

My mom is actually going to be in town visiting us for Mother’s Day which is a huge treat for everyone! She wanted new running shoes, so we got her those and the bookstore where I work (National Geographic) is having a huge sale for staff today, so I am going to go grab her a running pullover with the logo on it. Then we’re going to go on a family run – maybe race in her first 10k!!

Reply

My mom’s mother’s day present is me. I’m flying home tonight and she doesn’t know I’m coming home or that we’re running a 10K together

Reply

OMG – I saw that cake on pinterest and was going to send it to you today! No joke…how perfect:)!

Reply

I’ll take a lifetime supply of Keen sandals to run in. They work wonders for me, but Tevas are best on less technical trails.

Reply

Good luck Billy!

Reply

I just read that article the other day! I thought it was pretty good!

My mom asked for dinner alone with her, my dad, my boyfriend, and me. I have lots of nieces and when we’re all together things get crazy so she wants a double date with us :)

Reply

I’m embarrassed to admit this, but I always dance on the treadmill. I cannot help it. The music just takes over. I’ve also fallen off quite a few times because of it though…

I loved the comment about Brooke showing off her thighs. They are pretty cute! :)

Reply

I ran two 5Ks and one 4M so far… I’m not a speedy and I’d rather run longer but slower. From now on, I decided I’m gonna run 5Ks only if it is for a good cause (fund raising and such)!

My mom is in Italy so I sent her flowers- that’s the easiest (and safest) thing you can send!

Best of luck Billy!

PS: Brooke’s thighs are the cutest thing ever!

Reply

Good luck to Billy! I had a 4 hour test yesterday and passed, he can do it!! Omg, that guy is too cool! I wish I was coordinated enough to dance and run at the same time, that would defiantly pass the time! I think I’m getting my mom a starbucks gift card….she kinda loves that place more than me, jk. Mizunos!!!!

Reply

Look at you with 4 kids like a friggin pro. The kids loved it, I am sure, and so did your sis and her hubby – such a good gift! ;)

My mom only accepts cash and gift cards to Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, or Rod Works for presents. No joke. Makes giving her gifts easy, but also VERY lame.

I have ran a probably just over 10 5k’s. Ross tells me I don’t know how to push myself hard in races because when I finish I still look happy and say I had fun. Apparently I am supposed to feel like death. But then where is the fun in that? However, I would love for my 21:xx time to one day start with a 19:xx but that is a heckofa chuck to take off my time. Teach me your speedy ways, oh master.

I still have yet to find a running shoe that I am madly in love with. I have tried soooo many. There are definitely some I like more than others, but none that I want to marry.

Good luck Billy! I am sure he is used to long tests by now. I remember when Ross took the Professional Engineering test – it was 8 hrs. It makes my brain hurt just thinking about it.

Reply

I ran one 5k and it wasn’t my favorite. I have no idea how to pace myself and I felt terrible for most of the race (apparently running hard does that to you). I’m giving them another chance….I signed up for one later this month. Thanks for the article!

Reply

I’m actually running a 5k in San Jose this weekend! I haven’t run one in two years so I hear your fear on running one! It seems so short! But I’ve been training for it by doing some hills and speed work on those hills to help when I get to run flat and feel stronger!

I sent Mom a card, but I’m going to see her in a few weeks and have something planned to do with her then for Mother’s day.

Reply

Ahhhhhhhhh you are supposed to come to San Jose when I am there!!! Good luck!

Reply

Oh my goodness, I must have those Mickey chicken nuggets for my daughter! She is nuts about Mickey! Where did you (your sister?) buy them??

Mother’s day gifts 1. All the kids/grandkids are going to church with her (this was actually her only request for mother’s day). We all live out of town, so going back to the church we grew up in is special.
2. The kids and I planted her and my MIL a potted herb garden.

5ks…. I like them bc they are over so fast compared to a half ( my fav distance). Plus registration is usually way cheaper!!

Shoes.. Brooks glycerine! I heart them :)

Good luck to Billy!

Reply

They are from Costco!

Reply

I have probably ran 15-20 5k’s. I love them. but ever since I started running 1/2 marathons, that is now my favorite distance.

Reply

My 5k pace is the same as my half marathon pace. That is a problem.

My mom and I are going to church, going on a run, going to a garden center where I buy her some flowers for her beds. It is a mom’s day tradition.

Reply

You are a pro had setting Brooke up for photos! It totally cracks me up!

