Everything about Costco is perfect.  Even the view from the parking lot looks too good to be true.  I always get jealous if Billy goes to Costco without me so I don’t want to post anything about the amazing time that my mom and I had inside that beautiful store so that he doesn’t feel sad.

Costco is our place and I am sure that is the first place that Billy and I will go straight from the airport when I go home next Monday (especially because I am sure Billy ate all of my dark chocolate pretzels while I was gone and I will need to replenish them).

After Costco we had to run to the regular grocery store for some other things including the candy aisle (I guess my mom didn’t feel like buying a 24 pack of skittles) because I had a movie night on the schedule with 4 kiddos.  I sure wish Brooke was more excited about being in the candy aisle, maybe in time she will.

Last night we had delicious leftover chicken enchiladas and I realized that I am really growing up and learning how to share or something because I gave one of my halves of enchiladas to my niece that was begging for it and had to fill the void with rice.

We also bought marshmallows at the store the first part of our party… a hot chocolate extravaganza.   (Join me on instagram…. hungryrunnergirl)

As if that wasn’t enough sugar we had to whip out some candy too (hello, I hadn’t had any candy since Saturday night… it was time).  We watched Matilda and it is amazing that I can still quote 90% of that movie.

A close-up on my latest non-chocolate favorite candy.

The leftover melon-o’s will be great pre-run energy sources for today.

WHAT IS YOUR RUN TODAY?!?! What are you eating before you run?

-I am thinking 7 easy miles.

Favorite childhood movie?  Also I need some good Christmas movie recommendations because the only one I watch is Elf.

-Matilda, Sandlot and Jumanji (okay, that is a lie.. that movie scared me to death).

What was the last fruit that you had?

-I feel like the only good fruit right now is apples…

It’s really sweet to see how much you care about being an amazing aunt, despite the fact you are now a mother too!
I just had my usual banana, strawberry, and blueberry breakfast smoothie (well, five hours ago… lunch is coming up as soon), and am also thinking of 6-7 comfortable miles today!
Have a great day!

I had grapes..lots of grapes – A bit obsessed!

I’m hoping to do a few relaxed miles today too. We’ll see how far my legs decide to take them!
Have a lovely Tuesday!

Try ‘The Snowman’ – an animated film. It’s the most perfect Christmas movie ever, we watch it at least twice every Christmas and I cry every time, even though I know what happens!

We’re in Tokyo at the moment and fruit here is ridiculously expensive. An apple is about $2.50! I miss fruit!

Ohh those Trolli Melon-O’s are good.. have you had the Tropi-O’s? Each flavor is a delicious surprise!

Eloise at Christmas Time!!!!!

There’s a book too that the little ones would love!

Your nieces and nephew must be having the best time!!! I am running as many miles as I can before yoga class starts–so hopefully 4.

My run today I’m going to run downtown and meet up with my mom for my last couple of miles, then she’ll drive me home.

My favorite movies as a kid were Parent Trap (the old version), Heavyweights, and the Newsies.

Reply

OMG I know what you mean about jumanji! That movie still creeps me out! That one and The Neverending Story. I still get nightmares with that one. :)

Reply

I love The Sandlot! This summer when it was like 100 degrees out with unbearable humidity, I half shouted “I’m sweating like a toasted cheeser!” while walking to my car after work. All of my middle-age co-workers looked at me like I’d lost my mind.

Other Christmas movies you should watch are National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (another fave), Love, Actually (love, love, love this one, but it’s not really a move for kids), A Christmas Story, and, of course, It’s A Wonderful Life (the movie I watch probably a dozen times between Thanksgiving and Christmas!). After thinking about all of these, I know I’ll probably wind up having a Christmas movie marathon this weekend! :)

Reply

I am running for this afternoon because I didn’t manage to get myself out of bed this morning.
Sandlot was the BEST movie!

Reply

ahh! four not for! I hate when I do that. ;)

My plan is to do 5 miles today. I have had two days off so my legs are ready to go! I ate a banana for breakfast but have not been as fruit crazy as usual these days. Try my fav Christmas movies: the Santa Clause with Tim Allen, Home Alone and the Grinch (new and original). I look forward to watching them still!

