Crepes, intense conversations and watching a workout DVD from the couch.

Brooke and I had a very exciting computer/call/web video thing with some of the product line managers for BROOKS shoes and women’s apparel.   She was really into learning about the new products coming out and hearing the answers to any of our questions.  I could have done this all day it was so fun.

And then I had my daily delicious juice and she continued to play with her favorite toy known as my lip gloss.  I passed on the genes to her of being obsessed with having lip gloss with you at all times in case of an emergency like having dry lips.

DSC 0444

Next thing on our agenda:  watching Bangs Friend do Jillian Michaels.  I told her earlier that I would do it with her but then she came over and I realized that pool running earlier on in the day sucked out every ounce of energy that I had so instead my little partner in crime and I hung out on the couch.

Dinner was one of my all-time favorites, crepes.  What is better than delicious food rolled up in carbs?  We had cheese, potatoes, bacon, mushrooms and spinach inside.

The recipe we use for crepes.  I wish I remember where I got it from….

And then this happened…. crepes filled with mini milk chocolate peanut butter cups.

Bangs and I had a very intense conversation about what we are going to have for Easter dinner.   Holiday meals are extremely important to me.

Our Easter Dinner Menu so far:

Lamb, rolls, potatoes, salad, green beans, macaroni and cheese (random but I think it is a great idea) deviled eggs and carrot cake.

This is my first Easter ever away from my family.  I hope Billy remembers that and has already started putting together my Easter basket.

This is my first Easter solo too!! I told my BF we had to do baskets. I am a mac computer gal all the way, stuck on a Dell at work though. I haven’t dabbled in crepes enough to have a preference, carrot cake all the way, planks, and chapstick (any but the cherry, bleh).

Reply

Macaroni and cheese for easter?! I need to come to your house for easter dinner! It will be a party! I’m a mac girl. I grew up using dell because that’s what my family uses but I’m a total convert. Oh, and crepes- I think I’d like them better plain with cinnamon and sugar or something.

Reply

So many dichotomous questions haha! For me: lip gloss, planks, chocolate cake, sweet crepe, and PC (although I want a Mac). Those JM dvd’s are hard!

Reply

I have a pool running question for you!! If you’re essentially staying still in the water, how do you keep track of your pace??! (That may be a silly question, but pool running fascinates me!)

Reply

Mac! Never had a crepe… but I will now :-) CHOCOLATE CAKE! Plank. Depends how dry my lips are. Have a great Tuesday!

Reply

Those Jillian Michaels DVDs are intense! I like carrot cake with thick cream cheese frosting…but I’ve never met a chocolate cake I didn’t like :)

Reply

Looking forward to seeing Brooks’ new lineup!
Dessert crepes are my absolute favourite dessert- nutella with bananas and/or strawberries is amazing!
I love planks, but they seem to really bother my knee. So sit ups it is!

Reply

I am a Chapstick junkie. I wear lipgloss sometimes but Chapstick always. I want to try out those crepes for dinner. Looks great!

Reply

We always have Mac and cheese at Easter and I love it. I am a weirdo and like planks and sit ups. And I’m the one person in the world that has a Mac but kinda wishes I had a pc….it’s taking me a long time to get used to it! And chocolate cake beats all cake….except red velvet.

Reply

I love chapstick, I almost feel naked without it. I need to try crepes, yours look awesome! I love both chocolate cake and carrot cake so I don’t think I can choose?? Mac & cheese is always a great idea!

Reply

Absolutely Mac. Sweet crepe, ideally with fruit. Carrot cake with an abundance of cream cheese frosting. Planks because they don’t bother my back. And the most important question… I always have chapstick with me. I am without a doubt addicted. If I can find a lip gloss that isn’t too sticky, where I feel like I’m eating my hair all day, then I would totally prefer lip gloss.

Reply

I have never had a crepe! That may need to change stat! I would love a Mac, but I have a PC. How about a chocolate chip cake? I decorate cakes as part of our adoption fundraiser. I have over 10 orders for Easter and the most popular request is my choc chip cake!

Reply

I’ve never had a crepe, and I’m still debating which flavor of cake for my birthday tomorrow.

Planks are best especially with a cute baby partner, and if you sing to the baby while planking it counts double!

Reply

I never made crepes, but I would definitely choose sweet. I need to try your recipe!

Reply

PC, carrot cake, savory crepes, lip gloss and sit-ups. Planks and I have never seen eye to eye. Although I can handle a plank more so than a burpee. I SIMPLY CANNOT DO THEM!!!