Reply

Good luck to Billy! Nothing like walking out of your last final and realizing that you don’t have to study when you go home. I seriously think it’s the best feeling ever.

Reply

EEP! Good luck to Billy! My boyfriend just took a final yesterday that was like 3.5 hours long, and apparently that was still not enough time o__O (but don’t worry. You will feel like law school just flew by… though I can’t say the same for Billy! My bf is already graduating from Santa Clara Law in two weeks, and I feel like he just started it like last year, hahaha).
And I need to learn how to run 5K’s. I’ve only raced one and I’m pretty sure my half marathon pace was somehow faster than the 5K pace :P

Reply

I have done a bunch of 5k’s. They are not my favorite. I’ve actually got one next weekend come to think of it, but it’s no-pressure because I will be run/walking it with my mom. It’s her first in like 25+ years, probably more. :)

I ordered my mom some fancy gourmet cupcakes and we are going on a bike ride along the Delaware Canal on mother’s day.

I wish I could answer the last question but I have yet to find my “solemate” shoe. I am checking out the PureFlows this weekend though so it might just be love!

Reply

First of all, I hope the exam went well. I celebrated my one year anniversary of my last law school exam this week and it has been pretty wonderful! You’d thinka 3-4 hour exam would almost rise to the level of cruel and unusual, but the time actually passes quite quickly….too quickly sometimes.

I used to live for 5Ks before I started running marathons. However, I think I’ve run exactly one 5K race since my first marathon. I’ve been wanting to run another, but I’m kind of worried that I’ve forgotten how to run fast.

I my sole soul mate used to be the Asics Gel Nimbus, but lately I’ve become obsessed with the Nike Lunarglide 4. I’m on my second pair and I highly recommend them!

Reply

Brooke’s little thigh rolls are to die for!!
I would love to try brooks running shoes. I have Mizunos at the moment and I like them but I feel like I could find something that would suit my feet a bit better. Brooks look like they might be wider across the toe box – is that right?

I ran one 5k and it was my first race ever and it was an absolute ball but definitely a bit nerve wracking knowing that people run it so fast!

Reply

OMG pinata cake?! That’s a new one! And those Costco chicken nuggest are seriously SO GOOD. It was very surprising! GOOD LUCK BILLY!!!

xo

Reply

I too would love a lifetime supply of the Pure Flow 2s! During my last 10K I kept saying I wanted to kiss them! They just feel so good. I just got a pair of the originals the other day and while I love them so far, I don’ t want to kiss them like i do the 2s.

Reply

My goal for 2013 before my hip flexor doomed me was to break 20 minutes in the 5K. Oh, the pain.

On a happier note, I love that dancing treadmill man video; that man has skills and far more coordination than I’ll ever have.

Reply

I haven’t run any 5k races and the 5k distance is actually my least favorite training distance because I love the feelings that come with long distances. I’m trying to run a speedy 5k this September because the medal is really sweet and I really want to win one! I tried to read that article but it didn’t make too much sense to me…so I’m going to have to re-read it so I can apply it to my training!

For Mother’s Day, I sent my mom Puppy Chow, a novel, and a Christmas ornament (she collects them) since I won’t be there. It breaks my heart I won’t be there, but I’m glad I got to mail her a little something!

Reply

Ok, how did that guy in the purple NOT turn to watch the dancing guy???

For mother’s day, I am treating my mom to lunch when we’re in Japan later this month!

Reply

Hey Brooke and i have the same thighs!

i have a fondness for 5ks because that distance was the first race i did before moving onto 10ks and halfs. i havent run one in a long time but i think theyre a great training tool.

I share your passion for Brooks Pureflows! I love my Mizunos but nothing like my Pureflows!

Reply

Wow –that dude’s fancy foot work is quiiitttee incredible!

ARE WE DOING FRO YO tomorrow?!?! Let me know :) xo

Reply

Yes at one!!! Yogurtland in Provo! Can’t wait to see you!

Reply

I just bought the PureConnect2 brooks yesterday and love them! Have you tried that make??? I don’t think I tried the pureflow on!

Reply

I’ve never run a 5k (or any race for that matter) before, but I’d love to try someday. For mother’s day, I’m having my mom and family over to my apartment for cake and food and a Just Dance marathon!