How was I not following you on instagram before!? Extra Brooke photos!

I used to be able to recite The Sandlot word for word while watching it. I don’t know if I’m proud or embarrassed by that fact :)

I run at 4:30 or 5 am so I don’t eat before a run. I did 7.6 at mp this morning. I recently decided to train for a spring marathon which means I need to start caring about my pace again. This will be my first full!

Elf is one of my favorites! Always cracks me up. We just watched Jumanji last week. Still scary.

WHAT IS YOUR RUN TODAY?!?! What are you eating before you run?

-I enjoyed 2 miles outside in 60 degree weather in OHIO on my 25th Birthday!! O yeah! I ate granola like an hour before and I was definitely feeling it :/

Favorite childhood movie? Also I need some good Christmas movie recommendations because the only one I watch is Elf.

-Matilda, Jumanji, and Disney ones!

Ummm…Rudolph, or Frosty, or The Santa Clause, Christmas Story

What was the last fruit that you had?

Apples! Yes! Seriously have the biggest obsession with those right now. Those and bananas are two fruits that I can never seem to get enough of. As for my favorite childhood movie, hands down The Last Unicorn and Land Before Time. Even just hearing the songs from those two movies totally makes my heart melt.

Christmas movies–The Santa Clause! My fave. White Christmas, love actually, Christmas with the kranks, and for some reason my sister and I consider little Women a holiday movie

Today is a rest day for me because I have a hair appointment after work!

No run for me. Still recovering from CIM :)
We love Elf and The Holiday and Grinch.
Those enchiladas look yummy

Planning on 8 miles at some point today, probably before lunch. Just ate a waffle with PB and a smoothie so I guess I’ll have to wait a while!

I LOVE Home Alone…cracks me up every time! (Although I read on another blog yesterday that it was made 22 years ago….well if that doesn’t make you feel old!)

Hey!! I recognize that costco– my sister lives about 3 blocks from there. I love that store. And the Sandlot is the best all time kid show. My kids have seen it once and I heard Ruby tell Fiona “you’re KILLING me , Smalls!!”. Proudest moment!

Reply

I love grapes right now so ofcourse that was the last fruit I ate, I ran a 8 miler in a STORM…

Reply

I love leaving gummy candy out overnight so it gets a little tough in the morning. Its the best! And I too love melon-o’s, I love candy in general.

Reply

I just saw Elf for the first time! So good. I’m afraid I don’t have any other movie recommendations…

Reply

omg i did a post dedicated to costco the other day when i was home for thanksgiving. love that place. i wish i could get a membership/have enough space here in DC for one!

I just watched Matilda last weekend! It is my favorite. I am currently reading the book to my second graders and then we will be watching the movie:)

HOlY CRAP Brooke is the cutest dang thing ever!! The pics are gorgeous. I am also rediculously in love with Costco. I go stroll the aisles just as a stress reliever. I LOVE their produce and usually just buy the apples, but I splurged on their giant orange box and they are SO good!!!

I replaced a run with a spin class today…it’s less bouncing on my baby bump.

Question: When you were running pregnant and still pumping out ten miles, did it feel really uncomfortable? I bought the belly brace you suggested, but I just try to ignore how awkward I feel sometimes!

Reply

Last fruit I ate? Persimmons.
Christmas movie? I also have to go with Elf (I watch it every Christmas).
Run today? Actually, I’ll probably just do an elliptical or stairmaster workout instead of treadmilling.

Reply

I love Costco too :)

Such a cute photo of the kids ‘n’ hot cocoa!

I enjoy ELF w/the hubs during the holiday season :)

It’s a Wonderful Life is a staple at our house! But we also watch Polar Express and Elf like it’s going out of style! One of my personal favorites is Shop Around the Corner, which You’ve Got Mail is based off of. It’s a great movie to watch with a cup of hot chocolate and a blanket!

Long time reader, first time commenter. I love your blog and read it daily! You rock.

OMG quoting Matilda is the best! “Are you a PIG Amanda?” “My mommy thinks they’re sweet…” “Your mommy is a twit!” Ahhh I’m smiling just thinking about it :-)

Today’s run was 8 easy miles with my stroller!