Reply

PC, Sweet, Carrot, Planks & Chapstick. I cannot go without my Chapstick. Planks with your feet in TRX is a lot of fun. Carrot just because I don’t like Chocolate cake. Sweet because I love sugar. I have never had anything but a PC.

Reply

Mac at home, PC at work. Sweet AND savory. Chocolate cake usually unless it’s the carrot cake from my favorite bakery here. Planks! And Vaseline for running/sleeping and lip gloss at all other times. :)

Reply

Just popped in to say that in the south, macaroni and cheese is considered a vegetable, so it is not strange at all that it is on your menu. I am really not joking. It makes an appearance at most holiday meals, Sunday lunches, and most other get-togethers.

Savory crepes, carrot cake (yum), planks, and chapstick FTW.

Reply

PC!
Sweet crepe for sure, but I did have savory ones in Paris that were yummy.
Carrot Cake.
Planks, one of my favorite exercise moves!
Lip gloss, I am addicted too!

Reply

I’m sure the people at Brooks loved chatting with Brooke! I use a Mac and I loved it! Although using excel is much easier on a pc

Reply

Mac, once you go Mac, you never go back!
No crepes for me!
Planks and sit-ups!
Chapstick, TJ’s has the best!

Reply

I love crepes! Your picture of them looks soooo good. We have an awesome crepe restaurant in our area and they serve the BEST FRIES EVER – pommes frites! :)

Reply

I like lip gloss and chapstick! I always have both in my purse and usually just use the one that I pull out first! :)

As for the cake question, I’m going with carrot (no raisins in mine – the texture freaks me out!).

Reply

Mac all the way!!!

Sweet crepes!

I {heart} carrot cake- especially if it has cream cheese icing. Seriously.

Call me old school, but I like sit-ups!

I am a chapstick addict- although, my preferred brand is blistex. I can’t go anywhere without it!

Reply

My step dad made crepes all the time for us growing up. We JAM PACKED those things with fruit and apple butter. Yum! :)

Reply

Overall: Carrot Cake, but this month Chocolate Cake. Our grocery store does single pieces of cake, and I think a piece of chocolate cake has fallen into my basket every time I have been there this month.

Lip gloss. Wearing Vicki Secrets Cherry Bomb as I type! Love, love, love it.

I have never had a crepe before. I don’t really get it–is it a thin pancake? a tortilla? I guess I would choose sweet because someone above mentioned nutella and now that’s all I can think about! ;)

Reply

I actually have both. I use a PC at work and at home for my other job. My personal computer is a Mac. They both have their good points and bad points. But sometimes, I just like to delete something easily instead of always dragging it to the trash can.

Sweet or Savory Crepe?
Wait…I have to pick one? Seriously? Who does that? There’s a great food truck in Austin, TX, called Crepe Happy. I usually get a Savory Crepe and then they have these nutella and banana crepes (small, thin, cheap, etc.) that I get for an afterwards.

Carrot Cake or Chocolate Cake?
Again…why do I have to pick? What about chocolate carrot cake? IS that even possible? It should be…but if I have to honestly pick, then I guess carrot cake.

Planks or Sit-Ups?
I hate them both equally, but they are the best ever. However, I choose situps almost every time over the planks, because quite frankly, it’s easier.

Lip Gloss or Chapstick?
I’m a chapstick obssessed girl. My niece is the same way, too. It’s so weird. I’m putting some on now….oh that’s nice.

Reply

I don’t think I’ve ever actually had a savory crepe before! They sound delicious, but I’ve just always gone for the sugary ones. Crepes are one of those foods that’s always intimidated me to make, but this recipe you shared sounds too easy not to make them!

Reply

I also think mac and cheese is a great idea! You must go with chocolate cake, and I definitely pick planks :)

Reply

I have a pc but a mac is on my want list.
I have a super sweet tooth. Sweet crepes for me!
Carrot cake AND Chocolate cake. Making us choose is just plain mean.
I like sit ups mostly because they are easier and I’m a baby
Chap stick for me.
P.S. I can not wait to see Brookes Easter dress! You must have a home photoshoot.

Reply

Oh man – I really need to get it together and figure out Easter dinner – since we aren’t hosting I’ll hopefully only need to be in charge of one thing. Those savory crepes look great – I’ve never had one but can guess that is what I would prefer!

Reply

I use a PC at work and a Mac at home…I can’t decide which I like better. Each has good and annoying features.
Sweet crepes! Never had a savory crepe.
Cake! Any cake! If it is carrot, just no raisins. They look like little bugs in there.
Planks > situps
chapstick …my hair is too crazy and sticks to my lips with lipgloss.