Reply

I love the PureFlows!! However I would need to buy an life long supply of my beloved WaveRiders! I love the 5k distance. I just ran a 1/2 and a full, and I am getting tired of long runs, so I have decided to improve my 5k PR! I can’t wait for the speed! Thank you for the article! I have ran about 7 or 8 5k’s those use to be my go to race before I got into distance! Going shopping tonight for my mom!

Reply

GOOD LUCK BILLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG – that cake is to die for!!!

Reply

I’m all backwards and whatnot and I’m running my very first 5K this weekend! I skipped over 5Ks when I started racing and jumped right to a 7.5K and then ran two half marathons. But I run the mile/1500/800 in track… so, like I said, I’m all over the place!

Reply

GOOD LUCK BILLY!!

Reply

Oh my goodness! I thought my finals were bad, but Billy’s sounds terrible! Good Luck! :) AND since I’m just starting out running (again) I haven’t worked my way back up to the 5k! Have you ever run a 5k Janae? I’ve been reading forever and I don’t think you’ve ever mentioned one!

Reply

Good luck Billy on your 3+hour long exam! I don’t know how you people do that! I am not usually a huge cake person but seeing that cake, makes me want that cake!

Reply

5k’s terrify me…I have one tomorrow. I would rather be running a marathon, untrained. It’s pain for 3.1 miles straight. Thanks for sharing the article, perfect timing! I probably only run them once or twice a year.
You know I share your love for the pure flows, and I am SOOOO happy the 2’s are now working for me. If you haven’t tried the connects yet – you should. They are amazing. I wish I could wear them on every run. Have a great weekend!

Reply

Good luck tomorrow! You are going to crush that 5k and I can’t wait to hear all about it!!!! So happy the 2s are working for you now!

Reply

I have ran five 5k’s and I really enjoy them for me they are a lot less stressful because I know for a fact I can do the distance, it is just about how far I can push myself speedwise that day. Plus they are fun because they don’t take all day and support some really awesome causes.
I don’t know what shoe I would take a lifetime supply of because I have yet to find “the one” shoe. I have tried about six different shoes and none of them have made my feet super happy. My super clearance adidas shoes I used to buy in high school felt better than any “real” running shoe I have tried so far. Ugh. I’m gonna have to go to a different running store and see what they have…..

Reply

Hope Billy did well on his test! Your neice and nephews are adorable!!

I have ran probably 10 5Ks. I love them to gain speed for longer races.
Mothers Day: We are going over my sisters and having a gathering. Not sure what we are making yet.. Trying to decide. We are getting her a certificate for the salon! Oh yeah. What Mom does not like getting pampered!
I would like a life time supply of Brooks Pure Cadence 2. I really really love them! I just bought the Pure Flows last week but havent ran in them yet. Maybe they will be my next favs.

Reply

My friend made that cake for a cinco de mayo party. It was really cute. Tasted just like the candy inside so you will probably love it haha.

Reply

I just fell in love with those shoes.

Reply

I’m all for 5ks. I’ve run only 4, but I’d rather spend that money on longer races, like halfs.

I got my mom a FoodSaver.

I love Brooks PureGritII and Mike

I think you have an awesome family. When you come here, you two can hang with V and I will go on a “me” date..just me to do what I want. ;)

Reply

I’ve never, ever heard of Pinata cake! BUT OH MY GOSH THAT’S AWESOME.

Reply

I am running a 5K tomorrow morning. I don’t really like that distance, and usually run a three-mile warm-up before the race starts. I am running this one because it’s near and dear to my heart… TKO Melanoma 5K.

So this is so funny! My son’s girlfriend posted a link to the pinata cake on her fb today. I saw it and decided to make it for her graduation, and told you about it in my “random comment” on your other post today. I now realize where she saw the cake first! :-)

Reply

I love/hate 5ks. It is all out but you recover faster. I have a feeling you will love them also. For the first time ever I have IT band issues:( next race a 10k June 9 hope I am better by then.

Reply

Love/hate 5K’s….I think they are a necessary evil. Having a 5K on my schedule keeps me pushing for speed, which only helps my long runs…..gotta have them, I think.

Reply

I’m always amused by experienced runners who are FAST being scared of a 5k. You’ll be great :o)

Reply

I love my Saucony running shoes. I have terribly flat feet so I basically wear geriatric shoes. They are supa sexy.

I have only ran one 5k. In high school. I got third place in my age group for running it is 30 minutes. How sad is that? hahaha