Reply

Thanks for the crepe recipe!!! I loveee crepes with apple pie filling but I’ve never made them at home! We use to make them in high school french class ;) They are soo good though! I hope he puts some yummy things in your easter basket! :)

Reply

She’s the cutest baby!!! I’d say I’ll go go savory crepes. :) — love your recipe btw, I will have to try it! :) I like planks more than push ups. :) Chapsticks when I do workouts and oh, mascara, yup i wear mascara to workouts LOL! :) , lipgloss on regular days! :)

Reply

PC, sweet, chocolate, planks, Chapstick!

Your Easter dinner sounds delicious! I need to work on my menu.

Jillian Michael’s is no joke. Even though those workouts aren’t long, they are intense!

Reply

PC.

Carrot Cake or Chocolate Cake? Chocolate! Carrot cake is not cake. It’s just another way to get some veggies in. And I will eat it, but it will not count as my dessert.

Planks!

Lip Gloss or Chapstick? I like lip gloss as long as it’s not sticky. Right now I love Aquafina Lip Balm.

Reply

Sweet! I am sure you would have already known my answer though ;) And you guys are genius to fill them with those little cups of deliciousness! Yum!

Planks. Though, I really dread all form of ab work. I love that you just sat and watched Bangs do the video. Hilarious with a touch of awkward. Did you pretend to be Jillian and yell at her? That would have been great ;) I am telling you though…you need to try the Jackie Warner DVD and then give me a review. I think you would like it.

Carrot cake. Mmmm. So good. TJ has these carrot cake cookies that I love. Your meal sounds delicious. We do Easter dinner with my family every year, but this year ross is insisting we do it with his family. I am VERY hesitant because they don’t take food as seriously as my family. And you don’t come between me and good food!

Hope your day is great! Are you going to be pool running daily now? Are you still teaching spin? Or no because of the lame sauce it band? And I am stealing Brooke for my 3rd child. It’s official so watch out. She is too dang cute.

Reply

Mac. All things apple if possible.
Neither. I would rather just eat the carrots than the cake so I guess Chocolate. Situps.
Chapstick.

Those peanut butter cups are amazing… yum! :)

Reply

As good as savory crepes are, I’m going to have to go with sweet ones on this one. And on that note, I’m super sad there was no picture of the chocolate crepes! I love all things chocolate, so chocolate cake is a no-brainer for me, especially since I’m not the biggest fan of carrot cake :? And chapstick all the way. I don’t like the sticky feeling that comes with gloss, especially when my hair gets stuck in it.

Reply

Mac all the way. I love apple products and would never go back to a PC. Definitely sweet crepes, preferably with chocolate, banana, and peanut butter.

Reply

I currently have some of those mini peanut butter cups in my pantry and they are SO GOOD. Yum!

I am a huge fan of Easter dinner, I’m already excited :)

Reply

What time should I show up for Easter Dinner and what should I bring? Sounds fantastic!
I am jealous of your conference call with Brooks! They make the best stuff and how exciting that you get to help with the awesomeness!
Why do we just have to choose one? Savory crepe (or two) first followed by a sweet crepe (or two).
Chocolate cake
Planks
Chap stick – but I like Burt’s Bees tinted

Reply

Do you know what? Your hubs is almost done with his entire first year of law school! That is VERY exciting.

Reply

I feel like any easter basket wouldn’t be complete without cadburry eggs. Have you tried those? I swear that is the reason I gained 50+ lbs during my pregnancy!

Reply

OH! PS have you tried a Crepe with strawberries and Nutella??? (and whip creme)….Its heaven

Reply

I used those tiny pb cups to make chocolate chip cookies this weekend. They were freaking amazing!!!

I’ve always been a mac girl. We had one of those enormous black and white laptops when I was a kid.

Definitely chapstick. My hair sticks in lipgloss and drives me batty.

Reply

I love savory crepes! There’s a great place I go to in Manitou Springs, CO that has several kinds of crepes and the whole restaurant is gluten free!

PC, like Savory crepes with lots of spinach and mushrooms,

Cake- god I couldn’t decide carrot cake is amazing but so is chocolate!

Funeral potatoes! Or the less morbid name that I grew up with them, Cheesey Potatoes. You can’t have Easter without them in our family!

Reply

For Easter, I’m going to make some carrots (out of puff pastr) and stuff them with some chicken salad and then make some deviled eggs (but the white part will be dyed pastel colors).

Reply

I’m totally using that crepe recipe, my husbands been begging for them. I have to put chapstick on first and then lip gloss. If I just put lip gloss on it drives me crazy.

Reply

Um, the Reese’s crepes sound like the best idea ever! I love ANYTHING Reese’s! So definitely sweet crepes. I have a PC at work and Mac at home. I don’t really have a preference. I usually like planks better but I have bad shoulders, so sit ups are great too. I’ll say neither cake (not a huge cake fan) and chap stick!

p.s. I love that Brooke has a mini Green Monster with her. Smart girl!

Reply

Sweet crèpes with chocolate. Chocolate cake. The answer is pretty much always chocolate!

I prefer Macs but I can manage with PCs.

I used to say sit-ups, but now I go with planks. I had abdominal surgery last June and sit-ups still aggravate that whereas planks don’t…which reminds me, it’s Tuesday Jillian Michaels workout DVD day today for me too! My usual workout buddy has taken off to Hawaii (the nerve!) so it will just be me, but oh well.

Reply

Those crepes look delicious! For me I think either sweet or savory crepe is delicious and since I rarely wear makeup, I’m a chapstick kinda gal who wishes she had a Mac :)

PC or Mac (question based on the fact that I had a picture of my computer in the first picture)? PC… I can’t figure out the Mac for the life of me. Lol, I’m #soOutdated, I know. :-p

Sweet or Savory Crepe? I’m normally a savory girl, but nothing beats a sweet nutella & banana crepe. Yummy!

Carrot Cake or Chocolate Cake? Chocolate (for me) and Carrot, for the hubby.

Planks or Sit-Ups? PLANKS! They are the best & so effective!

Lip Gloss or Chapstick? Both…not at the same time though, lol! Is it bad that I keep lip gloss AND chapstick with me, at all times?? :-p

Reply

Planks and chocolate cake (but I have to have a glass of milk with it. If no milk, then carrot cake).
Wow! That’s good that pool running was so intense that you were too tired to do JM (then again, those workouts are pretty crazy, too). I should really try it if I’m ever injured!

Reply

CARROT CAKE! Oh my goodness. My all time favorite. Did you know they now Carrot Cake M&Ms?? I cannot find them anywhere!

I seriously heart Jillian Michaels. Her workouts are SO good. Which one is Bangs doing?

Savory crepes are all I’ve had. From IHOP. YUM.

Bravo on the dinner menu! Love everything. I’m cheating this year and having my parents come to visit. My dad is a fabulous cook and he’s making dinner. Since I was 9 mos pregnant last Thanksgiving, I wasn’t able to travel home. So… my dad is cooking up a Thanksgiving inspired Easter feast. So excited. I’m making him chocolate cake to celebrate his bday.
I love our Macs. Nutella crepe. I enjoy doing sit ups over planks. And finally… chapstick bc lipgloss always sticks to my hair.

I currently have an iBook G4 (aka a dinosaur because it was before the birth of the Mac), but I am looking into getting an updated Mac. Macbook Pro or Air? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Mac – all of the electronics in our house are Apple.
Sweet crepes – ideally with banana and Nutella.
Carrot cake – hard one because I love chocolate, but I think I love cream cheese frosting more.
Planks – I dislike standard sit-ups and can’t do them now with my pregnant belly.
Chapstick – I’m obsessed and have them everywhere (coat pockets, drawers, car, bedside, etc.)

Reply

PC for actual computing, Apple for pretty much all other electronics :)
SWEET CREPES. I’m going to be the 1,000,000 commenter to express my obsession with anything Nutella.
Chocolate cake. The idea of a sweet vegetable cake just…no. It’s a no.
Sit ups, please! It’s more of a “feels so good it hurts” as opposed to “I’m going to vomit and die” hurt.
Chapstick, then lipgloss. Why sacrifice moisture or shine?! ;)

Reply

Sweet. Always sweet when it comes to crepes. Specifically banana and Nutella. I still dream about the crepes in France… you should see the size of the Nutella containers there. It’s worth permanently relocating for ;)

definitely sweet crepes! although i haven’t had savory, but that’s because sweet wins out every time. nutella + banana is my favorite, although banana + nutella + peanut butter is pretty epic if i am feeling extra indulgent! topped with tons of whipped cream, of course!

Sweet crepes- banana in any combo is a must!
Chocolate cake because as much as i love my veggies, carrots don’t belong in a cake
Planks- love the burn!
Chapstick- my lips are constantly chapped in the winter, so this is a necessity
